Chapter Text
James had been beyond happy with the tattoo. It looked amazing. He’d stood beside the original painting when it had first been done and compared them. It was perfect. He knew Mary wouldn’t let him down when he’d asked her to do it. Even Sirius had been impressed after poking it and making James yelp in pain.
“You absolute twat!” He’d shouted at his best friend as he chased him around the flat. Remus had finally stepped in when James had picked Sirius up and tried to open the balcony door.
That had been nearly a year ago now, and he was still glad every time he saw his tattoo that he’d got it done.
Regulus had never moved back into his own room, and they’d just celebrated their first year anniversary. Regulus had baked all James’s favourite goodies while James made Regulus's favourite lasagne. Sirius had barged in and congratulated them and then promptly been removed by Remus, who apologised for losing track of Sirius and taken him back to their flat to much grumbling and grousing.
But right now he and Regulus were curled up together in their bed. Sleep had already claimed Regulus and James was well on his way to joining him, but he couldn’t help smiling fondly down at his boyfriend as he thought how funny it was that all this had started because he’d somehow ended up in the art block and spotted a banana.
He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss on Regulus’s forehead and snuggled down, falling asleep to the sound of Regulus’s gentle breathing and feeling like the luckiest man in the world.
