Chapter 1
“Wow, what a lovely day! I can’t believe Mikey-Josh let me leave free of charge!” exclaimed Freddy.
“Yeah, I guess. The decorations could be nicer” complained Miku.
“Miku, what?” Freddy said, staring at her in disbelief.
“What?”
“Huh?”
“Huh?”
They went back and forth many times until they came to a halt.
“My two best buddies are getting married. I’m very happy for them. Next time we visit, we should bring the whole crew!” said Freddy. He stared out the window, and down at the food court at the wedding. However, the room was silent in response to his words.
The door was left open, Miku already at the waiting area. She sits with her pigtails flowing in the wind. She watches as the room fills with people. Her eyes look away from Sheldon’s family. She can’t bear to see them. People that could have been by her side instead of his. Slowly she stands and walks a few feet from the pastor. Soon Freddy comes down to join her. He gives her a large side-eye. Like seriously, she just left without saying anything after he was talking to her!? However, his expression becomes more worried after thinking about what she’s going to go through.
“You gonna be okay, best-woman?” he whispers to Miku.
“I’ll be just fine, best-man.” she quietly whispers back. She looks almost bittersweet.
Slowly, the chatter fades as ATEEZ plays softly on the piano. Bluey comes down the walkway, she holds a basket of flowers that she gently throws on the floor. As Sheldon waits on the altar, he sees Spongebob walk down the aisle in a beautiful, clean gown. Everyone watches as Spongebob makes his way to the altar. Sheldon and Spongebob, hand in hand as they watch each other.
“I have a theory” exclaimed the pastor, who also appears to be MatPat. “I have a theory that we are gathered here today to celebrate the love between these two lucky people. I wish them eternal happiness and peace together. Do you, Spongebob Squarepants, take Sheldon Cooper to be your husband?”
“I do,” replied Spongebob, his eyes gleaming with joy.
Suddenly, a dark figure appeared in the corner of Freddy’s eyes. He slightly turns his neck. The silhouette of a man was behind the curtains.
“And do you, Sheldon Cooper, take Spongebob Squarepants, to be your husband?”
“I do” responds Sheldon.
“H-hey, Miku… there’s someone over there.” whispered Freddy. Miku turns her body and faces the curtain. Their faces turn pale.
“Who could that be?...”
“If anyone objects, speak now or forever hold your peace”
Chapter 2
“ I object!!!” shouted the figure in the back filling the room with awkward tension. But the figure was not alone. Miku shouted with him, jealous of the love before them. She had been best friends with Sheldon since before he even knew SpongeBob. She had been the one to clean his tears to absorb them, she had been the one who was there for him no matter what. The crowd stared in disbelief. Miku, standing in a defensive position, stared at the curtain beside the altar. Slowly, someone began to walk out from behind. A dark figure with a chin that seemed as long as the altar itself. A mewing streak of his whole life still could not create quite the effect that this man's chin had.
“Please Sheldon, please! I have loved you for as long as I have known about you, just marry me instead!” shouted the man in the back as the whole room stared in disbelief at this mystery man. He wore a lime green hoodie of the saddest quality and a paper plate mask on his side with a smile on contrasting the sad yet hopeful look on his face as he stared in the eyes of the groom.
“Who are you and why are you trying to marry my fiance?!” shouted Spongebob in his shrill voice covering the room with tension. Sheldon stayed in shock for the whole event wondering what was going on and if he could ever have a peaceful day with Spongebob without interruption and random fans trying to object to this union.
“I am Dream, I have loved you forever Sheldon. Since I saw your work as a child for companies that I could only dream to be a part of.” You could hear the soft chuckling of Bluey and Applejack in the audience as they heard Dream say his dreams. This upset the green man, causing him to stomp his foot on the floor in an attempt to regain authority, only to look pathetic. “ I have been following you since you went to that beach with your family as a child and since then I have been mesmerized by you, when I saw you get on your knee in Germany to another man I was filled with rage and utter jealousy, and realized that all I need is you to heal me.”
“Why do you think that I, as one of the most successful and beautiful scientists in the world, would have to have you, a sad, old, ugly, green man to heal?!… why would I leave the love of my life at the altar to be with a stalker.” Sheldon yelled out, almost in tears at what just happened during his wedding. He kept on going and speaking up on his and Spongebob’s behalf all his fiance could do was look in amazement as the love of his life yelled at the man objecting to them and standing up for the right of love.
“Okay bud, time to leave” spoke the Lego guard, running towards Dream with all his plastic might as his name tags flew off toward Ateez at the piano hitting them all in the eye.
“What the flip?!” Hongjoong, a part of ATEEZ and the shortest of the bunch, yelled out as a reaction.
Emmett began to walk out of the room with Dream by his side. Dream turned his chin back as he said, “I always come back” and stared at Sheldon with his eyes fuelled by jealousy. Spongebob was now more confident in their relationship than ever. His fiance stood up for not only himself but Spongebob as well. He was proud, and couldn’t wish for a better person to spend the rest of his life with.
Chapter 3
The room began to quiet down. Matpat returned to his spot upon the altar, as well as Spongebob and Sheldon. Freddy looked at Miku with a concerned look. She returned it. She stood in disbelief.
