Chapter 1: Trust is a deception
Chapter Text
"There is nothing stronger than the trust between comrades in arms. Buckle up butter cups because today you ladies become women!"
Trust
Ha! That was a funny word, wasn't it? And Vaggie fully believed in it at the time. She trusted her flock would always have her back, they would keep an eye on her, would never let her down. They would be there in her time of need and lift her back on her feet.
What she didn't realize was how ironic it was.
Even if she had issues with a few of her sisters, she still trusted them with her life. That was what she was supposed to do.
Of course, everyone knew there were consequences for not getting the job done and disobeying an order, but how bad could it be? It's not like she meant for the little boy to get away. She just- had a weak moment. That didn't mean she should be tossed aside.
But that didn't stop the chill that ran down her spine at the sound of flapping wings approaching her. She should have known she couldn't get away with this. After all, she trusted they'd have their eyes on her.
Vaggie turned around to accept whatever punishment deemed worthy. She wasn't scared when she turned, maybe a little nervous at the fact It had been Lute. The one angel she had the most beef with, but she still trusted her judgement.
However, Lute's face was curled into a snarl and her hand held tightly on the handle of her sword. Vaggie's eyes widen in her own concern. She tried to put her hands up to try and explain herself, but froze as Lute swiftly pulled the sword out of its scabbard. Before she could even ask what was happening, the sword was driven in her left eye. Vaggie screeched out in pain. The eye was cut out from its socket and tossed the floor. Vaggie started at it in horror whilst she held her hands where it had previously been.
Lutes sword speared down at Vaggie's detached eye, slicing right through it. Gold blood spit out. Vaggie flinched back at the sight.
This was a rather rough punishment in her opinion but this was her lieutenant, she knew what she was doing. And now she would let her go. To kill more sinners and return to heaven for treatment.
But that's not what happened.
When she thought it was all over, lute started walking over to her. Vaggie thought maybe she was gonna offer her a hand up. But instead, she was kicked down. Her head smacked against the pavement, but that was the least of her worries now. Lutes boot slammed onto her back, unnervingly right between her wings.
Frightening thoughts spiraled through her head before Lutes hands even grazed her wings. It was at that moment, Vaggie knew her punishment was going to be much worse. The first aggressive grip at her feathers was aggravating on its own, but the second the angel began to pull, now that was agony.
It didn't take long, a small mercy, but it still hurt like hell. Vaggie could feel the moment of each chuck of skin, every vein, muscle, bone, all breaking from the separation. She wheezed and coughed, some blood spitting out in the process. Her back burned more than her muscles ever had after training. Her face was still bloody, and her vision disoriented. She saw her wings get tossed to the floor as the foot left her back.
She must have blacked out for a moment or two, for the next time she opened her eye, she saw not only Lute, but Adam as well. Her commander. The one who was supposed to protect her and see over her. But he was grinning down at her viciously while also patting Lute on the shoulder for doing a good job. Not only that, but he was also holding Vaggie's Halo. The halo that made her an angel. The halo that let her in heaven. Her halo.
Adam and Lute turned their backs on her and walked away. Vaggie weakly reached out her hand in one last vein attempt to beg, but she blacked out before she could know if they ever looked back.
The next time she woke up, she was alone. Nobody to ask for help, nobody to console her, nobody to tell her it was just a bad dream.
Vaggie grunted in pain. Only one eye opened, but the muscle from around the missing one still tried to move, despite their serious damage. The angel briefly looked around. She could still hear the commotion of the extermination going on. Her sisters will still come back for her.
No matter how much Vaggie wanted to trust that was true, no one ever did end up finding her. After a half-hour or so of bleeding against the floor, breathing heavily, and wheezing, Vaggie heard the call back to heaven. She saw the portals open and sirens blare.
Now. Now is the time they'll collect her. She's paid for her mistake. But they never came. Vaggie watched as the last wings flew in, and the last light close off.
The extermination was over. They left her.
Vaggie had never been in hell outside of extermination. Was it always so quiet?
She listened. All she could hear were groans. Maybe some crying? Definitely ringing, oh wait that was just her own head messed up.
After what felt like forever, Vaggie realized she's alone, in hell. Nowhere to go. No one to turn to.
Fortunately, Vaggie is not one to give up. The angel shakily pushed herself off the ground. She grimaced at the puddle of blood that smeared around her. Vaggie pushed herself on her feet before limping to the wall at the back of the alley, only a few steps away. She leaned against it and groaned at the grime mixing in with her heavy breathing and quiet winces. After catching her breath, she carefully undid her belt and pulled off the top of her uniform. Underneath she wore a white dress. One strap was white and matched the rest of the shirt while the other was black which matched the waist band and the X's that were placed over her breast.
She started to stagger toward the large dumpster to trash the rest of her uniform before she glanced back at her wings. She couldn't just leave them out in the open...
With a heavy sigh, the angel paced back to her fallen limbs and picked them up. She limped to the metal box and tossed them in along with what she already took off of her uniform. Next, she went to remove her boots before grimacing. She didn't have shoes. She pulled herself up to look into the trash. Inside she could spot a broken piece of glass. The short girl tried to reach for it but failed. Vaggie contemplated her options.
Climb in and grab it and have to smell like shit until the off chance she finds a shower? Or walk around in exorcist boots and hope none of these demons recognize them.
Welp, she had made her decision and was already kinda regretting it.
Vaggie carefully used the glass shard to cut along the ankle of each boot. It wasn't the best craftsmen's ship, but it would have to suit for now. With the rest of her uniform and wings thrown, Vaggie stumbled and slid down against the dumpster. She already loss so much blood. She felt so weak. All that work took a lot out of her. Maybe if she just closed her eyes for a moment...
Woah she must have passed out there... wait- who was that? Not far, a demon approached her. Vaggie's breath hitched. This was the end, wasn't it?

Chapter Text
It was definitely a demon in front of her. A tall one at that, with red glowing eyes peering down at her, or at least she thought they were red. But as the demon bent over, and closer into Vaggie's blurred vision, her eyes became more of a soft and concerned yellow with red irises. Vaggie couldn't hear if the blonde-haired demon had said anything, her ears were still ringing to much, but she did notice her reaching for something in her pocket.
Maybe Vaggie couldn't trust her fellow exorcists to come save her, but she could definitely trust this demon to kill her. Who knew what she was about it pull out. A gun? A knife? She was barely able to brace herself before whatever the demon grabbed was brought to her head. Except it didn't hurt. It didn't burn, poke, or scratch. It merely added a bit of pressure. It was also strangely comforting on the burning surface.
It was no weapon, but a bandage that this demon was wrapping up her eye socket with. What the hell? Vaggie looked at her with absolute bewilderment. The demon was looking at her intently, and strangely concerned? As if Vaggie would believe that. But the angel did offer a small smile in return for the help. Maybe there was a chance she could still make it out of this.
The demon looked surprised by her smile and smiled back, but more shyly, turning her head to the side and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
Vaggie didn't know much about the different types of sinners or hellborn. But she was wondering if this woman was possibly a succubus. That was the only demon she could see not killing her on the spot. Her being attractive helped with that claim too.
Sinners and overlords would kill an exorcist if they got the chance, that much was a given. While most hellborn demons wouldn't necessarily have any vendetta against an exorcist, Vaggie was sure from what she read that an imp or hellhound would be thrilled to dispose of her. Plus, imps were shorter and had horns and tails while Hellhounds obviously looked like dogs. Though in a way this demon did have a snout looking mouth and nose. But she didn't have the ears or tail.
A succubus, however, would likely at least play with their victim first. Seducing an angel might be a once in a lifetime kinda thing.
Vaggie was not thrilled at the idea of being lured into bed just to be killed the next morning. Not that she could do anything against it with how weak she was right now. But avoiding such acts would be preferable. She’d only consider it willingly if it meant more time and a chance to escape.
But she could have sworn that she was missing something important about succubus that this woman didn't have. Maybe more than one thing.
And this demon in particular looked rather familiar, but she couldn't put a name to it. Her mind was still so fuzzy at the moment.
The demon reached out a hand to angel. Vaggie flinched slightly but when that hand stoped short of a foot from her, she relaxed, sorta. She by no means trusted that this demon wouldn't hurt just because she bandaged her eye.
Vaggie stared up at the blonde demon. Gold eyes peered into her pale pink ones. They were urging her to take the hand. But Vaggie honestly didn't know if she had the strength anymore, even if if she wanted to take it.
Then the demon spoke. "Do you have anyone I can take you to? Family? Friends? Or...do you need a place to crash?" An invitation was not on the list of things Vaggie would have expected. She did need a place to rest and recover, but should she risk it? What was this demon’s game, what angle were they getting at? Though... how much longer could she live out here? Everything hurt.
Very slowly, Vaggie lifted her hand and hesitantly placed it in the blonde “Do you have room?” Her voice came out raw and tired. Much to her surprise, and maybe adding a little to her fear, the demons smiled brightly. Vaggie was hoisted to her feet. She couldn't deny that the demon was being surprisingly gentle even with her obvious strength, but her back hurt like bloody hell.
"I'm Charlie." The blonde spoke. "What about you?"
The angel breathed heavily as her legs shook beneath her. She was unable to speak and started to slip against Charlie's side. The blonde looked alarm and scooped her up bridle style, much to Vaggie's dismay. But neither had time to think much on that before Vaggie inevitably passed out.
Who knew so much pain, blood loss, fear, and loneliness could make you pass out?
Charlie scurried through the streets and into her limo. She directed the little red demon back home.

