Across the Stars Deck

Summary:

A collection of the artwork I have done for the Star Wars inspired Tarot deck I have been creating. Includes characters from all of the shows and movies within the official canon as of now.

Notes:

Hi lovely people! This is my first time posting my art in any sort of public forum so please be gentle! I have been working on these cards for about a month but not going in any particular order. I will add more chapters as I create more cards. Let me know in the comments if you’d prefer I add chapters in between so that they’re all in order at the end or if I should just tag on cards as I finish them!

To start us off we have Ezra Bridger, our beloved street-rat turned Jedi from Star Wars: Rebels as the Fool. The fool represents innocence and new beginnings, or starting off on an adventure. I feel like Ezra really embodies that, especially with how closely we are able to see him grow and change over the course of the show.

Anyways, let me know what you think! Always hungry for feedback.

Chapter 1: The Fool

Chapter Text

Ezra Bridger: the Fool

Chapter 2: The High Priestess

Notes:

For the next addition to this deck, there is Mother Talzin from Star Wars: the Clone Wars as the High Priestess. The High Priestess represents divine feminine power, intuition, and the subconscious mind. I thought this fit perfectly with Mother Talzin and the Nightsisters as a whole.

Talzin’s proportions are just off enough that I spent the whole time I was sketching this convinced I had done something wrong but I think in the end it turned out alright.

Mother Talzin: The High Priestess

Chapter 3: The Lovers

Notes:

I’m super happy with how this one turned out; we have Anakin and Padme as the Lovers. I think their love story is honestly the most influential throughout the Star Wars series, so it was only fitting that I drew them for this card. I think the hardest part of this was figuring out which side Anakin’s scar vs. metal hand were on.

Anyways, the Lovers represent love, harmony, and choices. In the original card, you can see the snake and apple (circa garden of Eden) I’m the background, representing the temptation that love can bring. While I didn’t end up incorporating any elements like this into my final work, i think it’s an additional piece of the symbolism of the card that fit perfect for Anakin and Padme.

Let me know what you think!

Padme and Anakin: the Lovers

Chapter 4: The Hermit

Notes:

Here we have Yoda, as the Hermit. There were a number of characters that I considered for this card, but ultimately settled on Yoda, specifically the Yoda that is living on Dagobah following Order 66. The Hermit represents isolation, but also a mastery, and someone who is sharing knowledge or guiding others on their journeys. I don’t think I truly realized how many wrinkles he has until doing this drawing….

Anyways, let me know what you think!

Chapter Text

Yoda: The Hermit

Chapter 5: The Hanged Man

Summary:

Here’s my favorite cards, the Hanged Man, with one of my favorite characters, Ahsoka Tano. The Hanged Man represents letting go and having a new perspective, something that I feel fits with Ahsoka more so than any other character. From starting out as a Padawan to leaving the Jedi order to her time spent in the World Between Worlds, her story is ripe with new starts and changes.

Let me know what you think!

Chapter Text

Ahsoka Tano: the Hanged Man

Chapter 6: Temperance

Summary:

I chose Rey to represent Temperance because I feel like the card fits with her whole journey of finding herself as well as connecting with the Force and the other Jedi. Temperance represents balance, moderation, and patience, all things that I feel like flow well with her overarching storyline.

Let me know what you think!

Chapter Text

Rey: Temperance

Chapter 7: The World

Summary:

Here we have the Mortis Gods from the Clone Wars series as the World.

Chapter Text

The Father, the Daughter, and the Son: the World

Chapter 8: The Three of Wands

Summary:

The Three of Wands represents progress, expansion, and future planning, all of which fit with Thrawn for a number of reasons; Thrawn is, at his core, a strategist, on top of which, he is seen as the future of the Empire.

Let me know what you think and what card you’re most looking forwards to!

Chapter Text

Grand Admiral Thrawn: the Three of Wands

Chapter 9: The Five of Wands

Summary:

I think this card may be one of my favorites: here is Crosshair from theBad Batch show as the Five of Wands, representing conflict, disagreement, competition, and adversity.

Chapter Text

Crosshair: the Five of Wands

Chapter 10: Queen of Wands

Summary:

Here we have Omega from the Bad Batch as the Queen of Wands, representing courage, independence, and confidence. I think Omega is a uniquely charming character with an impressive capacity for getting into trouble, which is perfect for the Queen of Wands.

Let me know what you think!

Chapter Text

Omega: the Queen of Wands

Chapter 11: Two of Cups

Summary:

Here we have Kanan and Hera as the two of Cups. The two of Cups represents unified love and partnership, which I think is perfect for this couple. They’re so wonderful for each other and I cried so hard at their ending…

Chapter Text

Kanan and Hera: the Two of Cups

Chapter 12: Page of Cups

Summary:

The Page of Cups represents curiosity, possibility, and creative opportunities, something that I felt fit perfect for Sabine from the Star Wars rebels show. I based her appearance in this off of how she looks in the fourth season of the show mostly because I liked that armor the most for her. It was definitely a fun challenge to add all of the armor paint.

Let me know what you think!

Chapter Text

Sabine Wren: the Page of Cups

Chapter 13: Queen of Swords

Summary:

I drew Assaj Ventress as the Queen of Swords. I loved her story throughout the Clone Wars and really hope we get to see her again in future projects; I think she fits really well with the themes of the Queen of Swords, which represents independence, directness, and boundaries.

Notes:

Let me know what you think and what cards you would like to see next! I’m reaching the end of the cards I already have done, and while I have laid out a plan on what I’m going to be drawing, I’d love to hear what you’re most excited about seeing!

Chapter Text

Assaj Ventress: Queen of Swords

Chapter 14: Five of Pentacles

Summary:

Here we have Shmi and Anakin as the Five of Pentacles, representing poverty, isolation, worry, and financial loss. I did a bit of a twist on the traditional card which shows a figure left out in the cold; here, Shmi and Anakin are out in the elements on Tatooine.

Notes:

This is officially the end of the cards I have prepared so let me know; should I add the rest of the cards in their numerical place in the deck or continue placing them at the end?

Chapter Text

Shmi and Anakin Skywalker: the Five of Pentacles
