Chapter Text
“Are you excited about becoming a halfa?” Kitty asked as Ember and her hung around Sam while Danny, Johnny, and Skulker went to raid the ice cream sundae station that Frostbite had somehow managed to conjure up.
“Hell yeah!” Sam beamed, “I’m anxious to know what my ghost form will look like,”
“Maybe it’ll be plant themed,” Ember suggested, “Because of that whole Undergrowth thing,”
“I’d think it’d be more similar to Danny’s ghost form,” Kitty shrugged, “Or something that complimented it well, like two halves of one piece, y’know?”
“That’s a cool thought,” Sam hummed before shrugging, “Well, whatever it looks like, I’m just really excited to finally marry Danny,”
Ember snorted, “You’re not the only one—pretty much the whole Ghost Zone’s been waitin’ on you two to get hitched!”
The goth laughed, “Yeah, I think you guys might be more excited about me marrying Danny than I am,”
The three girls laughed, enjoying the company and simply relaxing in each other’s presence.
~~~
“So,” Johnny leaned against the dessert table, “Marryin’ the goth, huh?”
“Was there ever even a doubt about that?” Danny bit into a chocolate chip cookie, “I’ve been thinking about it for what feel like forever, I’m just glad C-dubs finally pushed me into it or I would’ve panicked and never have done it,”
Skulker finished his drink, “Speaking of Clockwork—so you are his pseudo kid, his Core kid, right?”
“Yep,” The halfa popped the ‘p’ dramatically.
“What do Shooty and Blasty think about that?” Johnny snorted, “Pretty sure that’s what he’s getting at,”
Danny sighed, “They’re convinced that Phantom’s some kind of leech and I’m delusional or something like that—I didn’t really listen and Dan threatened bodily harm before they could really get into it.”
The two ghost boys winced.
“That’s tough, dude,” Johnny patted his shoulder, “Real tough, parents suck, I get it,”
Skulker awkwardly ruffled his hair; he clearly wasn’t great at this comforting thing, “You’re a good kid, don’t listen to them, they’re idiots,”
“They’re the dumbest people in this universe. Absolute morons,” the biker added helpfully.
“Yeah, and that’s coming from him,” The mechanical ghost snorted and jabbed a thumb in the other full ghost’s direction.
“Hey!” Johnny protested, “I take it back kid, Metal-Head is the dumbest, but they’re in a close second—real close!”
Danny laughed loudly, “Thanks guys,”
“No problemo,” Johnny gave him a thumbs up as Skulker nodded with a grin.
“Johnny!” The sound of Clockwork’s voice carried over, the three boys turning in the direction of its origin.
Clockwork was glaring at the biker as his shadow tore up the tablecloth, food smashed on the ground and drinks spilled messily.
“Control your shadow!” The Time Lord demanded.
Johnny grumbled, “Gotta go, see ya,”
“Maybe try to trade in for some good luck, dude,” Danny snickered.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re a riot,”
~~~
“I must admit,” Vlad swirled his glowing red wine in his glass, sipping on it gradually, “They make an adorable couple,”
Clockwork hummed, “That they do,”
They watched Sam and Danny dance with each other for a few more moments, laughing every time they bumped into someone else dancing or one of their feet got stepped on by the other.
The eldest halfa gave a small smile, “Cute,”
Clockwork turned to glance at his partner, “Care to dance, Vladimir?”
He held out his hand.
Vlad stared at it for a few seconds before a wide grin took over his lips, canines poking out, “Of course, my love,”
He took his boyfriend’s hand and was swept away to the dance floor.
Clockwork was an excellent dancer, Vlad was adequate due to business galas and fancy parties he had to attend back in the beginning of DALVco’s fame to get opportunities for investors.
However, he really couldn’t remember the last time he’d danced just to dance and have fun. Clockwork really had changed him, and his half-life, for the better. He never once regretted knocking on his clock tower’s door that fateful day.
“Eww, gross, old man love!” Tucker stuck out his tongue as Valerie dragged him onto the dance floor, “Ewww!”
