"Jungkook-ssi?"
The mentioned one lifted his head up weakly, looking at the doctor with red-rimmed eyes. Jungkook has been sitting in the hospital's plastic chair for exactly 7 hours 43 minutes and 21 seconds. He counted.
"Yes? Is he o-okay?"
The doctor sighed and pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.
"The situation isn't looking good. He lost a lot of blood. We managed to save the baby, but he is in critical condition. He's too small to be carrying term and the baby is slightly malnourished. I will have to keep him here for more observation."
Jungkook slumped into his seat. His mate and child was in danger because of him. Just because he couldn't control his rage and lust.
"Thank you, Dr Kim. Really, thank you so much."
The beta smiled sadly.
"I've done my best. Now it's up to your mate."
Jungkook sat beside the pale omega, his large hands playing with small fingers.
"I'm sorry, Jimin-ah."
The alpha's voice strained when the emotions started building up.
"Really, I'm so so sorry. Please forgive me."
Jungkook pressed the other's hand to his forehead, tears welling up at the coldness.
"Please. Please forgive me."
The tears spilled over the waterline, making trails of regret as they travelled down the alpha's cheeks.
"Please wake up. I'm sorry. I don't deserve you."
Jungkook sat there that day, regret and shame festering his entire being. He couldn't look at the omega's face for more than mere seconds before turning away, the guilt threatening to choke him to death.
"Please."
