Memories of my Dreams

Summary:

Can be found on Wattpad. Anyway hi I’m here to test the ao3 author curse and also to get my fanfic to be more accessible for others who don’t have Wattpad.

Synopsis:
When Y/N was playing CRK at 2 in the morning, she was not expecting the sentient cookies from the game she was playing to show up in her kitchen.

Chapter 1: Opening

Chapter Text

It's 1 AM, and Y/N is still playing Cookie Run.

"GOLDEN CHEESE COME HOME ALREADYYYY!!!" she shrieked, using her last batch of crystals to do a 10 pull... but unfortunately, her Shining Glitter curse is once again plaguing her, as she pulled another pair of Shining Glitter Cookie.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she wailed, flopping down to her bed as she checked the time. Realising what time it actually was, she sighed and determined that it was about time for her to close her eyes and sleep. She sighed, and looked up to the moon, once again wishing that the cookies were real and she could talk to them in real life.

"If only... it's impossible though..." she shut down the idea and put her phone to charge, closing her eyes and drifting into a deep slumber, as deep as the one Pure Vanilla Cookie was once in. However, she would never know until she woke up that her wish, may have just come true, as a shooting star shot across the night sky.

Author's Note:
Hellooooo! I am back to writing and to my former readers and followers, I still have no idea how to continue my first fanfic "If I was in Cookie Run Kingdom". To be honest, when I read back to my past 2 years (maybe more) worth of work, I actually cringed a lot, and I hope this time, I can make this book something I can be proud of in future, a few years down the road, and maybe do a rewrite of my first fanfic. It does hold a special place in my heart after all. Thank you for sticking through with my nonsense once again!

Chapter 2: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

The moon's light cast a gentle glow on the curtains, as Y/N's alarm went off. It was time to get up and start preparing for school, at 6 AM sharp as usual, but as she turned over to start getting up, a memory struck her head. For the love of the Beast Cookies, it was a fricking school holiday! Moreover, it was a public holiday! Why did she set her alarm wrongly?! Groaning as she slammed the stop button, she turned over, only to hear a clanking noise coming from the kitchen.

Y/N panicked. She sat up as straight as how her teachers wanted her to sit in school, and grabbed a nearby file, ready to smack the intruder who was in her home.
"Dad isn't supposed to be home any time soon, and Mom's also overseas... who could it even be..?" She carefully tiptoed her way to the kitchen, only for her to hear shouts of "WHERE ARE WE?!" in frightened voices she was all too familiar with.

"No. Fricking. Way." Y/N glanced through the gap of the door, seeing small and tiny shadows run through the kitchen. She wasn't being delusional right? No, right? How could this even be, it was absolutely impossible right?! But those voices... she kept hearing through familiar voices from the game she was just playing five hours ago...

"Relax Wizard Cookie! It seems the witch of this hut isn't home! Or maybe she's asleep..."

"*sputtering* W-well I'm not taking any chances with witches ever again! The last time we faced a witch in the Witch's Castle...."

"Wizard Cookie is right... maybe this was a bad idea..."

Wizard Cookie? It can't be... Y/N breathed nervously, before quietly opening the door and seeing the three video game cookies she least expected to see, and all at once, both human and cookies, began to scream.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! A WITCH!!!!!! A WITCH!!!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! WHAT THE HELL?!?!? COOKIES????"

"GINGERBRAVE, SMACK HER WITH YOUR CANDYCANE!"

"LIGHTNING STRIKE!"

Y/N jumped out of the way of an impending lightning bolt, summoned by Wizard Cookie himself as they all panicked. Just as Strawberry Cookie was about to smack her fingers with a lollipop...

"WAIT! WAIT WAIT ちょっと待って (choutomatte) 等一下 WAIT!!!" she screeched. The cookies, Gingerbrave, Strawberry Cookie and Wizard Cookie all froze, still in their defensive stance as Y/N put her hands up in the air, speaking as fast as humanly possible.

"I'mnotathreatIjustwantedtotalktoyouguysandholycrapyouguysarerealmywishcametruewaitlemmeprocess." the girl blabbered, the words tumbling out of her mouth faster than she could think. The cookies barely caught anything, apart from "I'm not a threat" and "holy crap you guys are real". Wizard Cookie quickly interrupted, prodding his staff towards Y/N, "Slow down witch, we can't understand a thing you're blabbering." Y/N processed his words for a second, blinking twice and then settling down. She then opened her mouth to speak, slightly afraid of the trio of cookies brandishing their respective weapons at her.

"Okay, okay okay... so I'm not a threat to you guys, I know your names and... I can't believe I'm talking to living, breathing cookies, much less you guys..."Y/N slowly explained. Gingerbrave and Strawberry Cookie lowered their weapons, Wizard Cookie slowly following suit. Y/N sighed in relief, pulling up one of the counter stools and sitting down, staring at the three cookies, not knowing what to do after explaining her case.

Then she asked the question. "How did you guys get in my house?"

The three cookies stiffened up, before Gingerbrave spoke "We... just... landed in the grass outside, and then crawled through the window." He finished speaking and I sighed.
"Seems like I forgot to close up again today... but can't do much about it now."
Wizard Cookie then spoke up, "Aren't you a witch? And why are you not eating us?!" Y/N sighed, replying "Geez, no. I ain't no witch. Besides, there's no such thing as magic in this world, discounting the fact that you guys exist here. How'd you get outside anyway?"

Strawberry answered this time, "We uh... conducted a magic spell outside the Cookie Kingdom and ended up here..." "HEY! DON'T GIVE UP OUR SECRETS TO THE WITCH!" yelled out Wizard Cookie. Y/N sighed and repeated, "I'm not a witch and I can't do magic... though sometimes I wish I could."

"Oh right... but that doesn't mean we'll trust you!" barked the short cookie, his white scarf swaying limply with his every movement. Y/N tried not to giggle as the little cookie scowled, his eyes shining with a fierce defiance. She laughed and replied, "Fine by me. And I won't try to eat you guys, promise. In return..." she was interrupted as Wizard Cookie yet again remarked, "Oh my, now she wants a catch!"

"Gee, not like that! I just wanted you guys to not attack me unless I hurt you." she huffed. The trio looked at each other, nervousness filling their eyes as they huddled up and discussed the promise. Their words were out of Y/N's earshot, so she couldn't hear a word. She stared at them until they broke the huddle, with Gingerbrave speaking.

"Fine by us! We agree!" Y/N nodded as she held out her pinky.

"Oh wait, you guys don't have fingers... a handshake?" she offered, retracting her pinky and switching to her hand. Gingerbrave, with his signature smirk, took the huge hand and shook it. Strawberry Cookie seemed to be much calmer, same with Wizard Cookie as the deal was sealed. To Y/N, it looked like the start of a brand new adventure...

Author's Note:
I was trying so hard not to make the conversation sound awkward (TwT), but I think it turned out nice. I'll try to publish weekly, and let's see whether this works out or not. In the meantime, enjoy!

Chapter 3: Chapter 2

Summary:

I MESSED UP THE FORMAT AAAAA I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT PUBLISHING IT IN ORDER

Chapter Text

The cookies and Y/N talked for a long, long while. She showed them how things worked in the human world, and whatever questions they had for her, she happily answered.

"What's this?" Strawberry Cookie shyly asked, as she held up a piece of acrylic plastic Y/N had lying around her workstation. "That's a piece of acrylic plastic, I plan to junk it since I've finished with my project," replied Y/N.

"Pray tell, what are these... characters?" Wizard Cookie was standing on top of Y/N's most dreaded and currently half-done homework assignment: a Chinese Essay. "Oh, that's just my homework. The characters on this paper are from a language called Mandarin, which is a human thing. If you'd like, I can teach you. But it be a long, agonizing and painful process..." Both Y/N and Wizard Cookie shuddered at the thought.

"GINGERBRAVE NO DON'T TURN THAT ON-" screamed Y/N, as Gingerbrave was about to turn on the tap. What followed was a short lecture from Y/N about the dangers of the tap as it would have water spill through it and therefore soak Gingerbrave and make him soggy.

At around 8.30 am, Wizard Cookie said, "We really should be going back. The others would be worried about us..." At the thought of the cookies leaving, Y/N was struck with a feeling of despair. "You guys are leaving?" she asked quietly, and the trio nodded. Wizard Cookie spoke again, "Don't worry about it. I've memorised the spell that would take us to outside your window. We'll come back if we can." Y/N nodded at this, not wanting the cookies to go, but fully understanding that they had a home and friends to return to. The small group bid their farewells, and Wizard Cookie opened the portal back to Earthbread.

Time skip

To Y/N's surprise, when she woke up in the afternoon after the cookies went home, she sighed and began to ponder if it was a dream. She poured herself a cup of tea, going back to her usual dreary days as she placed the teacup on her table.

Y/N's room (also my irl room)

Was "Were the cookies actually here

Was "Were the cookies actually here..? No, it must have all been a dream... magic doesn't exist after all..."

Meanwhile, in the Cookie Kingdom...

"Gingerbrave! Strawberry Cookie! Wizard Cookie! You three worried us so much..." a voice called out. The voice was from a cookie, with a familiar-looking wafer cone hat and cape, and was carrying a Vanilla Orchid staff.

"Pure Vanilla Cookie! We're fine, no injuries, see?" Gingerbrave turned over, with no visible cuts or any injuries on his doughy body. The Ancient Healer sighed, shaking his head. Gingerbrave was going to usher him into an early grave at this rate, with the sheer number of things the young child had made him worry about.

"Tell me everything, and what on Earthbread happened after Wizard Cookie casted that spell that Custard Cookie III had told me about. Spare no details." he said, in an extremely serious and worried tone, his eyebrows furrowing with said worry as he did so. The trio of cookies exchanged unreadable looks, before Strawberry Cookie began to talk, "Um... we fell into this portal thing... and we landed in a field full of grass." Strawberry Cookie shuddered at the thought of the Witch's Castle, recalling the grass that they had ran into after they escaped from that dreaded place. The grass outside Y/N's home was as big as from that... place.

Wizard Cookie, sensing his sister figure's discomfort, decided to pick up the story on her behalf.
"We saw a light, and it was a house that kind of looked like a... Witch's Hut..." He shivered uncomfortably, before continuing, "We climbed in through the window, and we were discussing what to do next... and then she came in." He paused, nervous about sharing the next few details. He looked to Gingerbrave, the latter who understood Wizard Cookie's discomfort, and decided to tie up the loose ends and spoke in an excited voice.

