Ties of Feathers and Claws

Summary:

Philza catches Tallulah just before she stumbles. "Careful—" he murmurs, steadying her gently. His voice fades into the distance, only to echo halfway across the world, where Missa’s voice calls out, "—mi hijo," as he reaches for Chayanne, pulling him back from the hot stove just in time.

Or another QSMP AU about found family and near-misses.

Notes:

I'm here with a first chapter for you (Yay) on my first ever published fan fiction. I hope you like it. My grammar in this probs won't be perfect, maybe in this one, but only because I prove read it like 20 times.
Also neither English nor Spanish are my first language, soooo if I do something wrong, no I didn't /J

Also Also thanks for the Kudos, I just put this up as prep yesterday so I had like the start of this and I really didn't expect to get Kudos on a placeholder.

So let the story begin.

In this universe the whole earth has the same timezone btw!

Chapter Text

---

Somewhere in Newcastle, England, Philza catches Tallulah just before she stumbles. “Careful—” he murmurs, steadying her gently. His voice fades into the distance, only to echo halfway across the world, where Missa’s voice calls out, “—mi hijo,” as he pulls Chayanne back from the hot stove just in time.

“Come on, darling, it’s time for bed,” Philza says to Tallulah.

At the same time, Missa is speaking to Chayanne. “You have to be careful, mi hijo. I know I said don’t burn our dinner, but please, also don’t burn yourself.”

Tallulah yawns. “Mhm, I’m sleepy.”
“Yeah? You think so, mate?” Phil chuckles. “Come on.” He gently guides her into her bedroom.

Meanwhile, Missa looks at his son. “Let’s hurry and eat. You look like you’re about to fall asleep standing up.”
“Mhh,” Chayanne grumbles. “Food’s ready.” He grabs two plates, scooping food onto them.
“After dinner, it’s straight to bed,” Missa says, leading Chayanne to the table where they eat the hastily made meal.

Back in Newcastle, Philza tucks in Tallulah. “Sleep well, Lullah,” he says.
“Good night, Papa,” she replies.

He turns to leave, pausing in the doorway. “If you need me, remember, I’m just down the hallway.”
“I—” Tallulah yawns. “I know, Papa. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, darling.” Philza leaves, closing the door quietly behind him, and soon falls asleep in the comfort of his own bed.

---

“Come on, morrito, off to bed,” Missa says, setting the dirty plates in the sink.
Chayanne stumbles over, barely awake. “Bed,” he mumbles.
Missa chuckles, taking Chayanne’s hand and guiding him to his room. “Buenas noches, guerrito.”
“Bu..enas...noches, Papa,” Chayanne mutters, already drifting off to sleep.

Watching his son, Missa smiles. It’s been just the two of them for a long time, and they’ve grown close.

Missa heads to his room, a peaceful feeling settling over him as he drifts off to sleep.

---

Morning comes slowly to Philza as the sun filters through the window, birds chirping outside in the fresh spring air.

In Mexico, Missa also wakes to a calm, quiet room.

But peace shatters for both as they hear doors slam open. Philza from Tallulah’s room, Missa from Chayanne’s.

“Tallulah!”
“Chayanne!”

They rush to their respective hallways, each facing a confused child.

“Who are you?” they both ask, staring at the unfamiliar child.

“Where’s my papa?” Chayanne and Tallulah demand, looking panicked.

“Whoa, calm down, little one,” Philza tries to soothe the boy who looks so much like him.

“What—who—” Missa stammers, baffled by the girl standing before him. “Huh?”

The children exchange equally bewildered looks.

“Who are you?” Chayanne asks, eyeing the blond man before him.
“My name is Philza… and yours?”
“Chayanne.”

They pause, sizing each other up. Both share blond hair—Philza’s a bit longer—and the same light blue eyes. Wings spread on both their backs: Philza’s are black and feathered, while Chayanne’s are tough-skinned and matte orange.

“So… you are?” Missa says, breaking the silence.
Tallulah stares at him. “Lullah… Tallulah.”

“Tallulah? Well, uhm… I’m Missa. So, why exactly are you in my home?”

“Why am I—? You tell me! I just woke up here! What did you do to me?” Tallulah sounds exasperated.

Missa looks even more confused. “What do you mean, ‘woke up here’?”

“What do I mean? I mean I woke up in that room, in some kid’s bed,” Tallulah says, her voice tinged with panic.

“Oh,” Missa says simply. “I didn’t bring you here.”

“You didn’t?” Tallulah’s suspicion softens, though confusion lingers.