Chapter Text
The next time Vaggie woke up, she was no longer in the dirty alley, nor was she in the arms of her "savior". Now she was in an unfamiliar room, clearly not one of heavens. Like the rest of hell, this bedroom was littered with red. The walls, the sheets, the carpet. Sure, they were different shades, but all the red was a little much. Sure, there were seemingly gold accents, but seriously, did they not have the resources for other colors?
Her head was all groggy, but she sat up anyways. She needed to know if she was in danger or not before allowing herself to rest any longer. A spike of pain shot through her whole body, making her gasp in pain, arching her back and gripping at the covered side of her face before falling back on the bed and wallowing in pain.
She heard shuffling to her left. The hair on the back of her neck rose and she instinctively reached for her spear, which she no longer had.
Vaggie looked over to find 'Charlie' waking up from her slumber. Apparently having fell asleep on the armchair, probably due to watching Vaggie sleep. Fucking weirdo
Charlie stretched with a yawn before rubbing her eyes. She absently glanced over at the bed before looking down again. When her mind processed that there was something different from earlier, she perked up and spun her head in the angel direction.
Vaggie froze and clutched the blanket. "You're awake!" Charlie exclaimed happily and stood up to walk over to her. Vaggie’s eye darted around for some means of protection, but she couldn't find one in time before the demon was next her. "How's your head feeling? I took off the bandages I put over your eye earlier and replaced them with new ones after cleaning the wound. It was probably best you were out at the time. I'm sure that would have hurt." The blonde spoke quickly with a positive tone all while she reached out at Vaggie's face. After Vaggie pulled away she stopped but continued talking.
"I checked the rest of your body to see if there was anything else to be attended to, and man, I was not prepared for those gnarly wounds on your back! Did your form have wings before? Not a lot of sinners have them. Sorry you lost them." Charlie rambled on. The mention of her back wounds and the nonchalant comment of her being a sinner made Vaggie freeze. The demon didn't know Vaggie was an angel. That's why she hadn't killed her yet. She was so fucking fucked.
Charlie was seen monkeying with some medical supplies "The wounds looked fresh; I'm assuming the exorcist that attacked you took them. Ugh I hate those assholes. I mean- how can they do this to people! Sure, they might be sinners, and they did bad stuff in life, but they're still people! And they already are suffering enough with hell. Sometimes I just want to- to- UGH." Yep. Fucked.
Then Vaggie realized something. Charlie saw her back. Which, one, was there not golden blood that gave her away? And two, did she fucking undress her?
"I do wonder though, if it is fresh, why is there no blood? Same with your eye. The skin is black and charred, almost burnt looking, as if well- you'd been burnt. But I doubt that's the case." Well, that answered one question. But she didn't really know how to answer that.
"Charlie, was it?" She was surprised by how raw her own voice was, but it made sense. She lost a lot of blood and hadn't eaten or drank in, wait how long was she out for?
"Yep! Charlie's my name. Oh, I never got yours." That sounded like an invite to introduce herself if she ever heard one. "It's... Vaggie. Hey um... did you-" somehow Charlie knew exactly what she was getting at. "Uh yea- haha..." she laughed nervously. "I had to check every where to make sure you were ok- but I swear I didn't look longer than necessary! And I covered you back up as quickly as I could!" The demon held up her hands defensively. She looked so desperate to be believed.
Vaggie wasn't sure if the claim was valid or not, but for her own sanity she decided to trust it.
She also noticed that she was no longer in the outfit she had previously been in before, but now in a tank top and oversized sweatpants. "Sorry if the tank top is weird. It was the closest thing to your size." Vaggie tried not to think about wearing stranger's clothes at the moment.
"...how long was I out?" She asked hesitantly. Charlie hummed and pulled out her phone. "About 7 hours." She clicked the devise off and set it aside. Vaggie stared blankly at her.
7 hours
the after-extermination party would ending about now.
Vaggie never had been a big fan of the celebration. She was usually tired and just wanted to shower and rest. But the girl made a point to show up and be active. Seems she'll be missing out from here on out. Lute probably twisted her fall into some sick betrayal.
"I know it's a long time but honestly you needed the rest. You could probably use some more even. I'm sure your back doesn't feel that great." That was for sure. Her back was burning like it had been dipped in the hottest pits of hell's lava, then torn through be several layers of rose thorns in which several have been left scattered in the wound. Her eye hurt just as bad but was more emotional damage. Her view of the world was all abstracted, in more ways than one. Physically that everything was blurry, well maybe that was a head injury. But she lost half her vision and will likely be running into things for a while.
Mentally her view of the world changed as heaven discarded her. Heaven was supposed to be infinite, forever. She trusted that. So even when she believed that what her work could be wrong, a sin, she never spoke out about it. It couldn't be a sin because she was told to do it by angels. She trusted them. Angels were never wrong.
She trusted she would be brought home after extermination. She trusted that she would be at that party. She trusted she wouldn't ever be left to the devises of a demon.
She trusted all the wrong people.
Now she was stuck here with 'Charlie'. A demon she didn't know anything about, yet said demon had seen her naked, sealed her wounds, clothed her, and given her a bed. What kind of trick was this? Heal her and get her in good health before using her in bed? Was the demon going to take her soul?
Originally, she thought Charlie was a succubus. Sinners would have killed Vaggie for being an exorcist angel. But now, she knows that Charlie perceived her as sinner, which opened the possibility of Charlie being a sinner as well.
Yeah, she was definitely not a succubus. They had pink skin, didn't they? Maybe horns and a tail as well? Most sinners have horns too, but Charlie didn't? This girl was surly a mystery.
At least her memory was clearing up a bit. She still couldn’t figure out where she recognized Charlie from.
Charlie seemed to notice the off look in the angel's eyes. "Whatcha thinking about?" Uh, would it be rude to ask what she was? Should she just ask a different question? "Where are we?" It would be a good to get a good idea of where she was before inevitably escaping the demons grasp.
Charlie paused, blinked, furrowed her eyebrows and stared intensely at Vaggie. Vaggie sat ridged. Had that been a bad question? She saw as Charlie's face slowly fell into concern. "You don't know you're in hell?" The demon asked softly. Vaggie froze. Charlie had misinterpreted her question. Should she correct her? Or should she use this to her advantage, make it all the more realistic that she's a sinner?
Slowly Vaggie shook her head and feigned fear with a wide eye. Charlie's face fell in horror. "Oh no! Was this your first day!? Fuck that's bad luck. On extermination day? Fuck. I'm so sorry." Vaggie tilted her head. "Why are you sorry?" As if this girl actually cared. "Because you're one of my people! I care about all of you." What did she mean by that? Vaggie couldn't help but wonder what kind of person Charlie was like in her life.
"Oh shoot! That's means you don't know who I am-" before Charlie could get onto explaining who she was, a small demon- goat? Came bursting into the room, quickly followed by another of a lighter fur color. They tussled on the floor on their way to Charlie. Both bleated happily at her before noticing the unfamiliar guest.
Vaggie froze. What were they? Some type of hellborn? Two sets of big eyes stared into her one. They seemed to be studying her. Could they sense her angelic light?
"Hey guys! This is Vaggie! She's going to be staying with us for a while." Wait what? She did NOT agree to that. She had to get out of here as quick as she could. Well- if this demon proves to be dangerous anyway. "Well hold on now-" she couldn't get much out before Charlie interrupted her. "This is Razzle and Dazzle!" She exclaimed. Vaggie didn't really understand which was which but that wouldn't matter once she was gone or killed.
But curiosity got the better of her for one thing. "What are they?" Charlie stopped fussing over the twins fighting and stood up to face the angel. "Oh! They're dragons! I suppose they are hellborn technically. My dad actually made them for me!"
Vaggie paused. "Wha-" she was ONCE AGAIN interrupted as a feline jumped up from the floor and onto the bed. In response, Vaggie flinched back, expecting an attack before her mind processed what it was. It wasn't like any cat she'd seen in heaven or on earth. It had similarities like pointed ears and a tuxedo coat, but it only had one large eye. One eye, just like her.
Despite not knowing if the creature was dangerous (being hell there was a very high possibility of such) Vaggie reached out to pet its head. "Oh KeeKee!" The blonde said happily. The cat rubbed its head into Vaggie's hand. "Aww she likes you~" Charlie gushed.
"Really?" Vaggie asked. In life she had been a bit of a cat person, but she never had time to really get to know one. "Oh yea, just look at her! Trust me, she liked you."
Trust huh? That was a funny thing to think about out right now. There was no way she was gonna trust a demon.
Why was she just sitting here? Here with the demon's companions, her goons. She should be figuring out the girl's master plan! Not petting some cat!
She wanted to ask a question but at this point she feared another critter would just show up in response.
"Well now that you've met all my guest, can I get you anything?" Guest? More like pets, but who was she to judge? Sounded like there weren't any more here as well. "Could I get some water?" Her throat was absolutely burning.
"Oh my gosh! Of course! Where are my manners!?" She jumped up and rushed out of the room, calling over her shoulder. "I'll be back before you can say, Exterminations are the worst!"
Vaggie looked down at the twins as they continued battling and bleating.
Wait. Did she say they were dragons

Chapter Text
Charlie kept coming into Vaggie's room all day, well- technically it is the demon's room. This was her house after all. God, she hoped this wasn't Charlie's bed.
Every half-hour or so Charlie would come in with either a small snack that wouldn't upset the injured girl's stomach, a glass of water, the idea that she should keep Vaggie company with conversation or being on a mission to check Vaggie's wounds. Vaggie wasn't sure how to feel about it all. On one hand, she didn't want to get close to this demon who was clearly trying to earn her trust for devilish reasons. On the other hand, ...she didn't really want to be alone.
She stoped complaining at about the 4th intrusion. After two days past, she expected it.
Recently she had climbed out of bed to try and walk to the bathroom. Charlie had been carrying her there the last few days and Vaggie did not want to have to rely on her for that anymore. For 1, it was embarrassing. 2, she was a grown adult woman and used to serving rather than being served.
As one might expect, she collapsed to the floor after only a few feet with pain overriding her systems. It wasn't long until Charlie entered the room and rushed to her side. She helped Vaggie to the bathroom after giving her a full look over and fretting about her not doing it again.
While the Angel was in the bathroom, Charlie took it upon herself to tidy the room a little. She made the bed and collected all the medical supplies and moved it to one pile. She smiled to herself as she stood back. By then Vaggie was ready to come out. She managed to get her pants up and wash her hands but was too tired to make it out.
Vaggie's was pleasantly surprised at the tidied bed. She had not had the strength to make it, nor strength for cleaning which was hard for as she could be a bit of a neat freak at times. Odd for an exorcist and hard to live by when your job includes getting dirty.
The demon tried small talk with her, but it mostly ended with Charlie rambling to herself. Vaggie wasn't in the mood to talk these days. But it was nice to hear another's voice, one that didn't presently seem to be out for vengeance against her, and at least she was learning about her captor.
Charlie must not have many friends- at least she doesn't talk about them. She's mentioned her dad a few times but only in short comments. Oddly she hasn't mentioned a mom. Was she out of the picture? As far as she knew, Charlie was a sinner and sinners couldn't have children. (That did make her wonder about the little boy she spared merely 4 days ago) Maybe her mom when to heaven? Or maybe hadn't died yet? With her comments about her dad, it seemed as though she talks to him which leads her to believe he's down here somewhere.
She brings the critters in and talks about them. Razzle is the lighter red one while the darker one is Dazzel. Who knows how long she'll remember that.
Dazzel seemed to take an interest in her. He climbed in the bed occasionally and tried to snuggle into her despite her protest. Charlie just found it cute and made no attempts to stop him. Torturous demon.
"I still can't believe these little fellas are dragons." Vaggie deadpanned. Charlie simply covered her mouth with one hand while she chuckled, which Vaggie found oddly endearing before she scolded herself. "That's because this isn't their true forms! Oh, they're just amazing! But they only transform when I'm mad or need them. So, I honestly hope you won't never have to see that."
She wasn't quite sure how to feel about that...
—
Today Charlie talked about her plans for the day while she idly dusted the shelves and swept the floor, doing everything to clean the room and make it comfortable for her guest. "I need to get estimates from contract workers for my project at some point. Sooner is better than later at this point. I was also thinking about going into town to get you some stuff. Specifically, clothes. But also, probably daily essentials like toothbrushes- do you have a preference on what kind? What about flavor for toothpaste? You'll also want- I need to get a list." Quicker than Vaggie was able to process what the Blonde had even said, she was gone.
Vaggie groaned and leaned back into her pillows. How long until she would over come this pain?
Charlie ran to her art supply cabinet and pulled out a paper list and a pencil before pausing. Maybe Vaggie would like something to do? All she does is lay in her bed all day, and that was because that's all she cando. Before heading back upstairs, Charlie grabbed a few pieces of blank paper and a box of crayons. Maybe this could entertain her guest.
Her first guest. This was so exciting! She had her first real guest! She needed to finish the renovations quickly! So far, the girl didn't seem so bad. Charlie just knew that there were others as well, ones that didn't deserve hell. Or at the very least had the ability to change and be redeemed.
One problem with Vaggie though is that she didn't trust Charlie. Charlie realized she had to move slowly when going to check the sinner's eye, other wise she'd flinch away in a panic. Poor girl, Charlie could only imagine the pain of losing such a valuable body part. Especially to a soul on their first day in hell. Talk about a harsh greeting.
Charlie felt it was her mission to give the girl peace at mind. Whether that was offering her food and shelter or eventually raising her to heaven. Buutttttt she would love to get to know her first. Sadly, Vaggie doesn't talk much. Perhaps in time once she learns to trust Charlie, she'll open up a bit more. But then again, after what she just went through, going nonverbal could be a trauma response. Perhaps she should look into therapist? That could also be a good addition to her eventual hotel!
Maybe having her own clothes would help? Oh! That reminds her, Vaggie hasn't changed today.
With that thought in mind, Charlie ran back upstairs and grabbed a new set of clothes. And long tank top and a pair of sweatpants that would inevitably be too big for her.
She took that and the paper and crayons all up to the room she kept Vaggie in.
Vaggie was able to sit up partially now which made it easier for her to accept the paper and be able to color. She didn't seem all that interested to do any while Charlie was in the room, but once the blonde left, Vaggie began her work. She drew a koala, her favorite animal. She doubted there were any in hell- or any cute ones. Maybe there were demon ones, but they wouldn’t be the same as the cute and cuddly ones they had in heaven.
And judging by Charlie reaction to the artwork, that was likely the case. "A koala? I don't think we have those down here. Are they an Earth animal? Wait- we do have something similar. Look!" Charlie pulled up a picture of a scaly creature with two small horns sticking out just above its forehead. Vaggie smiled nervously. "Ah...adorable."
Hell was definitely an adjustment.
Notes:
Sorry this chapter is late and that it’s not written the best. I’ve had a lot going on the last few weeks that kinda drained me. So I finished this but i didn’t read through it as much. I started the next chapter. It will be quite similar to this one.
There’ll be a couple more chapters of them growing trust with each other but then I’m going to probably do some time skips to episode in the series.
Comments, questions, corrections, concerns?

Chapter Text
Life slowly fell into a routine for the two girls. In the morning Charlie would greet Vaggie with breakfast (usually pancakes or donuts now that she is able to eat with a less likely chance of vomiting it all up later) and a pair of clothes. Yesterday Charlie went out and picked up a few outfits along with other various items. Not every day Vaggie had the strength to change, brush her hair and teeth, use the bathroom, and hold conversation in a timely matter, so mornings were usually prolonged and stretched so that she could rest.
3 times a day she took pain killers. Everything still hurt, but at least she was healing. With the speed she was healing she could expect it was from her angelic abilities (which she could only pray Charlie didn't notice.) It wasn't like it was healing incredibly fast or anything, just at a much faster rate than a wound so severe should.
By afternoon, Vaggie has eaten again something small and easy on her stomach before lying in bed again. Charlie had recently been finding little things for her to do. Things like coloring, reading, small games. Vaggie didn't necessarily want to accept things from the demon, fearing they may be some sort of trick or trap to obtain her soul, but the boredom was killing her. In heaven she spent most her time training, and when she wasn't doing that, she was conversing with her fellow exorcists. Now, she couldn't get up and stretch without the risk of angering the wounds. She had definitely made process, just not enough.
One thing she had definitely taken notice about Charlie is her childish personality. Perhaps it's all facade, but with how happy and content the blonde looks when shes coloring messily, or playing Go fish, Uno, Candy Land, she seemed to just be a happy and energetic demon. Maybe she died at a young age and is stuck in the mentally while her body ages. But sinners don't age, do they? Maybe Charlie had a suppressed childhood and wasn't able to do these things. It would seem possible with the weak comments of family and maybe linked to why she's in hell.
That's another thing that makes Vaggie not want to trust Charlie's facade. How would someone so happy and supposedly kind end up in hell? She had to have done some incredibly heinous act, one worth an eternity of suffering. How could she just be relaxed near her?
But as for now, Charlie hasn't shown or given even a hint at a devilish plan. So, what the rush to get out immediately? She probably wouldn't be able to walk down the hall for at least another week or so. So why not just enjoy the company?
In the mid afternoon, Charlie often brought snacks. Sometimes it was popcorn, crackers, pretzels, or even ice cream. Vaggie usually spent this time munching on whatever while she read one of the many books Charlie brought her when she found out Vaggie liked reading. She never read much in heaven, having been too busy training. There was little free time. But there were times she was able to read, but it often took her a full year to get through one book. So far, she's already finished 2 in 3 days down here. They weren't books she would have personally picked out, but it was something to occupy her mind.
In the late afternoon, things became a little more complicated. With Vaggie injuries being so severe, they need daily care. Her bandages needed to be removed so Charlie can check for infection or any other problem that could occur. To do her back, Vaggie laid stomach down on the bed. While Charlie's abnormally warms hands traced her scares, her back twitched. She couldn't decipher if the touch was comforting or threatening.
At times she swore she felt the demon eyeing her. Maybe not necessarily in a bad way but it was unnerving at times to bear and vulnerable with the demon.
But she didn't have much choice. She still was in a lot of pain and who knew if she would even have the strength to do her back. That's why she had to trust Charlie with it.
Next, they had to do her eye- or what was left around it. The black crusty skin would be gently wiped down and checked for infection, similar to the back. Oddly, Vaggie found this to be more stressful than her back wounds and being laid naked in front of the demon. Charlie was always to close, and Vaggie couldn't help but flinch every time the demon got too close to her other eye.
Charlie was always sure to apologize and do her best to avoid it.
It was always a relief when they were done.
In the evenings, Charlie would bring her whatever supper it is she made. Then Charlie would lay on the end of the bed with her. Like earlier in the day, the blonde would spend time with her. Chatting or just being a presence incase her guest needed something. But when it's later in the day she liked to simply relax, maybe watch something on her phone, discreetly titling so Vaggie could watch. It was a mundane life, but Vaggie couldn't say she hated it
As two weeks went by, she simply allowed herself to give in. Not fully trusting Charlie but allowing herself to relax. She trusted that the demon would be constantly checking up on her and give her stuff she needed. She couldn't confidently say she trusted Charlie, but it was enough. There was always a chance the demon had something planned for Vaggie once she was fully healed. But that might take awhile yet so what's the rush to prove it?
Despite her original distaste in the demon, Vaggie's felt like she needed to speak. Not just another one of there half conversations, but really say something she should have said day one.
"Hey Charlie?" She asked tiredly as she glance over at Charlie who was coloring at the foot of the bed. "Hm? Do you need something?" The demon was already getting up to get it. Vaggie smiled faintly and shook her head. Charlie tilted her head and sat back down. "What is it then?"
"I just wanted to say...Thank you."