"That girl we met was a human, the same species as a witch... but she said couldn't do magic and that there was no such thing as magic in her world... we don't know if she was lying, but she promised not to harm us if we didn't hurt her. And she taught us a lot of things about her world too! She even offered to teach Wizard Cookie a human language, and her name's Y/N!" Pure Vanilla Cookie was shocked by this information, and he felt his nerves creeping up on him. He felt a shudder go down his spine as he thought about their very own creators, and what happened to White Lily that night... he didn't want to know more. However, at the same time, a hint of curiosity that was as strong as the curiosity he had in the Blueberry Yoghurt Academy, as his mind sparked with wonderment at the thought of meeting Y/N

"Thank you, Gingerbrave." Pure Vanilla Cookie said, attempting to hide his worry with the relief that the children were safe. A sudden thought came to his mind at the moment, and he quickly voiced it out, "Could you perhaps... bring me and the other ancients to see this human? I'd like to see her for myself to ensure that we can trust her..." The trio responded with quick nods, and the conversation ended as quickly as it had started.

Back on Earth...

It was going to be dusk soon, and Y/N was just finishing up her school homework, putting down her pen and sighing as she leaned back against her chair. A sudden sound of a glass panel smashing reached her ears, and Y/N quickly hurried towards the direction the sound had come from, pushing the door to the kitchen open and looking towards the window to check on it.

Her jaw dropped once she saw who had broken the window to climb in, and the girl just blinked.

"So, it really wasn't a dream..."

Author's Note:
Surprise surprise, guess who decided to upload! I think, with the number of chapters I can write up this quickly, I'll publish every Monday and Friday between 8.00 am to 10.00 am, GMT +8 timezone. How about that?

Chapter 4: Chapter 3

Summary:

The ancients broke her window to meet her.

Chapter Text

Y/N stared. That was all she could do at this moment, stare at the five Ancient Cookies who were just standing on her kitchen counter with the original trio. She blinked, and they weren't going away, so she definitely wasn't hallucinating. She stared at each cookie, reciting their names in her head: Pure Vanilla Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie, Dark Cacao Cookie, Golden Cheese Cookie, and White Lily Cookie.

Pure Vanilla was the first to break the silence.

"Are you the human that Gingerbrave and his friends told us about? It's a pleasure to meet you, I am Pure Vanilla Cookie. Apologies for breaking your window, by the way. There was no other means to get in."

Y/N was still processing, and she couldn't respond. This slightly worried Pure Vanilla Cookie. Maybe they had shocked the human too much? She was still a child (she's around 16)...

Then...

"Holy crap... Your Majesties!" she addressed the Five with a tone of respect, doing a 90-degree bow as Pure Vanilla shook his head and waved his hand, saying, "No need to bow, young one. I assume you know us, since you know of our titles?" Y/N nodded furiously, feeling the very aura of raw power emanating from the five cookies that stood before her.

"So this is the so-called "friendly" human that Gingerbrave and his friends were referring to... it's a pleasure to meet you!" said the ever-jubilant Hollyberry Cookie, she seemed to be on her guard though, as observed by Y/N. She gave a wave, and Y/N nervously nodded.

"Hmph. She may have not harmed our own kind, but we should not be so quick to trust her, Hollyberry Cookie," the stoic Dark Cacao Cookie reminded his friend. The Queen Mother of the Hollyberry Kingdom was quick to reply to her old friend, saying something Y/N could not hear.

"So, this is a human's residence... what a peculiar place! It shines, but yet there is still a certain degree of dullness..." remarked the shining Golden Cheese Cookie, as she flew around the kitchen, scouting the place out and checking for any potential dangers. Y/N looked rather nervous, as her own kitchen was being inspected by the one and only Golden Cheese Cookie who expected nothing but the best.

"Ah, well, my kitchen's a little shabby... I didn't know you all were coming so I didn't have the chance to clean up." Y/N said, a hint of anxiety in her voice as she sheepishly rubbed her neck.

Before Y/N could look over at Golden Cheese Cookie to ensure her safety, a calming yet excited voice interrupted her thoughts, "It's... amazing, to say the least, to even be able to meet a person who is of the same species as our very own creators..!" Y/N turned her head to meet the velvet and gentle gaze of White Lily Cookie, the very cookie she had spent nights wishing that she herself could meet one day and now her dream had come true. White Lily Cookie's eyes were full of excitement and the unmistakable glint of knowledge and wisdom within her eyes.

Y/N finally spoke, "It's... simply amazing to meet you all... I never thought this would be possible." Pure Vanilla and the other ancients decided to stop what they were doing to properly talk to Y/N, and the former spoke.

"If I recall, your world does not have any form of magic, right? Gingerbrave and his friends told me what happened the morning you met him," Pure Vanilla nodded in the aforementioned cookie's direction, causing the young child to blush in slight embarrassment.

"It was nothing, really!" Gingerbrave nervously said. Wizard Cookie scoffed in a nagging tone, "Nothing to you! This confirms one of the greatest magical mysteries of possible interdimensional travel, Gingerbrave!" Of course, Gingerbrave did not understand a thing his friend said, simply shrugging it off.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all, Pure Vanilla Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie, Dark Cacao Cookie, Golden Cheese Cookie and White Lily Cookie," Y/N nervously spoke.

Then all hell broke loose.

"How did you know our names?!" "Did you cast a spell of knowledge?!" As the questions barrage went on, Dark Cacao Cookie was already brandishing his sword, holding it out as Y/N held up her hands in fear.

"No, no! You all just came from a game I play!" She reached into her back pocket and pulled out her phone, opening the game and placing the screen on the table for them to look in. Sure enough, when she opened the cookies menu, the ancients saw their names projected there along with various appearances of their characters.

Golden Cheese Cookie, her eyes wide with wonderment, exclaimed, "What... fascinating technology! It's almost as advanced as my kingdom's very own! Perhaps even more advanced! And you say we come from this... 'game' of yours?" Y/N nervously replied with a "Yes, yes" and she quickly explained how the game worked and everything about the app.

"Amazing..." was all White Lily Cookie could say, as Y/N finished her very long and exceedingly complicated (and full of stuttering) explanation. "Wait... then! You know our whole stories?!" exclaimed Hollyberry Cookie.

"That I do," replied Y/n, who was still nervous about knowing most of the cookies and their backstories as well as their secrets. Of course, Dark Cacao Cookie raised his eyebrow in suspicion as he observed the virtual version of him say "True strength comes from balance".

White Lily Cookie suddenly looked nervous, as this meant that the human girl none of them knew their whole story, possibly their future, and... what had happened to her. As if White Lily Cookie had vocalized her thoughts, Y/N gave her a slight nod as if to tell her "Your secrets are safe with me" as she turned back to keep talking to the others.

The now expanded group discussed some matters of alliance and some matters about bridging the gap between their worlds. Pure Vanilla Cookie was leading along the discussion, and at the end of it all, Y/N was trying not to giggle from joy as she shook Pure Vanilla Cookie's hand before the cookies went home.

Of course, the moment the portal closed, she was squealing and jumping in joy from having just met the cookies of her dreams.

Author's Note:
Now that I've got the groundwork laid out, please tell me what cookies you'd like Y/N to meet! I'm currently working on a Mint Choco Cookie and Cocoa Cookie chapter, and after that I'll start going based off your requests! Not all of them may be completed, and some chapters will be reserved for each of the Ancients and maybe the Faeries and Beasts. Thanks so much for supporting my new fic, and comment below who you'd like Y/N to meet!

Chapter 5: Chapter 4

Summary:

Mint Choco Cookie and Cocoa Cookie come for a visit

Chapter Text

In the Cookie Kingdom...

News spread quickly, and soon enough, many cookies wanted to meet the friendly human named Y/N. Some were a little more open minded than others, with a minority being skeptical about the case. However, most of their doubts were extinguished once Pure Vanilla Cookie had personally deemed Y/N trustworthy. Within a few days, many cookies had asked Wizard Cookie to take them to meet Y/N, mostly in groups of threes. Of course, Wizard Cookie had to organise all the requests first, before preparing to take each group to Y/N's house every day.

The next day, at Y/N's home...

Y/N was just coming home from school, tired as she hunched her back over in exhaustion. Another day of being depressed, studying too hard, getting weeded out by teachers and singled out by her peers. Just an average day at school. She looked over to the window panel she had recently replaced after the Ancients visited for the first time, and instead of replacing it with glass, Y/N had just covered it in fabric so that the cookies who spawned outside could come in without breaking something. She turned around and noticed a certain violinist and sweet-smelling cookie making a cup of cocoa at her table.

"Cocoa Cookie? Mint Choco Cookie?" Y/N inquired. The two friends turned around, and smiled as they greeted the girl.

Cocoa Cookie asked, "You're Y/N right? Mint Choco Cookie and I heard plenty about you!" Mint Choco Cookie added on to his best friend's words, "We were quite curious about your world and it's beverages and music, so we lined up first thing in the morning to get the chance to meet you." Y/N giggled as she replies, "Of course, I'll show you guys the violinists of the world over a cup of cocoa."

The two cookies and Y/N settled onto her couch after Cocoa Cookie finished making the cocoa, with the pair settling onto a pillow as Y/N opened her laptop to show them the violinist Lindsay Sterling. The two cookies had their eyes wide open in fascination as they watched the famous violinist reach the limits of the human body while playing her violin and the extreme level of coordination her audience had.

"Wow..." Mint Choco Cookie took in a deep breath, wide eyed and amazed from the sheer level of quality in each performance video.

"Amazing... how does she do that?" asked Cocoa Cookie. Y/N shrugged, admiring Lindsay Sterling's talent as they finished up the video. She closed her laptop as the two cookies excitedly discussed their findings with Y/N, happily talking about cocoa, music and more.

Soon, the sun was setting, and the two cookies decided to go home.

"It was nice to meet you guys, and thanks for all the cocoa making tips, Cocoa Cookie," said Y/N as the little group smiled. Cocoa Cookie did her usual adorable smile as Mint Choco Cookie did his iconic performer's bow.

