Chapter Text

Georgie and Gerry walk into the archive. "Wait," Gerry says, remembering something. She bends over and grabs the balled up picture.

Georgie cocks her head, curious. Gerry carefully smooths it out.

It's the same polaroid that was on Jon's fridge. This one was different, though, it had everyone's signatures on it and a date. 7/26/17.

Gerry held it close in two hands, frowning. What happened? Why would Tim throw this out? They all seemed so happy.

Georgie looked over her shoulder, then backed up to give her space.

After a second of silence, Georgie speaks up. "Do you want to look for Micha?" She asked. Gerry shook her head. Georgie rubbed her nose. "Okay."

Gerry leaned against the wall and rubbed her head. God when would this pain end?

Martin found them in the lobby. He had dark circles under his eyes and the tips of his fingers looked a little red, but he was overall fine.

He managed a small smile and opened his arms. Gerry looked to Georgie and she gestured in return.

Gerry fell into Martin's arms and sighed in relief. He was warm and solid, vastly different from the wet tears and confusing feelings.

"Have you seen Jon today?" Martin asked. "Why, did something happen?" Georgie asked quickly. "No, no," Martin assured. "I was just wondering."

Gerry pulled away from the hug and held the picture close to her chest again.

"Have you seen Micha?" She asked Martin. "I saw her hair in the Artifacts Storage, but I haven't seen her come out since then."

Gerry nodded and slipped the picture in her pocket.

She walked to artifact storage, every footstep sounding like a "stop".

She had to do this.

Gerry opened the door and looked around quickly. Micha was on top of a bookshelf, her knees to her chest and her hair forming bubble like spheres that floated from her hair snd dissipated when they got too far away.

"Micha?" Gerry whispered. Micha met her eyes. "Gerry."

Gerry sat on the floor in front of the bookshelf and sighed, placing her head in her hands. She spoke up. "I'm so sorry for what I did. I completely misread the situation and I stupidly thought you'd like it and it was out of left field and...and I crossed your boundaries. I'm so sorry, Micha. I am."

Micha glitched down to next to Gerry and fidgeted with her long fingers. "It's okay." She replied quietly. "I got scared." She sighed, her pink eyebrows furrowing.

"Michael was never kissed," she continued. "Neither was I." "Oh."

Micha sighed, a high pitched squeal sounding out as she did. Gerry didn't mind.

"I'm willing to try again." Micha said after a long, almost comfortable silence.

Gery could almost cry. She let a relieved smile onto her face. "Okay."

Micha smiled too.
