Chapter 1: Basic explanation of appearances and what’s expected in this story.

Chapter Text

Hello! This is my first fic if you didn’t read the tags, I’ve normally worked on Wattpad so ao3 is quite new to me. I don’t mind helpful criticism, and would really appreciate it, this is my first attempt at getting back into writing after quite a while! This will also be posted on Wattpad aswell when I finally get the cover art done but let’s get to what you’re here for.

Morro, almond skin, Age 9. Black shoulder length hair a green stripe mixed in, small black oni horns on top of his head, red eyes.

Lloyd, ivory skin, Age 7-19. Platinum blond hair with brown roots, emerald green eyes.

Garmadon, I don’t even know- he’s definitely old. Human form is Brown hair and ivory skin, with sage green eyes. Oni form is his normal oni form, horns, jet black skin, four arms, y’know the deal.

kai, Warm beige skin, Age 25. Medium brown hair, dark brown eyes, tongue piercing. I feel like Kai would have a tongue piercing.

Nya, Warm beige skin, Age 22. Off black hair, hazel eyes, birthmark under her eye.

Cole, chestnut skin, Age 27. Jet black hair, dark brown eyes.

Jay, Pale ivory skin, Age 23. Auburn hair, ice blue eyes, freckles all over his face and shoulders.

Zane, literally titanium, Age -. White hair, electric blue eyes.

i think that’s all that needs to be mentioned, they weren’t changed much, the only relationships are cannon couples.

I’ll post an actual chapter very soon!:3

Chapter 2: The calm before the storm.

Notes:

Just a happy day before their whole life is ruined!:3

Chapter Text

It was a normal morning in the garmadon household, Lloyd was sitting on the couch completely hypnotized by a kids show.

Garmadon was in the kitchen, in the middle of making breakfast for the two children, he was currently in his Oni form so he could multitask easily, one of the helpful things of having four arms was so he could cook on two pans at once.

Morro was waving around a blue plastic sword with a chip in the side of it from Morro attempting to attack the sofa when he stubbed his toe on it, currently he was fighting his green dragon plushie, acting like it was the villain terrorizing the entire world and morro was the only person that could beat it.

Once Morro had ‘slain’ the dragon he looked over at the citizens and laughed manically, well, it was more like a squeaky giggle instead of an evil laugh but he’d practice later. “You trusted the wrong person you stupid people!!” He had yelled and started poking his toys with the sword, knocking over action figures and plushies, once he ‘killed’ the entire group of civilians he had set up he laughed again.

Morro dropped the sword, looking at Lloyd and walking over to the sofa, climbing onto the couch and settling himself beside his little brother.

“What’s so interesting about this show that has you so quiet?” He had spoken to himself, tilting his head to the side as he observed the show, watching the talking animals on the screen for a bit before getting bored and rolling around on the couch, moving until he was laying down with his legs up on the back of the sofa, kicking his feet.

Morro started observing his surroundings, he looked at his fluffy socks with a purple and black striped pattern, he looked around the living room that he had seen so many times before, the paintings on the wall, the pictures of him and his little brother, the pictures of his uncle and dad when they were young.

speaking of his dad. “Morro, Lloyd, Breakfast is ready.” His father spoke with a soft tone, peaking through the doorway that separated the kitchen and the living room, staring at the two children with a loving gaze.

“Coming papa!” Morro replied, he rolled over and pushed himself to the floor, flopping onto the cold wood tile, listening to Lloyd’s small giggle at the action. After a few seconds he got up and grabbed Lloyd, lifting him off the couch and putting him on his feet, grabbing his smaller hand and pulling him along as they approached the kitchen.

Once the brothers entered the kitchen Morro watched his father scoop Lloyd up in his arms and set him on a chair, morro on the other hand walked over to a chair and pulled himself up.

“Im a big boy, I can put myself on chairs, I don’t need papa to carry me like Lloyd does!” Morro announced proudly, his hands on his hips and his chest puffed out.

“Papa mo is being a meanie!” Lloyd whined and pouted, crossing his arms and looking away from Morro with a frustrated expression on his small features.

Garmadon in response to his children’s antics, he walked over to Morro and ruffled his hair. “Such a big kid already huh? Im guessing you’ll be making your own food aswell since you’re all grown up?” He remarked playfully, he knew his son all too well to know that he didn’t want to be anywhere near the stove.

”no!” Morro quickly spluttered and grabbed his father’s arm.

Garmadon chuckled and smiled down at the small boy. “Enough joking around, eat your food before it gets cold Morro.” He stated, satisfied when Morro almost immediately let go of his arm and started eating the food on his plate.