Vlad zapped him with a small ecto-lasor from his pointer finger.
“Ow! Uncool, dude!”
Valerie huffed, “Quite teasing them and dance with me already,”
“I am dancing!” He protested.
“No, you’re flailing around,”
“Excuse you! I have wonderful dance skills!”
“Said no one ever,”
“I’m being bullied by my girlfriend!” Tucker whined, “And I can’t do anything about it ‘cause she can kick my ass!”
“Welcome to the club,” Vlad grinned as Clockwork pulled him to a less crowded area of the dance floor.
Tucker shivered, “Ew. I have something in common with Vlad. Gross.”
“Now that’s just rude,”

“I always knew Daniel would become something great one day,” Lancer told Pandora as they took a punch break (one glowing and one not) after dancing for awhile, “But I’ll admit, King of All Ghosts wasn’t on my mental list of possibilities before all this,”
Pandora laughed, “He’s full of surprises, isn’t he?”
“Oh, there was never a doubt about that,” The teacher chuckled as he sipped his punch, “I had a hero in my class and didn’t even know it!”
“A true hero is one not detectable by first glance,” Pandora told him, “but one who is recognized by his deeds,”
Lancer stood for a minute so what she said sunk in, “That’s a very wise thing to say,”
The Greek warrioress smiled, “Thank you, William,”
She bent down and kissed the man on the cheek, making him flush brightly.
“I knew it!” Johnny shouted from across the room and Lancer couldn’t even bother to shoot him a look as Pandora gave him a warm smile.

Walker sat in a comfortable chair and picked at a salad with his one hand and was holding a glowing green child harness-like contraption that had Maddie and Jack Fenton attached to the other end in the other hand.
“I am a grown woman,” Maddie hissed out, “Get this thing off of me! I can handle myself!”
Walker grunted, not gracing her with a word.
“You heard my wife!” Jack bellowed, “Unhand us, spook—!”
“Do you both want to go sit in the corner again?” Walker raised an eyebrow at them and they were silent.
“Well? Do you?”
They spoke at the same time, “No,” “Not at all,”
“Then behave yourselves,” The warden told them, mentally giving himself a reminder to pester Phantom to get him a raise once the little punk was king.
~~~
Once everyone had settled down somewhat, Danny and Sam took to the front of the room, standing on a raised platform—Danny getting all their attention via a small ectoblast in the air.
“I just want to thank everyone for coming here today to celebrate our engagement,” Danny smiled, “It means a lot to us, me especially, to see the alis and friends I’ve made over the years come together to celebrate.
“You all have done so much for me, and I thank you all for that indefinitely. The memories we have made together will be something I cherish for all of eternity and more. Whether those memories include riding motorcycles and completely illegal speeds—”
Johnny and Kitty waved and saluted at him.
“—sparing and prank wars—”
Vlad grinned as Clockwork rested his head on the elder halfa’s shoulder.
“—helping me expand my skills in both physical and mental ways—”
Pandora gave him a slight bow of the head and Ghost Writer even gave him a thumbs up.
“—or leading jail breaks from a very grumpy warden’s prison,”
Walker crossed his arms, but a small smile twitched at his lips.
“So I thank you,” Danny finished, “For everything. Sam and I have decided to have the wedding in a week, and everyone is invited! So please come, I promise there will be cake!”
“Deal!” Tucker shouted and the room erupted in giggles and chuckled.
“Cake for everyone except for Tucker Foley,” Danny corrected himself with a cheeky grin, “He gets carrots,”
“Book! Tyranny!”
The room erupted in laughs once again.
Sam held her drink up high, “To new and old friends alike, and to the bright future of the Infinite Realms!”
The ghosts and humans alike followed her toast, the ballroom filled with cheers.
“Can’t wait to marry you,” Danny whispered as he gave her a kiss on her forehead.
“Me too,” Sam smiled, resting her head on his shoulder as the both of them cherished the peaceful embrace they were in.
After all, wedding planning would start soon, and that was anything but peaceful.
