Chapter Text

(outside the prism cave in Green Hill)

While Sonic is currently busy talking to the slow-mowed versions of his friends, Nine, Sails, Mangey, and Birdie are outside the cave, arguing.

Nine: Ugh! I can't believe you two!

Sails: You can't believe us?! Ye be the one that went after them without saying anything!

Birdie: *angry bird sounds*

Sails: Oh, yeah, and to mention, ye bumped into Boscage Maze Birdie, and now she be stuck here, too!

Nine: All 3 of us bumped into her, Sails!

Mangey: *barks to try to calm down his counterparts*

Nine and Sails: NOT NOW, MANGEY!

Mangey: *whines*

The quartet see a green flash inside the cave twice, and then, see a blue blur running out of it.

Sails: Wait, was that?

Nine: Sonic?

Sails: Let's hope we don't get spotted by the origin-

???: Ahem!

The quartet turn, and see Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge have exited the cave.

Knuckles: Tails, why do those three foxes sorta look like you?

Tails: I'm not really sure, myself!

Rouge: This day just keeps getting weirder!

Amy: I agree with Rouge! First Sonic saying that he missed everybody, and now this?!

Nine perks up when he hears Amy say 'Sonic'.

Nine: Wait, did you just say 'Sonic'?! You mean he's alive?!

Amy: Uh... yeah?

Tails: Uh... Sonic! We need a little help, here!

Sonic returns, and sees Nine, Mangey, Sails, and Birdie.

Sonic: What the?!

Nine: Sonic! *runs to the blue hedgehog, and hugs him*

Sonic: *hugs Nine back* Glad to see you too, Nine.

The other two Tails variants join in on the hug.

Tails: Ahem! I'd hate to ruin such a emotional moment, but we would like some explaining!

Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge: Yeah!

The other 3 foxes let go of Sonic.

Sonic: Right. Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge, I'd like you all to meet Tails Nine, Mangey Tails, and Sails Tails! I had met them in a different timeline, or universe, I guess, and I'm not really sure how they got here. *Birdie screeches* Right, right. You too, Boscage Birdie! Care to explain, you three?

Nine: Well, you see, I was scared that the Roses and Shadow weren't gonna get you to the gateway in time, so I followed you. But little did I know that these two were following me. And then, when I did notice them, we had tumbled into one another, and then Birdie got tangled in, so now we're here.

Sonic: What about the Roses?

Sails: We're not really sure where Rusty, Thorn, and Black ended up, if they even did get thrown into the gateway as well!

Mangey: *sad barks*

Nine: And, without the prism, we're stuck here!

Sonic: Well, that's bad. Because Shadow just Chaos Controlled the prism to an unknown location.

Nine: Oh come on!

Sails: Aw, barnacles! (yes, this is a Spongebob reference, but Sails is a pirate, so I thought it would be funny if he said that when upset.)

Mangey: *whines*

Shadow Chaos Controls back to them, and sees the 3 foxes and giant flicky.

Shadow: How did- You know what, I'm not even gonna ask. I don't really want to know.

Nine: Where are we even gonna be living? I was raised in a city, Sails was born in a world that's almost completely underwater...

Knuckles: Uh, what does he mean by 'almost'?

Sails: The only patch of land in No Place is a singular island.

Knuckles: Ah.

Nine: And Mangey was literally raised in the jungle!

Mangey: *itches away fleas*

Tails: You 3 can live with me, since we're practically family! But first, we're gonna have to give Mangey a bath! He stinks, and probably has fleas!

A flea flies from Mangey's fur right past Tails.

Tails: Correction: he definitely has fleas!

Mangey flies off after realizing what Tails was saying.

Tails: Hey! Get back here! *flies after Mangey*

Sails: I'd better go help him!

Nine: But what about me?

Sails: Ye just stay here, and meet the rest of the originals! Plus, ye and Sonic still need to heal your friendship!

Nine: But-

Sails: No buts, Nine! Now I've gotta go! *flies off after Tails and Mangey*

Now Nine's only company was Sonic, Birdie, Shadow, and 3 complete strangers. This is not how Nine thought his first day here would go. Then again, he didn't think he'd tumble into the Green Hills gateway, either.

Sonic: Okay then... Nine, why don't you introduce yourself?

Nine snaps out of his trance when he hears Sonic's voice.

Nine: (thinks: Introduce myself? Is that what they do here when meeting someone new?) Oh, uh... Hi. As Sonic had explained, my name is Tails Nine Prower, but you can just call me Nine for short. I am a two-tailed anthropomorphic fox with seven mechanical tails and am an alternate version of Miles "Tails" Prower from another dimension, who resides underground in New Yoke City. I am one of the many variations of Tails created by the shattering of the Paradox Prism. I-I'm not much into talking about myself, so that's it.

Sonic gives Nine a noogie.

Sonic: It's okay, bud! You'll get used to it in no time!

Nine: *outstretches one of his mechanical tails behind Sonic's head* Sonic, take your knuckle off my head, or you're gonna lose that hand!

Sonic quickly retracts his hand from Nine's head, and Nine lowers the mechanical tail.

Sonic: You weren't actually gonna do that, right?

Nine: Not unless I have to. But, I have no intention of hurting you at the moment, so that was just a warning. Next time, I won't take it as easy!

Knuckles: Wow, emo much?

Nine: *outstretches all 7 of his mechanical tails this time, but pointed at Knuckles* Watch it, echidna!

Knuckles: Gulp.

Nine: *rests all 7 mechanical tails* Did he just-

Sonic: Say gulp? Yep. He's not the brightest tool in the shed. Trust me.

(I know Knuckles was only an idiot in Sonic Boom, but I liked idiot Knuckles more, so I brought him back!)

Sails and Tails return, with a now flea-less Mangey in Tails arms.

Sails: Wow. Even Dread's brighter than him! And he's a variant of him!

Nine storms over to them.

Nine: *groans* Sails! I can't believe you left me like that!

Sails: Hey, Tails needed some help! I couldn't just stand there! Not to mention how hard it was to bathe Mangey!

Mangey: *growls*

Sonic: Mangey! Here boy!

Mangey hears Sonic calling out for him, and runs to the blue hedgehog, who pets him.

Sonic: That's a good boy!

Mangey: *barks*

Tails: Uh...

Sails: Without your vast intelligence, Tails, unlike me and Nine, Mangey is all feral animal instincts, scratching and sniffing and when he tries to talk, he either barks, chitters, whimpers or snarls.

Tails: Ah, yeah. That explains it.

Sonic: I actually heard him say a word once!

Tails, Nine, and Sails: You did?!

Sonic: I mean, barely. But when I said that Amy would say we should talk about our feelings, Mangey said feelings, nearly clear as day!

Mangey: *barks*

Amy: Well, I'm glad you mentioned me in that!

Sonic: *blushes* Ames! I almost forgot that you were here! Heh heh... I'm uh... I'm gonna go!

Sonic runs off.

Amy: *groans* Boys sometimes! *storms off*

Nine, Mangey, and Sails look over at Tails after Amy leaves.

Nine: Wait, does Sonic-

Tails: Have a crush on Amy? Yep.

Sails: Then why did the landlubber run off?

Tails: He's just running away from his feelings. He doesn't wanna admit that he has a crush on Amy, but it's getting pretty obvious by now. And Amy's just oblivious to it!

Nine and Sails: That explains the way he acted around the Roses!

Tails: Who are these 'Roses' you're talking about, anyways?

Nine: They're the Amy variants in the Shatterverse. They treat each other like sisters! Their names are Rusty Rose, Thorn Rose, and Black Rose. *Birdie squawks* Oh, and Thorn's Birdie's owner.

Sails: We don't know what happened to the three of them. We know they were on one of the shards in the Shatterverse, but we only know that Birdie ended up here!

Mangey: *worried whines*

Nine: Yeah, I hope they're safe, too, Mangey.

(with the Rose trio)

Black: Oye, I be having a terrible headache!

Rusty: *gets up* Come on, Black, it wasn't that bad!

Thorn: *upset* WASN'T THAT BAD?! We are stuck here, and we've lost Birdie, and you say it wasn't that bad?!

Rusty: Okay, you make a good point. But, at least we're alive!

Thorn: *groans* I guess you've got a point there.

Black: Come on, sisters! Let's find us some hardbread!

Black Rose runs off to find 'hardbread'.

Thorn: Hardbread?

Rusty: I'm guessing that's what pirates call food?

Black: *shouts* Hey! You two coming or what?!

Thorn: *shouts* Not easy when my bird is missing!

Rusty: Get on.

Thorn: Wait, you want me to ride you?

Rusty: Your main mode of transport is gone, so it's the least I can do.

Thorn: Okay then... *gets on Rusty*

Rusty stretches her legs upwards, and starts walking. They catch up to Black, and see some normal-sized flickies along the way.

Rusty and Black: Huh.

(back with the main group)

Birdie and Tails are keeping watch up above, while everyone else eats some chili dogs. Well, everyone else but Nine, because, as he has previously verbally stated in Sonic Prime Season 3, he hates chili dogs.

Sonic: Come on, Nine! At least try one!

Nine: I have tried one before, Sonic! And I did not like it!

Sonic: Aw, come on! Trust me, the chili dogs here most definitely taste better than the ones in New Yoke!

Nine: Nope! Not falling under peer pressure! *flies off*

Sonic: Three... two...

Before Sonic could get to one, one of Nine's mechanical tails stretches downwards, and the spiked end stabs into a chili dog. Sonic looks upwards, and sees Nine in a nearby tree, who lifts the chili dog up to himself, un-attaching it from the mechanical tail, cleaning the chili off afterwards. Nine sees Sonic looking up at him.

Nine: T-this doesn't mean anything! Just because I took one, doesn't mean I'll try it! So stop pressuring me!

Sonic giggles at his friend's actions, before walking away from the tree. Once Nine sees that Sonic is fully gone, he takes a bite of the chili dog, his eyes widening at the flavor.

Nine: Whoa! Sonic was right! These do taste better than the ones in New Yoke! *gobbles up the rest of the chili dog*

Nine lowers down the mechanical tail again, this time the spiked end stabs through 3 chili dogs, and he lifts them up to himself. Sonic returns, and sees that Nine has gotten 3 more chili dogs since he left.