"Of course! We couldn't be happier. Thank you for sharing more about your world with us!" Mint Choco Cookie replied, and the portal opened for them to go home.

Once the two cookies were gone...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! I STILL HAVE HOMEWORK TO DO!!!!!!!!!!"

Author's note:

All done! I'll probably start working on the Creme Republic chapter soon, and leave your requests at Chapter 3's comment section so that it's easier for me to track please. Thank you!

Chapter 6: Just a little drabble

Summary:

A little drabble

Chapter Text

Okay so I was thinking what if... Dark Cacao became corrupted like Mystic Flour and the other beasts and froze his whole kingdom over. Like what if??? SOOO I wrote a oneshot, give me your comments on it! Also I might publish it in my other book too. And by the way, it's a song fic. The song is called "The Rose" by the way, and it's a good song to listen to if you need a good cry.

The Rose (Dark Cacao x OC! Honeyflower)

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed

Dark Cacao originally had never believed in romantic love. Sure, even when he and the others were still the Five Ancient Heroes, he could see the budding romance between Pure Vanilla and White Lily, but now that they had all been "corrupted" according to other cookies, he couldn't feel anything amongst that blizzard of cold in his heart, other than his original love for his son, Dark Choco Cookie.

That all changed once he met her.

Some say love, it is a razor

That leaves your soul to bleed

Dark Cacao had gone through betrayals, hardships, and even after his son tried to kill him twice, even after taming the Licorice Sea, he still struggled with the power of his soul jam to the point he succumbed to Solitude, giving up his former Resolution to numb himself from the freezing cold and pain of loss.

Some say love, it is a hunger

An endless aching need

He yearned to feel again, but he was like a tower amidst everyone else: solitary, silent and foreboding, inciting fear into everyone who saw it. Dark Cacao remained still as stone, unmoving. Yes, he was still aware of the world around him even after regressing into isolation and falling into silence while his kingdom froze over from the darkest of permafrost that came from his uncontrolled power, but this... emptiness was still consuming him.

I say love, it is a flower

He had left the Citadel one day, searching for the subjects he lost as a result of his so called incompetence, and had found a frozen child, pointing to where the ice had come from and kneeled in the emptiness that consumed him, trying to feel sorry for the child but still failing to figure out his emotions, when she came.

And you, it's only seed

"Are you alright?" she had asked, kneeling next to Dark Cacao, as the wind blew his hair to hide his empty expression and face, like it knew what he wanted to hide.

It's the heart, afraid of breaking

That never learns to dance

"My name's Honeyflower. What's yours?" the woman asked, smiling gently and kneeling beside him. Dark Cacao remained silent, as he listened to Honeyflower. She observed him for a few more minutes, before speaking again, "I... suppose you've lost someone... who's this?" she had asked shyly, not trying to intrude or go overboard. Dark Cacao remained silent as usual.

It's the dream, afraid of waking

That never takes the chance

Honeyflower offered words of comfort, those words that thawed a slight bit of the cold ice in Dark Cacao's heart, making him wonder "Do I have a chance at forgiveness?"

It's the one, who won't be taken

Who cannot seem to give

"You know, it's alright to make mistakes... but the important part is that we learn from them. After all, tomorrow will always be a better day," she had said. Dark Cacao began to feel the thawing warmth that she provided for him, and he could... feel?

It's the soul, afraid of dying

That never learns to live

The wind blew his hair out of his face, and Honeyflower gave a light gasp once she realised who he was, and Dark Cacao knew... it was over, his only source of warmth to leave if he did not do anything. Honeyflower spoke, "I-I didn't know it was you, Your Majesty, I am so sorry for my words! Please excuse-"

When the night has been too lonely

And the road has been too long

As Honeyflower was about to leave, Dark Cacao quietly spoke and interrupted her words of worry, "Wait... please." he called out, as Honeyflower paused in her movements and turned to face him as she was afraid of being killed or frozen to death by Dark Cacao's sheer power. Her eyes, those heterochromatic eyes, the left with hues of pink among the grey and the right with lush green amidst the brown, met Dark Cacao's own dull, purple eyes that now had a slight glimmer of desperation in them.

And you think that love is only

For the lucky and the strong

"Please, stay with me..." Dark Cacao said, in that same quiet tone. Honeyflower's eyes widened, as her mind slowly processed the frozen and bitter king's words. Dark Cacao's desperation was hidden and well kept behind his stoic and frosty demeanour.

Just remember, in the winter

Far beneath the bitter snows

Honeyflower was still in slight disbelief at the king's words, but her heart softened once she saw the sadness in his eyes and the pain behind them. She took a few small steps towards Dark Cacao, and knelt beside him once more, just like when she was comforting him, and her warm aura penetrated the cold king's iced heart.

Lies the seed, that with the sun's love

In the spring...

Dark Cacao wanted her to stay, and that's what Honeyflower did, as she brought words of warmth and comfort to the burdened king, her eyes filled with a gentle warmth that thawed some of the permafrost in his heart as she comforted him amidst the snowstorm he had caused. He was... feeling again? That slight sense of joy, and that... love he once held was coming back to him, but this was a different kind of love, could it be? He wondered.

...becomes the Rose

Honeyflower accompanied Dark Cacao back to his kingdom, where the former subjects were plainly astonished once they saw the king coming back with Honeyflower and looking warmer than usual, with his snow tipped hair having less white snow on it. And Dark Cacao ignored them, sitting back on his throne and becoming unmoving, this time with his only source of warmth by his side, in his freezing hands that protected Honeyflower's warmth from being extinguished.

This time, he wouldn't let her go, as Honeyflower would remain by his side.

Chapter 7: Chapter 4.5 {interlude}

Summary:

Was requested by one of my Wattpad readers to give some info about Y/N's dynamic with her family

Chapter Text

I'll be explaining Y/N's dynamic with her parents and family for this interlude, which reflects off my own family.

To put it short, she doesn't really have a good relationship with her family in general, extended family included.

{Immediate Family}

Y/N does not have a good relationship with her mother. Yes, they are on speaking terms, but she's uncomfortable with telling them her private hobbies like writing and her gaming, as her family mostly mocks her for being a very active anime fan and gamer. Y/N's mother also likes to make decisions on Y/N's behalf and tries to manipulate her into doing what she thinks is best for Y/N, whether it's buying a pen, how to hold a pen or her music classes. She also likes to emotionally manipulate Y/N, for example is Y/N does not want to eat dinner, she'd switch off all the lights in the room and acts upset just to get Y/N out of the room to eat. Y/N's mother also likes to put the blame on others a lot. She also tends to be lazy and blames Y/N for her own laziness. Another thing is that when Y/N does not get straight A's, she likes to play the card of using Y/N's terrible memory against her, like for example guilt tripping Y/N into think that she had promised to get said grades and basically threatening Y/N to cut contact with all of her friends, whether online or not.

She thinks of her father as a creep, as he likes to disturb her in the weirdest ways possible like saying he would bite and tickle her, and she's scared to say that it makes her feel uncomfortable. Her father also likes getting a reaction out of her too when he says that. He also is like a man child in Y/N's opinion as he throws tantrums when he does not get his way in family decisions and tends to scold Y/N's grandmother a lot.

Y/N is a youngest child, by the way.
And did I mention that half of her family are homophobic because they are Christian? Most notably her mother and brother, since her sister and father are not homophobic, which is why Y/N is still not sure about her sexuality since if she said she was gay or bisexual, they would immediately try to pray the gay away.

Y/N thinks of her older sister as a brat, as she still picks on Y/N for not doing as she's told and keeps making fun of Y/N as she likes things that is considered peculiar in her family. Her sister is also pretty rude to her too and calls her a muppet for crying when Y/N is upset. Y/N's sister also tends to take her out on shopping trips, mostly because Y/N doesn't dress according to her own body type and Y/N's sister wants to make her dress the way she thinks Y/N should dress in.

Y/N's brother is a deep-rooted Christian like her mother; therefore, she also feels uncomfortable with telling him anything as he would most likely snitch on her and get her to be laughed at even more, or him attempting to pray her affection for fictional characters away from her. Her brother is the closest to her in the immediate family though.

{Extended Family}

Her grandmother on her father's side is someone she genuinely feels safe with, and can tell her about the worries she faces, but Y/N is still hesitant to open up about her situation and genuine discomfort around her family as she is afraid that her grandmother would tell her father if she told her grandmother about the discomfort she feels around everyone else.

Her grandmother on her mother's side has dementia and was also classified as insane long before she was even diagnosed with dementia. Y/N is a little close to her and is the only one among her siblings and cousins who keep in constant contact with their grandmother.

Both her grandfathers are dead.

Her granduncle is a pedophile who tried to molest her on multiple occasions.

Her grandaunt is the most chill of them all, and Y/N opens up to her the most in the most obscure ways, like hinting about her discomfort around her family.

Her uncle on her father's side is pretty decent, but she doesn't really know how to talk to him.

Her uncle on her mother's side, she finds that she cannot talk to him in any way as they have nothing in common to speak of. And he abuses her cousins as he often hits and shouts at both of them for not getting "good" grades. His idea of "good grades" is straight A's like Y/N's mother.

Speaking of Y/N's cousins, her older cousin is a devout gamer who she can relate to, and they talk a lot on discord. Her younger cousin is a brat who goes on about Gen Alpha stuff all the time that Y/N cannot understand. Both are the closest people to Y/N on her mother's side of the family.

Y/N's aunt on her mother's side is a relatively okay person, but Y/N finds that she can also be rather freaky at times, especially after having her youngest cousin but that gets a pass to Y/N. Y/N finds that her aunt is also very capable at guilt tripping but it's very easy not to fall into the trap, unlike her mother's own way of guilt tripping.

Overall, Y/N's family are mostly composed out of pedophiles, complete manipulators, bullies and creeps. She tends to also want to vomit around them and takes every chance she can get to not talk to any of them despite still living with her parents (who are the worst of the lot, in Y/N's opinion).

{Honorary Family to Y/N}

Her Chinese tutor is one of the closest people to Y/N apart from her friends, and she was the first one to find out when Y/N was self-harming a while back (don't worry, she's been clean for a good few months now) and flagged it. Y/N's parents did not want her to go for counselling though. Y/N's Chinese tutor is also like a third parent to her too, despite how strict she is about Y/N's Chinese grades. However, Y/N can tell that her Chinese tutor genuinely really wants the best for Y/N, whether it's about eating healthily, her grades, mental and physical wellbeing, and more.