Was that it? Is he serious? Sure, there had been an argument that began and took the center of attention, but they’ll gloss over how she was about to proclaim her love to Sheldon? Maybe they just forgot? No, why would he forget. He has to be joking. She wouldn’t take this. She turned to the altar, facing Sheldon with confidence and teary eyes.
“You must be kidding! Do you really care so little about me? If that were true, why would I be here today! I had the trouble of coming here with a painful heart, only to support my best friend who won’t acknowledge my love!” Miku exclaimed. Her hands clasped at her sides, her eyes widened while tears began to stream down her flushed face.
Sheldon looked down at her. He had pity, but knew what he had to do. The crowd stared at Miku, then back at Sheldon. He glanced at Spongebob, he had a worried look on his face. He turned back to Miku. This was the only way.
“Miku. I invited you here today because I trusted you. You were always by my side when we were little, and you have always been my best friend. If you had told me how you felt before, I wouldn’t be so upset by the fact you’ve just ruined what was supposed to be a perfect day. But look at yourself. Professing love at someone else’s wedding. What do you think about yourself, Miku? Look around you. I can’t be nice now and say something sweet. I’ve been looking forward to today for as long as I can remember, and you have the nerve to state your feelings right now. Miku, I would say I’m sorry, but I’m truly not. I feel nothing but discontent at you now. Leave.”
Miku stood still. The strength in her body gave out. She fell to the floor as the tears on her face fell harder. She covered her face with her hands and couldn’t believe what she’d been told. He was right, though. She should have told him sooner rather than do it on impulse, at their wedding, even. She could understand why Sheldon was upset. But, why couldn’t she bear it? She can’t understand anything anymore. Her heart broke. Sheldon’s expression hadn’t changed the whole time. His eyes were empty looking at her. He had nothing but disappointment on his face. She looked up to him one last time. She could only look at him for a second before getting to her feet and running away.
“Miku! Where are you going?” Freddy yells.
Freddy began to chase after her. As he started to catch up, he saw her body glitching. He was worried for her. He couldn’t bear to lose her. They’ve been such good friends. He needs to get to her.
“Miku! What’s wrong?”
“Go away, leave me alone!”
Miku started to sprint faster. She makes it to the reception before collapsing. Flower petals swarm her. Freddy finally makes it to her, only too late. He stands before her.
“M-miku…?”
Chapter 4
Her body doesn’t glitch anymore. Her tears are no longer falling. She grew cold, and around her grew a patch of flowers. Heartbreak.
“Miku…”
Freddy stood looking down at her. Slowly he picks up his Freddy Fazphone and calls and calls the doctors. Soon, cheers can be heard throughout the building. Spongebob and Sheldon have now been married in happy matrimony. The sirens grow closer as the cheers get louder and the flowers grow.
“Can you tell Sheldon something for me Fred?” spoke Miku as she lay on the venue grass having flowers grow rapidly out of her heartbreak and tears watering the ground.
“Of course” Freddy said over the loud cheering and sirens as he could see Miku was not going to make it by the time the ambulance got there.
“He can always have a..” coughing filled the yard as Miku could barely get her sentence out of her mouth as the autotune faded. “Have a shoulder to cry on even when it isn’t there.”
Those were the last words to come out of her mouth as the flowers took over leaving her with a face of regret but content with her condition as Freddy stood over her, now alone. That had never happened to him before. Especially not with Miku. Freddy stood in shock, not even being able to stand the cheers and laughter of the people at the reception. Miku was always there for him. But, in her final moments, he couldn’t do anything to help her.
The nurses came though, confused as to why Freddy was the only one there crying. He was in the courtyard in front of flowers, while the chapel was bustling with excitement and love.
“It's okay to feel sad now that she’s gone,” A voice spoke, shattering the melancholy feeling surrounding the hospital waiting room. The nurse had brown permed hair and a butt chin that defeated any other. It brought back a sad nostalgia of the horrid love confessions that had taken place a few hours ago. His name tag that said Will Schuester sat proudly on his uniform.
“I’ve lost people too, it can be hard to carry on even when you think you’re fine.” The nurse looked at Freddy again, as if she was trying to soak in his grief, before continuing. “But I had people to talk to.” Freddy stared up at her, glossy, robotic eyes, dull in shock. “Do you, sweetie?”
Freddy’s breath became unsteady. He didn’t know what to do upon hearing such gentle words. All he had thought about since Miku’s death was how Sheldon and Spongebob couldn’t even care less. He couldn’t stand how alone Miku must feel, even if she was in heaven.
All he wanted was his friend back. The one person who could make him feel whole and like the person he wanted to be instead of who people feared him for being.
Epilogue
They can never get rid of me. I am the only person who he needs. The madman thought to himself, frantically pacing in his room, causing it to get progressively covered in teal glitter. His whole body was covered in glitter from that dumpster in Germany on that fateful day when everything had gone wrong. This is all because of that sponge… he thought. Losing Sheldon, getting rejected in front of Matpat, and this glitter taking over him no matter what he did. It was his fault. He didn’t care who Sheldon would choose, Sheldon was young and dumb and did not know who he was in love with. He needed to dream.
None of his thoughts felt stable as he struggled to keep pacing. His body froze and started to shift. All there was was TXT disease, hate, and another player in the game.
“Don’t worry, I can take care of that resident’s evil.”