Sonic: Ha! I knew you'd like them!

Nine cleans off the chili from the mechanical tail before glaring down at Sonic.

Nine: Shut up. *gobbles down the chili dogs one at a time before using his mechanical tails to climb down from the tree*

Birdie: *squawks of alarm*

Tails: Guys! There's some kind of tall-legged robot coming towards us!

Nine and Sonic: Tall leg- Rusty!

Sails: So the Roses did get thrown into the gateway, too!

Black Rose enters the area.

Black: Hey, do ye have any hard- *sees the pirate two-tailed fox* Sails!

Sails: Black!

(just ignore Dread on Black's left.)

Sails: Boy is it good to see ye're okay, captain!

Black: It's good to see I'm not the only one of me crew that's here! Also, we be hungry! *sees chili dogs* Ooh! Sea dogs!

Sonic: Actually, they're chili dogs!

Black: Eh. Whatever. Hey, why do they look slightly messed up?

Sails: That would be because of he. *points to Nine with his robot arm*

Nine: Tattletale.

Sonic sees Nine slightly blushing from the sight of Black.

Sonic: Ooh! Nine's got a crush!

Nine: What?! No I don't! Sh-shut up! *turns away*

Birdie: *sees Black, and squawks down to her*

Black: *hears Birdie, and sees her up above* Ah! There ye be, Birdie!

Birdie flies down, and Thorn and Rusty soon arrive. Thorn sees Birdie, and Rusty lowers her legs back to her normal height, allowing Thorn to run over to her giant flicky.

Thorn: Birdie! I was so worried about you! Don't disappear like that ever again!

Birdie: *happily squawks*

Later on, nobody had seen Shadow ever since he had Chaos Controlled away the paradox prism. And Nine, despite his new love of chili dogs, and his newfound crush on Black Rose, was getting bored.

Nine: *groans* Is there anything interesting to do around here?!

Like Tails had suggested, Nine, Sails, and Mangey started living with him, with Sonic visiting every so often. Sure, there were the comics that Tails allows him and Sails to read (Mangey doesn't know how to read yet, so Tails and Sonic just got him picture books), but even those didn't keep Nine entertained for long.

Nine: TAILS!

Tails: Let me guess. You're bored?

Nine: Yes! More than you'd think! I've read these comics more than 4 dozen times! I mean, don't get me wrong, these comics are awesome, but I'd like to do something new for once!

Tails: *sighs* Come down, I think I have a project you, Sails, and Mangey can work on together!

Nine: Okay?

Nine flies down to the main floor, where Tails, Sails, and Mangey were waiting for him. Tails sees the jungle and pirate two-tailed foxes behind him.

Tails: Oh, good! You're both already here! That saves me some effort!

Nine: What's this project you talked about? How can the three of us do a project together if Mangey can't even read?!

Mangey: *howls*

Nine: You know it's true, you feral thing!

Tails: Don't worry! He'll be looking at the blueprints! Trust me, I made these blueprints so easy that even a toddler can understand them! *hands Mangey the blueprints*

Mangey: *confused bark, then understanding bark*

Tails: See? He already gets it!

Sonic runs into the lab.

Sonic: Hey foxes! Got some more comics and picture books for you four!

Tails: Thanks, Sonic. You know where to put them!

Sonic runs over to the desk, and places down the new comics and picture books down beside it, then runs back to the fox quartet.

Sonic: So, what are you guys doing today?

Nine: Apparently, some type of project. Tails hasn't explained what it is yet, though. So far, he's only given Mangey the apparently easiest blueprints to understand.

Mangey: *howls*

The other two foxes (that's Nine and Sails, Tails is just watching in the background) and Sonic go over to Mangey, and see that the project's blueprint is some kind of... communication device?

Sails: A communication device? Why in the world would we need one of those? (yay! Sails' first line in this chapter!)

Tails: Well, last night, I had thought that we would need to have some kind of way of contacting the variants of Knuckles, Rouge, and Big, so I thought up an idea of a cross-dimensional, or cross-shatterverse-al communication device, and we can make multiple so we can all communicate with them.

Sails: Wait, so ye're helping, too?

Tails: Hey, with Mangey being the one looking at the blueprints, someone has to! Plus, I don't want another argument between the two of you! Mangey told me about your argument outside the Paradox Prism's cave.

Nine and Sails: Touche.

Tails: Okay! Let's get to work! Safety goggles on! *puts on a pair of safety goggles*

Nine and Sails put on their own pairs of safety goggles. Mangey just sniffs at one of them.

Tails: *giggles at Mangey's actions* It's okay, Mangey. You don't have to wear one! You're just looking at the blue prints! Just don't stand too close to us, okay?

Mangey: *understanding bark*

Mangey backs away from the other 3 foxes, with Sonic joining him not long after.

(a few hours later)

After a few hours, the communication watches were finished! And Tails, Nine, and Sails were exhausted.

Tails: *wipes sweat off his forehead* Phew! That's the last of them!

Nine: That was awesome! Sure, it took us a few hours to finish them, but it killed my boredom! *stomach grumbles* Boy, all this work has made me hungry!

Tails, Sails, and Mangey's stomachs start grumbling, too.

Tails and Sails: Same.

Mangey: *whines in hunger*

Sonic runs in with a plate of chili dogs.

Sonic: Did somebody say 'hungry'?

They all each take a chili dog, with Nine taking his with a mechanical tail, like usual, before de-attaching the chili dog, and cleaning off the chili from the mechanical tail. They all gobble down their chili dogs, and Mangey lets out a burp afterwards.

Sonic, Tails, Nine, and Sails: Mangey!

Mangey: *apologetic barks*

Tails: Alright, time to test if these things work! *turns on his Prism Watch (that's the name of the communication watch, just so you know.)* Hello? Can anyone hear me?

The 4 foxes and Sonic wait for a response from the other side, until they finally got one.

???: Hello? Yes, we can hear you!

Nine recognizes the voice as Rebel Rouge.

Nine: Rebel?

Rebel: Nine? Is that you?

Renegade Knucks' voice chimes in soon after.

Knucks: You've got a lot of explaining to do, fox!

(Denizen 1998 is also there, he's just being silent, as he normally is.)

Nine: I know, I know! I will explain later on, I promise!

Tails: Are you and the other variants okay?

Knucks: Who's there with you, fox?

Nine: Just Mangey, Sails, Sonic, and Tails.

Rebel: Sonic's with you?

Sonic: Heya Rebel!

Knucks: Oh, thank goodness! It's good to hear that you're alive, Sonic.

Rebel: True that!

Tails: How were you two able to hear us? You don't have your own communication devices! Nor have a scientist to make one!

Rebel: We're hearing you guys over the radio.

Knucks: Despite the complaints from Prim, Gnarly, and Hangry!

Prim: Can you not have that up so loud?

Gnarly: It's the aliens, I tell you!

Yep. That 4th voice on the other side was Gnarly, alright!

Hangry: I'm so darn hungry!

Rebel: Hangry, it's not easy to get food at the moment! Especially since we're stuck in the Grim!

Hangry: *is sad*

Mangey: *hears his Boscage Maze friends, and barks to let them know he's there*

Prim, Gnarly, and Hangry: *hears Mangey's bark* Mangey?!

The Rose trio and Birdie soon arrive.

Tails: Oh, hey! Rusty, Thorn, Birdie, and Black just arrived!

Black: Who ye be talking to, matey?

They hear Dread's voice next.

Dread: Captain?

Black: Dread!

Sails: Boy is good to hear yer voice, Dread!

Dread: Same goes to the both of ye.

Baton's voice comes next.

Baton: Are you two, the other two Roses and foxes, and Birdie alright?

Rusty: We're fine, Baton.

Thorn: Indeed!

Birdie: *confirmation squawks*

Nine: All 7 of us here and accounted for!

Mangey: *howls*

They hear Catfish, who's still talking in that other voice, mumbling in the background.

Sonic: *laughs* And there's Catfish!

Sails: Our feline crew mate's current situation is nothing to laugh at, matey.

Sonic: Ahem. Right, right! Sorry! He just sounds so funny!

The screen starts going glitchy.

Tails: Guys! We're losing signal!

Nine: Sails, you did make sure to wire them correctly, didn't you?!

Sails: I thought that was your job?!

Birdie and Mangey separate the two before they could have another argument. Meanwhile, Tails looses complete connection to the other shatterverse variants, who are currently stuck in the Grim.

Tails: Dang it! We lost complete signal!

Nine, Sails, Rusty, Thorn, and Black: Aw, phooey!

Mangey: *howls of sadness*

Birdie: *disappointed screech*

Chapter Text

After losing connection to the other Shatterverse variants, Tails decided to fix the communication watches on his own. Meanwhile, Nine and Sails decided to teach Mangey how to read, and speak English. And that's other than just 'feelings'. Mangey had already learned to say Nine, Sails, Tails, and Sonic's names, but he still had to learn much more. He had also learned to say 3 other words/phrases.

Mangey: *walks over to Tails on all fours, and pulls on one of his tails* Tails.

Tails looks away from the communication watch, and looks down at Mangey.

Tails: What is it, Mangey?

Mangey: Hungry. (this means that Mangey's hungry)

Tails: I know, you've said that 2 dozen times already! Sonic's on his way with food, so don't worry! (and yes, Tails has been counting. Mangey, as of now, has now said 'hungry' 25 times.)

Mangey: *whimpers*

Before Tails could say anything, Sonic runs into the lab, holding a plate of chili dogs.

Sonic: Did someone say hungry?

Mangey: Sonic! *runs over to the blue hedgehog*

Sonic: *hands Mangey 5 chili dogs* Here you go, feral buddy!

Mangey: Thank ou! *gobbles up the 5 chili dogs lickitey-split, then burps* 'Scuse me. (these are another 2 things Nine and Sails taught him to say, especially when he burps (2nd) or is given something (1st))

Nine grabs 3 chili dogs with a mechanical tail, and Sonic throws him some napkins.

Sonic: So you don't have to wipe the chili off your mechanical tail with your hand this time!

Nine: Thanks Sonic! *takes the chili dogs off his mechanical tail, then wipes off the chili with the napkins*

Sails grabs his handful of chili dogs with his robot arm.

Sails: Thanks Sonic!