Philza, back in Newcastle, breaks the silence. “So, why were you in my daughter’s room?”

“I don’t know.” Chayanne shrugs. He’s cautious, but something about Philza makes him want to trust him.

Missa, meanwhile, finally gets a good look at Tallulah. She has the same dark hair and eyes as him. “Wow, you look—”
“Just like me,” Tallulah finishes for him.

“So, where do you come from?” Missa asks Tallulah, as Philza asks Chayanne.

“Newcastle.”
“Tijuana.”

“What?” Both men’s eyes widen, concern growing.

“But we’re in Mexico!”
“We’re in England!”

Both Chayanne and Tallulah look equally shocked.

“How did this happen?”

Chapter 2: The flight

Summary:

They finally get home, or do they?

Notes:

I'm so sorry it took me so long and this chapter is even shorter than last one. I've gotten sick three times, then there was the exam phase at school, then the holidays and I've recently had some private stuff coming up. BUT I will be publishing chapter 3 soon! (Hopefully)

AND I hope you can enjoy this chapter!

Chapter Text

“How did I end up here?” Philza asks himself, sitting at the airport with this child he’s never seen before. But he’s determined to bring this kid home, and find his daughter.

“Soo… Thanks for making the effort to bring me home…” Chayanne speaks up, breaking the awkward silence between them.

Philza lifts his head. “Yeah, no- no problem. I have to find my daughter as well, and if you’re here then maybe, for some reason Tallulah could be with your Parents.”

“My dad.” Chayanne says. “He’s been raising me alone ever since…well always actually.”

“Really?” Philza asks curious.

“Yep, but we’re happy, just the two of us.”

Philza hums thinking. “I’m a single parent too, I didn’t used to be though, it’s complicated with me and my wife, but for the most it’s just Tallulah and I.”

“Complicated how?” The young boy asks.

“It’s a long story.” Philza explains. “A long and complicated one, I might tell you in the future, but for now lets focus on the task at hand.”

“Right, but you have to tell me sometime, now I’m curious.”

“I will.” Philza says. “Oh, it’s our turn to get on the plane, come on Chayanne.”

Chayanne gets up. “Coming!”

And so they board the plane, on for a 15 hour flight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Up in the air Missa is still confused on what happened, where is Chayanne? “So you’re English, huh..?” Missa asks, braking the hour long silence.

“Yeah..” Lullah answers, speaking quietly. “Grown up there.”

“Okay…” It’ll be hard to talk with her. Missa isn’t the best with strangers, or children except his son.

“Missa?” Lullah speaks up.

“Yeah?”

“Thanks for bringing me home… I don’t know how I ended up here, but I… I’m kinda scared…” Lullah admits.

“That’s okay, I get it… I have to admit, I’m scared too… Chayanne has never been apart from me, let alone halfway across the world.” Missa smiles.

“I’ve also never been apart from my papa…”

“I’ll bring you back to him Tallulah.” Missa tries to be reassuring.

“Thank you.” Lullah hesitates. “I prefer being called Lullah…”

“Okay, Lullah then.” Missa tries to give a reassuring smile, but he’s anxious. He’s a grown ass man, but he’s scared. “We’ll be there soon… I think.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The plane lands just fine, Chayanne is finally home. Lullah is finally home. Grabbing their keys they unlock the door, only to find an empty home.

“Dad?”

“Papa?”

No answer. The house is empty.

“Lullah,”

“Chayanne,”

“There’s a note here.”

“Hey kiddo, I don’t think you’ll read this, but if you’re home, I found this kid, Chayanne. He just appeared here and you were gone, so I’m bringing him home, back to Mexico. I’ll be back soon. Love you dearly -Philza”

"Hey hijo, si estás en casa y lees esto, bueno, hay una niña aquí llamada Tallulah. Apareció de la nada en tu cuarto y tú no estabas. Me asusté un poco, pero no sabe de dónde vino, así que la llevaré de vuelta a Inglaterra. Te quiero, cabroncito."

Notes:

Translation: “Hey son, if you’re home and read this well, there’s a kid here named Tallulah. She just appeared in your room and you were gone, I was a bit scared, but she doesn’t know where she came from, so I’ll bring her back to England. Love you little shit.”

Again, English and Spanish both are not my first language, please don't come at me. Also I definitely proof read this. (definitely)

Notes:

Thanks for reading this far!

This chapter is not very long, I know, I just kinda wanna see how you like it. And then see what works better for me and for the people who may or may not read this, like if shorter more frequent or longer chapters are better. And yeah, Cliffhanger have fun.