Chapter Text
Things have actually been going pretty well now. Vaggie's been here for a full month and has made immaculate progress. She could now get ready in the morning in timely manner and make it to the bathroom herself. The progress combined with the ability to do more things had an impact on Vaggie's mood. She was actually more responsive now that the pain was bearable. Sure, she still felt horrible, but it wasn't as bad.
At this point she stopped being as suspicious of Charlie. All the worry and stress weren't going to help her recover. For awhile she had been concerned that Charlie might know she was an angel, but that seemed unlikely.
"Soooo how's my favorite guest doing?" Charlie walked over to Vaggie and set down a couple pairs of clothes. "I'm your only guest, Charlie." Despite her rather flat tone, Vaggie still smiled softly and sat up to inspect the new outfits. "Are these for me? Charlie you shouldn't have."
Charlie chuckled and sat down next to her on the bed. "These are just some things I picked up. You could pick one to wear today and I can put the rest in your dresser." Vaggie smiled. "Well thank you." Over the weeks Charlie had obtained and bought tons of stuff for the angel. Vaggie worried about it a lot. She shouldn't be leaching off someone she barely knows. Well actually at this point she knows a lot. Charlie is definitely a talker.
Vaggie picked an outfit and carefully got out of bed. Charlie watched her incase she needed help before moving to put the extra clothes away. "I'll go ahead and get breakfast going. Call if you need me?" Charlie asked. Vaggie nodded and walked slowly to the bathroom.
The day went smoothly like others. She ate, relaxed, checked her wounds, relaxed, slept, repeated.
Today was a little different.
The two sat together, Charlie carefully pealing away Vaggie's eye bandage. "You really think I can leave it off now?" She asked skeptically. Charlie nodded and set the used bandages aside. She stood over Vaggie and looked into the back scar, having Vaggie tilt her head up a bit. It was an odd position, not one Vaggie would have expected herself to be in, not with a demon at least.
She still flinched but it was less drastic now. While Charlie never said anything about it, Vaggie could tell she was ecstatic about the progress. Maybe she really wasn't that bad after all.
From what Vaggie's seen, Charlie loves the citizens of hell, which is still off but it's cute.
Did she just say cute? She'll unpack that later.
Maybe Charlie was a bad person on Earth and coming to hell and seeing all the bad things people do had made her realize she didn't want to be that anymore, she changed. Redeemed herself even.
How else would a heart so pure end up here? Unless it's just a trap. A false personality. But Vaggie desperately didn't want that to be true. She wanted- needed someone to trust. Especially now when she's in hell. She doesn't know how to survive down here. She needs someone to rely on. Other wise she is dead.
She was supposed to die. The scars prove that. The scars that Charlie has been working so hard to heal. One she was telling her right now wouldn't need to be bandaged anymore.
Vaggie was...hesitant, to say the least.
"We haven't had any complications. No infections or abnormal swelling. It never even bled. Do you not bleed?" Vaggie didn't really listen to the question. How would she have answered anyway?
Charlie noticed her silence and went on. "Well whatever. It looks healed! You don't have to wear these anymore, isn't that great!?" Charlie smiled wildly and held up a roll of bandages before tossing them behind herself.
No, it wasn't great.
Vaggie had seen what she looked like without her eye. It was horrible, horrendous. A sign of her betrayal. How could she just walk around with her ugly scars flashing out!?
Her breathing picked up as she turned her head away from Charlie, trying to hide her impurities. But what's the point? Turing her front away only revealed her back, bringing her other scars into the picture.
Her wings. Her poor beautiful wings trashed and discarded. Pulled from her traitorous body. Another sign of sin.
No matter which way she turned, she was bearing herself to the demon in front of her, giving way to her disgraceful ass.
Charlie noticed her twitching and refusing to face her and frowned. "Vaggie?" She asked gently and brought a hand to Vaggie's chin and slowly swayed her to look back at her. The action caught Vaggie off guard and she blindly followed with a light blush. Seeing the concerned look on Charlie's face made her snap out of it.
"I-" she didn't really know what to say. 'I'm a total loser and would rather wear bandages everywhere my whole life than show off my weakness and downfall.' Her breathing picked up again and she pulled her face away from the blonde and tried positioning herself with all her wounds facing away from her.
Charlie looked at her in concern. She tried to reach out again. "Vaggie-" Her hand was slapped away. Vaggie quickly stood up from the bed, a bad call, she tumbles to the floor. Despite all her progress she was still weak and standing up so quickly while also on the verge of a panic attack did not help.
Charlie gasped in alarm and quickly got off the kneel down next to her. "Vaggie! Are you ok?" She didn't attempt to touch her this time, having learned her lesson, but she stayed close. Vaggie continued breathing heavily with her hand fisted tightly over the hole in her face. Everything around her seemed to fade. It was all spinning, everything hurt, she couldn't breathe, she couldn't hear, she couldn't focus.
Sinful filth
Suddenly she was slapped against the face. It wasn't hard by any means and wouldn't hurt after just a few moments, but it was enough to snap her out of whatever mindset she had been it.
She stared forward for a few minutes in shock before slowing turning her head to face the blonde. Charlie was staring at her with those large eyes, currently wider than usual. She held the hand she slapped her with tightly in the other. She was clearly worried and unsure of her actions.
"What- what the fuck!?" Vaggie asked. Charlie panicked. "You were freaking out! I had to do something! I didn't- I didn't mean to hurt you I just, I- I'm sorry!" Vaggie stared at her in shock, but she could tell Charlie didn't have any malicious intent behind hitting her. The angel groaned and rubbed her face. Charlie went quiet and continued to look worried. "Vaggie... is everything alright? Is it about... your eye?" She was hesitant to ask but that was the only explanation she could think of for Vaggie's reaction.
After a long pause, Vaggie slowly nodded. Vaggie then brought her knees to her chest and folded her arms on top of them and hiding her face. Charlie's frowned deepened. "Do you want to talk about?" She questioned. Vaggie didn't move. Did she want to talk about it? She doubted Charlie would judge her, but... did Vaggie really want to listen to all the pep talk the blonde would give her? About how she shouldn't be ashamed? She doesn't know anything. She wouldn't get it. Her words would be pointless.
But maybe it would be easier if someone else knew of her pain? "I don't... know." She sighed and gripped the fabric of her sleeve. Charlie slowly snaked an arm around Vaggie. The angel tensed momentarily before giving in and relaxing. Charlie resisted the urge to squeal. Vaggie never let her touch her or hold her.
"Are you scared?" Was she scared? Maybe. But of what? She wasn't scared of demons. She slowly shook her head. Charlie hummed for a moment. "Do you not want people to see it?" Vaggie didn't respond. She did slowly peek her eye out to look at the blonde. Charlie smiled softly. Her heart ached to see her guest so upset. So, she stood up, pulling away her arm and walked to the closet. Vaggie lifted her head and watched her in confusion.
"I actually bought you something else while I was uptown." She pulled out a small bag. "Maybe a couple." She walked back over to the angel and sat down with her legs crossed and handed the bag to Vaggie. The angel slowly reached out and accepted it. Her legs moved to lay say sideways while she continued to lean back against the bed. She hesitantly looked into the bag and pulled out one of the several similar items. "It's... an eye patch." She stated and looked over at the blonde that gave them to her. Charlie nodded. "I had a feeling this might happen, soooo I bought you a few to choose from. If you don't like any, we can go out shopping and you could pick one!" She smiled happily.
Vaggie looked down and the bag. There appeared to be two more asking with the one in her hand. She didn't deserve any one this. How could she just let Charlie buy all this stuff for her? She had to thank her somehow. Where was she even getting the money?
"Thanks Charlie..." she murmured softly and looked at the eye patches. One was bright pink and had a big eye on it. Definitely not her style, but it did scream Charlie. The next patch was black with a skull on it, something she could see pirates wearing. A little closer to what she'd like but the idea of looking like a pirate was not all that amusing to her.
The last patch stood out to her. It was a dark gray that would match her skin tone and had a large red ❌ on it. She honesty really liked it. It screamed exorcist with the X. All exorcist helmets had one. But dispute liking it she couldn't help but wonder if this was Charlie's way at hinting, she was an angel. No, she would just come out and say it, wouldn't she? Or she'd kill her. There was no way Charlie would accept her if she knew what she was.
But Vaggie still felt like she had to pay for her sins, and wearing an item that discreetly gave hint to what she was just felt right.
She lifted it to her face and wrapped the strap around her head and under her hair. Once she had it adjust, she turned to the blonde. Charlie gave her a fond look. Vaggie blushed and tucked a strand a hair behind her ear that came loose. "I think I like this one." She confirmed.