Tails grabs one of the last remaining chili dogs, while Sonic takes the last one.

Tails: You got here just in time, Sonic! I don't know if I could've handled Mangey saying 'hungry' for the 26th time!

Sonic: Oof.

Tails: Tell me about it!

After finishing his chili dog, Tails goes back to making repairs to the communication watches.

Sonic: So, how are the repairs going?

Tails: Not so good. Turns out, Mangey must've chewed up the wires while we weren't looking.

Sonic: Mangey!

Mangey: Sorry. (and there's the 7th word/phrase he learned)

Tails: Anyways, Sonic! How's it going with you and Amy?

Sonic: Uh... w-whatever do you mean?

Tails: Have you told her yet?

Sonic: Uhm... I have no idea what you're talking about?

Mangey goes back over to Nine and Sails, and the 3 of them and Tails give Sonic knowing looks.

Sonic: Tails, you didn't tell them, did you?

Tails: Nine asked, and I had to give his answer! I'm practically a big brother to the three of them, after all.

(Tails and variants age order: Tails (oldest), Nine (second oldest), Sails (second youngest), and Mangey (youngest))

Mangey: *barks, and runs off*

Nine: Mangey! Get back here! *runs after him*

Sails joins Nine in the pursuit of Mangey, while Sonic continues to ignore Tails' question.

Tails: Sonic, answer the question!

Sonic: *groans* Fine. I... haven't told her yet.

Tails: Sonic!

Sonic: I'm just too nervous to tell her, Tails! Sure, I know how she feels, but I'm not really sure about my own feelings!

Tails: *sighs* You're gonna have to tell her at some point!

Sonic: I know...

(later that night)

Sonic decided to sleep over for the night, but, little did him, Tails, Nine, Mangey, and Sails know... tonight was the night of the Were-Moon! Werehog Sonic falls out of his hammock in Tails' lab with a thud. He gets back on all fours.

Werehog Sonic: What the heck?

W.H. Sonic slowly goes into the bathroom, and sees his werehog reflection.

W.H. Sonic: What the?! *howls*

WS (Werehog Sonic)'s howling wakes up the fox quartet.

Nine: Mangey, please tell me that was you howling?

Mangey shakes his head no.

Nine: That's what I was afraid you'd silently answer.

Tails just gulps, while Sails gets out his sword. They slowly reach the bathroom, and see W.H. Sonic. Nine outstretches all 7 mechanical tails, Mangey gets into battle stance, and Sails points his sword at Werehog Sonic, while Tails just looks at him with a sad expression.

Tails: Sonic?

Nine and Sails: Huh?

Mangey: *confused bark*

W.H. Sonic turns his face, revealing his tear-filled green eyes.

W.H. Sonic: *runs to the 4 two-tailed foxes, and hugs Tails* Tails!

Tails: *pats W.H. Sonic on the head* Don't worry, buddy! We'll think of something!

The other 3 foxes just look at the scene in front of them with shocked expressions, with Nine retracting his mechanical tails, and Sails putting his sword away.

Nine: I-it really is Sonic!

Sails: What happened to him?

Mangey: *whimpers*

Tails: I sure hope it's not been 3 dozen years already!

Nine: What do you mean?

Tails exits the lab, with W.H. Sonic, Nine, Mangey, and Sails following him.

Outside, the group looks upwards, and sees that the moon is a goldish-red.

Tails: Oh no...

Nine: Tails, why does the moon look like that?! Why is it that color?!

Tails: It's... it's the Were-Moon! Every 3 dozen years, the Were-Moon rises, and turns any animal that's ever had a were-animal form into their were-animal form. And  unfortunately for Sonic, that goes for him, too.

Nine: Is... is there any way to turn Sonic back?

Tails: Not unless you wanna wait for the Were-Moon to set! Because, unlike other moons, the Were-Moon takes 12 whole hours after rising just to set!

Nine: Aw, man!

Sails: Aw, barnacles!

Mangey: *sad whines*

W.H. Sonic: *groans* If only Chip were still here!

Tails: Let's hope the others are still awake!

W.H. Sonic: How's Amy gonna react about this?

Tails: Probably pretty shocked, since, last time she saw you in this form, she thought she had mistaken you for, well, you, like she did with Shadow and Silver.

Nine: Okay, we know who Shadow is, but who's Silver?

Tails: We'll tell ya more about him later!

They hear a Chaos Control warp behind them, turn around, and see the familiar black and red hedgehog.

Tails: Shadow! We wondered where you went!

Shadow puts away the green chaos emerald.

Shadow: For your information, until now, I've been protecting the Paradox Prism from Eggman or anyone else who would try to take it. But then, a strange version of Sonic appeared, saying he would protect the prism in my absence, and that you guys would probably need my help, so I'm here.

Nine: A strange version of Sonic?

Tails: Nine, I thought you said that there were no Sonics in your Shatterspaces until Sonic arrived!

Nine: Not that we knew of! But, if Shadow saw one, there might be a slight possibility that they were brought here for some reason, and that's why no one's saw them in any of the 3 Shatterspaces. And I mean as in the Shatterspaces with life, not as in the ones that have no life at all, like Ghost Hill and the Grim. Well, the Grim was unpopulated, until I found it, and now the Rouges, Knuckleses, and Bigs and Froggies are there!

Tails: Time to call for a team meeting!

The others eventually arrive, and Amy sees W.H. Sonic.

Amy: It's the werehog I had confused for Sonic!

Tails: Uh, actually, Amy...

Amy: Huh?

Tails: That werehog is Sonic.

Amy: WHAT?!

A gray hedgehog suddenly teleports in alongside a purple cat.

Blaze: Silver, what did I say about RANDOMLY TELEPORTING?!

Silver: It's not my fault, Blaze! Sometimes my powers act up on their ow- *sees W.H. Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, Nine, Mangey, Sails, Rusty, Thorn, and Black* Uh... Blaze?

Blaze: Huh? *turns her head and sees the 12 others* Oh...

Nine: Let me guess, the gray hedgehog is the Silver guy that you mentioned?

Tails: That would be him, alright. And the cat with him is Blaze.

Blaze: Uh... nice to meet all 6 of you.

Silver: *teleports over to W.H. Sonic* Sonic? Why are you... this?

W.H. Sonic doesn't say anything, he just points upwards to the Were-Moon, which Silver and Blaze see.

Silver: Oh. Yeah, that makes sense! I went werehog in the future during the next Were-Moon!

Nine: How come you are-

Blaze: He was bitten by a were-deer.

Shadow: *facepalms* *groans* Of course he did.

Silver: *angry* I know it wasn't my finest moment, but I'm still here, and not as a werehog, so be glad for that!

Nine: Shadow, please be nice to the gray hedgehog...

Sails: I agree with Nine!

Mangey: *agreement howls*

Silver: Thank you, weird versions of Tails!

Shadow: I can't believe those 3 are trusting a complete stranger.

W.H. Sonic: Eh. You've gotta love Silver's enthusiasm! Also, Silver, meet Nine, Mangey, and Sails!

Nine: Hello!

Sails: Ahoy!

Mangey: *greetings bark*

Silver: Well, nice to meet all 3 of you! Also, what's with Mangey?

Nine: He was literally born in a jungle.

Silver: Ah, that explains why he's so feral. *sees the Roses and Boscage Birdie* And those four?

Rusty: Rusty Rose.

Thorn: Thorn Rose. *gestures to the giant pink flicky* And this is Birdie!

Birdie: *squawks*

Black: And I be Black Rose. Also, Tails, now would be a good time to fix the communication devices! Cause we could use Prim's wild animal experience right about now!

Tails: I would, if it weren't for Mangey currently messing with my tails!

The others see that Mangey is indeed playing with Tails' tails. Mangey stops, and sits down.

Mangey: Sorry...

Tails: Thank you. *fixes the Prism Watch* Okay, it should work now! *turns it on* Hello? Rebel? Prim? Heck, I'd even take Knucks, Gnarly, or Dread!

They eventually hear Rebel's voice.

Rebel: Tails?

Everyone in Green Hill except for Shadow, Silver, and Blaze rejoice.

Silver: Why... are you rejoicing?

Shadow: I'd like to know, too!

Blaze: You guys are confusing us!

Nine heads over to Shadow, Silver, and Blaze.

Nine: That's a Prism Watch. It allows us to communicate with the other Shatterverse versions. Because of Mangey, we hadn't been able to contact them up to this point after we first contacted them.

Tails: Rebel, can you get Prim for us? We need her help.

Rebel: Sure. Prim! Can you come over here?

They eventually hear Prim's voice.

Prim: What's going on, Rebel?

Rebel: Tails and the others need you for some reason.

They hear Rebel's footsteps leaving, and Prim going over to the radio.

Prim: Okay, what's going on, you guys?

Tails: Well, uh, we sorta got a Were-Moon problem.

Prim: Were-Moon?! But I thought that was only a myth! Who's turned into a were-animal?

Tails: Sonic, unfortunately.

W.H. Sonic: Hey, Prim.

Prim: Yikes. Werehogs can be pretty big!

Nine: *is currently being squished in between Tails and W.H. Sonic* Yeah, I can tell!

W.H. Sonic: *sees Nine* Oops! Sorry, Nine! *moves, making Nine un-squished*

Nine: *straightens his tuft, tails, and mechanical tails* Thanks.

W.H. Sonic: You okay, Nine? I didn't squish you too hard, did I?

Nine: I'm fine, Sonic. I'm not hurt that badly! *sees that one of his mechanical tails (the one he normally uses to get chili dogs) is bent* Darn it! Looks like I can't say the same about my mechanical tails!

Nine tries again to straighten the bent mechanical tail, but it still doesn't go back to its regular shape. It doesn't even come out when he extends out all 7 of his mechanical tails, meaning that he only extended out 6 out of 7 of his mechanical tails.

Nine: *to the mechanical tail* Ugh! Why must you be so frustrating?!

Silver: Uh...

Nine: Yes, I do realize I was talking to my mechanical tail! Don't judge, Silver!

Tails: *hangs up on the Prism Watch* Prim says she has no idea how to turn Sonic back. Like I mentioned, she said that the only known way is for the Were-Moon to set, but that's going to take a long time!

Nine: How long has it been since the Were-Moon rised?