Once the children finished eating their father had shooed them off to go play as he grabbed a book and sat in a rocking chair in his room.

Morro had happily accepted the request and started gathering his supplies, grabbing crayons, colored pencils, glitter gel pens, and of course some sheets of paper.

He sat down on the floor in the living room and started doodling on the papers, he drew a forest with a little bear in it, he drew a house burning down, he drew a dragon, and he even drew a little family portrait with him, Lloyd, and his papa all holding hands! He was proud of his work and grabbed the papers, running off to his and his brothers room and grabbing some tape, taping the drawings to the wall next to his bed alongside more drawings he had taped up on the same wall previously.

Morro turned around to leave his and Lloyd’s shared room but stopped when he saw his brother looking at him through the doorway with a huge blinding smile.

”hey Lloyd, need something?” Morro spoke, walking over to his brother and looking down at him.

”I wanna draw like you mo!” Lloyd basically squealed with anticipation and excitement as he spoke.

Morro winched from the high pitched sound and groaned dramatically. “Fineee!”

His brother only squealed more like a squirrel on helium, he was making Morro’s ears hurt, why did such a small person have to make such a loud noise?!

Lloyd ran off too where Morro had left his art supplies and the eldest of the brothers trailed behind the youngest.

Once the duo had reached the supplies Morro handed Lloyd a sheet of paper, a green gel pen and an orange gel pen, a blue crayon, and a pink colored pencil. Keeping the rest of the supplies for himself.

Morro watched his brother draw, giving him small tips here and there but otherwise his brother was quite the artist, not that’s he’s better than Morro, and he’d definitely never admit his thoughts on his brother’s artwork to his face.

Morro was halfway done with his own drawing when Lloyd finished his own.

”can I hang mine up on the wall like you do mo?” Lloyd asked innocently as he held up his drawing of a flower field.

Morro nodded in agreement. “Let me finish mine first and then we can go hang it up together.”

Lloyd giggled happily and sat down next to his brother, silently watching Morro draw with a toothy smile.

Once morro had finished he stood up and grabbed his brother’s hand, leading him back to the shared room.

The two reached their bedroom room and Lloyd started trying to find the perfect spot for his drawing while Morro grabbed the tape.

”perfect! Gimme some tape mo!” Lloyd yelled out to his brother happily.

Morro smiled and walked over to Lloyd, ripping some tape from the roll and handing it to Lloyd, watching as his brother stuck the drawing to the wall.

”it’s awesome! Thanks mo!”

“no problem Lu.”

Morro reached down and patted his brother’s head as he smiled up at him with that same huge sappy smile.

Whilst the two brothers were playing their father came up to them with two plates, both plates had consisted of cut up strawberries, ravioli, a cookie and a juice box, Morro’s was orange juice and Lloyd’s was apple since that was their preferred flavors.

”thanks papa!” Morro responded before he stuffed a fork containing ravioli on it in his mouth.

”thank you!” Lloyd responded aswell and instead of eating the ravioli he started stuffing the strawberries in his mouth like a wild animal.

Garmadon smiled at the two as he watched them eat, they finished the food quickly and handed the empty plates towards their father. Garmadon took the plates and left the room heading back to the kitchen.

Lloyd grabbed the action figure he discarded when their dad came in and started playing with it again, Morro copying the motion and grabbing his own discarded action figure and playing with his brother.

around ten minutes of playtime later their dad came back and scooped up Lloyd, making him drop the action figure.

”WAH!”

Garmadon only chuckled at his son’s reaction as he set him in his bed. “C’mon child, someone as small as you is required to take a nap after lunch.” The father had claimed.

Lloyd whined in response mumbling about not being sleepy as he shifted onto his side, instead of resisting he quickly fell asleep when his head hit the pillow.

Garmadon shook his head with a playful tsking noise before pushing Lloyd’s hair away from his forehead with his hand and softly kissed his forehead before standing up to his full height, walking over to Morro and lifting him up into his arms, walking out of the room.

Morro leaned against his dad’s chest, letting himself be carried away from the room.

Garmadon sat down in his usual rocking chair that was next to a bookshelf, sitting Morro in his lap comfortably, he pulled out a book from the shelf and opened it.

”would you like me to read this aloud for you aswell morro?”

Morro perked up and nodded quickly with a smile, “Yes papa!” He replied almost instantly.

Garmadon cleared his throat and started reading the story.

Morro didn’t need naps anymore unlike Lloyd, so he was used to getting time alone with his dad, and being sat in his dad’s lap as he was reading a story out loud was one of those times, the story was about about a dragon and an oni that became friends.