{extra}

In the main story, Y/N's parents are both away on business trips. Her sister moved out and her brother has also moved out, which is why she's alone in the house all the time. Y/N's comfort characters are also the cookies, which was why she was so happy to meet them.

OH CRAP I FORGOT TO PUBLISH CHAPTER 5 HERE I'M SO SORRY GUYS

Notes:

The Creme Republicans come for a visit

Chapter Text

Another day has arrived! Y/N packed for her usual school day at 6 in the morning as she donned her school uniform, a navy-blue pinafore over a white blouse and shorts with a fabric belt.

Y/N sighed, stuffing her math textbook into her bag and wondering what cookies would come and visit today. There was not any cookies here yet, so maybe they would come later on?

She was already mentally prepared for an explosion, another window breaking, or the sink getting flooded as she put down her bag and stretched. Turning to her dining area to grab a sandwich, a certain Consul Clotted Cream Cookie and his Elders were here today. Well, three out of the seven (as of the game since Mille-Feuille and Canale are missing) current Elders of the Creme Republic. Including the bastard called Custard Cookie. Y/N let out a startled gasp, pointing to Elder Custard Cookie and yelled, "AHHHH! A ROACH!

(jkjk the roach part never happened, she just gasped)

Clotted Cream Cookie spoke first, "Ah, are you the friendly human the Ancients have spoken to us about?" with that ever-charming smile on his face. Y/N nodded, averting her eyes from Custard Cookie and looking at the other Elders that were present: Captain Caviar Cookie and Oyster Cookie.

Y/N nodded, not even bothering to bow due to Custard Cookie's annoying presence here, "Welcome to my humble abode, Consul, however, I can't stay for long. I need to head to school soon." She smiled and went over to them, hastily taking her toast and suggesting they come back in about 11 hours, due to her needing to travel to school, stay there for a good 10 hours, and come back in 1 hour. Captain Caviar Cookie looked positively astounded by her remark about staying in school for ten hours straight.

"Kiddo, how do you do that?" asked the seafaring captain, positively horrified at the idea of staying in a stuffy room with no scent of the ocean nearby and torturous work. Oyster Cookie agreed with her colleague's words, asking in disbelief, "I understand that education in itself is very taxing, but ten hours straight? Do you even have breaks in between?"

Y/N nodded as she replied, "Of course I do, we have a half an hour break for early days like this in the morning, and a lunch break, totaling up to one hour's worth of a break,"

Custard Cookie spoke with his usual pompous tone, "Hah! That's nothing compared to what us, members of House Custard do!" Y/N cringed, and hid it well, while Clotted Cream Cookie and the other two elders scowled at his lack of manners. Y/N picked up her bag, and Clotted Cream Cookie quickly spoke up.

"Wait! I'd like to come with you." The girl was startled at the Consul's words, and Oyster Cookie who knew what the young Consul was thinking, quickly added on to his point.

"We would like to see how the education system works here, and to gain more knowledge of this world. Would you mind letting us accompany you?" Oyster Cookie's words added onto Y/N's uncertainty, but the girl caved after seeing Captain Caviar Cookie's curious expression. She sighed and said, "Very well then... but how will you guys see what's going on?"

Clotted Cream Cookie, ever the resourceful one, quickly presented Y/N with a piece of technology from the Creme Republic, giving her a rundown of what it does. In Y/N's mind, it basically was a streaming camera but magical. Whoever was on the viewer side could see and hear what was going on, while whoever was on the streamer side just did whatever and their point of view would be shown to the cookies on the viewer side.

(Custard Cookie was seen attempting to protest to this, but Clotted Cream just sent him back to the Creme Republic saying that he would share his findings another time)

"Okay, got it," Y/N slipped the cookies into her bag, letting them peek out of her water bottle's side pocket as she walked to the train station. The cookies were fascinated by the modes of transport, whispering amongst themselves as they marvelled at the sheer speed the train went at.

Y/N had already explained to the Council members in advance that the subjects she would be learning today was Math, English, Mother Tongue (Chinese), Science, History and Music. and the small group of cookies discussed the separate subjects in her bag while Y/N got on the public bus. She could hear their muffled voices coming from the side pocket as she sat next to a friend of hers, and the two groups of cookies and humans had their own separate conversations.

The cookies used the day wisely, learning about human languages, mathematics on calculating speeds and ratio, along with sciences and chemicals. What intrigued them the most was how Y/N interacted with her classmates and teachers, as if she was switching personality with almost every person she spoke to, with a few exceptions in between though. However, they were mostly focussing on the education system.

During her lunch break, the Elders and Clotted Cream Cookie popped out of her bag, as Y/N opened it.

"Kay, it's safe for you guys to talk now. So what do you think about my classes?"

Captain Caviar Cookie started first, "Kid... I have no idea how ya do this five times a week. Ya gotta be dying by now!" Y/N giggled as she replied, "Well, there have been times I felt like I was drowning in work, along with this and that to be honest. However, I've been doing this since I was seven, though the hours were shorter. Maybe about six hours?" Captain Caviar Cookie's jaw dropped, and he sat down on a nearby eraser to process this information properly.

Oyster Cookie spoke up next, "Fascinating. I never knew that the sheer speed that one walks at could be calculated with a single formula. Perhaps Elder Mulled Juice Cookie would enjoy an educational trip here..." Y/N awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck, blushing at the compliments to the knowledge that could be obtained here.

Clotted Cream Cookie nodded, agreeing with the two Sea Elders comments. However, he had more questions than compliments, so he asked Y/N, "What's PSLE? And what's O-Levels?". At the sheer thought of those things, Y/N paled. She shuddered and replied, "PSLE is short for 'Primary School Leaving Examinations', which is something I've already taken since I'm in Secondary School. O-Levels is also a type of exam I'll be taking in a few years time... and it basically dictates what school I can go to after this." The Elders looked fascinated, and Oyster Cookie piped up:

"Say, would you let us try one of these examination papers?"

The next thing Y/N knew, she was rushing to the nearby mall to buy one of the previous year's book of PSLE papers and opened it up to the paper she took last year. As soon as she reached home, she plonked the books on the table, shuddering from the PTSD the questions in that book caused her.

"Go on, do your best, though I wish you good luck with the math paper..." Y/N sighed, before leaving the table to get a cup of cocoa, shaking her head that was filled with trauma flashbacks.

Five hours later...

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS QUESTION?!"

(no cookies lost any braincells or banged their head against the table in the making of this chapter)

Author's Note:
I wrote up a whole new chapter for this... It's fine!! I think it was an okay chapter overall. And yes, the part about how I had school for 10 hours is true, it's my Friday schedule... heh.

Chapter 9: Note

Chapter Text

Hi guys, so I won't be able to write or publish next week and on Monday as I'll be going overseas soon, and I need to pack. Also, I'm not allowed to bring any devices, so that's why I won't be publishing for a while. Sorry about that...

Anyway, I'll be back by 5th of December and I'll publish on the 6th, which is a Friday and a part of my twice-a-week publishing schedule. I have a feeling you all will enjoy the next chapter, though I'll still work on any requests (with exceptions being the requests that break the rules which I will do a part on once I make a proper request page).

Take care of yourselves! And the request page should be published soon.

Chapter 10: Request Page!

Summary:

About damn time I got around to making this.

Chapter Text

I've finally gotten around to making this...

So please put in your requests here! I'll try my best to write them out for all to enjoy, but there are a few rules that have to be followed or else I will not complete your said request:

RULES:

1. No sexual content
I'm very uncomfortable with writing any form of this type of content and I do have a younger audience reading my book. I'm also a minor by the way.

2. Yes, {cookie} x reader requests are allowed. And so are ships. However, I will not be able to write about poly ships as I have almost zero knowledge about that sort of thing. And yes, I also can write about non-straight ships. Also, fluff and angst are allowed too.

3. Request answers may not be in the order they were posted in, but rather in what could inspire and give me the most ideas. In order for that to be so, please be as detailed as possible when it comes to the small specifics of your request.

4. Trigger warnings will be added if needed, like on my Tumblr posts.

5. Character deaths are okay with me, but I will not delve too deep into the details for the sake of my younger readers.

6. Songfics are very much allowed, and they are actually one of my specialties! Please add the name of the song and who performed it so that I can give it a listen and bring out the story of the requested song in a chapter.

7. Please do not rush me when it comes to request answering. I have a life outside of writing (though writing is a very big part of my life) and I want to live it to the fullest.

Thank you so much for supporting Memories of My Dreams!

Chapter 11: Chapter 6

Summary:

Y/N is back after her long trip! But where did she go?

Notes:

HOLY CRAP YA'LL I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING I FORGOT I HAD AO3 AGAIN... Anyway, here's the latest chapter!

Chapter Text

A groan resounded out into the spacious house as Y/N hauled her two suitcases of gifts and her personal things into the house. Y/N has gone on a trip overseas for a few days (as I mentioned in my note earlier) and she was finally home. She sighed and stretched, smiling as she opened her suitcase and started taking out her daily essentials when she heard little voices. It was the cookies!

"Y/N! Y/N! There you are!" cried out Custard Cookie III when the little king spotted her. "Guys, get over here quick! Y/N's back!" he yelled excitedly to his friends, who popped up and also ran to the edge of the table, where Y/N was standing nearby and smiling, delighted to see the cookies. Meanwhile, the other party had many. many questions that Y/N had to answer for them.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" screeched Wizard Cookie, who looked rather concerned for her.

"WHY DID YOU NOT TELL US HOW LONG YOU WERE GOING OFF FOR?! WE WERE WORRIED!" (all caps mean louder than usual for Strawberry Cookie only) asked Strawberry Cookie, who looked more relieved than upset.

"Did you bring us back anything?!" excitedly asked Chili Pepper Cookie, who was rubbing her hands together like a maniac.

"Most importantly, what did you do?" asked Gingerbrave, in a perfectly normal but slightly panicked tone.

Y/N simply laughed at the cookies, as she pulled out a photo and said, "I went to Cambodia! A country in this world!"

Y/N did not expect the cookies to react this way to her announcement. To make it short...

