Chapter Text
“I find when one focuses on one task,” Sesshoumaru started but was cut off by her.
“I cannot do that, Sesshoumaru. I have 1 million and 1 tasks and thoughts to juggle. I have my mother, brother, and grandfather 500 years in the future. With them is my life as an average teenage girl with no powers, her only concerns are her grades and what boy she likes.” Her words were interrupted by a sharp intake of breath before her ramble continued. “Here I have a jewel that should not exist that is intent on corrupting any creature it can, sought by a singular soul that is corrupted by both the jewel and his own desires. Both jewel and soul will stop at absolutely nothing to reach their own desire, heedless of those they would hurt in doing so.
“Here I am a mother to a fox yokai child, a being anyone from my time would deem me insane for claiming he is what he is, who happens to be the Southern Lord. I have been claimed as pack member by your future daughter, heiress to your lands. A daughter who traveled through time, has reiki-like power within her. A yokai who is immune to my reiki!”
Kagome’s hands gesture towards the children in a hopeless movement before falling limply beside her in the dirt with a muffled thump. Her brown eyes sharp as she never once glanced away from him.
“A daughter who claims her father calls her mother ‘miko’ or ‘arrow’ when frustrated with her.” Kagome’s voice which had not been raised but had been steel softened to a wind’s whisper. If Sesshoumaru did not have his enhanced hearing he would have missed the last part entirely. “A daughter who is guarded by the completed Shikon No Tama, guarded by a Miko named Midoriko. A jewel that came from my body. A miko who I am reincarnated from.”