Morro slowly started becoming invested in the story, gasping when something dramatic happened and making an ‘ooo’ noise whenever he thought a part was interesting, otherwise he was focused on listening to his dad’s softly spoken words.

He always found his fathers voice relaxing, it was the voice he’d want to hear if he got hurt or had a nightmare, he enjoyed and appreciated the gentle approach his father took with him and his brother, almost never raising his voice at the duo or sounding aggressive towards them.

The father and son enjoyed the calm moment, normally something was going on like Morro attempting to climb a shelf or Lloyd getting into the jar of sugar and eating it all but right now it was calm, the only sounds being garmadon reading and the birds chirping outside.

“Dad?”

”yes Lloyd?”

”I spilled the container of legos on the floor when I tried taking it down from the shelf in the closet.”

“Why did you want legos in the first place?..”

”boredom.”

Ah yes, a chaotic note at the end because I didn’t want to end it off calmly because chaos is superior.

I hope you enjoyed the first actual part of this fic! The drama will definitely be kicking up when I get the next chapter out;3

Chapter Text

Morro and Lloyd were waiting at the door for a very special guest, their father was setting the table for dinner.

”I can’t wait!” Lloyd yelled in anticipation, flapping his arms around and bouncing on his feet.

morro never understood how his younger brother always had so much energy. “He should be here soon.”

there was a knock at the door, almost immediately Lloyd squealed happily as Morro started unlocking the door. He opened it to see an older man, with white hair.

”UNCLEEE!” Lloyd screamed and quickly hugged the man.

”hello there young Lloyd, hello Morro.” He spoke, greeting the two brothers, patting Lloyd’s head before he finally released their uncle.

”hello uncle, papa’s setting the table right now but he should be done soon.” Morro spoke, a smile on his face as he closed and locked the door when Wu finally stepped in from the doorway.

The older man nodded in understanding, Lloyd grabbed his hand and started pulling him to the dining room while blabbering about random things, Morro didn’t pay attention to his younger brother and trailed behind the two.

When the three got to the kitchen they saw Garmadon setting down a tray of dumplings, he caught eye contact with his brother and smiled.

”hello Wu, you’re welcome to sit down as I’ve just finished setting up the table.” Garmadon spoke, pulling out a chair for his brother and then walking over to the group and easily scooping up Lloyd.

Wu laughed quietly and sat down in the seat, putting his hands in his lap.

Morro quickly pulled himself onto a chair as he watched his father set his brother down on a chair and then sit down next to his uncle.

Garmadon and Wu quickly started making conversation, the youngest of the group served himself food and started stuffing said food in his face.

Morro slowly served himself aswell, he wasn’t in a rush to devour his meal like his brother was.

“So when are you finally get those pupils you’ve been wanting?” Garmadon spoke, Morro perked up and started listening to the older men’s conversation.

”ah, I’ve been searching for them for a bit now but It seems that I can’t find the location of the future ninja.” Wu spoke.

”hmm, you’ve never been one to give up, I’m sure you’ll find the elementals children even if it takes years.” Garmadon laughed.

”ninja? I wanna be a ninja! Uncle can you make me a ninja?!” Morro quickly interrupted the conversation, his eyes basically sparkling as he thought of himself being a cool ninja, defeating bad guys.

Lloyd coughed as he choked on his food at his brother’s sudden intervention, “huh? Uncle’s making Mo a ninja?” Lloyd spoke, his voice laced with confusion.

Wu took a sip of the cup of tea garmadon had set down on the table a bit ago, “no, I am not making Morro a ninja.” Wu set down the tea, speaking firmly.

”what? Why not?! I’m the perfect student!” Morro quickly fought back, clearly upset at being denied.

”I’m sorry nephew but you do not have any elemental powers, nor do you have what it takes to be a ninja.” Wu responded.

Morro was clearly getting upset, he was strong, he was determined, what did powers have to do anything? He could be a ninja without powers!

“Son, just continue eating, this conversation doesn’t involve you.” Garmadon tried calming the situation down but that only made Morro increasingly frustrated.

”NO! ILL PROVE YOU WRONG!” Morro suddenly had an outburst, angrily standing up from his seat and running out of the dining room.

Garmadon quickly stood up and tried to follow his son, but Wu stopped him.

“Leave him be, he’ll come to his senses soon.” Wu tried reassuring his brother.

Garmadon sighed in frustration, sitting back down, the room fell in a blanket of silence, the only noises being the clinking of utensils.

