Round One

Summary:

Tim's away helping Zee with a case and Jason is lonely back in Gotham without him.

Warning: This kinda contains sleep-sex, but Tim is an incubus, so that should not be surprising to anyone...

Work Text:

Jason leaned back in his desk chair and pressed the heels of his palms into his stinging eyes. Rubbing his hands over his face, the prickle of two days of stubble scratching at his palms, Jason tried hard to work up the will to look back down at the stack of papers neatly piled on the desk in front of him.

Night had fallen hours before, casting shadows over Jason’s room in the manor. He had switched his desk lamp on hours before as he carefully paged through the pile of case files. The onset of winter had made working long hours in the Cave all but intolerable for him. His knee was already aching from the change in the weather. So Jason was working mostly from the desk he had set up in a corner of his bedroom back when he was in school.

Blinking his eyes open, he focused back on the stack of case files for a long moment. Jason had been working on trying to solve a series of robberies that were plaguing medical supply warehouses in Gotham Harbor. He had been at it for weeks, pouring over police reports and surveillance footage and the Gotham-focused message boards. But he hadn’t found any concrete leads.

Usually by now, he would have found some connection, no matter how tenuous. Or Babs would have come up with some sort of lead for him to track down.

Instead, he just kept looking through the same materials over and over again, hoping something might jump out to him.

A sudden wave of exhaustion and frustration washed over Jason. The temptation to push the piles of paper onto the floor was nearly overwhelming but the thought of getting down on the floor to pick everything up…

Jason wasn’t sure his bad knee could handle it.

A soft tap came at the door and Jason looked up to find Alfred hovering behind him with a tray of food in his hands.

“While I am relieved you have decided to spend less time in that damp Cave,” Alfred said, moving over beside Jason. “I do wish you wouldn’t work quite so much. You’ve been at this since you woke this morning.”

With several swift efficient movements, Alfred whisked the case files off the desk, and deposited the tray with a dinner dish, complete with a glass of wine, in front of him. Jason hadn’t realized how hungry he was until the delicious creamy scent of his dinner wafted up from the tray.

Alfred tucked the files off onto a nearby shelf before turning sharply back to Jason.

“Enjoy your dinner, Master Jason. It is seven in the evening. I suspect your good friend is likely just waking up for the day. I’m sure he would be very happy to hear from you.”

“Thanks, Alfred,” Jason said, looking up at him with a smile. “Dinner looks great and I think you’re right. I will give Tim a call.”

“Excellent,” Alfred bestowed a pleased smile on Jason before heading back downstairs to feed the rest of the herd.

Dinner was asparagus risotto and the dry white wine paired perfectly with it. As he took his first bites of dinner, Jason reached for his phone.

There were over a dozen notifications, most of them from the family group chat. But as he pulled up his messaging app, he saw a note from Tim.

*Bon matin, le petit ami. I hope you didn’t work too much today.*

Jason smiled to himself as he took a sip of wine. He and Tim had been seeing each other for a few weeks now. Usually, Jason would make his way over to the Magi District after he was done working for the evening to spend some time with Tim and Miss Marple.

Unfortunately, Tim was traveling this week. He had been gone for nearly five days and he wasn’t sure when he would be back. He was working with Zee to track down an old Chinese seal called a xǐ. It was apparently cursed in a way that meant it needed to be contained as soon as possible.

Tim had a knack for tracking down ancient objects thanks to his parents. He told Jason about going with them on various digs and exhibitions over the years and he had learned a lot about tracking down and obtaining ancient magic items. This was essentially how his parents kept their little shop afloat for all those years and left Tim with a decent nest egg.

It was an impressive skill set.

Jason just wished Zatana didn’t need to rely on it so much.

*I did work all day,* Jason texted to him. *Alfred just coaxed me into taking a break while I have dinner.*

*Smart man.*

*One of the smartest I know. Also, he has excellent taste in wine. Are you having breakfast?*

*Alas, I am not. I’m staking out a house. I’m very hungry and it’s very boring.*

They texted as Jason finished his dinner, talking about both of the cases they were working. When Tim had to go, Jason decided to take a break from the case files for a while. He made his way back down to the Cave to set up the patrol schedules for that night, he did his briefings with the rest of the team before they all scattered off into the city. Then he went back up to his much warmer bedroom and read his book until he drifted off to sleep.

His dreams that night were tangled and unfocused. The only thing Jason remembered was Tim, grinning at him as his fingers skated gently across Jason’s sweat-slick skin.

He came awake slowly the next morning, a prickle of fervid want twisting its way up from the bracelet on Jason’s wrist.  Tickling up his arms and through his chest until it pooled low in Jason’s abdomen, thickening his cock and making his breath catch in his throat. The familiar sensation of Tim’s magic flicked over Jason’s skin, filling him with need.

Over the weeks he and Tim had been together, the sensation of Tim’s magic rippling across his skin had become a warm and welcome embrace. It made Jason feel wanted and flooded with primal desire all at the same time. It felt perfect and safe and better than anything Jason had ever felt in his whole life.