Chapter Text
6 weeks. It has been six weeks. And Vaggie was feeling a lot better! She was able to walk with less brakes. Just yesterday she went without bandages on her back. It felt odd going bare after wearing them for so long, but it had felt so much weirder when she first started walking without her wings. She had noticed when she first lost them, but now that she was walking more, it was more apparent.
So far adjusting to the loss of weight had gone well besides a few hiccups. Charlie was there every step of the way. It made Vaggie want to cry. She could feel herself giving in and trusting Charlie, a demon. And it scared her. How could she trust her? Especially after Vaggie's own kind, angels betrayed her.
Perhaps it was Stockholm syndrome?
Either way, Charlie was there and helping her. And with her progress and ability to walk, Charlie suggested they go out for a stroll. Maybe go shopping so Vaggie can choose her own clothing.
Vaggie was NOT happy, but how could she refuse such a request? If she got to sick of seeing demons and not killing them, or if she gets to weak and tired, Charlie will take her home.
How far would she even make it? She only made it down the stairs two days ago. that had been quite the experience. She only had one staircase to go down, Charlie probably didn't want to carry her much higher in the condition she had been in, but there were several more level that she could see.
On the main floor was a large living room and a kitchen. There were other rooms she couldn't see in. The place wasn't in the best condition. It seemed the blonde lived by herself besides her furry friends. Vaggie could understand it being under kept when you're one person trying to clean I giant building.
That brought another question to mind. Who the hell was this? How was she so rich? She had a practical mansion but never left. Where was she getting the money from? Several businesses ran by her souls?
Wing backed down here again really brought the questions back. She wanted to ask- but that would be rude, wouldn't it? Maybe the demon would just tell her in one of her mindless rambles. But she hadn't done so yet. There hadn't been a word on how or where she got money. She just insisted that she had plenty and that Vaggie did t need to worry about paying her back.
Charlie helped Vaggie to the door. This would be her first time leaving the building over the last month. This would be her first time in hell on a non extermination day.
Charlie opened the door. Vaggie was met with the sight of red. Because everything in hell is always red. Sinners ran wildly, throwing bombs, stabbing each other in the back, selling drugs. They had a view of it all from on top of the hill the building she'd been staying in resided. Before she could even think about how this place felt vaguely familiar, Charlie was dragging her down the path. Vaggie stumbled and struggle to stay up right as they went down the hill. She had less to balance herself with now and her depth perception was messed up. Charlie was quick to steady her.
The blonde looked down at her worriedly. She glanced around in thought. Then she got an idea. Vaggie jumped as the demon let out a high whistle. She was about to ask what was happening when Dazzle (was that dazzle?) came flying out and halting in front of them. "Get the car." She commanded. The little dragon saluted and flew off. With in moments a black limo was skittering to halt beside them. Vaggie stared with her one wide eye. Seriously how rich was this woman?
Charlie held the door open while Vaggie step in. The interior was nice, nothing special. Not much had probably change since the demon bought it. The was a small compartment filled with candy. That was the only thing that really screamed Charlie. The demon sure loved her sweets. Maybe that's why she's so sweet.
Instead of sitting across from Vaggie, Charlie sat next to her. "Take us to the mall? I'd like to get Vaggie some more clothes." Vaggie was about to intervene to remind Charlie that she had bought her plenty of clothes, but then she realized something. Was dazzle driving? She was going to say something, but the car was already moving down the hill. Her fingers gripped onto the cushion. There weren't any seat belts.
Charlie looked down at her and placed a large hand on her small one and offered a smile. "Don't worry. He's a good driver." Vaggie smiled nervously. We'll see.
The ride was mostly smooth. As smooth as traveling in hell could probably get. There were several bumps that Vaggie didn't want to think about. Several sudden stops as sinners ran across the street, some speeding through sketchy areas, and nervous foot tapping later, they arrived.
The mall was huge and sketchy looking. Charlie hopped out of the car and took Vaggie's hand to help her as she stepped out as well. The demon led her inside. The second she stepped in, she was already regretting this. The mall was lined with sex shops, lingerie mannequins lining the windows. There were a few more friendly stores scattered about like the one Charlie was leading her to (thank God. She didn't know what she would do if Charlie chose now to betray her. What if she had made her pick out the toy, she would destroy her with? Ugh.)
Sinners of all kinds walked in and out of stores, some pickpocketing and some flat out stealing. Some wore heavily revealing outfits that made her eye drift away.
She wasn't new to seeing any of this stuff. It just felt different to see sinners without the intent of killing them. But all of the bad stuff she's seen them doing does make her feel better about her kill count.
Recently she's had plenty of time to think of her actions. Yes, most sinners deserve to die. But why has there been this odd feeling in her chest? It's been there since she saw the kid. And it's grown since knowing Charlie.
Vaggie may not have known the kid, but how could a kid deserve Hell? And from what's she's seen of Charlie, she doesn't deserve Hell either!
Blasphemy
Traitor
Sinful
Mercy. In contaminated her. Even looking around now she could see sinners that weren't sinning. A pair of girls talked and walked with a few bags, smiles on their faces. Not sinister, just relaxed smiles.
A tall sinner walked with a younger one, keeping a protective eye on him. Perhaps they are both from an illegal family business that got them both in hell.
Some sinners kept to themselves as they shopped.
They were people living their lives. Of course, they had to have horrible things and deserved hell but...
"Vaggie?" Charlie asking her name brought her out of her thoughts. Apparently, she had zoned out and stopped watching. The blonde was tilting her head at her with a concerned pout. It was kinda cute.
"Sorry hun, just- lost in thought" She walked beside Charlie as they went to walk the last of the distance to the store. Vaggie completely missed the faint blush on Charlie's pale skin.
This store was more welcoming than the majority of the mall. There were rows of clothes for them to look through. Charlie had already pick out a plethora for her back home.
Home?
"Ooh look at this!" Vaggie turned to see Charlie holding up a baggy sweater. Vaggie smiled softly and turned back to looking at shirt. She didn't want to spend more of Charlie's money, but maybe she should? Get as much as she can in clothes in case Charlie is actually using her.
She doubted that was the case.
Charlie, unsure if Vaggie wanted the sweater, decided to get it anyway. The two shopped in silence. By the time they were done, Vaggie's had picked out a few outfits while Charlie struggled to carry what she picked for her. Vaggie stared wide eyed at her. Charlie smiled sheepishly. "I just want to make sure you have enough clothes!" Vaggie shook her head with a smile. "I think I've got enough to last me till the next extermination."
Charlie pouted but walked to the register, with the clothes still in hand. She wasn't giving up that easily. Vaggie walked over at sat her own picked out fits. Hell had a decent number of different styles. It wasn't hard for her to find a look that felt right to her. It was what you would call gothic. Maybe not totally, she still liked a bit of color, but the darker outfits she picked out would be fine.
The cashier scanned the clothes without much interest. Charlie gazed around until her eyes leaned on something. She let out a loud gasped and darted over to a wall of head accessories and quickly used her hight advantage to grasp a big, large, red bow near the top. She excitedly showed it Vaggie. "Oh, you have to wear this!" She gasped. "It'll go perfect with this shirt!" She dug into the pile of clothes and pulled out a nice red shirt matched the bow. It was the same red as the suit Charlie wore.
Vaggie stared for several moments before slowly reaching to take the bow. "It is beautiful." She admitted softly. She was then surprised by Charlie quickly snatching the bow and tiring Vaggie around and tying it into her hair. Vaggie blushed lightly and look in a mirror. "Ahhh! you look so good! We're getting it."
After Charlie payed they both left, three bags in each hand. Charlie offered multiple times to carry it all, but Vaggie turned it down. She needed to work out again after laying around for so long.
Vaggie's mind was still on how Charlie bought and spent so much money on Vaggie without even a pinch in her eyebrows. Vaggie's had caught sight of the demon's card. A gold and red base with what looked like an apple on the middle. Strange.
They walked out of the mall and to the car. They place the bags on the floor and sat down. "Sooooo how about we get something to eat?" Charlie asked. Vaggie nodded. She could go for some food.

Chapter Text
Vaggie and Charlie sat down at the cafe, menus in hand, and appetites to fill. Vaggie scanned through the options for anything familiar. She didn't want to end up ordering human flesh or anything. Eventually she settled for some variation of chicken while Charlie chose a steak. They placed their orders and waited. The two engaged in small talk until their food arrived. When it did, they quickly dug in.
Vaggie was still thinking as always. About Charlie's income and who she was. About sinners and their sins. About her actions and their consequences.
But she was also thinking about the odd looks her and Charlie were getting. Maybe she was just paranoid, but she could swear everyone was talking about her. There were sinners side eyeing them and whispering. It couldn’t be that easy to tell she wasn't from here, right? Maybe they were talking about Charlie? Possibly. She must be well known by some degree.
She ate quickly in hopes of getting out as soon as possible. Charlie looked at her in concerned. "Are you alright Vaggie?" Sweet Charlie, always so concerned about her. "Yea just...want to get home is all. Been out for a while, y'know." Charlie's eyes widen and sparkle. Vaggie raised a brow in confusion. "You...you called it home."
Vaggie paused. She did, didn't she. "Well... I guess it's growing on me.” Charlie squealed happily to which Vaggie blushed in embarrassment as others looked at them.
"Just eat your food hon."
They ate quickly but still enjoyed their meals. Charlie was just to excited at the revelation of Vaggie finally accepting her place as home. After Charlie payed with that same fancy looking card, they got up to leave. But as they were, Vaggie spotted Charlie sliding a couple hundred bills under her plate. "Charlie!? What are you doing?" Vaggie asked in alarm. Charlie looked up at her in alarm. "Leaving a tip? Why is something wrong?" She asked worriedly. Vaggie stood dumbfounded. "You're leaving that much for a tip?"
Charlie looked down at the money. "Do you think it's not enough?" She began pulling out her wallet. Vaggie shook her head frantically. "No! It's too much!" Charlie paused. "I have plenty of money Vaggie. I don't like...flaunting it. I like to give back to my people."
Vaggie stood even more dumbfounded. "Where do you even get all this money? I know it's rude to ask but seriously." She'd been wanting to know forever. Charlie chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of her neck. "My bad gives me a large allowance. Scared I won't make it on my own and all that." She looked kind of bothered by the admission.
Vaggie frowned. Who was her dad?
Charlie gently grabbed her arm. "How about we get out of here?" Vaggie nodded and stared at the hand holding her. "Yea...ok."
They walked out of the building and made way for home. As they walked, Vaggie felt Charlie's hand bump her own. Vaggie looked up at Charlie in confusion, only to blush at the sight of Charlie blushing and not looking down at her, but hand held out, silently asking her to take it. The Angel blushed and interlocked their hands.
She felt the demon give a light squeeze in appreciation. They walked several minutes in silence. Dazzle would be meeting them somewhere soon. Charlie had wanted her to try walking a for a while to give her muscles a workout. And a workout it was.
It was a decent distraction to focus on rather that the feeling of being watched. All day it's felt like people were looking at her and talking about her when they think she isn't paying attention. She could have sworn she's even seen a few demons take photos.
Like right now there was a sinner that snapped a photo on their phone.
Vaggie gripped Charlie's hand tighter as she stared the demon down. The sinner looked a little surprised and took another photo.
Charlie seemed to take notice. While the blonde smiled and waved at the sinner, she discreetly blocked their view of Vaggie beside her. Vaggie looked up at her questioningly. While she did appreciate the help, why was Charlie acting nice to them but at the same time acting like they could be a threat? Or was she just being possessive?
"Charlie... I'm getting tired." Vaggie spoke up, wanting to just get back. Charlie looked down at her in concern. "We are almost at the rendezvous point. Can you make? I can carry you if not!" The blonde smiled. Vaggie blinked at her. "I uh- I'll be fine."
Charlie nodded and they continued walking.
By the time they made it, Dazzle had just pulled in. He peaked his head out the window and bleeped happily. Charlie chuckled and opened the door for Vaggie. The angel got in and sat while Charlie followed behind her.
The two girls arrived home. Vaggie tiredly walked to the couch and sat down, not really wanting to venture up the stairs at the moment and not wanting to ask Charlie to help her. Charlie happily followed her and sat down as well after grabbing the remote. "Wanna watch some tv?" The blonde asked even though she had already powered it on. Vaggie chuckled and gave a small nod. A movie popped up first, one Vaggie hadn't seen before. They decided to watch it to settle down from the day's events.
Over time Vaggie sensed Charlie slowly moving closer. It the past ten minutes Charlie had been consistently adjusting, and every time Vaggie could have sworn she moved and inch or two closer. The angel didn't know what to say or do so she just ignored it until Charlie was right next to her.
Hesitantly she glanced up at the demon who looked a little nervous and was blushing slightly, not looking back.
Vaggie smiled softly, and with a small blush on her face, leaned her head against Charlie shoulder. Judging by the growing blush in the blonde's face, Vaggie assumed it was alright with her.
They continued to stay like that for a while, besides Charlie eventually laying her head on top of Vaggie's. A while ago the movie had ended now so they were scrolling through channels to find something to watch. At some point they landed on a news station and decided on watching it for a bit.
Perhaps that was a mistake. Maybe hiding secrets was the mistake, even if it was more of an unspoken truth than a lie.
A picture appeared on the screen, blurred out for the moment as a new topic started. Katie Kill joy sat with her hands folded on her desk while her partner Tom shuffled through papers, she threw at him earlier.
As she stared speaking, Charlie froze.
"Some new hot gossip is spreading through hell! It seems Hell's princess finally got some game! We were sent photos just earlier today. They were clear of her walking with some sinner girl! Fucking gays these days ugh." The photo enlarged on the screen and unblurred. "Seriously though I doubt any of you give a fuck about whatever shit the princess got going on so let's move on!" The topic switched to another, but Vaggie didn't hear what. Her whole world had stopped. Everything was silent.
All she could see was the picture in her mind of her and Charlie walking hand in hand down the street. But that would mean Charlie is-
Charlie Morningstar. Daughter of Lucifer Morningstar. The Princess of Hell.
Everything made sense now. She should have figured it out sooner. That's why Charlie was familiar looking, she looked a lot like the descriptions of Lucifer. Pale skin, red circles, blonde, hooves. She was so stupid for not realizing it sooner!
That's why she was so rich- her dad- Lucifer, could probably poof money into existence!
Vaggie slowly pulled away from Charlie, staring dead up at her. Charlie smiled down at her nervously and rubbed her neck. "You...you're- you're that Charlie? That- you-...." Vaggie gripped onto the couch, her heart was pounding in her ears.
"Yea haha... I was totally going to tell you! I just thought, you were still new and nervous. If I told you, you'd freak out and be... scared of me." Charlie smiled sadly. She desperately wanted this to work out. Vaggie had finally been accepting her!
Vaggie swiftly stood up. "You're- no no no" she backed away and shook her head. Charlie stood up and stepped toward her in concern. "Vaggie-"
Vaggie panicked. "Stay back!"
Charlie's heart sank. She raised her hands submissively, trying to calm Vaggie down.
If Charlie is the princess of hell, there is no way she doesn't know I'm an angel. She must be using me, playing with her food. It was all a sick joke!
Vaggie backed away. This was all going wrong. She was finally trusting Charlie, but she kept this huge secret!
Hypocrite
Sure, Vaggie never told her she was an angel, but does it matter? She was surely dead now that she found out Charlie's secret.
Heaven says that Lucifer's daughter is worse than him himself. More cunning, vile, monstrous, evil. If you walked into her trap there was no crawling out, and Vaggie fell right in.
"Vaggie, I know this is hard to believe, but I'm not all that bad! Why do you look so scared? It's still me"
There's no way the persona Charlie had been putting on is actually her.
Vaggie needed to get out of here, otherwise she was toast. She looked towards the exit. Charlie immediately bristled. "Vaggie wait- we can talk about this!" But Vaggie was already running. Running for her life. Running from the demon chasing after her. She pushed through the doors and outside. As she stumbled down the hill, she realized why she recognized this place.
It was once owned by lucifer. Exorcist weren't allowed to go near it supposedly but none ever payed attention to that. The place had been beat down for centuries, so the rule had never been enforced much. Vaggie had only heard it once when she was recruited but since then she hasn't heard anyone talk about it.
No one knew that the princess had been staying there- she was supposed to be lock up safely in the Morningstar castle to avoid possible confusion that could get her hurt. Heaven didn't have pictures of her to show the exorcist as it wasn't considered important.
Vaggie ran because it felt like her life depended on it. Because in her mind, it did.