Morro ran into his room, slamming his door and quickly punching the wall.

he stomped and started throwing around his toys and plushies, destroying his side of his and his brothers room.

“IM SPECIAL ENOUGH TO BE A NINJA, UNCLES WRONG!” Morro yelled, he suddenly had a very, very, bad idea.

”I’ll just run away and go find a villain, I’ll defeat the villain, and prove them all wrong!” Morro announced and grabbed a small black backpack, grabbing snacks from the table his father had always kept snacks on for him and Lloyd so they didn’t have to leave if they got hungry, he grabbed some clothes from his closet and stuffed them in the bag aswell, he hesitated grabbing a toy but decided he would be back for them later.

Once he was done Morro threw the bag over his shoulder and ran out of his room, sneaking past the entrance of the dining room, he unlocked the door and ran out, leaving the door wide open as he started running away from the house, determined to prove his father and uncle wrong.

Morro stopped running when the house wasn’t in sight anymore, he was in the wilderness, it wasn’t heavily forested enough to be considered a forest but there was enough trees, bushes, and small critters to be considered as the wilderness, morro walked next to a small stream, he didn’t really know where he was going but he had high hopes that he would find a villain.

he was walking for quite a while, wondering if his family had noticed that he was gone yet or if they just didn’t care enough to check where he was.

On the other end, back at the house, the three had finished their food and now were just sitting in silence.

”I’m gonna go check on Mo..” Lloyd whispered, getting up from his seat and walking away too his room.

once the child was no longer in sight Garmadon looked towards his brother.

”you couldn’t have tried to let him down gently? He’s just a child brother.”

“Just because he is a child does not mean I have to sugarcoat my words for him.” Wu stated bluntly.

Garmadon growled lowly, “you’ve always been so selfish, I should’ve known it was a bad idea to invite you over.” He stood up, pushing his chair in.

Wu opened his mouth to reply but was interrupted by a loud high pitched scream, his eyes widened and he quickly stood up.

Garmadon recognized the scream, that was from his youngest son, he quickly broke into a sprint, worried for both his children.

Wu followed after his brother, less panicked than Garmadon but still worried.

the two men ran into the living room where the door was wide open and Lloyd was standing infront of it with a horrified expression.

Garmadon went over to his son, crouching down to his height and grabbing him by the shoulders turning his son to look at him. “Lloyd what’s wrong? Why’s the door open?”

”m-mo! He wasn’t in our room and his side of the room was trashed so I went to the living room to check if he was there a-and the door’s open!” Lloyd spoke, his voice panicked and filled with worry as tears welled in his eyes.

Garmadon’s eyes widened, realizing the situation, he looked at Wu.

Wu looked back, looking just as shocked and slightly guilty aswell.

it had been a few days since Morro’s disappearance, Garmadon had been going out nonstop looking for his eldest son, leaving his brother to watch over his youngest.

Lloyd was devastated, he cried for hours after the first day morro was gone, he wanted his brother back, and he wanted his family to go back to being happy, he absolutely despised his uncle aswell, it was all his fault morro was gone.

Wu had stayed at the Garmadon household to help his brother since the disappearance of his nephew was mostly his fault, so to make up for it he watched over his younger nephew, but the younger constantly shoved his uncle to the side, angry and completely blaming his uncle for the disappearance of his brother.

currently Wu was outside of Lloyd’s room, knocking on the door with a plate of food in hand.

“Go away!” The younger yelled out from inside the room.

”as you wish, I’ll leave your food at the door.” Wu responded, he placed the plate at the bottom of the door and left.

Lloyd listened as he heard his uncles footsteps slowly disappear, once he no longer heard the sound of footsteps he wiped his tears from his face with his sleeve and stood up from where he was sitting on Morro’s bed, going over to the door, opening in and grabbing the food, he quickly closed the door again and brought the food over to Morro’s bed, sitting down and slowly eating the meal.

Lloyd missed his dad’s cooking, his uncle’s just wasn’t the same, he also missed playing with his brother before eating, he even missed the way his dad forced him to take a nap after eating.

Home didn’t feel like home anymore, his home was his brother and father, and right now both of them weren’t here for two different reasons.

It was getting late, Morro needed shelter, he normally had slept in caves so naturally he was looking for one that wasn’t inhabited with an animal, especially after he nearly got attacked by a bear but he had gotten away.

Morro had lost his belongings a while ago, he had set them down and went to sleep and when he woke up with his bag completely missing, he missed home but he needed to prove himself first, that was his only reason for continuing his journey.