Tails: *checks his timer* *is shocked* *disappointed tone* An hour and a half.

Sails: Aw, barnacles!

Nine: You mean we have TEN AND A HALF HOURS TIL THE WERE-MOON SETS?!

Mangey: Nine! *pleading barks (Please calm down!)*

W.H. Sonic: Anyone else getting hungry?

Nine raises his hand. Everyone looks at him with surprise.

Nine: What? There's such a thing as 'hanger'! Seriously, the Boscage Maze variant of Big is named 'Hangry'!

Shadow: I'll get the chili dogs. *Chaos Controls away, and returns with a plate of chili dogs*

Each of the others grabs a chili dog after Shadow places the plate down, with Tails grabbing two, the other one being for Nine.

Nine: *is given the chili dog by Tails* Tails, why did you get my chili dog for me?

Tails: The mechanical tail that you use to get your chili dogs is currently bent, so I wanted to help.

Nine: Wow... thanks, Tails. *takes a bite into the chili dog* *thinks* Nobody other than Sonic has shown me this much kindness! Is this what having multiple friends is like?

Tails: No prob! *takes a bite of his own chili dog* Sonic told me about your past. Unlike me, you were continuously bullied because no one was there to stand up for you, like Sonic did for me. I'm guessing you made those mechanical tails in order to defend yourself?

Nine: Yeah, but, they're not very useful for defense here with there being-

They feel the ground shaking. They turn, and see Eggman in his Eggcrusher.

Nine: Okay, I stand corrected!

The group finished their chili dogs, and face the Eggcrusher.

W.H. Sonic: I swear, if Egghead's not in it again!

Dr. Eggman: Oh, trust me Sonic, you will go down, and I will get that prism! I- *sees the fox trio, the Rose trio, and Boscage Birdie* Who are those 7?

W.H. Sonic and Tails: He's in there.

Nine: I'm guessing this is the Dr. Eggman you had mentioned, Sonic?

W.H. Sonic: Yep, that's him, alright! Egghead, meet Tails Nine, Mangey Tails, Sails Tails, Rusty Rose, Thorn Rose, Boscage Birdie, and Black Rose! Now, since everyone's been introduced, it's time to crack some eggs!

Nine: Oh, I get it, cause his last name's Eggman!

Knuckles: Really? I thought he was actually gonna crack some eggs!

Nine: Knuckles, you're an idiot.

Knuckles: Heh heh. Yeah. What's an idiot?

Nine facepalms, then spin dashes into the Eggcrusher, knocking it backwards.

Eggman: What the?!

W.H. Sonic: Nine! You've mastered spin dashing!

Nine: Eh. I was practicing when I was still bored.

Tails looks at Nine with a shocked expression.

Nine: And yes, I did more than just read comics.

Suddenly, Eggman decided to grab the Rose trio and Amy.

Nine: Black!

W.H. Sonic: Amy!

Nine and W.H. Sonic are both aggravated by Eggman's decision.

Nine: *outstretches 6 out of 7 mechanical tails* Let them go!

W.H. Sonic: Yeah! Or you're gonna have to deal with us! Nine, try to hack into the Eggcrusher!

Nine: Got it! *thinks* It will be a bit tougher than the robots I hacked into in New Yoke, but it's for Black, so I've gotta try!

Nine scans the Eggcrusher, and then runs to the lab, while W.H. Sonic and the others start dealing with Eggman, freeing Rusty and Thorn.

Eggman: Hey, where's the 4th fox goin- *the Eggcrusher gets hit in the knee by Rusty* Ow!

Rusty: Let our sisters go! (and yes, Rusty, Thorn, and Black count Amy in their sisterhood)

(In the lab)

Silver teleports in, and sees Nine at a computer. He walks over to him.

Silver: Hey, Nine, how's hacking into the Eggcrush- *sees Nine's coding screen* Whoa!

Nine: It's not going easy, just as I had thought. But I can't leave Black in that guy's clutches!

Silver: Ooh! So you have a crush on Black, huh?

Nine: *outstretches a mechanical tail at Silver* Silver, now is not the time for teasing!

Silver: Right, right! Sorry!

Nine retracts the mechanical tail.

Nine: Anyways, Dr. Eggman's Eggcrusher's code is pretty confusing. By the looks of things, he also put a shock wave machine in a remote controlled version?! What the heck is a remote contro-

Silver hands 2 different remote controls (for a remote control car and a TV) to Nine.

Nine: Huh?

Silver: Did you guys not have television or toys where you came from?

Nine shakes his head no.

Silver: Why am I not surprised by that?

Nine: Or maybe New Yoke did, and I just didn't know...

Silver reaches his hand up, but Nine outstretches the mechanical tail again.

Nine: If you're think of giving me a noogie, I will BLAST that hand off!

Silver retracts his hand, and Nine does the same, but with the mechanical tail.

Nine: Wait, I found the Eggcrusher's weak point! If I do this... *types away on the computer, gaining control of the Eggcrusher* Yes! We're in!

(outside)

Suddenly, the Eggcrusher stops.

Eggman: What the-

The Eggcrusher gently puts down Amy and Black, and ejects out Eggman.

Eggman: What the?! Who took control of-

Nine: *over the Eggcrusher's speakers* Who do you think?

W.H. Sonic: Nine!

Tails: He did it!

Black: Way to go, matey!

(Nine blushes when Black Rose says that)

Nine: *over the Eggcrusher's speakers* Y-Yeah, well, it wasn't easy you know!

Silver teleports out of the lab, with Nine coming out not long after, car remote control in hand.

Nine: Alright, let's see if this'll work!

With a few pushes of the buttons on the remote, the controller and the Eggcrusher become linked.

Nine: Yes! Now I've got control of it on the move! *runs over to the others*

The Eggcrusher, controlled by Nine, picks up Eggman, and throws him far away.

Eggman: *yells* I will be back for my Eggcrusher!

Nine: And we'll be ready for you!

The Were-Moon finally sets, and the sun comes up, turning Sonic back to his regular form.

Amy: *hugs Sonic* Sonic!

Sonic: Glad to see you, too, Ames.

Black goes over to Nine.

Black: Thanks for saving me, matey! *kisses Nine on the cheek* Goodnight, everyone! *walks off*

Everyone else (except for Nine, who's shocked): Goodnight, Black!

Everyone goes back to their houses, except for the 4 foxes and Sonic. Nine is still frozen in place.

Mangey: Nine?

Sonic touches Nine on the shoulder, and Nine falls over. Nine wakes up after the fall.

Nine: *groans* What just happened?

Sonic: Black kissed you on the cheek.

Nine: Aw, jeez! Did I freeze up?! *Sonic and the other 3 foxes nod in response* Aw, jeez! That's so embarrassing!

Tails: Let's get some sleep, you 5! These have been some eventual 12 hours!

Sonic, Nine, and Sails: Agreed!

Mangey: *agreeing howl*

The 5 of them go back into the lab to get some sleep.

Chapter Text

6 hours later, after everyone gets some much needed rest. (seriously, the Were-Moon thing was a lot! (which is why it took me so long to upload the chapter about it!)) Nine is the first one to leave the lab.

Nine: *stretches his 6 mechanical tails (he detached the 7th so he can repair it), and yawns* Can't believe that nightmare's finally over! *thinks about Black kissing him on the cheek* Though, I guess it wasn't all that bad... *sees that he left the Eggcrusher outside* Oops, better bring that thing inside so Eggman doesn't try to take it back! *takes out the remote control, and pilots the Eggcrusher inside the barn next to the lab* *sees the barn is full of Tails' other inventions, including the Tornado* Whoa! So this is where Tails keeps his inventions! And that must be the Tornado that Sonic told me about! It looks even awesome-r than I had imagined!

Tails: Ahem.

Nine: Gah!

Nine turns around, and sees that Tails has entered the barn.

Nine: Oh, Tails! Good morning! I was just, uh, bringing the Eggcrusher in, and I couldn't help but notice your inventions and the Tornado!

Tails: Yeah, I can see that. *walks over to him* You still bewildered about what Black did?

Nine: My first crush kissed me on the cheek 6 hours ago! How do you think I'd react?!

Tails: Touche. Also, Sails and I fixed your seventh mechanical tail for you.

Nine: You guys didn't have to! I could've fixed it on my own.

Tails: We know, but we wanted to! Now, come on! The other three are probably up by now!

Nine: Right behind you!

The two foxes exit the barn, and re-enter the lab, where Sails, Mangey, and Sonic are waiting for them.

Sonic: What took you two so long?

Tails: Uh... well...

They hear a kaboom outside.

Nine: We'll explain later! Sounds like Eggman's come back for the Eggcrusher sooner than we thought!

Outside, they see Eggman, Orbot, Cubot, and the Badniks.

Eggman: I told you I'd be back for my Eggcrusher!

Nine: And I told you we'd be ready! *takes out the controller, and the Eggcrusher comes to him* Eggcrusher, crush them!

While the Eggcrusher deals with Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot, Sonic and the fox quartet deal with the Badniks. Nine takes them down pretty easily.

Nine: Wow, these are Eggman's robots? They're even weaker than the Chaos Council's!

While the Eggcrusher is distracted by Cubot, Eggman runs over to Nine, and smirks.

Eggman: I think you weren't even at your full strength when we last fought, fox. So show me what you've got!

Nine: *thinks* Darn it! Without my 7th mechanical tail, I'm slightly weakened!

Sails: Nine! Press the button on your belt!

Nine: Uh... okay? *presses the button, outstretching the 6 mechanical tails, with the 7th rejoining them not long after* Whoa! *retracts the 7 mechanical tails* It really is fixed! But... how did you get it to do... that?!

Tails: Trust us, it wasn't easy. But we'll explain it later!

Nine outstretches his 7 mechanical tails, Mangey gets into his battle stance, with Sonic and Tails doing the same, and Sails takes out his sword.

Eggman: Now that's more like it! I'll let you new foxes get the first shots!

Nine: Sails, Mangey! We're going to have to work together on this!

Sails: Right!

Mangey: *agreement bark*

After the trio talks the plan through, Sails and Mangey attack Eggman, while Nine sneaks the Crusher over to them without Eggman knowing. (Crusher is short for Eggcrusher, but since it's under Nine's control now, it's now just called the Crusher.)