And now, even an ocean away, he could feel Tim’s presence in the bed with him. It was almost as if it was Tim’s breath was ghosting across his skin, Tim’s mouth was pressing hot kisses to his neck, Tim’s fingers were wrapping around his leaking cock.

Jason kicked back the blankets and shoved his boxers down his thighs as he gasped and twisted in Tim’s phantom embrace. Jason felt a squeeze around his erection and he instinctively spread his legs as he felt something inchoate tickling at his hole.

Trying to strangle back a cry of want, Jason arched his hips, thrusting up into the tight, invisible tunnel wrapped around him then back onto the perfect press deep inside of him. He moved without thought, the tingling heat of Tim’s magic coursing through him, pushing him higher, further, closer to the edge.

He came with a choked-off shout, sparks of desire flashing through his mind as hot come splattered across his stomach. When his phone buzzed with a new message, Jason was still struggling to catch his breath.

It was a text from Tim.

*Are you awake…?*

*I am now…*

His phone rang and he immediately swiped the call live.

“So I may have fallen asleep feeling very, very hungry…” Tim said sheepishly without even saying hello. “And I may have had a very vivid dream about you…”

“One where you finger fucked me until I came shouting your name?” Jason asked, his voice amused but still hoarse from sleep.

“Yes, exactly that,” Tim said, his voice still sounding nervous. “I’m guessing you, uh… Felt that?”

“I absolutely did,” Jason agreed.

“I’m so, so, so sorry,” Tim said. “That’s honestly never happened to me before. But when I woke up I felt like I could still taste your skin and I wondered… I’m so sorry.”

Jason huffed out a laugh and shook his head, reaching for a few tissues from the nightstand to clean off.

“You’re lucky I wasn’t eating breakfast with the family,” Jason teased.

“Jesus. You’re right. I’m so sorry. I really didn’t mean for it to happen. I was asleep and couldn’t control it.”

Tim sounded horrified and truly remorseful.

“It’s fine. Really. But, uh. It might be a good idea to know how to snap you out of something like this. Just in case it happens when I’m in mixed company in the future.”

“God, what did you even feel? Like how did it start?”

“Mmm, well I was dreaming about you, too. But when I woke up it was just tingles around the bracelet,” Jason said, tossing the used tissues in his trashcan. “It was a few minutes before I realized what was really going on.”

“I think it might have started because we were both asleep,” Tim said, speaking very quickly. “At least that’s what I’m hoping. I’m really, really sorry. I used my power last night and it’s been days since I’ve been near you. I was just so hungry.”

“I could tell,” Jason said with a laugh. “You moved pretty quick. It did not take you long to get me off.”

“I wonder if you take the bracelet off, this won’t happen,” Tim mused.

Jason didn’t like that idea. While initially it had just been a means for Tim to conceal Jason with his glamour, Jason had grown to like it. It reminded him of Tim and sometimes he even felt like he could feel Tim’s own heat, like warm fingers circled around his wrist.

“But didn’t you say eventually you wouldn’t need the bracelet to affect me with your magic?” Jason pointed out. “What happens then?”

“I’m not sure,” Tim said slowly. “But I’m going to find out very quickly. I don’t actually spend a lot of time with other Incubi. We tend to be territorial and solitary, to be honest. And most of them are insufferable. I honestly hate just about all of them. But there is one here in Paris that isn’t too terrible. I can go him to for… advice. To be honest, this is the first real relationship I have had since… Well… Ever. So I feel like maybe I have a lot to learn.”

“Didn’t your mom tell you anything?”

“About accidentally arousing my father in public?” Tim asked primly. “No, she did not.”

Jason huffed out a laugh and nodded. “Yeah, I guess she maybe wouldn’t. When will you be home?”

“Soon,” Tim promised. “I got the seal last night. Hence me using a little too much juice and ending up very hungry. I’m going to try and get in touch with the incubus I mentioned and then I’ll be through the next portal home, I promise. And I will make this up to you. Fancy dinner, new books, abject apologies. You name it, you got it.”

“Hmmmm,” Jason pretended to think over what he wanted while Tim nervously waited on the other end of the line. “How about a round two?”

“I can do round two,” Tim said, his voice turning from anxious to deeply amused. “I can absolutely do round two.”

“Perfect. And let me know what your incubus friend has to say. I think this might be something we need to know sooner rather than later.”

“Yeah, I get that feeling too,” Tim said wryly. “I’ll call you before I head home, ok?”

“Sounds good. See you soon,” Jason said with a yawn.

Jason’s legs were still feeling tingly as he idly considered a shower and some coffee. When he finally pried himself out of bed, he worked preemptively on the patrol routine for that night, just in case Tim got back home in time for dinner.

And round two.

Notes:

These two need to move in together. Stat.

I gotta come up with a rad Incubus mentor for Tim. Ted, maybe...?