He came upon a cave and carefully ventured into the cave, looking around, it was unnaturally warm but Morro enjoyed the warmth, he continued looking around, noticing that there wasn’t any animals at all in the caves, he was confused as to why but he didn’t complain.

He sat down against the wall of the cave, closing his eyes and sighing at the warmth radiating from the cave.

Morro fell asleep comfortably, dreaming of being in his father’s embrace with Lloyd asleep next to them as they watched a movie together.

Suddenly Morro jerked awake, the cave was getting warmer, a lot warmer, he looked around in confusion and gasped sharply, flinched back as the entrance he had came in from collapsed and the cave started shaking.

Morro looked around the cave and saw the hole he had completely ignored started glowing red, his eyes widened as he tilted his head in confusion, crawling over to the hole but stopped when the cave started shaking again, morro fell back into a sitting position.

It was getting hotter by the seconds, morro felt as though he was melting, he looked at his hands as tears gathered in his eyes.

the tears quickly evaporated and Morro coughed, rubbing his eyes, his eyes burned and ached, he was so hot.

He started feeling dizzy, he shut his eyes tightly and tried to scream but all that came out was a sharp gasp, he felt as though he was on fire.

And that’s what was happening, Morro only felt burning pain before he blacked out.

Garmadon returned home for the night, opening the door with his key. Seeing his brother on the couch watching some type of documentary, he ignored the other man and walked to his room.

He entered his room, looking at the picture of him, misako, and his sons.

Frowning, he picked up the photo, hugging it and then setting it back down on the bedside table.

he laid down on his bed, staring up at the roof. He’ll find his son, he had too.

He slipped into the land of dreams, but he had no dreams, only nightmares of his son dying, scared and alone.

Garmadon gasped sharply, sitting up, he was sweating and breathing heavily, he looked to his side, seeing his small son with a sad frown on his face instead of his usual smile.

”papa..? Can I sleep with you tonight..” Lloyd asked, looking up at his father, tightly hugging Morro’s dragon plushie.

Garmadon’s gaze softened as he saw his son, he nodded, picking Lloyd up from under his arms and sat his son down beside him.

Lloyd quickly pulled the covers over himself and curled into his fathers side.

Garmadon wrapped an arm around his son, he pitied his poor child, their life had been so suddenly flipped upside down, it was a most likely traumatizing experience for the boy.

Lloyd fell asleep quickly, he had been skipping his naps so he was more tired than usual.

His father on the other hand just stayed awake, staring at the wall while holding his son in his arms, he’ll get Morro back, if not for his own sake but his son’s aswell.

Morro woke up in a weird world, he looked around in confusion, he saw transparent green people around and quickly realized that he had died in that stupid cave, he stomped in frustration, he stayed there for a bit, upset and worried about his brother and father.

after a while Morro gave up on his self pity, there was no point, he was dead and there was nothing to do that could change it.

So he started walking, he didn’t know where but he didn’t care, his legs moved automatically, like his legs knew where they wanted to go more than Morro himself.

He walked for a while before coming up on a huge rib cage thing, there was an enormous and disgusting eyeball in the middle, looking at him.

Morro grimaced and stuck his tongue out, “Ew! What the heck is that thing?!” He insulted.

She payed no mind to the insult since instead of the teenager he was supposed to be when he got here he arrived early and as a child, “hello Morro, I am the preeminent, and I’ve been waiting for you for a long time..” she spoke towards him, her voice sultry yet menacing.

Morro rolled his eyes and looked up at her, “you’re gross, what do you want from me so much that you’ve apparently been waiting for me?” Morro questioned suspiciously.

”you have abilities that no one else knows about, and I can help you practice them.” She responded. “the only price is your loyalty to me.”

“Wait, you’re telling me that uncle was wrong?! Teach me! Sure I’ll be loyal to you or whatever, just teach me!” Morro yelled, instantly falling into her trap.

She quickly had him wrapped around her finger, “as you wish child.” She responded.

Morro was gonna prove everyone wrong, he was going to be the best.. not ninja, villain sounded better, he was going to be the best villain known and take revenge on his uncle for getting him killed.

“We will start tomorrow, I have to prepare, I was not expecting you to arrive so soon. For now you may explore, I will call you when I am ready my child.” She once again stated.

Morro smiled mischievously, “okay!” He ran off, walking around for a bit before finding an abandoned looking street, he laid down on the road, looking up at the green and purple sky.

he was going to make his uncle pay, but he’s dead right now and unable to reach him.

Untitled354-20240804050838

So for now, he waits, laying on this stupid road for his chance to get his revenge.
