Captain Blue's guide to hybrids

Summary:

A quick guide on hybrids.

Notes:

This is how I feel they would be. You may have different ideas. Sadly it's purely fictional.

Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Dog Hybrid

Chapter Text

Scientific names: Canis lupus familiaris/Homo sapiens.

Classification: Dog/Human.

Street name: Dog hybrid.

Dog hybrids are typically born like a human child. (fraternal twins or triplets are more common due to dogs giving birth in litters)

They are born with their ears closed, but not their eyes.

The fur on their ears and tail will start to grow in around six months (for dogs it’s 4-5 but for hybrids age works differently.)

Stages like, brain development and sexual maturity are the same for what it is for a human.

The tail and ears are covered in soft fur (depends on dog breed hybrid of).

The tail and ears are sensitive spots for a dog hybrid, so don’t let someone touch them unless you trust them.

A dog hybrid letting you touch these features is a show of trust and should be respected.

You will melt into a happy puddle of goo if someone scratches the right spot on your ear.

Instincts:

Dog hybrids have an instinctual urge to be near their pack . This pack does not need to be other dog hybrids, but can be humans, avian, or just dogs (like the regular ones).

Some dog hybrids will want to have a den.

This can be supplied by a low lighting room (Ex, Bedroom.), lots of soft blankets and pillows (might remind you of an avian nest), and things that smell like their pack.

Do not enter a dog hybrid’s den without permission (or if you are part of the pack), this can agitate them, and your smell in the den can last for around two weeks.

Dog hybrids will typically sleep in their den, but don’t always. Some do prefer sleeping in a normal bed.

Dog hybrids sometimes will feel the urge to hunt.

Don’t suppress your instincts. Let them out, and indulge them (as long as it does not hurt anyone!)

Warning, your tail and ears can and will betray you.

Your tail will wag when you're happy. Will show when you're scared.

Your ears will show if you're listening or not.

Diet:

Anything a human can eat you can!

Though sometimes (though rare), you will not be able to eat things dogs can’t eat (Ex; Raisins, chocolate, caffeine.).

For dogs this could be fatal, though for you it’s like having dairy intolerance (you going to be in the bathroom for a while).

Noises:

Dog hybrids will grow sometimes when they feel threatened, or will make other dog-like sounds (Ex; Bark, howl, whine.)