Eggman: Why do I feel like something's sneaking up behind me?

Cubot: Uh, boss?

Orbot: You'd better turn around.

Eggman: Huh? *turns around, and gets kicked by the Crusher, sending him far away* *shouts* I WILL BE BACK!

Orbot, Cubot, and the remaining Badniks chase after Eggman. Nine returns the Crusher to the barn.

Nine: Does that Egghead ever give up?

Sonic: Hey! You used my nickname for him! Also, no, he doesn't. But he's just your average ene-

Metal Sonic appears behind them.

Nine: Chaos Sonic?! But... I defeated you!

Sonic: Nine, that's not Chaos Sonic. That's Metal Sonic. But I can see how you'd confuse them for one another, because I do think Chaos Sonic's design was based on Met- *Metal Sonic picks him up by the neck* *gags*

Nine: Sonic! *gets out the controller, but Metal Sonic knocks it out of his hands* Hey!

Rusty runs over, and punches Metal Sonic, making him drop Sonic.

Sonic: Ow...

Nine: *goes over to Sonic* You okay, Sonic? *helps the blue hedgehog up*

Sonic: Yeah, I'm fine. What's with Metal, though?

Nine: Probably here to help Egghead take back Crusher! But I'm not letting that happen on my watch! *throws away Metal with his mechanical tails* Let's hope we don't see them again any time soon!

Later, Nine decided to take a walk in the forest on his own.

Nine: Wonder what I'll find here-

Nine stops when he hears a sound of someone in pain.

???: Chao...

Nine: Huh?

Nine follows the sound, and finds an injured Tails Chao.

Nine: Oh, you poor thing!

Tails Chao: *in pain* Chao, chao...

Nine treats to the Chao's wounds.

Tails Chao: *grateful* Chao chao!

Nine: Uh... you're welcome? I need to return to my friends now... 

Nine walks around, but turns out, he's lost.

Nine: Okay, turns out I don't know the way out! I'm starting to regret going here on my own...

Tails Chao: Chao chao!

Nine: Huh?

Nine turns around, and sees that the Tails Chao is following him.

Nine: Why are you following me? Wait... do you know the way out?

Tails Chao: *nods* Chao chao!

Nine: Well, lead the way! Wait, I should probably give you a name since I don't know what you are. How about... Six?

Tails Chao: *excited* Chao chao!

Nine: Then Six it is!

(Six the Tails Chao has joined Nine!) Six leads Nine towards the exit of the forest, but they are stopped by... a mechanical fox?

Nine: Is that supposed to be a robot version of Tails?!

Six: Chao chao!

Nine: Darn it! Sure wish I didn't leave Crusher behind!

Metal Tails attacks Nine and Six, but they dodge.

Nine: SONIC!

Suddenly, Metal Tails snatches Six.

Six: Chao chao!

Nine: Six!

Suddenly, Sonic's Spin Dash hits Metal Tails, releasing Six, who Nine catches.

Nine: You okay, Six?

Six: *in pain* Chao, chao...

Sonic uncurls, and sees Nine.

Sonic: Hey Nine! Heard you shouting my name, so I came as fast as I- *sees Six* How did you find a Tails Chao?

Nine: Tails Chao? Is that what Six is? She's pretty hurt, from both Metal Tails, and whatever attacked her previously!

Sonic: Let's take her to Vanilla and Cream! They know how to take care of Chaos more than the rest of us!

Tails, Sails, Amy, Silver, and Blaze joined Sonic and Nine to visit Vanilla's place to help Six get better. Sonic knocks on the door, and Vanilla answers, with Cream, Cheese, and Chocola standing behind her. (they had told them about Sonic's adventures in the Shatterverse.)

Vanilla: What brings you here at this time?

Cheese and Chocola instantly see Six in Nine's arms, and are concerned.

Cheese and Chocola: *concerned* Chao chao!

Six: *in pain* Chao chao...

Nine: My friend Six here is severely injured! I had treated her wounds earlier, but she's the first chao I've ever seen, so I don't know how to properly treat her wounds! Sonic and the others said you two know a lot about Chaos? Six had been attacked by Metal Tails and something else.

Vanilla: Oh, my! Bring her in, stat! We need to treat her wounds, and quickly! If she was attacked by one of Eggman's robots, we need to help her asap!

Nine hands Six over to Vanilla, and she goes in, with Chocola following not long after. Cream goes over to Nine to reassure him.

Cream: Don't worry, mr. Nine! I'm sure ms. Six will be fine!

Nine: Thanks, Cream. That makes me feel a bit better.

Later, Vanilla comes out, with Six and Chocola following her. Nine sees his Tails Chao companion.

Nine: Six!

Six: *sees Nine* Chao chao! *flies into his arms*

Nine: I was so worried about you, Six! I was worried that you wouldn't make it!

Six: Chao chao.

Vanilla: She just needs rest before she can be sent back to the forest! Would you mind taking care of her, Nine?

Nine: *gives Vanilla a confused look* Me?

Cream: Mom's idea is good! After all, when we went into the forest, we had encountered Six, but she never came to us, but she seems to trust you a lot!

Nine: Now that I think about it, Six had followed me after I had treated her wounds, even after I found out that I was lost! Not to mention, she is the one who led me to the forest's exit. If it weren't for Six, I would probably still be wandering around in the forest. Okay! I'll take up your offer! If it's okay with Tails, of course.

Tails: It's fine with me, but Six is going to be your responsibility! And trust me, taking care of a Chao is a big responsibility. You think you can handle it, Nine?

Nine: *looks down at the Tails Chao in his arms, then looks back up at Tails* Yeah, I think I can handle it! As long as Six is okay!

Sonic, Nine, Tails, Sails, Amy, Silver, and Blaze soon leave Cream and Vanilla's place, with Six following behind Nine.

Chapter Text

The next day, while Big is fishing, 3 things fall into the water. Him and Froggy look at the water, confused.

Big: Huh?

Froggy: *croaks in confusion*

The two of them look into the water, and see 3 cats and frogs that look like them.

Big: What the?!

Froggy: *surprised croak*

Big: SONIC!

Sonic, Tails, Nine, Sails, Mangey, Amy, Rusty, Thorn, Birdie, and Black soon arrive.

Sonic: Hey, Big and Froggy! What's going on?

Big: Look in the water!

They do so, and see Denizen 1998, Hangry, and Catfish and their Froggies.

Nine: Oh, great! All 3 of the fat cats and all 3 of their frogs from the Shatterverse are here!

Amy: Nine, be nice! Let's get these 6 out of the water!

Nine and Rusty get Denizen out, Mangey, Thorn, and Birdie get Hangry out, and Sails and Black get Catfish out, with the Froggies following soon after. Sonic helped with Denizen, Amy helped with Hangry, and Tails helped with Catfish.

Amy: Wow, Hangry's pretty light for his size!

Thorn: That's probably because he hasn't eaten in a bit. There wasn't much food in the Grim, because a certain two-tailed fox didn't make any while he had the prism! (she means Nine)

Nine: Excuse me?! I didn't even think about food much then! Don't put the blame on me!

The three Big and three Froggy variants eventually wake up.

Catfish (in his regular voice): *groans* My head... What happened?

Denizen just looks around confused.

Hangry: I'm so darn hungry...

Sonic: Ya know, I'm gonna miss fancy voice Catfish!

Hangry's Froggy sees coconuts in a nearby palm tree, and Hangry sees them.

Hangry: *gasps* Food! *runs to the palm tree, jumps to try to grab the coconuts, but falls on his bum* *groans* Come down here, coconuts! I wanna eat!

Big's Froggy sticks his tongue onto one of the coconuts, retracts it, and grabs it with his hands.

Hangry: *runs over to Big* *to Big's Froggy* Please give me food! Please, please, please!

Big's Froggy listens to Hangry's pleas, and gives him the coconut.

Hangry: *gasps* Thank you, kind frog!

Big's Froggy: *croaks*

Big: Atta-boy, Froggy!

Nine is still upset at what Thorn said.

(with the Roses (including Amy))

Birdie: *screeches to Thorn*

Thorn: I'm not apologizing to him, Birdie.

Black: Birdie's got a point though, sis! What you said to Nine wasn't very nice!

Thorn: You're only saying that because you're starting to fall for him.

Black: What? No! Okay, maybe. But I can see that he's trying to change, and he saved me and Amy's lives!

Amy: *to Rusty* Are things always this complicated with you three?

Rusty: Not always, but Black's new crush is still an issue.

Black: Will you guys stop calling Nine that?!

Nine: Calling me what?

The 4 Roses and Birdie are startled when they hear Nine. They turn, and see he has entered the area. Nine and Black almost make eye contact, but they both look away from the other before they could.

Nine: *thinks* Just get over this crush already, Nine! No matter how cute she is! Black probably doesn't feel the same way about you, anyways! Her new crush that Rusty mentioned is probably somebody else!

Black: *thinks* Why did Nine have to show up right after we were talking about my crush on him?! Let's hope he didn't hear the whole conversation!

The Roses, giant flicky, and fox stay silent, until Black finally breaks the silence.

Black: *still not looking at him* So, uh, how long have you been standing there, Nine?

Nine: *still not looking at her* Oh, uh, only for a half minute.

Black: Oh, okay, good! (thinks: So Nine didn't hear the whole conversation! Though, he may have heard that I have a crush on someone. But Nine probably thinks it's someone else, and not him.) Okay, well, I'm going off! Thorn, I believe you have some apologizing to Nine to do! *rushes off*

Thorn: *annoyed* Black!

Nine: What's with Black?

Thorn is about to answer Nine, but she is bonked by Amy's hammer, while Rusty just glares.

Nine: Huh?

Amy: Uh... Black just... needs time by herself at the moment!

Rusty: Yeah, she'll be fine!

Nine: Okay? *thinks* Girls can be so weird.

Nine realizes.

Nine: Uh-oh! I forgot to feed Six this morning! *looks at Thorn, Rusty, and Amy* Do any of you have any fruit?

All 3 of them shake their heads no.

Thorn: There were fruit in Boscage Maze, but since we don't know where Shadow took the Paradox Prism, we can't go back there.

Nine: *sadly* Oh, right.

Amy: Nine, we want Six to get better as much as you do, but the only fruit in Green Hills are the... *realizes* the coconuts!