"Cambodia? That sounds like the name of a disease..." remarked Wizard Cookie.

The cookies all had different reactions compared to what Y/N was imagining, and they said girl was plainly confused by Wizard Cookie's remark. His words were followed by chimes of agreement and other little comments from the other cookies, and surprisingly, it was Chili Pepper Cookie who cut it out.

"Wait wait wait, the important part is... does this place have anything I can steal?"

Y/N held back her laughter at Chili Pepper Cookie's expected question as she opened her suitcase, pulling out gifts for her friends. "Of course, and I bought some things for you guys" she replied, smiling as she handed Chili Pepper a small gold ring, the said cookie quickly grabbing and appraising the ring to check how much it was worth.

One by one, Y/N gave each of the five cookies their presents:

Strawberry Cookie received a pink silk scarf with flower and leaf patterns on it. The scarf was so soft and comfy, she could just sink straight into it and take a nice, long nap... but she was immediately woken by Custard Cookie III, whose joyful laughter from receiving a small and tiny crown from Y/N was the most innocent sound that anyone would ever hear.

"Hehehehe! Thanks so much Y/N! As your king, I hereby bestow upon you the title of Royal Gift Giver!" The young boy's loud and happy exclamations warmed his friends heart, as Y/N bowed and responded, "Very happy to accept your gift, Your Majesty!" as she laughed.

Wizard Cookie received some green beans. Yes, green beans to experiment how plant growth worked in the human world, and his curiosity was piqued.

"My my! How intriguing, I've never seen such... large seeds on Earthbread before!" he said, while slowly examining the green bean seed in his hands. It was half his size! Though he was pretty small for a cookie... However, his thirst for knowledge was much, much larger than his size.

As for Gingerbrave, Y/N had given him a tiny camera. Well, a camera that was the same size as him. It was also surprisingly light for him to carry around!

(You guys know that one Fujifilm tiny instant camera? Yes, it's that one.)

"It's meant for you to document your memories," explained Y/N, as she taught Gingerbrave how to use it.

The photos were almost as big as the cookies themselves, but that made them even happier as they got to see the smiles of their friends in a single photo.

"Thanks Y/N!" the five of them exclaimed, the girl almost sparkling with joy as the cookies headed home.

"Alright, about time I go take a shower..."

Apologies for the short and very delayed chapter! I forgot to publish this TwT and only realised when I opened my laptop to write Chapter 7... I'll get back to your requests soon, don't worry about me!

Chapter 12: Chapter 7

Summary:

Water-type cookies?!

Chapter Text

Waterboarded.

That was the first thing that Y/N felt that happened to her the moment she stepped into her house after a long day of school. She opened her eyes again, feeling the water dripping off her fringe as she looked at the inside of her house, specifically the kitchen, which had water flowing off the counter, and cookies splashing in the tap water.

"WHAT THE FLICK!" she screeched, scaring the few water type cookies who were trying to figure out how to stop the sink as Y/N rushed over to close the faucet. She then turned her murderous gaze to the following cookies: Peppermint Cookie, Sorbet Shark Cookie, Candy Diver Cookie and Captain Caviar Cookie. The small group of cookies looked rather frightened (with the exception of Captain Caviar Cookie), but seeing the expressions on their faces calmed Y/N down. She breathed in and out to try not to break the fragile trust the cookies had in her, before opening her eyes once again.

The first thing she did was breath once again. Then she looked at the cookies before speaking, "Sorry about that... I just didn't like the feeling of getting water splashed onto my face like I was getting tortured," Y/N shuddered as she thought about the last time she was splashed with water like that.

Captain Caviar Cookie let out a hearty laugh upon hearing her words, and spoke up, "Eh, Don't worry 'bout that! So, I suppose you're the human every cookie is talking about back in Crispia, huh?" Y/N nodded, and the captain examined her with his eyes. He observed her rather... frail build, she looked frail but at the same time strong for some weird reason. In the meantime, Peppermint Cookie gazed at Y/N with awe, before asking in his soft voice, "You're the human right..? Will you tell me your stories?"

Y/N was overwhelmed with cuteness at Peppermint Cookie's request, and she nodded, "Alright. I can tell you some stories while the sink drains the water..." Sorbet Shark Cookie, was interested as he walked over to Y/N and said, "OOooooOooOoooo," The girl looked towards Peppermint Cookie for translation.

"They're saying they're excited to hear your stories," he answered calmly. Candy Diver Cookie, with a loud clank, sat down next to Captain Caviar Cookie, interested.

With a smile on her face and waving of her arms, Y/N told stories that originated from Earth. She told them the simple children's stories like Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Cinderella. She also told them horror stories (which scared everyone but Captain Caviar Cookie, who was even more in the interested side) and a few stories from other games and fandoms. Throughout this little storytelling session, Peppermint Cookie was fascinated, his eyes practically sparkling as Y/N told them her favourite story called "The Moon's Finality and Origin".

"Wow... I never knew human stories could be so cool!" exclaimed the young child. Y/N laughed as she looked over at the sink.

"Looks like the water's finished draining now, and it's getting pretty late," she remarked. Captain Caviar Cookie nodded, "Aye, that's right kid. It's about time we head home," Y/N looked at the small group of four, and waved to them as they left the human world. She sighed to herself, slumping against the couch.

"They're gonna bombard me with questions about the water bill..."

AND HERE'S THE CLOSING TO CHAPTER SEVEN!!!!!!!!!!! Very short and rather late, I know, but IT'S STILL DONE!!! I hope you enjoyed!

Chapter 13: Chapter 8

Summary:

Y/N meets Carrot Cookie and Beet Cookie!

Chapter Text

Summary: Y/N meets Beet Cookie and Carrot Cookie.

Y/N watered her rose plants, quietly humming to herself when she heard the familiar sound of the portal between her world and Earthbread opening. She turned around...

"AHHH!!!"

...and was met with a Beetroot Arrow to the shoulder.

"WHAT THE [redacted] IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" she screeched, scaring the cookies.

"Well now look at what you've done! You've gone and scared the living daylights out of the human! Now she'll probably eat us!" a voice with a thick accent spoke up.

A second voice, with a meeker tone compared to the first voice exclaimed, "I'm sorry! I accidentally pulled the trigger on my crossbow!"

Y/N shook her head, looking down at who the voices belonged to: Beet Cookie and Carrot Cookie, and then spoke, "Alright, calm down you two! No more arrow shooting and no eating each other going on around here! I'll introduce myself to you guys. The name's Y/N,"

Likewise, the two cookies introduced themselves. Y/N's eyes were sparkling as she laid her eyes on Carrot Cookie, who helped to carry her account in her early days of playing Cookie Run: Kingdom. She squealed, "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!! YOU AND YOUR CARROTS WERE SO USEFUL WHEN I FIRST STARTED PLAYINGGGGG AHHHHH!!!!"

Carrot Cookie, when hearing this, looked at Beet Cookie and smirked (the gingerbrave smirk PFFT-).  Beet Cookie did not even take notice as she felt her stomach rumble. Y/N quickly noted her hunger, and recalled that Beet Cookie was always feeling hungry, no matter the time of the day and where. She quickly walked to the fridge, asking the two cookies, "Hey, what do you guys eat anyway?"

"Jelly Roasted Meat, Carrots, crops in general..." Y/N listened as the list went on, and fished out some baby carrots and lettuce from the fridge drawer. Grabbing a small plate, she cut up and arranged the food in a nice fashion before handing it to the cookies.

"Hopefully this works! Dig in!" Y/N smiled as she served up the food. She saw Beet Cookie's eyes sparkle as the hungry cookie picked up a piece of carrot and started chewing.

"Om nom nom..."

Carrot Cookie took the chance to talk to Y/N about crops and farming systems in the human world while Beet Cookie was eating, and Y/N happily obliged, telling Carrot Cookie all about how irrigation systems and farming has always been in integral part of human society and functions. The conversation grew to include Beet Cookie as it turned to human foods and culinary skills.

Eventually, they finished up the plate of vegetables and the two cookies were ready to go home... Y/N, as always, was sad to see the cookies go, but all good times must come to an end. She smiled and waved at the pair as they went through the portal, and settled herself down onto the sofa in her room.

"Phew... what a day. Wait... school starts next week?!"

End of Chapter! A short chapter before Christmas tomorrow, and I'll post a Christmas Special sometime in the evening! See you guys!

Chapter 14: Christmas Special!

Summary:

Here we go!!! It took me a while, but hope you enjoy!

Chapter Text

It was that time of the year.

The point of the year where everything and everyone went batshit crazy.

The week of Christmas.

Y/N did not necessarily dislike Christmas. Instead, she just didn't like bothering herself with the hassle of buying presents for everyone else, though she did like receiving money as her present since nobody even knew what to get her in the first place. She sighed as she put up the ornaments on her tree, and just as she was about to hang the silver star above the highest bough, she heard chattering. Was it the cookies?

Y/N made her way to the kitchen, finding a rather large group of cookies coming in through the window. She gasped at the unexpected but welcome guests, smiling as the cookies greeted her with various smiles and cheerful "hellos", and Y/N happily welcomed them into the house.

Within plenty of time, they were all having a blast. The Ancients were gathering together again, chatting and bonding while Y/N kept the littler cookies entertained, allowing them to climb on her shoulders and head. Pancake Cookie often jumped off from Y/N's shoulder to do a little flying, while Strawberry Crepe Cookie often asked Y/N about the human body and it's functions.

In the meantime, Y/N had also left the sink plugged and filled so that the water-type cookies could splash around and play. Sorbet Shark Cookie even made a raft out of popsicle sticks, sailing with Peppermint Cookie and Captain Caviar Cookie. Surprisingly, Black Pearl Cookie even called a truce, only occasionally scaring the cookies in the water as she giggled and laughed in a very... maniacal fashion. Sea Fairy Cookie hung out with Moonlight Cookie for the first time in years, as they both sat near the basin and talked. Whatever they were talking about, Y/N didn't really want to know.

The Faerie Cookies were at one corner of the table, where Y/N had set up silvery little spangles for them to work around and play with. Elder Faerie Cookie, in the meantime, was with the Ancients, talking and enjoying their (read as White Lily Cookie's) company. On the other side, closer to the window, the Dark Cacao Kingdom's cookies were laughing and having fun for the first time in what seemed like forever. Crunchy Chip Cookie let his Cream Wolves go for a run across tabletops and mess with other cookies, while Caramel Arrow Cookie enjoyed the scenery outside of the window, which was a sky full of stars and the trees gently rustling in the breeze.