Chapter Text
Charlie ran after Vaggie, fear gripping her heart strings for her. The girl was in no condition for this sorta exorcise at this point into her recovery. It could only be adrenaline that was keeping her going.
It broke her heart to see her friend so scared. They just needed to sit down and talk about it! Charlie was sure she could clear the air and explain why she had been hesitant to tell the girl she thought was so beautiful that she was The Princess!
Vaggie was surprisingly fast. Charlie was huffing to keep up with her.
As panic and fear for Vaggie spilled from Charlie, her horns sprouted, and her eyes turned a blood red. She tried to keep them down knowing that they would only cause more panic.
Vaggie ran into the streets, dodging sinners and even cars. Charlie had to halt to avoid being hit and apologize to everyone she bumped into. Her kindness would be her downfall.
When she looked up, she couldn't spot Vaggie anywhere.
Vaggie turned into a random alley once she was sure she was out of sight. Her breathing was quick and heavy due to running, but also in fear. Her brain ran miles a minute.
The angel slumped down again the wall and clutched her head and brought her knees to her chest.
She'd been played. She's been naive. Been fucking stupid.
How could she allow herself to get comfortable with a demon? How had she not seen it sooner?
10 minutes past. Maybe it was 20. Maybe it was an hour. It could have been a day, but Vaggie wouldn't know how long she sat there. She didn't know when the tears started, or when she laid over and curled into herself, or when the crying stopped.
Eventually Vaggie looked up. It felt weird to be in an alley. There were obvious reasons for that, yes. But there were more personal reasons for her.
She had lost her halo in a similar alley like this. She lost her wings and eye. She spared a child. And she met Charlie. It was a lot like this, but instead of emotionally hurting, she was physically hurt. If only Vaggie could have fought harder against the Princess to avoid being taken to her layer.
But she wasn't hurt, not more anyways. Charlie never hurt her. It was all some ploy though was it not? But what could the princes possibly want from her? Vaggie didn't have a halo or even her wings for the demon to take as trophy. Maybe her blood? But her father Lucifer has angelic blood.
Charlie didn't want to hurt anyone. Charlie didn't want to hurt her. She used her money to help others. To help her.
Did Charlie even have demonic traits other than her hooves? Not any that the angel has seen.
Vaggie sat there for a while longer until her breathing fully evened out. What would she do now? Was it safe to crawl back to Charlie? Was it any safer to do literally anything else?
The angel pulled herself up despite her back cramping.
She will go for a walk, clear her head, and make up her mind.
As she walked out of the alley and on to the bustling streets, she took hell in for the second time that day. But this time alone.
The angel walked down the sidewalk, watching her step to avoid walking in unknown substances or on dead bodies.
While stepping over a particular splotch, she missed judged her next steps and bumped into a sinner. It was a large, red, bull, with large black horns sprouting from his head, and a scaly tail from his back that snapped like a whip. He turned with an angry huff from his large snout. Vaggie quickly apologized but he wasn't having it.
He puffed up his chest and glared down at her, walking intimidatingly towards her, the bull backed her into the wall. Without her spear, Vaggie had nothing to defend herself with. This must be how sinners felt on extermination day...
Suddenly there was a blinding spark of colorful lights along with a booming smack as the bull sinner was punched in the chest and sent recalling backwards.
Vaggie stared in shock as Charlie stood snarling at the now frightened sinner. It was Charlie, wasn't it? Even with the wild, flying hair. The tall red horns sticking out of her head, and the angrily wiping tail that appeared to have a spade for the tip, not that you could really tell as it wouldn't stay still.
From this angle, Vaggie could only barely see the blazing red eyes that stared down at the bull.
"Leave." The demon growled lowly. The threatened bull pushed himself onto his hooves, huffed at her and walked away rather quickly.
Turing to the angel, Charlie's expression morphed from angry to concerned, but her demonic features stayed.
It was a surprise for Vaggie, that Charlie had these traits, but she wasn't sure how to feel. Appalled? Frightened? Murderous? Relieved because it saved her? Scared it'll be used against her? Attracted?
Wait what was that last one?
"Vaggie are you alright?" Charlie kneeled down next to the angel. Vaggie look up at her crimson eyes nervously. Charlie frowned. "I- I'm not going to hurt you. I'd never hurt you! I don't even like using my powers- it makes me feel as though I act like I'm more important! And I just want to be apart of my people. Omg I'm so sorry I never told you who I was. I just was so scared that I'd scare you. And I did! I feel so horrible. I'm so so so so so so so so so so sorryyyyyyyyy." Charlie spoke with tears in her devilish eyes and her tail wilted on the ground.
It actually broke Vaggie's heart seeing the cheerful blonde do devastated. It didn't suit her.
Vaggie reached a hand up to cup Charlie's cheek and wipe a tear that slipped out. The blonde looked at her sadly. Vaggie glanced up from her face to her horns. Charlie's eyes widened and she slowly lowered her head, and invitation. Vaggie pulled her hand back nervously, unsure if she really should.
"It's ok... you can touch them." Charlie reassured. Hesitantly, Vaggie raised her hand again, but this time to a red horn on top of the demon's head. The princess's tail raised and flopped back down to the ground. Vaggie looked at her quietly asking if she was ok. Charlie nodded.
The angel slightly rubbed the horn, feeling its bumpier texture at the bottom and as it smoothed further up until its point. Charlie smiled softly up at her. "See? They aren't scary. I'm not scary. It's just me. Silly musical loving Charlie." Vaggie's eye watered. Fuck she had been so scared, but this was Charlie. She can't be afraid of Charlie.
Vaggie flung herself onto the demon and cried softly into her shoulder. She felt the demon's tail quickly wrap around her along with a pair of arms. One hand rubbed her back while the other fisted in her hair. Charlie buried her head in her should, crying softly with her.
"I- I was so scared for you Vaggie! You ran off- your back- fuck what if that sinner hurt you?" Charlie sobbed. Vaggie pulled back slightly to look at her, tears still streaming from her eye. "I'm sorry... I know you wouldn't hurt me I just... it- you- I panicked and didn't know what to do." Charlie suddenly pulled her back in with a squeeze.
"Please, I promise I'll never hurt you! I love you; you're my best friend! I'll do whatever it takes to earn back your trust. I won't keep any more secrets I'm an open book!" Charlie sobbed into her.
Open book. No secrets. Vaggie doubted she'd still feel this way if she knew about her secret.
"I know Charlie. You wouldn't hurt me. Let's go home. I'm fucking exhausted." She let out a weak chuckle. Charlie soon laughed softly as well.
"Y-yeah, let's go."