Nine, Rusty, and Thorn: Huh?

Amy: Coconuts are a type of fruit!

Rusty: Oh, right! But Hangry's snacking on the coconuts of the nearest palm tree, so where are we gonna get them? Cause I'd rather not get in between that cat and his meal.

Thorn: Trust me, that's something you'd never want to do!

Nine: Aw, coconuts!

Suddenly, a coconut hits Nine's noggin.

Nine: Ow!

Black: *shouts* Be glad I was able to find one, mateys!

Nine: *picks the coconut up from the ground* *shouts back to Black* Thanks, Black! But did you have to hit the back of my head so hard?

Black: *shouts back to Nine* Sorry! I guess I don't know the strength of my throws!

Nine: *thinks* Why does she have to be so hard to get over?!

Thorn gives Nine a ride back to the lab on Birdie.

(at Tails' lab)

Nine goes up to his loft, and heads over to Six, who's sleeping in her little bed next to his.

Nine: *taps her* Six. Wake up.

Six wakes up.

Six: *yawns* Chao chao?

Nine: Good, you're awake! Here. *gives Six the coconut, which he has split in half* It's sorta dirty since it fell on the ground, but it's the only fruit here in Green Hill, so we've gotta work with what we got!

Six: Chao chao... *drinks the coconut milk, then eats the coconut half itself* *falls back asleep*

Nine: *gently pets Six on the head* Get better soon, Six.

Mangey runs into the lab.

Mangey: *barks* Nine!

Nine: *looks down at Mangey* I'm coming, Mangey. *looks at Six* I'll be back, Six. Gotta see what Mangey wants.

Nine falls down, with his mechanical tails stopping his fall, and follows after Mangey.

When Nine gets to where Mangey is leading him to, he sees the other Shatterverse variants, Silver, Blaze, and Big, and a bunch of Chaos, those being a Sonic Chao, a Amy Chao, a Tails Chao, a Knuckles Chao, and a Shadow Chao. (I know there's also a purple character Chao, but I haven't introduced that character yet, so it's just these 5!)

(just ignore the Tails in the back!)

Sails: Sonic! Tails! Amy! Shadow! Let's all calm down!

Chao Shadow: *upset* Chao, chao! (translation: You're not the boss of me, you dumb pirate fox!)

Sails: Hey, you may be the ultimate life form, Shadow, but that does not give you the right to say such rudeness!

Nine goes over, and Chao Sonic speedily flies over to him.

Chao Sonic: *quickly* Chao chao chao chao! (translation: Nine, something happened to us, and we have no idea why we are now Chaos!)

Sails: Sonic! He can't understand you if you speak so darn fast!

Chao Sonic: *quickly* Chao chao! (translation: Oh right!)

Nine: What the heck happened out here?!

Sails: Well, if you couldn't tell, Team Sonic, Amy, and Shadow got turned into Chaos.

Nine: Okay, but, how?

Sails: We don't know! It just suddenly happened!

Black: Ye think Eggman's behind it?

Sails: It do be a possibility, captain.

As seen in the picture above, Chao Knuckles is just sitting, being in his own little world, in his own tiny brain.

Nine: *looks at Chao Knuckles* Huh. You'd think Knuckles wouldn't be as calm as he is!

Sails: You're telling me! I've been expecting him to snap at any moment, but he's so dumb, he's not even doing anything! He's probably not even noticed that he's been turned into a Chao!

Nine: *facepalms* That idiot echidna...

Chao Knuckles: *snaps back into reality* Chao? (translation: Huh?) *sees he's now a Chao* *frightened* Chao chao?! (translation: What the?!)

Sails and Nine: There he goes...

Rusty: Hey, Tails, you got any ideas of how to turn you guys back?

Chao Tails: *shakes his head no* Chao chao... (translation: Nope...)

Rusty: Yeah, neither do we.

Six comes out of the lab, and sees Chao Sonic, Chao Amy, Chao Tails, Chao Knuckles, and Chao Shadow.

Six: Chao chao? (translation: What's going on out here?)

Nine: Six! You're up!

Six: Chao, chao chao?! (translation: Yes, but what's with those 5?!)

Nine: It's hard to explain, Six, but those 5 character chaos are Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Shadow.

Six: CHAO?! (translation: WHAT?!)

Nine looks at Six, and then at Chao Tails.

Nine: Okay, you two are both Tails Chaos, so it's going to be hard to tell you two apart! *thinks* Being a Chao caretaker is not easy, is it?

The others agree with Nine.

Chao Knuckles: *looks at Six* Chao chao? (translation: Who are you again?)

Nine and Six: *facepalms*

Chao Sonic: *quickly* Chao chao chao! (translation: Like caretaker like Chao!)

Nine: Hey, why has Chao Amy been so silent? (Amy's just staring, not moving at all.)

Black: That be a good question. We have no idea why she went quiet.

Chao Sonic: Chao chao... (translation: I'm slightly worried...)

Sails: Oh, now ye say something in a slower pace as a Chao!

Chao Sonic: *upset* Chao chao! (translation: It's not easy, ya know, Sails!)

Chao Tails suddenly has an idea, and he flies into the lab, and exits wearing a pair of goggles on his head.

Chao Tails: *points to the goggles* Chao chao! (translation: To tell me and Six apart!)

Chao Sonic: Chao chao! (translation: That works!)

Nine pokes at Chao Amy gently with a mechanical tail. She eventually swats the mechanical tail away.

Chao Amy: Chao chao! (translation: Stop doing that!)

Nine, Sails, Rusty, Thorn, Black, Denizen, Hangry, Catfish, Silver, and Blaze: Amy!

Mangey: *howls*

Birdie: *squawks*

Chao Sonic, Chao Tails, and Six: Chao! (translation: Amy!)

Chao Knuckles: Chao? (translation: Who?)

Chao Shadow: Chao, chao. (translation: You're the dumbest echidna I've ever met, Knuckles.)

Chao Knuckles: Chao chao! Chao... (translation: Thank you! Wait...)

Chao Amy: Chao chao! (translation: I was trying to sleep, you guys!)

Nine: Wait, Amy, you sleep with your eyes open? That's a bit creepy.

Chao Amy: Chao chao?! (translation: I was doing what?!)

Chao Sonic: Chao chao? (translation: Wait, you weren't aware that your eyes were open?)

Chao Amy: Chao chao! Chao! (translation: Of course not! I was asleep!)

Chao Sonic: Chao. (translation: Touche.)

Silver: How are we going to turn them back to normal?

Nine: That's a good question.

They hear metal footsteps, turn around, and see Metal Tails.

Nine: Ugh! Not this robot fox again!

Silver: Nine, you were able to hack into the Eggcrusher! Maybe you might be able to do the same with Metal Tails! Maybe if we have control over Metal Tails, we might be able to find out if Eggman did do this, and how to turn them back!

Nine: Okay, but you guys are going to have to distract MT for me!

The others do so, and eventually, Metal Tails' eyes turn yellow, and he stops attacking. Nine returns to the others.

Nine: Okay, time to see what Eggman programmed him to do. *checks Metal Tails' programming* *his face turns shocked* Okay, not something I thought I'd see!

Silver: What is it, Nine?

Nine: Apparently, Eggman had programmed MT to turn us all into Chaos, then to capture us!

Black: Well, thankfully, us Shatterverse variants, Silver, Blaze, and Big weren't affected!

They hear tweets, and see a small, pink flicky nearby.

Green Hills Birdie: *sees Boscage Birdie* *confused tweets*

Boscage Birdie: *sees Green Hills Birdie* *confused squawks*

Thorn: *goes over to the Birdies* *to Green Hills Birdie* I'm guessing you're Amy's Birdie?

Green Hills Birdie: *confirmation tweet*

Black: No offense, Thorn, but the Birdie of here is way cuter than yours!

Green Hills Birdie: *grateful tweet*

Thorn: Hey!

Boscage Birdie: *upset squawks*

Nine: (thinks: Should I agree with Black? I mean, she's got a point. Green Hills Birdie is adorable, but I might make Thorn upset. But if I choose Thorn's side, I might make Black upset! Aw, man! Okay, I've decided.) Thorn, Boscage Birdie, Black has point. I mean, sure, Boscage Birdie is tough, and all, but she doesn't exactly give 'cute' vibes much, unlike the original.

Thorn: Okay, I guess you've got a point there.

Boscage Birdie: *squawks*

GH (Green Hills) Birdie: *tweets*

Black: *to Nine* Thanks for taking my side, Nine.

Nine: Uh, no problem!

Both Nine and Black's cheeks started slightly blushing after that.

Chao Amy: *sees GH Birdie* *happily* Chao! (translation: Birdie!)

Chao Amy flies over to GH Birdie, and hugs her.

GH Birdie: *confused tweets*

After Chao Amy lets go of her tiny feathered companion, Nine, Silver, Blaze, Mangey, Sails, Rusty, Thorn, Black, Denizen, Hangry, Catfish, Six, and Boscage Birdie try to explain to the tiny pink flicky what had happened. GH Birdie seems to have understood the situation.

Blaze: Nine, is there any way to undo... whatever Metal Tails did to our friends to turn them into Chaos?

Nine: There is, Blaze, but... I think it's a bit too risky!

Chao Knuckles: *takes the panel from Nine* Chao chao! (translation: I don't mind taking risks!)

Nine: Knuckles, no! Give that back to me!

Chao Knuckles: *flies off* *teasingly* Chao chao! (translation: You'll have to catch me first!) *flies right into Tails' barn's wall* Chao chao? (translation: Who put a wall here?) *slides downwards off the wall*

Nine: That dimwit!

Nine goes over to Chao Knuckles, and takes his panel back from the echidna-turned-Chao.

Nine: You are one stupid echidna.

Chao Knuckles: Chao chao- (translation: I swear, if I was my regular self I would-)

Nine: *interrupts him by outstretching his 7 mechanical tails* You would what, Knuckles?

Chao Knuckles: *gulps* Chao. (translation: Gulp.)

Nine retracts the mechanical tails.

Nine: I'm not even surprised this time!

Nine presses a button on the panel, and a shock wave comes out of Metal Tails, returning Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Shadow back to their regular forms.

Sonic: Boy is it good to be back!

Tails: Same.