The Hollyberrians were partying like there was no tomorrow. They drank berry juice to the extreme, and Y/N even had to give them top ups of fruit juice. Wildberry Cookie stood off to one side, making sure that all of the cookies were safe and did not fall off any potentially dangerous areas. Princess Cookie was bonding with Strawberry Cookie, recounting their adventures in the Hollyberry Kingdom about three years ago. Knight Cookie often dueled whoever he deemed worthy enough to fight, the blades clashing as they played it fair.

The cookies of the Vanilla Kingdom were provided with raisins for them to enjoy by Y/N. And raisins in the human world are much, much bigger than any raisins in Earthbread. Black Raisin Cookie enjoyed watching the villager cookies gasp and marvel at the raisins, before they started chowing down on said raisins. Meanwhile, the Creme Republicans were observing technology from the human world, and some cookies like Oyster Cookie and Mulled Juice Cookie were reading books on the tabletops, with the books being many times bigger than themselves even! Clotted Cream Cookie decided to take the time to bond with his mother, and the small family of two enjoyed what valuable time they had before they needed to return home.

Maniacal laughter sounded out from the power box at the side of the table... it was the Golden Cheese Kingdom's cookies! They were experimenting with the spare wires, magnets and lightbulbs that Y/N left for them to use. The lightbulbs were barely even bigger than them, and Burnt Cheese Cookie watched all this with a smile as Mozzarella Cookie curiously tried to figure out how lightbulbs worked. Smoked Cheese Cookie in the meanwhile, was her unruly and unwilling assistant, but he enjoyed twisting the copper wires to make figures of wild beasts and animals.

However, Y/N busied herself with a certain group of cookies... the Beast Cookies.
(I'll be including only the beasts we have met, sorry Eternal Sugar and Silent Salt fans...)

"Wait wait wait, you can't destroy that!" Y/N shouts of worry often were meant for Burning Spice Cookie as he raised his axe to break a glass cup. Y/N quickly gave him some tissues to tear and destroy while she looked for her supply of non-Newtonian fluid, which she had lying around the house for some reason. When she found it, she gave it to Burning Spice Cookie, who wondered why, despite the hardest hits with his axe, could not destroy the matter, which gave him a bigger fighting spirit.

Shadow Milk Cookie was spending his time trolling other cookies, but Y/N mostly made sure his pranks weren't on children and the pranks weren't too unhinged. She often got a laugh from a successful joke or trick of Shadow Milk Cookie's, as he glided around the area.

Y/N spent most of her time talking to Mystic Flour Cookir to gain knowledge of Ancient Earthbread from back when the Virtues ruled. The sheer fascination and all of Mystic Flour Cookie's stories, told from an unbiased perspective, really made Y/N interested and even more invested in the world of the cookies.

However, all good things had to come to an end. It was getting late, and the cookies helped with the cleanup before they had to leave.

"Bye bye Y/N! We'll see you again soon!" exclaimed Pancake Cookie.

"Thank you for having us over!" yelled out Gingerbrave.

When all the goodbyes were said and done, Y/N turned to the Ancient Cookies, who were loitering behind for a chance to speak with her.

"I must admit, I am impressed with how you handled the little ones," said an amused Hollyberry Cookie. Y/N blushed at the compliment.

"I wholeheartedly agree. And besides, you taught my warriors how to relax, even for a short while," added Dark Cacao Cookie.

"Indeed. For that we give you our gratitude, thank you so much for being such a welcoming host," said Pure Vanilla Cookie.

"Haha! My citizens were impressed by your technology! Perhaps we'll visit again to learn more," laughed Golden Cheese Cookie.

"All we have to say is 'thank you', Y/N. We couldn't have had a better Christmas," closed White Lily Cookie, as the Ancients stepped into a portal. Y/N said some final words to them.

"No, but thank you all too. You all showed me what it was really like to spend time with friends. Friends who I'll consider family."

The portal closed and Y/N suddenly felt the exhaustion hit her. She laughed from the sheer joy she felt today, as she headed for a shower, and then crashed into bed, ready to sleep.

Chapter 15: New Year's Day

Summary:

Happy New Year everyone! Made this short story to bring 2025 to a good start!

Here's a little short poem for you guys:
The shining world, it glows with radiance, so never forget that
The living world, it’s brimming with life in it, so never forget that
You will never be alone, don’t forget that too
And never forget your passions

Chapter Text

Y/N sat in her kitchen, watering the flowers as she watched out for the clock to strike midnight. Soon, it would be 2025, and the Shadow Milk update would be out!!! She smiled excitedly, putting away her watering can as she headed to the kitchen, half expecting a group of cookies to step through the window.

The clock struck midnight, and Y/N's phone was beeping with messages of "Happy New Year!" from friends and family. Y/N did not even bother to leave them on read, instead daydreaming about if the cookies came.

However, she let out a sigh, knowing full well that they would not show up today, as most cookies would be gathering with their friends and family, right?

Y/N was oh-so-wrong about that.

The familiar sound of the portal opening sounded out, as Y/N saw the original starter team step out of the portal.

"Happy New Year, Y/N!" shouted out Gingerbrave, as he ran over to the human girl, whose eyes were wide open with shock. Strawberry Cookie spoke next, "Yeah, Happy New Year! It's gonna be a brand-new year full of adventures for us, right?"

Wizard Cookie came up next, "I'm sure that we'll all gain some semblance of new knowledge! However, I digress. Custard Cookie III, tell her why we're here!"

The young child smiled and readily nodded, excitedly speaking, "We came to celebrate with you! We noticed that whenever we came around, there was always no one here... so we thought we'd make you smile today!"

Chili Pepper Cookie awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck as she spoke up, "Besides... you're like family to us. Ever since we first stepped into your world, you've been nothing short of welcoming for us..."

The five cookies looked up, noticing Y/N's odd silence. It was only then they realised...

Y/N, the ever cheerful, ever grinning caretaker they knew, was crying.

"Y/N!" they all cried out in concern, running towards her as she broke into sobs. Custard Cookie III was the first to ask, "Why're you crying?!"

Y/N was not just crying. She was ugly sobbing. Tears streamed down her face as she felt her trembling, breaking heart be filled with the warmth that the cookies provided her. Her tears overflowed, as she let out a strangled sob that she knew she could never hide from them. It took her a lot of strength as she slowly opened her mouth, stuttering as she spoke.

"T-Thank you... *hic*, you have... no idea... how much this means to me..!"

The cookies did her best to give Y/N a hug. She sobbed loudly, crying out all of her tears. Their embrace was warmer than any hug that any human could possibly give her. It was like... among the cloudy and rainy sky that was Y/N's life, the cookies' warmth was clear amidst the rain and thunder, and it only made her heart break even more.

It was safe to say, the New Year was off to a good start.

Chapter Text

Trigger Warnings for this chapter:
Mentions of war, bombs, weapons and violence.

The school year has begun! Y/N was exhausted as she finally came home at around 7.30 pm, tossing her History textbook onto the table and nearly crushing a certain group of cookies she didn't notice.

"DUCK!" yelled out Clotted Cream Cookie, as Oyster Cookie and Mulled Juice Cookie heeded his words. It was only then Y/N's eyes widened as she ran towards the cookies.

"OH SHOOT I'M SO SORRY I DIDN'T SEE YOU THERE OHMYGOSHI'MSOSORRY- !" Y/N spoke at rapid speeds as she panicked, apologising over and over again to the cookies, who were still recovering from the shock of having a book several times heavier and larger than them thrown in their direction.

Y/N was on the verge of sobbing as the cookies tried to reassure her. "No worries, it's alright. Everyone makes mistakes," said Oyster Cookie. Mulled Juice Cookie in the meantime, was examining Y/N's human body, mumbling words of awe and wonder. Clotted Cream Cookie nervously laughed and introduced Y/N to the elder.

"Y/N, this is Mulled Juice Cookie, one of the other elders of the Cremé Republic."

Staring at Elder Mulled Juice Cookie, Y/N seemed to be deep in thought, until something occurred to her.

"I don't meant to be offensive, but aren't you like, a Hollyberrian Cookie? Like your aesthetic and dough flavour doesn't exactly match 'former Vanilla Kingdom' style..."

Mulled Juice Cookie, snapping up at Y/N's question, simply chuckled as he took her question well. He replied, "I'm surprised you noticed! Most of the republicans don't really figure out that my roots are Hollyberrian, nor do they ask. Well, since you've impressed me, I suppose I'll explain. When the Vanilla Kingdom was invaded, my ancestors from the Hollyberry Kingdom were visiting the prosperous nation, and they were taken onto the airship that arrived here. Hence, I'm a cookie of both kingdoms."

Hearing his explanation, Y/N had an "ohhhhh" moment. Mulled Juice Cookie then turned his attention to the History textbook that Y/N had thrown earlier. He then asked, "What's this? A book on this world's history?"

Y/N replied, "Actually, it's a book on this country's history. Wait let me explain..."

She went to grab a world map and put it onto the table for the cookies to see.

"This is Earth. Earth is the planet we're on right now. There's a few other planets but I'm not gonna explain that," Y/N placed her finger, painting to the green parts as she spoke, "These are the continents of Earth, where people and land-dwelling animals live. The green parts are ground while the blue parts are sea. There are seven continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, North America, Oceania and Antarctica," she continued, "People living in the respective continents are referred to as different names. There's Asians from Asia, Africans from Africa, European for Europe, South American for South America, North American for North America and I actually have no idea what people in Oceania call themselves... is it Oceanians?" Y/N wondered aloud.

Oyster Cookie, noting something that Y/N didn't say, spoke up and asked, "Pardon, but is there a name for people living in Antarctica?"

Y/N thought for a moment and quickly answered, "Well, there's not many people living in Antarctica. It's actually a frozen desert of the South. However, people who live there are called Eskimos I think... I'm not actually sure."

"Fascinating..." mumbled Clotted Cream Cookie.