Chapter Text
It has been two weeks since the Princesses of Hell fiasco occurred. Charlie had been very adamant the whole time about proving herself and trustworthy in attempt to gain Vaggie's trust back. Vaggie had long gotten over the fact, kinda, of Charlie being such a powerful demon.
She had taken her in and given her everything after losing it all. The least she could do was forgive her host for a small secret.
At least it was small compared to hers.
The angel was fairly certain the Princess hadn't actually known of her angelicness, she made her relax but also disappointed her. She couldn't help but feel that she'd feel much more at easy if the secret was out there. But would Charlie be so nice then? Charlie had mentioned on several accounts about her distaste in exorcist, and even other angels despite her glamorous view of Heaven.
During her time of trying to prove herself to be good, she realized she needed to clear her dad's name after figuring about Vaggie was frightened by him. For such tale, Charlie told her dad's side of the story of his fall.
It hadn't been one Vaggie heard before, and it did make her feel a little different. What else had heaven lied about? Everything?
She thought about the stories they had told about Charlie, the ones where she was a vicious monster. But she was a beautiful angel to Vaggie.
Charlie brought her cup of tea and sat in on the coffee table while the two of them sat on the couch. Tonight, they were having a movie night. Again. Hopefully it wouldn't be disrupted like their last one had been. They were watching a musical per the princess's request. Not that Vaggie would complain.
She felt safe for the first time in a long time. Which is weird because who thought you'd be happier in hell than heaven? Especially when you were once an angel. The freedom is nice others, but there's death and violence everywhere.
But Vaggie was happy right here with Charlie. And she couldn't imagine herself anywhere else. And if Charlie wanted to watch another cheesy romance, then Vaggie would watch it. Because she trusted Charlie.
They sat together in the couch. It was nice and comfortable. That's when Vaggie slowly started inching towards the blonde, similar to how Charlie had done to her two weeks ago. Vaggie could see the grin on the demon's face before being suddenly swooped into her arms.
In a matter of seconds Vaggie was pulled against the blonde partially in her lap. The angel felt her face burn up. The closeness was enthralling, enticing. She wanted more. Burying herself further into the princess, Charlie giggled, a blush on her face as well.
Vaggie couldn't help but wonder if this is what it was like to be loved. Is that what this is? Love?
The thought of it made her tense. Did she like Charlie like that? Had she really fallen for a demon? Is that even possible? But if that was true, was it possible Charlie liked her back? The blonde definitely blushed around her a lot, but Vaggie knew how hot she ran. She could feel it cuddled up next to her right now.
They were just friends; she should be happy with that. Not seek more. But do friends cuddle like this? And go out to eat? It was almost like a date the last time they went out now that she thought about it.
But she can't like Charlie! This was the princess of hell! Even if she did trust her, even with her life, they were still enemies by blood! What would Heaven think of her!?
Fuck heaven!
Charlie noticed the fallen angels distressed. Carefully, Vaggie was dislodged from their connection to have their eyes meet. "Vags? You alright?"
An angel can't fall in love with a demon. It would crush her if she knew my origins. But... her looking at me like this, makes me feel warm and fuzzy. But that could mean anything! I- I- I can't-
"Vaggie?" The blonde said worriedly. A soft porcelain hand came to her chin and ever so gently tilted it back up to look her in the eyes. Vaggie felt her breath hitch. Charlie sure is beautiful. But that's a given. She's the daughter of temptation himself. Everyone found her attractive. That didn't mean Vaggie was attracted to her any deeper. A girl.
"How many partners have you had?" Vaggie asked suddenly. Charlie blinked in surprise and pulled back slightly. "What?" Vaggie froze. Who asks that kind of fucking question to the person you're cuddling? Fucking dumbass! Excuse! Excuse!
"Just wondering. Wanted to get to know you a little better." She forced out. Charlie hummed in acknowledgment, but there was a trait in the blonde's eyes that suggested that she didn't fully believe her reasoning. Why look downcast and ask a friend their body count? That easily implies you like them.
"Well," Charlie started. "I had a few partners when I was younger. Never really lasted long. But I only had one long term boyfriend." Vaggie clutched nervously at her own sleeve. She hadn't considered whether or not Charlie was gay or straight. "He was kinda a jerk- not trying to be mean or anything though. We were always off and on. I finally dumped him for good though after I found out her had an affair while he was with me..." she looked down. Vaggie frowned and hesitantly reached to hold her hand.
"He sounds like a loser. Anyone who passes up you is a real douche bag." Charlie chuckled lightly at that. "Eh maybe you're right. But most say I'm too much to handle." Vaggie's frowned deepened, but she put on a sad smile and playfully nudged Charlie with her body and joking, "I bet I could handle you." This shocked Charlie out of her state and her head whipped to the angel. Her pearl white skin sweeping over with a visible red. Vaggie immediately tensed again and put her hands up in defense. "Kidding! Kidding! But seriously... don't let it get to you. You'll find the right someone." She said softly.
Charlie stared at her for a few moments. There was a strange look in her eyes, an emotion Vaggie couldn't quite distinguish. "Have you ever had a special someone?" The blonde eventually asked. Vaggie hesitated. It was only fair that she responded. "I- I could lie and say I've had plenty but... not a one. Not any serious at least." Charlie's eyes shot wide open. "What!?" She shouted, making Vaggie jump. "But- you're so pretty and beautiful, and kind and sweet! How have you never had a relationship!?" Vaggie stared at her in shock and awe.
But her expression slowly fell. How was she supposed to explain? She never had the option to date in heaven. "I just... never really had the chance." She admitted. Charlie frowned. To her, that could mean so many things. "Have you ever had a crush?" Did she? She never gave it much thought. Her only real experience with guys is Adam, and he definitely wasn't her type. Plus, she was just now relaxing she's attracted to woman. How did she never realize before when she was always surrounded by them! It's not like her occasionally glancing and gazing upon her fellow exorcist meant anything! Did it?
"I guess I might have. I don't really know." Charlie hummed. "Maybe we should go out." Vaggie blinked and turned back to Charlie with a blush. "Wha-" "I mean like to find people!" Charlie quickly said panicking and waving her hands in front of her. For some odd reason, Vaggie felt vaguely disappointed. “Oh… well- why not? Let do it!” She smiled. Charlie relaxed but her grin seemed strained. “How about tomorrow? We can head to this club I know and get drinks. The owner is a nice guy. For the most part.”
Vaggie thought about it for a moment. Was it really safe? A bunch of drunk demons all in the same room? She’d have Charlie, Charlie would keep her safe. And maybe she’ll find someone to get her mind off the princess…
“Sounds good to me.”
Notes:
It took me a little longer to start writing this again that I had hoped. I had to reread the story to remember what had happened. But now I hope to be able to finish it off and work on one of my other stories
(I have way more than I should.)Btw I went back and fixed a bunch of grammar mistakes and what not from previous chapters.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this.
Chapter 11: Bar night
Summary:
Charlie and Vaggie go to a club
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
The club wasn't what Vaggie had expected. It was rather well kept and calm. No fights nor immediately getting jumped. Of course, there were the creeps that eyed the two women like candy, but that was hell. You couldn't ever escape that.
Charlie led her to a booth near the back. It was a bit farther from the chaos which the blonde assumed Vaggie would prefer, and she was right. Sitting down on opposite sides, they pulled out a drink menu from the tray. "What sounds good right now?" Charlie asked. She seemed relatively calm despite the loud music and demons on the dance floor practically humping each other. Vaggie looked at the drinks and paused. She never drank before. There wasn't alcohol in heaven. "Why don't you pick something out for the both of us? Surprise me." She challenged. Maybe though, she should think against drinking. Would her body be able to handle it?
Charlie smirked. "Alrighty then let's see~" she started to scan the menu for possible options. While she was distracted, Vaggie took a moment to look her over. Both of them had dressed up for the evening. You obviously have a better chance attracting guys if you're pretty and cleaned up nice. Though that formed a bit of a pit in Vaggie's stomach. Both at the prospect of herself being with a guy, and the idea of Charlie with a guy. Vaggie took in the blonde's attire. Instead of her usual red, Charlie wore a dark, grape purple. It made her pale skin stand out more in the lighting and her red dotted cheeks pop.
And her black lipstick-
"I'm going to go order!" Charlie spoke cheerfully while getting up from her seat and knocking Vaggie's train of thought off its rails. "I'll be waiting princess." She said idly. Charlie blushed slightly at the title. While she personally wasn't a fan of being higher than others and preferred casual formalities, Vaggie saying it like that...
She quickly went to the bar to get her choice of drinks.
Vaggie watched her disappear into the crowd. What had been getting into her lately?
You think she's beautiful for one moment and now you can stop thinking about her? Disgusting. You're no better than every perverted demon down here. She could hear Lute's voice in her head screaming about how blasphemous it would be for her to even see Charlie as anything other than her friend. Charlie is an ally in hell to lean on and trust. Not to spend the rest of her life with. She needed to find someone else to take interest it.
The fallen angel began to peer around the club. Maybe she could pin the blame on her training and origin as to why she struggled to find any of these demons attractive. Maybe it was because she knew they had done terrible things. She groaned and put her head down on the table. There is no hope.
When she thought things couldn't get any worse, she heard the clacking of heels approaching her booth. She looked up to see a woman- not Charlie- a cat sinner that stood tall over Vaggie, peering down at her with a grin. "I don't think I've seen ya around before cutie." They purred and leaned over the table. "Uhh..." Vaggie looked at the sinner in shock. This was definitely a direct approach.
"What? Cat got your tongue~?" Their tail swayed behind them as they leaned toward their prey. And as attractive Vaggie may or may not have found this, she couldn't find it in herself to flirt back. She preferred a more friendly approach, at least that is what she decided. Not like she has experience. It’s not like she had ever trusted herself with a relationship.
"Look, I'm flattered, but I'm not interested." The sinner's ears perked and eyes widened. Her claws twirled idly on the table as if she hadn't just been rejected. "But a darling like you shouldn't be out here alone~" She pouted with a playful smirk.
"She's not." A voice came from behind her, making the feline sinner's fur bristle as she turned around in surprise. Vaggie looked with her wide eye up at Charlie, doing her best to keep a friendly smile, but Vaggie could see the subtle twitch in her eye. "Oh, princess. Its.... A pleasure to meet you." There was distant distaste in her words that both Charlie and Vaggie could hear, but Vaggie seemed to be the only one offended at them. Charlie kept smiling while Vaggie's glared.
"You don't need to call me that. I go by Charlie." The blonde held out a hand. "Hmm." The sinner begrudgingly shook her hand. Once they let go, she swiftly turned to Vaggie. "Well, I'll see you around sweetheart." Before turning on her heels and walking off with a sway in the hips.
After a few moments Charlie turned back to Vaggie. "Sorry... did I ruin your moment with her? I don't know why I did that- but you looked a little uncomfortable and-" Vaggie stood up and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Charlie, please, I'm glad you did. I don't think she was my type." Charlie blinked before speaking suddenly. "Question, are you into girls?" Vaggie's face immediately flamed at the inquiry. "What!?" Charlie realized maybe she said the wrong thing. "Well, I just- the girl was flirting with you, was she not? And usually, gays can sense other gays and-" Vaggie wasn't listening, too embarrassed to even look at her highness.
Was it so easy to be gay here? Sinners didn't seem to give it a second thought. But it was blasphemy, a sin.
This is hell.
Should she stop worrying about heaven and its rules?
Vaggie looked back up at Charlie and spoke softly, "Yes..." It cut Charlie out of her ramblings and look down at her. Her brain seemed to short circuit before she realized what Vaggie was saying yes to. A soft smile came onto her face and a certain look in her eyes. "That's great!" Vaggie raised an eyebrow. "I mean- girls are so pretty! A lot of men still act like boys." Vaggie tilted her head slightly and leaned her elbows on the table. "So, what about you? Princess of sin. Any gay thoughts in your brain?" Vaggie caught the light blush that dusked the pale cheeks. "Well... I am bisexual heh. Kinda ironic being in Pride huh?" Vaggie laughed lightly at that.
For some reason, it gave her stomach butterflies as well. "Good to know." She spoke mysteriously before turning to the drinks Charlie had brought. "So, let's drink!" Charlie jumped to set the drinks down on their table and slide into her seat. Vaggie chuckled and sat down as well, looking at the glass set in front of her. Thank God it was a well-known drink. She feared Charlie would get something she never hear of. Sitting before her was a Bloody Mary. But she didn't know what it tasted like. Or if this particular blend had a lot of vodka in it.
"If you don't like it, you can have some of my margarita! I don't mind." The blonde knew it was a gamble buying a drink for someone she had never seen drink. So, she was willing to share her own. Not that she would mind either way. A Bloody Mary just seemed right for Vaggie.
Vaggie didn't responded. Instead, she leant down and took a sip of her drink while brushing her hair out of the way. In her time of being here, how long had it been? A month? Two months? Didn't matter. Her hair had grown considerably. It now reached her shoulders.
The drink had a kick to it along with its distant salty taste with its tomato sauce. She pulled back to cough as it burned down her throat. Charlie looked at her in concern and leaned over to pat her back. Vaggie waved her hand to say that she was fine while she tried to clear her throat. "Are you ok? Is it too spicy?" It wasn't that it was too hot, it was that she wasn't built for alcohol. "Went- ugh- down the wrong t-tube." She pumped her chest one last time before shaking her head. "Sorry about that..." she said awkwardly.
Charlie shook her head vigorously. "Don't apologize for that. Are you sure you're alright?" Vaggie nodded. "Like I said, swallowed wrong." Charlie gave her a small, suspicious glance. "Is it too strong?" Vaggie hesitated before shaking her head. Charlie hummed. She still looked suspicious. "Alright then. Just be more careful." Charlie had the sneaking suspicion Vaggie wasn't a drinker. She had specifically requested the drink be made with a smaller dose. She didn't want them getting wasted tonight. Especially if they were looking for partners in hells bars.
And judging by Vaggie's reaction, she didn't really think it was swallowing wrong. More like struggling with the burn for the first time. But she wasn't going to push it.
"Does is taste good?" She questioned. Vaggie took a moment to take another sip, smaller than the last. She took the time to take in the taste. "Yea it's pretty good!" She did rather enjoy the taste of tomato. Charlie grinned, happy that she made a decent choice of drink for her. "That's good. So, let's get down to business." Vaggie raised an eyebrow at that. Charlie rolled her eyes playfully before tilting her head towards the crowd of demons.
"What's your type?" Oh yea. That's why they came here. To get boyfriends- or well girlfriends. Vaggie gazed the crowd. She glanced momentarily at the feline sinners that had approached her but quickly discarded her in her mind as she remembered how she reacted to Charlie.
There were a few attractive girls partying around, but Vaggie just couldn't see any of them being good partners. Just months ago, she would have killed any of these people without a second thought.
Charlie took notice of the growing frown on her friend. "Something wrong?" She asked. Vaggie looked over at her. "I just... can't seem to find interest in anyone." Charlie frowned. "Well... you like girls, right? How about we go one by one." Charlie gazed back to the crowed and spotted a girl sitting at the bar chatting to the bar tender. Pointing over to her, she spoke. "How about the chick over there? Brown hair, twirled horns, spiked tail." Vaggie looked over at the sinner quizzically. "She looks like a narcissist." Vaggie deadpanned. "What? But you've never talked to her!" Charlie said in disbelief. "I'm good a reading people." Vaggie shrugged. Charlie sighed dramatically before turning back for another victim.
They did this for a while, Charlie choosing girls and Vaggie providing a reason to avoid them. "Come onnnnn you can't just pass on everyone!" Charlie pouted. Vaggie sighed. It's not like she wanted to... she just... "I don't want to go out with someone I don't trust. And I can't trust sinners." Charlie seemed to pause and think for a moment. "What about hellborn?" Vaggie thought about it for a moment before shaking her head. "Creatures born of sin. Can't trust them."
She felt Charlie tense beside her. Vaggie turned and looked up at the blonde. Charlie wasn't looking back at her, but rather off to the side, some emotion aligning with upset in her eyes. That's when she realized her mistake. "Charlie..." the blonde glanced back at her. "Do you trust me Vaggie? Truly." Vaggie felt her heart clench. Charlie almost doesn't believe that she trusted her. "Charlie. I trust you with my whole life. What I said- I meant for like- like-...." She didn't have a valid excuse.
Charlie shook her head. "I get what you mean... it just... kinda hurts you won't give any of my people a chance." The angel felt her heart break.
It's you I want to have a chance with.
But she can't tell her that. She needs to find someone else anyway. Letting out a dejected sigh, she turned back to the crowd. "Who do you think looks... safest." Charlie tilted her head in confusion and looked at the people as well. "Maybe her?" She pointed to a girl taking a shot. She had large wolfish ears and big canines that show with her large grin. Without thinking, Vaggie began to walk away from their table with the intent of speaking to the demon.
She was surprised when a hand held her back. She looked down at the hand wrapped softly around her waist, and then up to the blonde looking down at her. "Vaggie..." "you wanted me to give them a chance." Charlie's shoulders slumped. "I did, but I don't want you to talk to someone because I wanted you to." Vaggie lowered her head. "But-" she was cut off. "No buts. You're clearly not enjoying this. Let's... let's go home." Vaggie couldn’t muster the strength to argue and meekly nodded.
Charlie slips a few bills under her glass. Her drink she only took a few sips of. Now she felt bad about that as well. But Charlie was the princess. Vaggie didn't need to worry about a couple small dollars wasted. But thinking that made her feel shittier.
They exited the building. Everything felt so much quieter.
"I had a decent time tonight." The blonde spoke up. Vaggie turned to her. "I'm sorry I kinda ruined it at the end." Charlie shook her head. "Don't even. I shouldn't have said what I did. You're new to hell. Of course, you're gonna be put off at the idea of dating someone down here. Let's just enjoy the rest of the night on the soft couch."
Vaggie smiled softly. "Ok."
They sat in the limo in silence for most of the ride before Vaggie spoke up. "I appreciate the help, really. I just... I don't think I can fall for some random stranger." Charlie nodded, agreeing with Vaggie's statement. "Oh, I get that, really. I like to get to know people before getting together." She blushed lightly and looked aways.
"I like what we have." Vaggie said quietly. Charlie turned to face her in surprise. "What's bringing this on?" Charlie was happy of course, but Vaggie wasn't alway the one to bring up such topics. "I don't know. Honestly, I just noticed how safe and comfortable I felt this evening. That's not something I had expected. I just... have really grown to trust you, y,know?" Charlie was so touched by this that she actually started to tear up. "Oh Vaggie." Then the damn broke. Vaggie was rather surprised when the blonde pulled her in for a hug and cried into her shoulder. She awkwardly patted her back.
Then she realized, she didn't need to be uncomfortable with this and slowly wrapped her blondes around the blonde to hug her back.
Notes:

Summary:
Dating app?
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
When the girls had gotten home last night, Charlie had suggested Vaggie use a dating app- to which the shorter girl quickly shot down. But once Charlie had left her alone in her room for the night, she hesitantly pulled out her phone. A gift from Charlie awhile back.
There were multiple different apps. Some even specifically for gay people. Vaggie held her thumb above one for several long moments. She really shouldn't be interested in woman... maybe she should try looking into guys first? It's not like she had been with one before. Maybe the reason she thought she had a tiny crush on Charlie wasn't really that at all, but rather just a strong feeling of gratitude.
Yea... no.
She grunted and downloaded the app. It couldn't hurt, could it? She was already kicked out of heaven. What's worse than hell?
She stared at blankly at her empty profile. What could she even write in her bio? It's not like she had many interests or a backstory she could share...
Gahhhhhh why is it so hard!?
She put her phone down for the night and decided to sleep on it. She could perhaps ask Charlie about it in the morning and deal with the blondes teasing.
—
Vaggie treaded carefully down the stairs, one hand on the railing just incases so she doesn’t fall if she suddenly gets back pain. She could smell the pancakes from up in her room and was dying to have some. She entered the kitchen to see Charlie singing cheerfully while flipping a pancake onto the ever-growing pile. Vaggie smile and leaned against the door frame. Yea... she definitely has feelings for her. But could Charlie like her back?
"Oh! Vaggie! Good morning!" The blonde greeted with a smile. "I didn't see you there!" She turned the stove off and pushed aside the dishes and took the two plates of pancakes to the table. "Yea, I just got down here." Vaggie said moving to sit down. Charlie rushed to set a plate and silverware in front of her along with a bottle a syrup. "How are you doing this fine morning?" The demon asked cheerfully. Vaggie cut into her food. "I'm doing good. Just... a little frustrated about the um, dating app." She admitted and quickly shoved a piece of pancake in her mouth.
"Oh! You downloaded it." Vaggie could have sworn that behind the enthusiasm the blonde portrayed, there was an underlining strain of disappointment. "Yea, I did. I don't really know what to do for my bio. I don't really do anything other than hang out with you." She sighed. Charlie hummed. "There's plenty of things you could put! You like pancakes, cozy things, working out, walks when your back pains are too bad, shopping even though you pretend you don't. For some reason you're drawn to lights- maybe you're a moth sinner?" Vaggie just stared at Charlie as she listed several small things she had learned about her in these few months. "Uh thanks... I'll take those into consideration. You sure seem to pay attention." Charlie blushed lightly and looked away. "Of course. I care about you, so I want to know about you."
Vaggie blushed softly. "I care about you too." She smiled shyly and looked down to her plate and continued eating. They sat in a comfortable silence for the rest of their breakfast. That silence ended when they were done.
"I can do the dishes." Vaggie insisted and tried gently bump Charlie away from the sink. The blonde quickly shook her head. "No no no. You're my guest! I can’t have you do that!" She said in exasperation. "Well..." Vaggie trailed softly. "I'm practically living here. I've called this place my home." She rubbed the back of her neck. "So... am I really a guest?" She didn't want to impose but she was pretty sure Charlie wanted her to be here.
Charlie's eye widened in awe. "You mean, you really want to stay? With me?" Vaggie nodded. The blonde squealed and pulled she into a hug. "I knew it! I knew I would grow on you!" She exclaimed. Vaggie just barked out a laugh. "Yes, yes you're very enjoyable. Now let me be a good roommate and clean the dishes." Charlie then held her at an arms length and shook her head. "No! I still want to do the work. You're still crippled!"
"Barely."
"Still!"
Vaggie sighed. "How about we do it together?" She suggested. Charlie stared blankly at her. "There's two plates and a pan." She deadpanned. "I can still help." Vaggie insisted. Charlie shook her head and leaned on her. "Vagggiieeeeeee." "Charlieeeeeeee." She mimicked. The blonde pouted. "Fine. I'll be here the whole time incase you need help." Charlie backed away from the sink. Vaggie raised an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting I can’t wash dishes by myself?" Charlie's eyes widened and she waved her hands in front of herself. "What!? No! I just-" Vaggie laughed and shook her head. "Charlie I'm joking."
Charlie seemed to ease up after that. "Whatever."
So Vaggie got to clean the dishes. It felt odd doing so with Charlie watching her from the table, but at least she was helping out. Afterwords, the two of them made it to the living room.
"Let me see what you've got down so far." Charlie held out her hand for Vaggie's phone. Once the device was in hand, Charlie tried to swipe in. "You have a passcode?" She asked. Vaggie's nodded. "Uh yea? We're in hell. Why wouldn't I?" Charlie decided not to comment and just held the phone for Vaggie's to enter her password. "It's AppleBlonde by the way." Charlie tilted her head. "For any particular reason?" Vaggie shrugged Charlie didn't push it.
"Sooooo, Vaggie, age 24, height 5'4 that's it?" Vaggie nodded. "I didn't know what to write." Charlie grunted. "I gave you a bunch of ideas earlier!" Vaggie rolled her eye. "I haven't exactly had time to enter them, have I. Why don't you write them for me?" That was all she had to do before the blonde was typing a mile a minute. Vaggie mentally prepared herself to have to make the details less specific later.
"How do you just trust a random sinner on here to meet up with?" Vaggie asked skeptically about the whole ordeal. Charlie shrugged. "You need to judge their character. Call them a few times first maybe. I’ve personally never done this." Vaggie stared into her soul. "Then why should I be doing it?" Charlie chuckled awkwardly. "Welllllll, you don't get out much, and when you do, you're tagging with me. Which can ward off potential partners." Vaggie grunted and took her phone back. "Why would someone need to know my toenail cutting routine?"
———
They had spent an hour arguing about what was safe and not safe to put in. Eventually they were both satisfied with the finished product. But Vaggie hesitated over the button that would have her account open. Charlie looked at her softly. "You don't have to do it." She reminded. Vaggie sighed. "I just- I don't... what if no one is my type?" She questioned. Charlie grinned slightly at that. "You're able to select preferences. Here give it to me." Vaggie tossed her phone back. The blonde went into a new section that opened up selections. "Do you have a hair color preference?"
Vaggie paused and hesitated before trying to nonchalantly say, "Blondes." The brief pause in Charlie's body almost went unnoticed, but Vaggie's was watching. "Alright. How about uhh form?" Vaggie tilted her head in confusion. "Ok how to I explain this." Charlie pondered. "When we were at the club, did you notice how all the sinners looked different? Those are their forms. What people look like here in hell." Vaggie nodded in understanding but didn't really think she'd have a type. She gazed over Charlie. "I guess people that have a closer look to being actually human?" She really wasn't human, but she was built to look like one. She guessed Charlie was too.
Charlie hummed and typed it in. "Eye color?" They looked at each other. The angel looked into the demon's eyes. "Like a pale yellow maybe with red irises. Those are pretty cool." The blonde blinked at her as she said that. Vaggie tense slightly and continued to act like she didn't just describe the other girl's eyes. She wasn't supposed to fall for the princess, it wouldn't be right. But she didn't think Charlie would hate her. She trusted her. And if she figured it out on her own, then Vaggie would trust her with knowing about her feelings.
Charlie turned wordlessly to put it into the profile. "So uh, what about style choice? Like- feminine, masculine." Vaggie shrugged. "A little of both but probably..." she looked at the suit Charlie was wearing. "Masculine. Likely because I like being a bit more feminine." She caught the light blush on the demon face as she had checked her out. "Right..." the blonde wrote on the profile. "Well, I think that should be it." She handed the phone back to its owner. "Oh thanks." She took it and observed her now launched profile. "So I just..." she found her way to other profiles.
"Read their profiles, look at their pictures. If you think you'd make a good match, swipe right. If you don't, swipe left. If you swipe right on someone and they swipe right back on you, you can message them. Have funnn~" and with that Charlie twirled out of the room, leaving Vaggie alone with her phone.
The silver haired woman stared down at it. The first girl looks well uhhh not her type. Left.
She ended up doing that for a while. That was until she got a notification. A very strange notification. Someone had swiped right on her. Her curiosity peak so she clicked on it. She completely froze at first glance of the profile.

Princess of hell

—
Charlie had a dating account? No- this says it was made today... what? And she...
Charlie swiped right on her. Charlie specifically made an account to find and match with her.
Does that mean...
She flung off the couch, almost face plating on the floor, and ran to the stairs, darting up them.
She slowed as she landed on Charlie's level. She didn't hear anything, so she slowly approached her room. Lucky her the door was cracked open. Vaggie peeped her eye and peered in. Inside she could she Charlie perched on her bed, head in her knees and tail curled around her hooves. She looked stressed. Then she realized that Charlie was staring at Vaggie's profile, waiting for a match. That's when Vaggie realized she hadn't swiped on Charlie yet.
Hesitantly she pulled at her phone and looked at Charlie’s profile. Should she really do it? Take that step over the line? When had she ever truly done something like this for herself.
After a brief moment of consideration, she swiped right. She heard the ping from Charlie's room, then the shuffle of sheet. She looked back and saw Charlie's shocked expression rise into a smile before the demon sprung off the bed and began to stomp her hooves repeatedly whisper yelling, "yes yes yes yes!!!" Vaggie smiled softly. Charlie did like her back.
Then the demon paused, making Vaggie freeze. "Wait- what if she thought I was just being funny and was trying to be funny back?" Vaggie watched as Charlie began to pace and talk to herself. "How do I tell her than that I like her?" Ok that was enough of that.
Vaggie knocked on the door.
Notes:
So so so sorry this took multiple weeks to come out. Life’s actually been really busy and I just haven’t been able to find it in myself to work on this. So sorry if you don’t like it 😅
After a week or two life should be become easier again. I’ll have less going on unless this one thing happens for me x than I’m busy again.

Chapter Text
Charlie froze at the knocking on her bedroom door. The only person that would be here is Vaggie. This was happening so fast! What should she say to her? What should she do? Is Vaggie coming to ask her why she was being weird matching with her on a dating site? Was her swipe a mistake?
The blonde took a deep breath and forced her tail that apparently came out, back in. Then she walked to the door and noticed it had cracked open. She grabbed the handle and pulled in open more with a shy smile. On the other side stood the woman of her dreams with a similar expression. "Hey." Vaggie said quietly. Charlie smiled a little wider. "Hey."
They stared into each other's eyes for several long moments before Vaggie cleared her throat. "May I come in?" She asked politely. Charlie's eyes widened. "Oh- yes yes! Of course! You're always welcome." She stepped to the side to let the girl through. Vaggie blushed softly and walked in.
There wasn't necessarily a need to be secluded into a room when they were the only ones that lived here. They already had all the privacy they needed, but there was just something more soothing and intimate about being in the blonde's place of rest. And it felt like a better place to speak about this.
"Sooooo..." the blonde dragged out and moved to sit on her bed. Vaggie felt awkward standing, so she followed and sat next to her. Charlie couldn't help the flutter in her chest at Vaggie sitting on her bed. "So..." She started again before being cut off as Vaggie's gripped her by the collar of her shirt and pulled her down, but pausing right before kissing her, seeming to hesitate. "Do you... did- the dating app..." Their lips were so close. Their breaths dusted the other's face. Charlie blinked slowly. "Do you have feelings for me Vaggie?" She asked quietly as if making sure the angel was the only one that could hear her in the empty building.
There was a pause before the shorter woman pulled the other down into a kiss. It was awkward at first, it being Vaggie's first kiss and all, but once Charlie regained herself and took control, Vaggie found a good pace and movement. They pull back. Vaggie's eye flickered slowly as she looked up at the blonde who slowly opened her eyes to gawk down at her. "Does... that give a clear answer?" Vaggie asked with a tentative smile. She was quickly pulled into a second kiss, this one a lot more confident.
Vaggie's hand lifted to the blonde's cheek and gently brushed a strand of hair away by feel. Charlie's eyes flickered open briefly at the feeling and gently pulled away. "Wow...." She said dazed. "Wow." Vaggie responded. "We just kissed." The angel spoke softly. Charlie nodded, her cheeks dusted pink. Then she shyly rubbed the back of her neck. "I hope that's ok?" She asked nervously. Vaggie's neck snapped up to her. "I kissed you first! I should be the one asking if it was ok!" She said exasperated. Charlie put her hands up in defense. "Well then I kissed you the second time!" Vaggie groaned and let her head fall onto the blonde's shoulder.
It took Charlie a moment, but she giggled softly and wrapped her arms around the shorted woman. Even her tail wrapped around Vaggie. "So... I guess... you like me? And I like you?" The blonde said quietly. Vaggie looked up at her hopefully and nodded. The blonde tried hard, she really did, to suppress her delighted grin. "Can I take you on a date?" It was said with confidence but there was an underling tone of hope and nervousness. Vaggie pulled, which almost made Charlie panic in thinking she said the wrong thing, but Vaggie only pulled back enough to pull Charlie in for a third kiss.
The demon's eyes fluttered shut and she held the other's sides. When they pulled away Vaggie looked up at her as if about to say yes, but then she paused and her eye drifted away. Charlie felt her veins run ice cold and her heart drop. She tried to see if something had just happened to catch Vaggie's attention, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. "Vaggie?" She asked tentatively and tilted her head slightly in confusion and concern.
The fallen angel hesitantly pulled her hands away from the demon and rested them on her own legs. She stared down at them. "Charlie..." Immediately from her tone Charlie could tell something was wrong. Was it her? Was Vaggie not comfortable with the idea of dating? Did she only say she liked her because she was afraid of being kicked out? "W-we don't have to you know! Go on a date. I was just- I thought- uhm..." She blabbered frantically.
Vaggie shook her head. "Charlie, I can't- I mean... I want to! I really do. It's just... you..." Charlie frowned, eyes showing nothing but hurt. Vaggie realized this and panicked at her poor wording. "Like not you- you! I mean! Fuckkkkk." Her head dropped into her hands. Why was this so hard. She looked back up and took a deep breath. "Charlie. You are the princess of hell. You have only ever given to me. How... how is this right?" Charlie's expression softened.
"Vaggie, don't let my status get in the way. Plus, you know, I'm not that well respected anyways." She laughed softly at her own decrepit joke. Vaggie shook your head. "But it would be worse with me in the way! And I don't... I don't... want to lose you..." she muttered quietly. Charlie's eyes widened. "Vaggie... you won't lose me." The fallen angel shook her head. "How do you know? How do you I know I won't mess up!" Vaggie pleaded desperately. Totally not traumatized by messing up being an exorcist.
Charlie silently took her hand and held in gently. "We all have our flaws and mistakes. That doesn't mean we have to hate one another for it. Hear me out, do you like me?" It Vaggie a few moments before she nodded. "But it's wrong. You don't... you don't know everything about me. What if you don't like what I hide?" Charlie just smiled gently. "There isn't a thing in this world that could possibly make me feel different about you." Vaggie's eye began to water. "You're too nice for me." Charlie chuckled. "I can't be less nice?" She smirked but it was awkward and only received a laugh, but a laugh was a laugh, and she'll take it.
"We can work it out. Any problem that comes up. We'll take it on together. If you want to?" Charlie asked hopefully. Vaggie does, she really does. “I do, Charlie. But… can we take it slow?” Charlie’s expression managed to soften more than it already was. “Of course. Whatever you need.”
Vaggie couldn’t help but think about how that was exactly what she meant when she said Charlie gives and gives to her. The blonde is always willing to work around to make sure Vaggie is happy. Sure, Vaggie does her best to do that for her, but was it enough?
But Vaggie didn’t seem worried. And Vaggie does really like her. Sooo
“So, it’s a date?” Vaggie asked with a smile. Charlie grinned brightly. “Yes. Oh Vaggie! This is going to be so fun! Dressing up, choosing a place to eat, romantic evening!” Her tail waged enthusiastically. Vaggie chuckled at the sight and lean her head on the blonde's shoulder.
“I can’t wait.”
Notes:
So so sorry for the long wait. I’ve been super duper busy these was few weeks. Had almost no time to myself and when I did I was simply too tired to write more than a few lines.
I’m sorry this chapter isn’t as long as I like to usually make them but I still think it came out alright.
I’m still busy this month so the next chapter probably won’t come out till June. BUT I would just like to remind you and say I have NOT given up on this. I do plan to finish it. Probably this summer.
I hope their little confession is enough to tide you over for a while.
Thank you for being patient.
Chapter 14: Date night? Date night!!!