Amy: *GH Birdie flies into her arms, and tweets* Aw, I'm glad to see you, too, Birdie!

Knuckles: Nine, I-

Nine outstretches his mechanical tails again before Knuckles could finish that sentence.

Knuckles: -'ll just, go over there! *walks off*

Shadow looks around.

Shadow: You guys do realize that we haven't seen Rouge ever since you 3 foxes *gestures to Nine, Sails, and Mangey* and the giant flicky got here, right?

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Nine, and Sails: Oh no...

Mangey: *howls*

Black: Who's Rouge?

Sonic: Er, you know Rebel, Prim, and Baton, right?

Black: Yeah?

Sonic: She's the Green Hills version of them.

Black: Oh... *realizes* Oh no...

Rusty: I'd rather not see how Rouge acts.

Black and Thorn: Same!

Blaze: Let's hope Rouge isn't causing too much trouble, wherever she is...

???: Looking for me?

The group turns towards the voice, and sees Rouge behind them.

Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Blaze, Nine, and Sails: Rouge!

Rouge lands, right on top of Denizen's tail.

Denizen: *takes his tail out from under Rouge's foot, and rubs it* Ow, ow, ow!

Rouge: Sorry!

Shadow storms over to Rouge.

Shadow: And where have you been?!

Rouge: Shadow, calm down! I haven't been gone for that long!

Shadow: It's been 23 days, Rouge!

Rouge: *her ears droop* Oh. Okay, in my defense, I was... busy!

Shadow: Busy doing what?!

Rouge: None of your business, Shadow!

Nine: Jeez, those two fight like an old couple!

Shadow and Rouge: Shut up, Nine!

Black: *stands in between the black hedgehog and bat, stopping them from fighting any more* Nine's right, you two! Rouge, I barely even know you, but I already don't like you.

Rouge: You and me both, Amy look-a-like!

Rouge flies off.

Shadow: Good riddance!

Sonic: Shadow, weren't you the one that had noticed that Rouge had been gone for a long time?

Shadow: Shut up, Sonic! *storms off*

Sonic: Shadow definitely has a crush on Rouge.

Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Silver, Blaze, Nine, Sails, Rusty, Thorn, Black, Denizen, Hangry, and Catfish: Agreed!

Mangey: *agreeing barks*

Both Birdies: *agreeing tweets and squawks*

Six: *agreeing* Chao!

Nine looks around. Six has suddenly disappeared.

Nine: Where's Six?!

The others notice the Tails Chao's disappearance, and become worried as well.

Amy: Where could she have gone?

Tails: I don't know, but she couldn't have gotten far, with her injuries, and all.

Nine: Aw, man! If something happened to her...

Black goes over to Nine to try and comfort him.

Black: Don't worry, Matey! We'll find Six, no matter what!

Nine: Thanks Black. I think.

Knuckles: Uh... who's Six again?

Nine facepalms.

Sonic: Nine's Chao friend, remember?

Knuckles: Oh yeah...

Nine: How small is this echidna's brain?!

Tails: My estimate? About the size of a quarter.

Silver: Oh, so it only works 25% of the time? *ba dum tss*

Nine: Wow. That joke was so bad, that it was slightly funny.

Silver: Thank you, Nine!

Nine: Okay, back to the main subject at hand! We've gotta find Six!

Rusty makes a scan of the area, and her face saddens afterwards.

Rusty: She's not in the area. Sorry, Nine.

Nine: It's okay, Rusty. At least you tried!

Nine looks around again, this time for the robot fox.

Nine: Where's Metal Tails?

Tails: Eggman must've re-gained control of him, and, this is just a guess, but Metal Tails might be the one who took Six, probably mistaking her for me.

Nine: Darn that Egghead!

(at Eggman's lab)

Metal Tails returns to Eggman, carrying Six.

Eggman: What took you so long?

Metal Tails gives Six to Eggman.

Six: Chao chao! (translation: Let me go!)

Eggman: *groans* Well, it's not Sonic and all of his friends, but the original fox will have to do! *throws Six into a cage*

Six: *thinks* Him and Metal Tails think I'm Tails! This might be good to trick him! Papa Nine, everyone, please come quickly! (and yes, Six thinks of Nine as her papa.)

(back with the main group)

Nine: Grr! I can't believe this! Metal Tails took Six, thinking she was Tails, and we couldn't do anything about it!

Tails: We'll get Six back from Eggman and Metal Tails! Somehow...

Sonic: Let's just hope Egghead and Metal Tails don't let Six starve!

Nine: Sonic! Don't say such things!

Sonic: Right, right! Sorry!

Tails: Nine, you did make sure to put a tracker on Metal Tails before he left, correct?

Nine: Oh, right! I almost forgot! *pulls up the data from the tracker, showing the location of Eggman's base* So that's where Egghead's base is.

Sonic: Yep, and that's where we're going to find Six!

They start heading to Eggman's location.

(later, outside Eggman's base.)

The group stand outside the base, waiting for Badniks to come out of it.

Black: So, what do we do after taking out the Badniks?

Nine: Get inside, take down Eggman and Metal Tails, and get Six back, what else?

Black: Wow, overprotective much?

Nine: Hey, Six is my Chao friend. I ain't just gonna leave her in Egghead's clutches!

Sonic: He's got a point there!

Knuckles: Who are we rescuing again?

Nine, Black, and Sonic facepalm at the echidna's dumbness. The Badniks exit the base.

Nine: Alright, time to put the plan in action!

Alongside the Badniks, out come the metal squad.

Rusty: *sees Metal Amy* Oh, yay, another me rip-off.

Nine: Hey, that was one of my creations!

Tails: Technically, Rusty, Metal Amy came before you.

Rusty: Really, Tails?

Tails: Right, right, now is not the time to get technical!

Nine: Well, this changes the plan up a bit, but that's fine! We can just take down Metal Tails right here and now!

Tails: Uh, problem, Nine, the Metal Squad is way stronger when they're all together!

Nine: Oh... well, once again, I regret not bringing Crusher!

Suddenly, a light blue Spin Dash hits Metal Sonic, sending him backwards. It turns out to be from a small light blue hedgehog that looks like Sonic? And a miniature Tails flies down beside him.

Sonic: Hey, it's those little versions of us from that other universe, Tails!

Tails: Hey guys! It's been a while!

Classic Sonic gives Sonic and Tails a thumbs up.

Classic Tails: It's good to see you guys, too! We'll handle the metals, you guys go do what you have to do! Knuckles, Amy, Trip! Get over here!

A mini Knuckles and Amy, alongside a character none of them have seen before, which is a lizard, join Classic Sonic and Classic Tails, and they start dealing with the Metals. (Sonic Superstars reference!) The Sonic Prime group rush into the building after taking down the Badniks.

(Inside)

Nine: Okay, we're in!

Amy: It's good to see the classics again after all this time!

Knuckles: Yeah, but who was that with them?

Tails: I think Classic Tails called her 'Trip'?

Sails: Well, it's good to know we've got more allies!

Silver: You can say that again!

Sonic: Now, let's go save Six!

(Nine sneaks into Eggman's lab)

Nine sees Six inside a cage.

Nine: Six!

Six sees him.

Six: Chao chao! (translation: Papa Nine!)

Nine's eyes widen in shock.

Nine: Did you just call me papa?

Six: Chao Chao! (translation: Papa Nine!)

Nine: *tears up* Okay, didn't think we had that strong of a connection. *wipes away tears* I'm going to get you out of there, Six!

Eggman: Oh, I don't think so.

Nine jumps, turns, and sees the fat doctor in red entering the lab.

Nine: *sternly* Eggman.

Nine outstretches his 7 mechanical tails.

Eggman: Oh, I wouldn't do that. *takes out a remote* Wouldn't want to hurt your Chao friend, would we? *presses the button, electrocuting Six*

Six: *painfully* Chao!

Nine: Six! *retracts mechanical tails* You monster.

Eggman: I'm a villain, what do you expect?

Nine: What do you want, Egghead?

Eggman: Easy. My Eggcrusher for your Chao friend's freedom!

Nine: Really? That's your trade?

Eggman: You do want your friend to be free, do you not?

Nine: *thinks* I do want Six free, but this might be a trick!

Eggman: Aw, come on! You and I both know this is the best choice.

Nine: Maybe so, but...

Mangey: *howls*

Nine: Mangey!

Mangey runs into the lab, and takes the remote from Eggman.

Eggman: What the?

Mangey: *growls*

Nine: Atta boy, Mangey! I was wondering where you were!

Mangey runs off, Eggman chasing after him.

Eggman: Give me back that remote, you mangey mutt!

Mangey: *growls*

Nine: I guess you can count on your friends, after all!

Six: *in pain* Chao...

Nine: Don't worry, Six! You'll be free soon!

Nine goes to a control panel, which looks complicated.

Nine: Frick. This looks really complicated!

Sails, Tails, Sonic, and the others enter the lab.

Sails: Nine, need a little help?

Nine: Yeah, thanks Sails.

Tails: What was Eggman asking for Six's freedom?

Nine: The Eggcrusher, what else?

Sonic: Thank goodness Mangey was able to get here in time before you could make the trade!

Nine: Tell me about it!

Blaze: Let's try and get Six out, before Eggman returns!

Rouge: I agree with Blaze. We should hurry.

Nine looks up, and sees Rouge.

Nine: Rouge!

Rouge lands beside Shadow, who is also here.

Rouge: Me and Shadow got over our argument.

Shadow: Yeah. Had to help you guys somehow.

Nine: Good to hear!

Black: Okay, so how do we free Six?

Nine: Even I'm not sure. It's too complicated.

Shadow: Wow, that's a surprise, even for you.

Nine: Not now, Shadow!

Amy: Rouge, do you have any ideas?

Rouge: No, sorry.

Rouge sees something shine inside the machine, with which Shadow's Chaos Emerald reacts.

Rouge: Though there may be a Chaos Emerald powering this.

Nine: Chaos Emerald?

Shadow takes out the green Chaos Emerald.

Shadow: They look like this.

Nine: Hey, that's the same emerald you used to warp to us before!

Shadow: Correct. *puts away the green Chaos Emerald*

Nine uses his mechanical tails to unscrew the panel, takes it off, and takes out the blue Chaos Emerald. The machine powers off.