Y/N pointed her finger to a part of the map and continued her earlier explanation, "The continent we're currently in is Asia. More specifically, Southeast Asia. We're in the smallest country here called Singapore. Anyway, back to the main topic at hand: my history textbook is mostly about Singapore's history."

Mulled Juice Cookie flipped over a page, opening the book as it came to a page on World War II and weaponry used by humans as Oyster Cookie and Y/N spoke to each other.

"Hey, human girl, what are these... 'tanks'?" asked Mulled Juice Cookie as Y/N looked over to him.

"Wait, wait wait wait wait. Let's straighten this out first. I have a name, and it's Y/N. Don't just call me 'human girl' or an 'it'," she spoke strictly, as if being called something other than her name and nickname offended her. Mulled Juice Cookie, listening to Y/N's explanation, nodded and apologised.

"My mistake, Y/N. Pardon my uncouthness, I'd like to ask what are these heavy machinery in your book?"

Mulled Juice Cookie pointed to the open textbook, with the page open as he referred to the chapter on heavy weapons. Oyster Cookie and Clotted Cream Cookie also walked over; their curiosity piqued at the mention of "machines". Y/N's eyes lit up, and she began to get extremely excited when it came to talking about history.

"Oh! These are weapons commonly used in militaries from back in the 1940's," Y/N pointed to the dark green tanks on the paper as she elaborated further, her eyes sparkling with excitement and wonder.

"These are called 'tanks'. They carry people inside and are basically weaponized vehicles to travel through jungle and field environments. Some of them are modified to suit the battlefield they would be used on, while others are modified to carry more equipment."

Clotted Cream Cookie's interest was caught by Y/N's explanation, but a question quickly popped up in his mind. He parted his lips to voice it out and asked, "Y/N, mind explaining why there was such a need for such... advanced weapons?"

His question made the other Elders agree as they looked to the human girl, her expression falling as she opened her mouth to speak.

"Well... this is going to take a while to explain... I better sit down for this."

Y/N settled onto a nearby stool as she sighed and spoke, "What I'm about to tell you might be shocking, and you might need some time to process. Are you guys sure you want to hear all this heavy stuff?" The Creme Republicans nodded as Y/N exhaled again.

"Basically, back in 1939 which was about... 91 years ago, I think. There was a war. A war on such a large scale that took place in four out of the five continents that people lived in at that time, with many many countries involved. A guy whose name I cannot mention allied his country, Germany, with another country called Japan. They started a war that shaped history over the course of six years, and the war ended in 1945, when Japan surrendered after both their major cities were bombed."

Y/N paused, letting the information sink in for the cookies before she continued, captivating the three of them with the story.

"Bombs are not the kind you've seen with fireworks... these bombs are stronger. Way, way stronger. They're the kind that can obliterate your entire city in a minute and it's nothing like uncontained Soul Jam power either. Even after destroying the place, it can still make the whole area it landed on uninhabitable. There would even be mutations, like animals having two heads and rotted skin, illnesses, and much more."

Oyster Cookie's eyes were wider than the pearls that her House collected, as she took in a breath while processing the information.

"So, you're saying that even fragments of Soul Jam... are nothing compared to these bombs?"

Y/N nodded as she replied, "They're called Nuclear Bombs. And their destructive capabilities come from Nuclear Energy, which in itself is full of toxicity. I can explain another time about how Nuclear Energy is toxic and how it caused so many disasters, but we'll focus on the World War for today."

Mulled Juice Cookie, Clotted Cream Cookie, and Oyster Cookie listened intently was Y/N continued on how the World War went, from when Germany rose to power, started the war, how in Asia, Japan was dominating that side of the world while America, England and Australia fought back. Y/N then went on to explain how military sciences worked and why there were specific units for them, before finally going on to the present military technology.

"Nowadays, it's even more advanced. Nuclear Bombs are mostly in the hands of... particularly powerful nations. We call them 'nukes' for short. Also, we also have vehicles that travel underwater called 'submarines'. Submarines launch torpedoes underwater at speeds almost as fast as one sixth of how fast sound travels."

The information kept coming, and Y/N was tired out. Even Clotted Cream Cookie looked exhausted as he spoke, "How fascinating. It seems even another world is not as perfect as it seemed to be..."

Oyster Cookie nodded, "I agree. However, it is simply impossible for anything to be truly and completely perfect."

Mulled Juice Cookie then turned to Y/N as he spoke, "Thank you so much for sharing information on your world with us. We'll try to avoid the same mistakes..."

Y/N nodded, sad to see the cookies go again.

"It was nice meeting you all again and seeing new faces too!" she smiled as the cookies waved goodbye to her and stepped through the portal.

"Until we meet again, Y/N!" shouted Clotted Cream Cookie.

As the portal closed, Y/N turned to her calendar, staring at the dates with a blank gaze as she crossed out the next one. Just a few more weeks until her parents come back... and everything would likely fall apart once again. The life she built and the relationships with the cookies though... that was all Y/N didn't want to lose.

Chapter 19: Chapter 10

Notes:

Sorry for posting so late AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I FORGOT ABOUT THIS BOOK! Also there was a medical emergency but I'm okay now! I'll make a part 2 of this chapter soon!

Chapter Text

Y/N stared at the calendar, a dead expression on her face as she saw the date her parents would come home. She had quite a lot of questions running through her mind, but the main one was "How am I gonna keep the cookies a secret?"

She decided to take a break from mulling over and headed off to the kitchen for a glass of water. As Y/N poured out her water, she felt a sudden chill in the air and watched her water freeze. Y/N looked over to the window, where Frost Queen Cookie stood. Her eyes widened and the two stared at each other for a good minute, before a different voice called out, "Frost Queen Cookie, have you found the human yet?".

This one was familiar, it sounded like a firm breeze that rustled through tree leaves, as Wind Archer Cookie stepped out. Y/N's eyes could not physically grow bigger, but they did when she saw Moonlight Cookie and Sea Fairy Cookie step through the window. Black Pearl Cookie then emerged from the sink, a coy smile on her face. One by one, Y/N watched the Legendary Cookies (minus Fire Spirit and Millennial Tree as they weren't released yet) step through the window. Stormbringer Cookie let out a hearty but childish laugh as she looked around the kitchen.

"My, my! So, this is a human place, eh? Wasn't expecting this!" she laughed out, floating around the area. Y/N's jaw could only hang in shock as Moonlight Cookie got onto her crescent moon, floating to Y/N's face and speaking in her calm voice, "Hello. You're Y/N, I assume?"

Y/N nodded and replied to Moonlight Cookie, "Yes, and you guys are the Legendary Cookies?! I feel honored to host you all!!!"

Y/N's excitement was beyond the stars as she spoke with Moonlight Cookie. Meanwhile, Sea Fairy Cookie was keeping an eye on Black Pearl Cookie, who was experimenting with the water of Earth. Wind Archer Cookie was doing a patrol of the kitchen, and Frost Queen Cookie was observing how ice was frozen.

"I see, so your world has Astrology too? Interesting," Moonlight Cookie was intrigued by Y/N's description of the star-reading art. Y/N nodded, going over to her bookcase and grabbing an old book on how stars are formed and whatnot.

"Actually, there are some tinfoil hat theories out there that the skies and stars in our solar system are fake and the universe is a lie, but that doesn't really matter," Y/N said in a dismissive tone, shrugging off the implications of the theory as the cookies listened.

Black Pearl Cookie, in the meantime, was causing chaos in the basin.

Time passed quickly, and Wind Archer Cookie was still barely conversing as each of the Legendary Cookies bonded with Y/N in their own way. By the time that it was time to go home, the moon was high in the air and Wind Archer Cookie was on Y/N's shoulder. The girl looked towards the sky, and asked the guardian, "Hey... what's it like to protect others?"

Wind Archer, in his ever quiet and stoic tone, replied, "It's fulfilling. To know that all life is safe after a day's worth of work."

Y/N mumbled, "Could never be me..."

Her worlds would make Wind Archer Cookie shake his head as he spoke, "No, you can be a protector in your own right. Whether it's something as big as my work, or as small as looking after your things."

Y/N nodded sleepily, about to make a sound of agreement before she fell asleep. Moonlight Cookie, finding that Y/N was in her dreams, whispered a soft blessing to ensure that she would have a safe and comforting dream as she raised her staff to open the portal between the two worlds.

Sea Fairy Cookie was the last to leave. Turning back to face Y/N, who was now sleeping in her bed, the frost deity said, "Farewell, child. Sleep in peace."

Hi guys, sorry the next chapter is so delayed. I was busy with exams and lots of irl things.

Now that I'm back though, I'm here to announce there's a spinoff to Memories of My Dreams!!!

This spinoff basically follows Y/N's journal from before she met the cookies, and you can read into why she has slight mental issues and her mindscape as of before the story.

The spinoff can be found on my profile and is called "Memories of My Dreams: Journal."

Hope you guys enjoy!

Chapter 22: Chapter 10.5

Chapter Text

Here we are, part 2 of Chapter 10! So sorry for updating so late, I was focussing on my other book "Untitled Hope" because it received lesser updates than Memories of my Dreams! Anyway, I'm back now with the second half of the Legendaries chapter!!!

The golden light of the morning sun filtered through Y/N's windows as she stirred in her bed. Wind Archer Cookie, noticing Y/N was now awake, leapt down from his vantage point at Y/N's windowsill as she slowly sat up.

"Did you have a good rest?" he asked, the same stern expression on his face. Y/N sleepily nodded as she cleared her mind's sleepy fog. Stumbling out of bed, she looked at her phone screen and sighed in relief as it was Sunday. Looking at Wind Archer Cookie, a small question formed in her mind as she parted her lips to ask her question.

"Didn't you go back with the others last night? How come you're still here?" asked Y/N, as she turned her head to focus on him. Wind Archer Cookie walked closer to her and replied, "I simply thought you needed a guard tonight, since you were so exhausted. And someone needed to keep an eye on Black Pearl Cookie," he gestured to Black Pearl Cookie, was floated over to Y/N.

"I simply wanted to thank this little human for hosting us, nothing more," hissed out the mermaid, as she floated over to Y/N.

"Though I do wonder... why let us in? Why let a monster like me in?" she questioned as Y/N looked at Black Pearl Cookie.

Y/N replied, quiet as ever, "I simply believed you just needed kindness. I read about your betrayal, and I just thought... you needed a little bit of light in that dark abyss of your heart."

