Journey to Her Past

Chapter 4

Notes:

Hey guys... sorry I left this story behind but thing happened and I was hit with a stump when trying to figure this out. I didn't want this to follow the usual plot of Anastasia and I didn't know where this was going but I will try to figure out how this will go!

I recently read one of my favorite classics after all these years, 'Oliver Twist' and it helped give me some inspiration that I needed.

please enjoy!

Chapter Text

Tia learned a long time ago that if a man you don’t know smiles at you, you either ignore him and run or throw anything valuable at him and run.

But she didn’t know what to do with a smiling man pointing a gun at her.

“What do you want?” she demanded, clutching her bag tight against her chest.

Moxxie’s smile grew wider, “Well you see-”

“Mox! Put the gun down!” a new voice yelled, it was raspy, “You’re scaring the kid!”

The two turned to see a man and a hellhound run out the door with the man slamming the door to the hallway shut. He then marched up to the imp with the gun and yanked it away.

“Of all things you-”

“Sir!” Moxxie squeaked, “Look!”

He pointed at Tia who was trying to tip toe away but froze when they stared at her. Blitzø took one look at her and his eyes widened at the sight if the teenager. She was a demon with an avian like appearance, but she didn’t have tail feathers. Her face though, it was almost near identical to...

“No! No! No!” he yelled at Moxxie, “Don’t even think about it!”

Moxxie rolled his eyes and looked at Tia and then gestured to the portrait.

“Come on sir! She's perfect!”

Blitzø looked at the girl who was trembling and the portrait of Octavia, he’ll admit that there was a resemblance, but he was not having it. Stolas would throw this poor girl into the void, and it would hurt the imp’s conscience. This poor kid looked like she’s been out on the streets for a while, she was so skinny, and her clothes were dirty.

“You hungry sweetie?” he asked with genuine concern.

Tia shook her head, “I’m fine!”

Her stomach growled to prove she was lying, and the girl blushed. Blitzø chuckled and walked up to her.

“We don’t have much, but tomato soup is filling and warm.”

“Tomato soup? What's that?”

Yup, she was a street kid.

“It’s food and it’s good,” Blitzø answered, "Come on sweetie, we have room, and you look exhausted."

Tia clutched her bag tightly against her chest.

“Don’t worry, we’re not creeps,” he looked at Moxxie who was pouting, “Don’t mind him, he’s an idiot.”

Loona snickered, “He is kid.”

While nervous, Tia relaxed her rigid posture, she was tired, hungry and really wanted to a sponge bath.

“Sure, I’ll have that soup.”

Blitzø smiled, "Great! Follow me!”

He walked off with a pouting Moxxie following him, Tia looked at Loona who gave her a reassuring smile.

“So where you from?” the woman asked, trying to make small talk.

She seemed nice so Tia answered, “I ran away from an orphanage in Envy, I got sick of being cheap labor, so I left.”

“Envy huh?” Loona asked, “Man you are far from home.”

“I wouldn’t call it home.”

They walked through the hall, Tia was following Loona since she didn’t know where she was going.

“I see, well don’t worry about my dad. He's an idiot but he won’t do anything bad.”

Tia tilted her head, that imp was her dad? Weird but she’s seen a lot of kids, hellhounds, imps and hybrids, get adopted by different kinds of demons so it was normal. Loona led her to a door and opened it, she saw Blitzø and Moxxie seething at each other before the shorter imp walked off to his room.

“What’s with him?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.

Blitzø shrugged his shoulders, "Mox is just being a baby, you know how he is.”

He went to the small pot on the hot plate and stirred it slowly, “You’re in luck sweetie, this is a fresh can.”

“Um... My names Tia.”

That didn’t stop the stirring, “Okay Tia! Make yourself at home!”

The girl slowly walked in and looked around the large room. It looked fancy with beautifully designed carvings on the walls. But the beautiful designs were marred with broken furniture, pillows and blankets were scattered everywhere.

“Don’t mind the mess, we just got this room after the last group left.”

“It’s fine.”

Tia saw a large duvet in the corner of the room and ran to claim it, it didn’t look dirty, and it didn’t have any weird stains, so it was hers! Moxxie was about to say something, but Loona bonked him on the head.

“Let her have that thing,” she whispered, “She looks exhausted.”

“But that’s mine...” the smaller man pouted.

Blitzø snickered and ladled some of the soup in a chipped bowl, “Soups on everyone! New girl gets first the first bowl!”

Like clockwork, Loona and Moxxie moved to set up the small table that was pushed against the wall. Moxxie grabbed the mismatched silverware and different sized bowl, setting them on the table while Loona tried her luck to see if maybe she missed any water bottles. She found none.

Blitzø placed the pot in the middle of the table and turned his head to the young teenager who was already claiming the corner as hers.

“You can join us if you want Tia but remember, you’re allowed to eat anywhere you want as long as you clean up. Got it?”

Tia looked at him with a tilted head and nodded, “Okay...”

Why was he so nice to her?