Nine: Wow. This one little Chaos Emerald was able to power this whole machine?

Six: Chao...

Nine: Oh, right, Six!

Nine rushes over to Six, and takes her out of the machine.

Six: Chao chao...

Nine: Don't worry, Six, papa's here. Papa's here.

Rusty: Papa?

Nine: We have that strong of a bond. Don't judge, Rusty.

Sonic: We've got Six and the Chaos Emerald, now let's get outta here!

(Outside Eggman's base)

They find Eggman still chasing after Mangey when they exit.

Eggman: Give back that remote, you varmint!

Mangey: *growls*

Silver: Mangey, over here!

Mangey runs over to them. Eggman sees Six and Tails.

Eggman: Oh, so the Tails Chao wasn't Tails after all.

Tails: Nope.

Six: Chao chao! (translation: Not even close!)

Orbot: I had a feeling we were being tricked!

Cubot: What does 'tricked' mean again?

Knuckles: I agree with the square one. Even I don't know what that means!

Orbot and Nine both facepalm.

Orbot: Sorry that my yellow companion is such an idiot.

Nine: Likewise, but with Knuckles.

A golden dragon suddenly blasts at Eggman.

Sonic: What the?

Shadow: That dragon seems to be a super form of some kind.

7 Chaos Emeralds suddenly fly out of the dragon, and it turns back into Trip.

Trip: Oh, uh... this is awkward.

Nine: Trip? That dragon was you?

Trip: Y-Yeah. Sorry I didn't really get to introduce myself earlier. Trip the Sungazer, at your service.

Nine: Well, nice to fully meet you, Trip!

Shadow: Were those your world's Chaos Emeralds?

Trip: Yeah, but because 2 of the same Chaos Emerald can't be in the same universe at the same time, they dispersed.

Nine: Well, we have the blue and green Chaos Emeralds. Don't know how they're going to be useful to you.

Classic Sonic, Classic Tails, Classic Amy, and Classic Knuckles go over to them.

Classic Amy: Trip, there you are!

Trip: Sorry Amy! Had to help these guys out!

Classic Sonic gives Trip an unamused look.

Trip: Sonic, why are you looking at me like that?

Classic Knuckles: Trip, we saw the Chaos Emeralds fly off. You said you could handle them!

Trip: I thought I could!

Sonic: Hey, it's not entirely the lizard's fault. We didn't anticipate that you guys would have your Chaos Emeralds on you, too.

Trip: It's weird how one Sonic can talk, while the other can't.

Nine: That I can agree with.

Trip suddenly pulls out a helmet from thin air, and covers her head with it.

Trip: I am so embarrassed...

Nine: Where did that helmet come from?

Classic Amy: Sorry about Trip. She's a bit shy.

Trip: *lifts helmet* It's true...

Silver: Jeez, this battle's probably going to take some time.

Rouge: Why are you even here, Silver?

Blaze: He teleported himself and me here by random.

Silver: Blaze!

Blaze: You know it's true, Silver.

Silver: Well, yeah, but do you have to be so honest about it?

Mangey: *growls at Metal Tails*

Shadow: Mangey, not now!

Sonic: I could say the same thing to you, Shadow!

Shadow: You zip it, Sonic!

Tails, Nine, and Sails: Zip it, Shadow!

Mangey: *growls at Shadow*

Trip: Okay, let's not fight each other! Remember, we have to deal with Eggman and the Metal Squad!

Classic Tails: Trip's right. Let's all calm down.

Knuckles: Who's Trip again?

Classic Knuckles: What the?

Sonic: Our Knuckles is a bit of an idiot.

Classic Knuckles: Ah, that explains it.

Knuckles: What's an idiot again?

Nine: *facepalms* Oh boy...

Trip: Oh dear...

Denizen jumps onto Metal Knuckles, taking him out.

Nine: Way to go, Denizen!

Trip: One down, 3 to go! Thank goodness there's not a metal me.

The green and blue Chaos Emeralds suddenly start glowing, then a bean stock grows underneath Shadow.

Shadow: What the?

Classic Tails: Hm... it seems that the powers from our Chaos Emeralds got transferred to yours. Nine, hold up the blue Chaos Emerald, and shout out 'Avatar'!

Nine: Okay? *holds up the blue Chaos Emerald* Avatar!

Suddenly, multiple Nine clones appear, and start hitting the Metal Squad, doing damage to them when they hit them.

Nine: Whoa.

Classic Tails: So my theory was correct! Shadow, the power of the green Chaos Emerald is called Ivy, and it grows a bean stock that can get you up to higher places. Nine, the power of the blue Chaos Emerald as you've probably guessed is called Avatar, and it makes multiples of you, which hit the enemy, causing damage.

Nine: Awesome!

Shadow: So mine can now warp me around and grow plants? Great.

Six: Chao chao! (translation: We should probably get going!)

Nine: I agree with Six!

Classic Tails: Not without us you're not!

Nine: CT? (CT is short for Classic Tails)

Trip: We know more about the Chaos Emeralds of our world's powers than you guys do, so we're coming along!

Classic Knuckles: You'll have to go without me. I've gotta find the last 5 emeralds!

Classic Amy: But I'm staying!

Classic Sonic gives a worried face to Classic Knuckles.

Classic Knuckles: Don't worry, Sonic, I'll be fine!

And, with that, Classic Knuckles leaves. The others do the same, but in a different direction, with Classic Sonic, Classic Tails, Classic Amy, and Trip the Sungazer coming with them, and Six safe and sound.

(the next morning)

Nine gets out of bed. Classic Tails and Trip have moved into the lab after yesterday.

Nine: Another day.

Six: *yawns*

Nine: *sees Six has woken up* Oh, good morning, Six!

Six: Chao chao. (translation: Morning papa.)

Nine: Yesterday was pretty crazy.

Six: Chao chao. (translation: You've got that right.)

Nine: I hope Trip and CT are adjusting to living here well.

Six: Chao chao! (translation: Let's go check on them!)

Nine: Okay.

Nine and Six go downstairs, and see Trip chatting with Mangey.

Trip: Mangey, I'm sure CT didn't mean to!

Mangey: *growls*

Trip: Eep! *pulls out her helmet, and places it on her head*

Nine: Hey, what's going on down here?

Trip: *lifts helmet, and sees Nine and Six coming over* Oh! Nine, Six, good morning!

Mangey: Morning! (Mangey learned that word from Trip.)

Nine: What the?

Trip: I taught him that word.

Nine: Ah. *looks around for Tails, Classic Tails, and Sails* Where are Tails, CT, and Sails? Are they still not up yet?

Trip: *puts away helmet* They are awake, I just don't know where they are. Though, Mangey seems mad at Classic Tails about something. He hasn't exactly explained why.

Mangey: *growls*

Tails flies into the lab, with Sails and Classic Tails following soon after. Tails sees Nine, Mangey, and Trip.

Tails: Oh, good morning guys.

Nine, Mangey, and Trip: Morning!

Tails: Wait, Mangey learned a new word?

Nine: Trip taught him how to say it.

Trip: I-It's true. I've also been teaching him how to read a little.

Mangey: *growls at Classic Tails*

Classic Tails: You're still not over that?

Nine: CT, what happened between you and Mangey last night?

Tails: Yeah, you don't really seem to want to talk about it.

Sails: I agree with Tails.

Trip: Mangey can't explain it himself!

Classic Tails: We just had an argument last night. That's all.

Mangey: *growls*

Classic Tails: Oh, don't you dare growl at me, you wild fox!

Mangey: *continues to growl*

Nine: By Mangey's growling, I'm pretty sure it was more than 'just had an argument'. And I know arguments!

Sails: It's true. Me and him argue most of the time.

Nine: And this might become another argument if you don't shut up, Sails!

One of the Froggies suddenly hops into the lab. It seems to be Big's Froggy, because the frog doesn't have a hat on.

Nine: What is Big's Froggy doing here?

Big's Froggy: *croaks*

Tails: I think he's trying to tell us something! *picks up Big's Froggy* What's going on, Froggy?

Big's Froggy: *croaks*

Nine: Does anyone here speak frog? Cause I sure don't.

Sonic runs in, with the other three Froggies on him.

Denizen, Hangry, and Catfish's Froggies: *croak all at once*

Big's Froggy: *croaks back*

Sonic: A little help, guys?

Nine grabs Denizen's Froggy, Mangey grabs Hangry's Froggy, and Sails grabs Catfish's Froggy.

Sonic: *sighs in relief* Thanks, guys.

Nine: Why are the Froggies here, and not with Big, Denizen, Hangry, and Catfish?

Sonic: I don't know. I haven't seen any sign of Big, Denizen, Hangry, or Catfish anywhere! At least, not since yesterday.

Tails: *to Big's Froggy* Big's Froggy, was that what you were trying to tell us? That Big, Denizen, Hangry, and Catfish have suddenly disappeared?

Big's Froggy: *croaks in confirmation*

Denizen's Froggy: *croaks in worry*

Hangry's Froggy: *croaks in worry and hunger*

Catfish's Froggy: *croaks in fear*

Sails: Oh, the poor Froggies! Also, I think Hangry's Froggy is hungry.

Mangey runs out of the lab.

Classic Tails: Where's Mangey running off to?

Mangey returns with some insects.

Trip: Ew, Mangey!

Hangry's Froggy sticks his tongue out, and catches some of the insects on it, retracts it, and eats the bugs.

Nine: Ew. So that's how frogs eat.

Tails: Well, Mangey knows Hangry's Froggy more than the rest of us do!

Hangry's Froggy: *to Mangey* *croaks of gratitude*

Mangey: *barks 'you're welcome'*

The Froggies then continue to worry. The Birdies, Amy, and Thorn arrive at the lab.

Amy: Hey guys!

GH Birdie: *greeting tweets*

Thorn: Did something happen? We heard a lot of croak- *Hangry's Froggy suddenly jumps onto her face* Get off, Hangry's Froggy!

Hangry's Froggy: *croaks*

Boscage Birdie: *screeches*

Mangey runs over, and helps Boscage Birdie pull Hangry's Froggy off of Thorn.

Nine: Sure hope we can find Big, Catfish, Hangry, and Denizen soon!

Everyone agrees with Nine, including the Froggies.