It was at this moment, Y/N knew she messed up.

Black Pearl Cookie screamed and shifted to her gargantuan form, about the size of Y/N's head as soon as Y/N had mentioned the betrayal that made her like this, and Wind Archer Cookie was struggling to hold Black Pearl Cookie back as she snarled and spat out curses at Y/N, who was calmly standing there while trying not to shrink away from the sheer aura of fear Black Pearl Cookie was emitting.

"HOW DARE YOU!" she screeched, raising her scepter against Y/N as Wind Archer Cookie pulled her back. Y/N was just about to flee when the portal opened and Frost Queen Cookie intervened, freezing the water around Black Pearl Cookie. With a wave of her staff, Frost Queen Cookie sent Black Pearl Cookie back to the Duskgloom Sea.

"Apologies for her behaviour, child," coldly stated Frost Queen Cookie as Y/N was desperately calming down. Frost Queen Cookie sighed and walked over to Y/N, placing an ice cold hand on the girl's finger.

"It's alright, she can't hurt you anymore."

Those words made Y/N nod as she sat down to process. Wind Archer Cookie and Frost Queen Cookie moved over to the table as Y/N spoke.

"I never intended to set her off, I was just trying to be... a nice person," those words made Wind Archer Cookie nod as he replied, "It's alright, Black Pearl Cookie tends to get set off by a lot of things. Don't take it personally."

Frost Queen Cookie offered some comforting words of her own, "The guardian of wind is right, child. She's unstable, so don't take her harsh words to heart."

Y/N nodded again, as the two legendary cookies decided to leave to let her process. Wind Archer spoke up, "It's time we leave. I believe I've left the forest for far too long."

Frost Queen Cookie agreed, "Yes, and the ice castle needs me. Take care of yourself child, we'll see you once more someday."

"Okay," Y/N replied, waving off the two cookies as they went through the portal. She turned back to look at the sink where Black Pearl Cookie had unleashed her rage and shuddered.

"I hope there's no form of dark magic left in there..."

That's the end of the chapter, folks! Sorry for not updating so soon, I had writer's block and exams... anyway, if I forget your request, please drop it down in the comments again (though not so often) to remind me! Also, to those of you who requested meeting the beasts, I'd say you gotta wait until maybe chapter 15ish, since Y/N needs to cope with her current trauma.

 Thanks for sticking around everyone!

Chapter 23: 10k on Wattpad and 3k on AO3!!!

Chapter Text

Okay, first of all:

I 100% did not expect this little drabble of mine to hit 3k reads here on AO3 (where I’m a pretty new writer) let alone be popular! Thank you all so much for supporting me on my writing journey!

As a thank you for hitting 10k reads on Wattpad as well as 3k on AO3, I will hold a Q&A. Everyone can ask a question, whether it’s about my books, about me or something else. If the question gets too personal though, I will not answer.

(too personal is asking for my real name and that’s it)

I’ll also be putting this up on Wattpad, and the questions asked will be answered by next week.

Thank you!!!

- Creme.

Chapter 24: Why I have been on an unannounced hiatus

Chapter Text

Cross-posted on the journal spin off for those who are too lazy to read that. Anyway, here's how why I've been on hiatus in fictionised form. I was too tired to add the cookies in here too, btw.

'If she finds this, I'm cooked.'

I thought to myself as I typed out the email on the bus. Jane glanced at me, nodding her head as if she could read my thoughts. She then spoke quietly, "God helps all of us involved when she finds out one of us snitched."

How did this all happen? Let's go back to 22 September 2025...

That was one of the most horrible days of my life.

It seemed just like any other day, though she seemed more cheerful. I could not put my finger on it. That girl had always seemed so upset and miserable, why was she so happy? Did it have to do with the countdown on her social media?

Anyway, what mattered was that she was in a better mood than usual. I was happy for her. 'Maybe she was getting better' I thought. I was so, so very wrong.

Later that day, I saw her crying on the bus. She saw me and looked so mad. I wondered what I did wrong. I went on with my day as usual.

The next thing I know, at dinner, I was checking my social media when I saw a rant post on her social media about some people forgetting her birthday despite the countdown. The realisation hit me like a truck sending an anime protagonist to another universe.

She was crying because of me. I had forgotten her birthday.

All I could do at the moment was send her an apology message. I wrote it as sincerely as possible, and promised to get her a gift, but when I received her reply, expecting an 'okay' or something else slightly neutral, the bright screen displayed her message:

"i don't care anymore."

My life would be flipped upside down by this, I just did not know it then.

Over the next few days, she began to ignore me again. That was pretty normal, considering her behaviour when she was mad at me. However, something about this anger was... different, in a sort of sense. This one was angrier, more dangerous.

I ignored it like the stupid fool I was.

Day two of her anger, she gave me her two most precious keychains. That was when I knew something was wrong. However, I did not grasp the exact magnitude of how horrible the situation was at that point. I assumed she loved the characters on the keychain and just knew something was off, so I went to her best friend/crush.

"Xing, she just gave me this. I think something's wrong," I spoke quietly, trying to be discreet. Xing looked at me, and her gaze at the keychains made me realise she recognised them. Her eyes widened as she spoke, "I gave her those for her birthday last year. She loved them. Why would she give it away?"

My heart almost stopped at this new connection. If the keychains were from her crush and were of her favourite characters, this meant they were practically impossibly valuable to her. Why would she give them to me of all people? Is she not mad at me?

Xing spoke to me again, "Willow, I think we should be worried. We both know that she's depressed, isn't she? Then..."

Another revelation. Another shock. Another worry.

This was not good. Concern began to rise up and I spoke quietly, "You don't think..?"

Xing nodded and replied, "Perhaps we should look into it."

Xing's words made me confirm my suspicions. This was not good at all. I could not stand the thought of losing another friend, what if I lose her? I don't think I'll ever be able to move on.

Consumed with worry, I decided to hold onto the keychains for now, slowly deducing what I thought she was feeling. I went through the motions of my next few classes, thinking about this problem I caused.

After school, I headed to the library to study with my junior. K.n noticed the new keychains and said, "Hey, where'd you get those from? They're pretty cute."

I forced a smile, trying to reply without my voice cracking, "A friend gave them to me just now." Deep down, I knew that it was more meaningful than what I said it would be.

After teaching K.n mathematics, she said to me, "Hey, the keychains seem important to you." Nodding, I smiled and explained, "They are, but I haven't spoken to her for a while." K.n tilted her head in curiosity, speaking quietly, "Oh, okay. Why, though?"

Hesitation was my first reaction, but I thought to myself, 'Surely it won't hurt to tell her, right?' And so, I told K.n about how I had forgotten her birthday and explained why she was mad at me. My junior nodded with an "ohhh" expression on her face. Upon finishing my story, K.n raised an eyebrow, remarking, "That's kind of unreasonable, y'know? Getting so mad over forgetting someone's birthday."

I shrugged and replied, "Well... I can't really control how she feels. It's fine though, it's fine."

After leaving the library, I headed to the staff room, in search of Ms Ruth. She was our year-head and in charge of basically everyone in my cohort. However... she was not around. Sighing, I decided to drop her an email when I saw Jane.

Jane was close to her, and so I hurriedly moved towards her. Jane waved and I greeted her.

"Jane, did you notice if she seems off today? Was she like... I don't know how to describe it but... yea." It was a weak attempt to explain, but Jane was swift to understand what I meant. She nodded, replying, "She was writing suicide notes to give to everyone if she died. How'd you know?"

Pausing, I weighed whether or not to tell Jane. She already knew the bulk of it anyway, so might as well. A brief explanation about the keychains and the conversation with Xing was enough to convince her to be concerned. And so, I walked out of school with Jane, discussing the matter as we boarded a bus and headed off together.

I told Jane about how I could not find Ms Ruth, and she suggested emailing her. We were quick to agree on the solution and whipped out our phones to type out a quick message to Ms Ruth. A short explanation would be enough.

'If she finds this, I'm cooked.'

I thought to myself as I typed out the email on the bus. Jane glanced at me, nodding her head as if she could read my thoughts. She then spoke quietly, "God helps all of us involved when she finds out one of us snitched."

Hence, that was how I got caught in deep shit.

The next day, I headed to school again, mulling over the critical situation. Ms Ruth had replied to my email yesterday, about 2 hours after I sent it. She said that she would speak to Jane and her about this. I told my best friend Londo about this too.

"It's not your fault," she said. Resting my head on my elbows, I replied, "If I hadn't forgotten her birthday, this situation wouldn't even have occurred. Therefore, it is my fault, Londo."

She rolled her eyes at me, and then grumbled, "Well, Xing is right. She's being unreasonable. We can't really do much about that, so we've got to tough it out."

Well, I could have toughed out the radio silence from her. However, this shit would only get deeper.

Science class. She did not show up. I assumed Ms Ruth was talking to her, so when my science teacher asked about it, I replied, "I think Ms Ruth is talking to her."

Holding out my hope was futile. The next tsunami of emotions would destroy me, inside and out.

When she came for Science, she had this look of a raging lightning storm, and sat down next to a blabbermouth girl. Then, she spoke, "Somebody fucking snitched on me."

My eyes widened, but I kept quiet, knowing I had to let the situation unfold by itself. Next thing I knew...

"Oh, you're already sitting right behind the snitch."

What?

I questioned myself, 'What the hell did I just hear?'

Whipping my head around, I quietly exclaimed, "Are you calling me a snitch?!"

The blabbermouth nodded. and she stared at me with increasing anger. I denied all allegations that they threw at me.

The stupid thing was, I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE THAT SHE WOULD TAKE THAT LITTLE SHIT'S FAT MOUTH SERIOUSLY.

Throughout the rest of science, they kept talking shit behind my back. I continued to write. When I turned around, she said, "Turn around again and I'll slap you."

I did not dare to move.

For the rest of the day, up until now that I am writing this, I have ranted to my friends, juniors and seniors who were willing to listen. I cried into Londo's arms, thinking this was my fault. Now that I write all this to consider and reflect on what happened today, I realised I need help myself. If she makes good on her threat, I have to rise above her and avoid slapping back. I will tell a teacher because that is meant to be the right thing. Plus, why would I waste a good slap on a stupid person?

And that is why I am on hiatus.

Thanks for reading.