Yooo sorry for such a long wait 😭 especially for like 2000 words. My bad. Hopefully Chaggie makes it better because they always do ❤️

Chapter Text
The two girls had been giddy ever since their confessions. Charlie was eager to get the ball rolling for their first date. She had the perfect reservation placed in one of her old favorites from childhood. There was another restaurant she wanted to take Vaggie to, but that was down in lust. Disregarding the fact that it might have implied ill intentions on Charlie's part, she wouldn't have been able to bring her darling there anyhow. Vaggie is a sinner and sadly sinners can't travel through rings. Maybe Charlie could talk to her father and see if he could make a spell of some sort that would let Vaggie pass? Next time.
As of now, the demon needed to pick out a dress. One that says, I'm really into you and I'm trying my best, but not too hard that she comes off to eager. She also wants it to make her attractive to the shorter girls gaze, but not insanely revealing. She didn't need to be giving inappropriate implications. At least not this early into their relationship. Seducing can wait till later.
Why was it so hard to find a dress that gave the right message? She already tried on five dresses that were now sprawled on her bed. At this point she might just need to buy a new one for this very important evening. There is no way she will let this fail. Vaggie is too important to her. Charlie wants so bad for this to work out. So if that means spending less than a dent in her large fortune? Than so be it. Not like it's being used for much anywho.
She still had- half an hour!? She still needed to do her make up, her hair- everything!!!
Hopefully Vaggie is having a better time.
———
Vaggie stared into her closet. Her options were... limited to say the least. She never had any reason to dress formally since falling, so the fancy clothes she had were few and in between. There are a few things she has for herself to walk around in because yes, she does like looking good for herself, but everything she has is payed for by Charlie. And she isn't going to ask for money to buy a dress that she won't get to wear often. Even if right now she was regretting it.
There had to be something she could put together. Maybe she could ask Charlie for one of her suits? No it's too late for that.
The angel took out a few items and laid them out. She could work with this.
———
Charlie walked down the stairwell- ran is probably a better word. From the looks of it, Vaggie hadn't come down yet. Perfect! Charlie quickly pulled out the rose she had been hiding and went to lean against the door with in her hands.
It wasn't long before Vaggie emerged, beautiful as ever. Charlie gawked at the girl who was in a red button up and black skirt that showed off her thighs perfectly. And to top it all off, Vaggie wore the big red bow in her hair that Charlie personally picked out for her. It made her heart happy.
As Vaggie walked down the stairs she stared openly at the blonde who wore instead of her usual suits, a flowing purple dress that lifted just above her hooves which were currently in modified heels. The dress modestly showed off her generous rack and popped out her eye color. It went well with her pale skin and rosy red cheeks.
"M'lady." Charlie bowed down, putting the rose into her mouth and holding it with her teeth as one hand bent behind her back and the other outstretched for Vaggie to take. The grey skinned woman blushed and gently place her hand into the blondes. Charlie couldn't hide her smile as she stood back up and pushed the door open. "After you." She gestured. Vaggie couldn't help but chuckle at Charlie flirty antics. "Such a gentleman." She rolled her eyes.
Charlie couldn't help but grin wider and follow behind, the two still hand in hand. Together they walked to the limousine where dazzle sat in the driver seat to give them a ride. Charles made sure to get in front so she could hold the door open for Vaggie. Vaggie couldn't help but blush at all of the things Charlie was doing. She certainly wasn't use to this behavior, but she definitely didn't dislike it.
When Charlie climbed in a sat down next to her, she held the rose out for Vaggie. The angel smile a reached out to grab it, but then Charlie seemed to back peddle. "Wait!" Vaggie looked up at her in mild surprise. "Something wrong, hun?" Yes, the way Charlie's heart flutters every time Vaggie calls her that- but no! She quickly shook her head. "Actually... I was wondering if I could put it in your hair?" She asked with a shy smile. Vaggie's face soften. "Sure, why not? It'll match my outfit." Charlie grinned toothily and quickly held it up, then very carefully slid it into her partners hair.
Once it was secured, she leaned back. "There!" Vaggie turned to look up at the small mirror that hung from the ceiling of the car. She saw her own face. It looked rather good. "You look beautiful." Charlie said suddenly with sincerity. Vaggie blinked and look back at her. She was still tentative about their whole relationship. There were so many factors to take in an account. So many things that could go wrongs or cause problems. But... she really wanted it to work out because... Charlie is so important to her.
"Not as beautiful as you." She smirked. Charlie playfully nudge her shoulder. "As if." They both giggled together.
The car drove steady throughout the duration of their trip. As steady as you can for hell that is. Sometimes you just gotta ignore the pot holes, craters, dead bodies, people running a cross with no avail, and other odd things.
They safety made it to the restaurant. Charlie quickly zoomed out of the car and the the other side in hopes of opening the door for the other girl, but Vaggie already was stepping out with a smirk on her face. Charlie pouted at not being able to be chivalrous to which Vaggie's chuckled and held out one of her hands for Charlie to help her up. The blonde beamed and did so.
With the car door shut and hands held together, they took in the diner. It was a simple place, but fancy enough for them to have dressed up. It was kept in great condition considering other places in the area. One of the many things that made the place perfect. Charlie didn't want to flaunt all her money around to the citizens of hell or her date. But she certainly didn't want to bring Vaggie to some rundown fast food restaurant or anything. The horror.
Together they walked in. The interior was just as nice. The lighting was dimmed down giving it a more intimate feel to it. No one payed them any mind as they were seated. Vaggie will probably never understand how people don't bow to the princess, but she knows why they don't fear her. She's goof.
"What sounds good tonight?" Charlie asked as she scanned the menu. Vaggie hummed in thought. "Everything." Charlie gave her a look that clearly said that she would indeed buy it all at that very moment if Vaggie asked. The grey haired woman shook her head with a chuckle. "I think I'll just have a plate of ravioli." She leaned back as she waited for the waitress. Charlie grinned. "Ravioli is always good, but I think I'm gonna have to go with... hmm" Clearly she had not yet decided.
"May I take your order?" Charlie practically jumped out of her seat in surprise having not seen nor hear the waitress walked up to them. "O-oh uhm yes! I'll have the uh- steak! Well done!" She said without really thinking. Both the demon and Vaggie gave her an odd look. "Shoot, I mean medium rare." She laughed nervously. The demon taking her order nodded slowly and jostled it down. "And you?" She turned to Vaggie.
They had both ordered and she was gone. "Well done Charlie." Vaggie teased, using the opportunity to use the term "well done." Charlie groaned.
"I panicked!"
"I could tell."
Charlie slumber in her seat. Vaggie laughed softly. "No need to get pouty, hun." Charlie rolled her eyes. "I don't understand what people have against well done anyway! We all have sharp teeth!" She lifted her lip. "We can easily tear through it." She huffed. Vaggie blinked. "I think it has more to do with standards on earth. Humans don't have fangs. They only get them in hell." Vaggie stated as she self consciously trailed her tongue over her own sharp teeth that had been coming in since she fell.
Charlie seemed to ponder what Vaggie's said. "Yea, I guess that makes sense." The demon let out a sigh before Turing her frown upside down. "Soooo..." she tried to think of what to say. They already spoke to each other everyday. Lived with each other even, what was she suppose to ask about?
"So have long have you had a crush on me?" Vaggie smirked with her elbows on the table and her head in her hands. Charlie flamed red. "U-oh um.." She pulled at the collar of her dress. "Would it be weird if I said since I first saw you?" Vaggie blinked and tilted her head slightly. "You've had a crush since you saw me all beaten up?" Realizing how bad that sounded, Charlie panicked. "Well- not like that! B-but you were so pretty! And your sweet smile..." Charlie covered her face in embarrassment.
Vaggie laughed lightly. "I'm honored." Charlie looked up at her in confusion. "I had the princess swept off her feet before she even knew my name." Charlie brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear and look at Vaggie shyly. "I guess you did."
They looked into each other's eyes, lost for moments as they slowly leaned across the table. Vaggie's eyes began to flutter as they glanced down at the blondes lips. "It may have taken me a bit longer, but... you definitely captured my heart." Charlie's heart fluttered and she looked down to Vaggie lips. "I'm glad."
"Ravioli! And medium rare steak!" The waitress called as she broke their moment to push their plates in front of them. The two girls quickly leaned back, faces red. "O-oh thank you!" Charlie called politely as the demon already began to leave.
Silence.
Did they almost just kiss!?
Charlie cleared her throat. "How do they make food so fast?" She asked with an anxious chuckle. Vaggie shrugged. "You tell me. You've been here longer and chose the restaurant." Charlie blushed in embarrassment. "R-right. I guess I just never questioned it? The food is safe though I swear!" Vaggie hummed and took a bite. "Ooh you're right. This is pretty good."
Charlie smiled and took a bite of her own food. "Mmm! Delicious! Still would have been fine a little more done." They chuckled softly. "Can I have a bite of yours?" Charlie asked with a tilt of her head. Vaggie raised an eyebrow, but who was she to deny the princess?
She poked a ravioli onto her fork and held it up for the blonde. Charlie gaped at it with red cheeks. Vaggie looked in confusion at Charlie confusion before it dawned on her. "O-oh sorry. Here you can take one." She pushed her plate towards Charlie so she wouldn’t have to bite off the same fork as her. Charlie panicked. "Wait no! We can..." she trailed off as she reached to gently bring Vaggie's arm back up and brought the fork to her mouth to carefully eat the pasta. Vaggie blushed and looked away.
"Why so red?" Charlie herself had relaxed more now and found it in herself to tease her date. Vaggie half heartedly roll her eyes before playfully kicking Charlie in the leg. Not hard by any means. The demon giggled before moving to lightly kick her back, but merely ended up rubbing her foot against her leg. Vaggie’s shoulders tensed and Charlie immediately furrowed her eyebrows in concern, about to apologize before feeling a foot brushing against her legs. That’s when she noticed the heavenly blush on the shorter woman’s face, and how she had moved closer, presumably on the edge of her seat, in order to rub her calf.
The princess’s face grew increasingly red, almost matching the dots on her cheeks. Neither of them said anything as they quietly- rather intimately -rubbed the other’s lower legs and played footies.
While both were incredibly flustered at first, the excitement of new calmed down. It was certainly still intimate but they were able to ease their shoulders and ease back into conversation and go on with their date. The whole time their foots gently pushing the other playfully or sliding up the leg.
Overall, the date went great! The food was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was calm and gentle. No demons interfering. Vaggie was safe and comfortable with trust in Charlie's present. It was borderline perfect. Though, both of them had troubles keeping their eyes off each other. And their feet.
Charlie payed the bill and left a generous tip like always and they collected their thing before heading out.
"Hey Charlie?" Vaggie said once they got back to the hotel. Charlie hummed and turned to her. "Yes?" The blonde kicked off her shoes. "Thanks for tonight. It was nice." Vaggie grinned lightly as she spoke. Charlie beamed back at her. "Does this mean I've earned a second date?" She tilted her head. Vaggie laughed. "Yes. We can go on another date." Charlie squealed in excitement.
Vaggie smiled softly and draped her hands on Charlie shoulder and leaned up on her tippy toes to give the blonde a kiss on the cheek.
Dating the Princess of Hell isn't as scary as she thought it would be.

Yallllll I swear I never used to be busy idk what happened. I’ve got technically two jobs now and I’ve just been workin too much😔 I tired. But I shall aspire!! Yallllll I swear I never used to be busy idk what happened. I’ve got technically two jobs now and I’ve just been workin too much😔 I tired. But I shall aspire!!
I’m also busy because I get to go to Europe next summer!! But I have to earn a lot of money through fundraising 🥲. Which is why I have jobs plural ngl.
But yea uh sorry it took over a month for this and it not to be long 😶. Even when I have time to write I only had the motivation for about a paragraph at a time 😭. I’ve kinda hit a block on this. Do yall want a sex chapter? 🤨 or should I just do a time skip which I planned. (Which will still happen)
And some other stuff that’s not relevant at all but I like to rant- I burnt myself which hurt like a bitch. I think it’s gonna scar- which like- cool but why can’t any of my scars ever be from something cool? Like is someone asks me how I got it, saying I burned myself taking a pizza out of the oven just isn’t cool 😔. Nor is my scar from a fricken waterside. I do have one scar though that literally leads to all of the lore from before I could even think. So that’s cool, but people rarely ever notice it anyways 😭.
Anyways I’ll shut stfu now.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter 😘😋