Blitzø walked up to her and gave her the bowl of steaming liquid, she brought the bowl to her beak, and she shivered at the sudden warmth that traveled down her throat. It was so savory and tangy, it was way better than the watered-down crap they served at the orphanage.

“Thanks, this is so good,” she smiled softly, her feathers puffed in happiness and her eyes were closed in glee.

Seeing that made Blitzø blink and shake his head, for a moment he thought he saw Stolas acting the same way when he tried imp cuisine for the first time. He shook his head again; he didn’t have time for childish memories.

“Just relax sweetie,” he said and reached to ruffle her hair gently.

Tia froze and flinched when the red and white claw reached for her head but then relaxed when her hair was gently ruffled, it felt familiar for some reason.

“I know we just met and all but you're now a part of my little group,” Blitzø declared, "I'm not going to let a little girl run around this shit hole alone.”

Tia looked at him confused.

“Don’t worry, I’m not a freak or anything,” the imp muttered, “You said you ran away from an orphanage in Envy, right? Well, those places are notorious for grabbing any street kid from the streets especially if they’re alone. It’s better off you stay with us until you’re an adult. How old are you Tia?”

The teenager began to think, how old was she again? The people who brought her to that orphanage guessed her age to be seven or six and that just stuck.

“Sixteen or seventeen,” Tia answered, “I know it’s weird, but I don’t know how old I am, I don't even know my real name.”

Blitzø was now confused, “You don’t?”

Tia shook her head, “Nope, I don’t even know who my parents are.”

“Huh....” that was weird, an orphan with no name wandering around the sealed part of the palace? “Well... like I said, you’re with us Tia. Just sit back and enjoy your soup.”

The girl smiled and took another sip of her soup while Blitzø went back to the table. he saw Loona growling at Moxxie who was using a plate as a shield.

“Ok what’s going on you two?” asked, his throat hurt from the talking.

Loona huffed and turned to her father, “Fatty here told me that we should use that girl for his stupid con!”

Blitzø glared at the smaller man, “You’re from wrath but your greed is showing.”

“Sir,” Moxxie kept his plate up, “We’ve been living here in this shit hole for years. Scavenging through trash for cans just to buy food and you medicine. We deserve a little luxury!”

“And conning a prince is the answer?”

“Hey, he’s offering a royal sum for anyone who will bring back you or his daughter!” Moxxie growled, “Why won’t you take this opportunity? That girl,” he pointed at Tia who ignored the converstaion in favor of the view from the window she was sitting by, “Looks just like the princess! We can use her!”

Blitzø growled, "We are not!”

Moxxie was about the say something when the older imp leaned forward, “Listen Mox, I know you want me to get back at Stolas for throwing me out, but I won’t hurt him by making him think his dead daughter is alive. You have no fucking idea how much he loved that little girl!”

Deciding to eat alone, Blitzø stood up, grabbed his bowl and walked to his room.

“And if I hear one more talk about that stupid con...” he said in a low tone before he sighed, “Just remember who saved your ass when that Chaz fucker sold you to pay off his drug debts.”

Hearing that made Moxxie freeze and any rebuttal he had died in his throat, he turned to his soup and ate slowly. After saying that, Blitzø went to his room, he took one more look at Tia who was now curled up in the soft duvet and closed the door.

He felt bad for bringing up Moxxie’s past trauma, but he did not want to hear about that con.

Syre, he had every right to be mad.

Blitzø gave Stolas everything, his heart and his body. He knew the risks, who didn’t know the risk of sleeping with a married Goetia? Blitzø would have easily been put to death if they were caught. It was by some unholy miracle that Stolas’ bitch of a wife was caught plotting to overthrow Paimon before they were caught. With her gone for good, Blitzø and Stolas came out as an official couple, no one batted an eye. They had a quiet life together all the while raising Stolas’ baby girl Octavia. Blitzø loved her so much, he loved her since the day he first saw her, he could still remember the day she looked at him and called him ‘daddy-Blitzy’. No words could describe the happiness he felt that day.

Losing her hurt more than what Stolas did to him.

Blitzø sat on the mattress on the floor and looked at his now cold soup as the memory of that day came flooding into his thoguhts.

It was two days after the fire, Blitzø limped his way to Stolas’ palace covered in burns, painful burns. The explosion did a number on him; he spent all of yesterday being treated at a free clinic. With all that was happening, no one noticed him, and he slipped out when he was wrapped in bandages. Blitzø showed up at the gates, he called out to Stolas, he cried for him but the guards, those fucking guards, told him that Stolas never wanted to see him again. That loving him was a mistake and that Blitzø killed Octavia. Blitzø tried to get past them, but they threw him across the street and slammed the gates shut.

That act alone broke the man’s heart. He got up and limped away, not caring that he was ugly crying.

A harsh cough interrupted the memory. Blitzø drank the soup, tossed the cup aside, and curled up in bed. Tears fell as his tail wrapped around him for comfort, and he coughed again.

“Stolas you fucking owl... why... just why do I....” why did he still love him?

Notes:

And there you go!

Blitzø would take in an orphan from the streets. He's also protective of Tia already!

I humbly thank you for sticking around for this!
