Chapter Text
“Tink, remember about a year ago you promised me a favor no questions asked if I helped to get Aquarius’ key back?” Lucy was not fooled by Erik’s nonchalant tone. She remembered that day keenly and has felt that anchor on her soul ever since. Had the time come for Lucy pay up?
“Yes.”
“As a favor, Kaleb and I would like you to be our surrogate.” Cobra chose the words carefully. At the time the deal had been made he’d had no intention of collecting, liked the idea of having that hang over his troublesome kin’s head for life. It wasn’t until Kaleb and he had gone through 3 rounds of interviews for a surrogate, each more disappointing that the last, that he’d told Kaleb his idea. Kaleb, unsurprisingly, agreed. Loved the idea of getting one over on his younger brother about as much as he was satisfied they could trust Lucy not to leverage the connection being their surrogate would give her. It also didn’t hurt that Tink was even sexier than she had been a year ago; sexual satisfaction looked good on her.
With Lucy promised to two men, one of them his husband’s brother, complicated things a bit but that was for them to figure out.
Lucy’s stomach dropped. She glanced at Freed and Vander and well, their reactions were complicated. Freed seemed surprised but intrigued. He’s wanted to start having children but Vander wasn’t ready. With only having a single year freed to explore what he wants to do and be Lucy and Freed both agreed to wait. They were all young and in no rush and he likely liked the idea of caring for a pregnant Lucy. Vander on the other hand looked constipated. It wasn’t the idea of sharing Lucy beyond Freed; they’d taken the occasional fourth, Presca the most frequent, but it was almost always on Vander’s terms and instigation. This wouldn’t be and it would limit the type of pleasure Lucy could share with her Promised at least until conception was confirmed.
“That’s not fair!” Vander sounded petulant and Kaleb’s serene smile turned into a wicked smirk.
“Erik couldn’t stand any of the women we’ve interviewed.” Kaleb shrugged.
“But we have a rule! No poaching each other’s serious partners and Pet is my Promised.” Vander looked around the room looking for ally only to be met with humor at his situation by his whole family except for Lucy, she looked to be more confused than anything else.
“Lucy may have to agree without question, but our options are not so limited my dear.” Freed interjected calming Vander. “Fiore has a delightful insemination program that we could insist on. It’s less effective in passing along the parents’ magic to the child but that’s hardly a deal breaker.”
And with that lines in the family were drawn and negotiations started in earnest. On one side there was team natural insemination was obviously Kaleb and Erik with Cristoff and Xally supporting them citing all the medical and magical benefits this option would entail. On the other hand, was Freed and Vander with Bickslow and Zen on their side as both brothers had been previously denied access to Lucy to share pleasure both because they were only interested in Lucy not the whole thruple; Zen was anti-men in general and Bickslow anti-sibling/anti-teammate. There had been no hard feelings but they weren’t going to stand around and let Erik and Kaleb take advantage of the situation to do what could not.
Arman, in his capacity as father and a reputed ambassador, acted as mediator with Farron and Emzadi looking on as spectators.
Lucy just looked on wondering how her life had come to this. She wasn’t opposed to sharing Kaleb and Erik’s bed for conception, she knew it was better for the child overall when mages were involved, but she also didn’t like the idea of Vander and Freed not being involved. They were her loves and to create a new life without that love involved offended her. The battle waged for hours before Lucy called everyone to a stop.
“Erik, I agree to act as your and Kaleb’s surrogate no questions asked.” They didn’t get a chance to indulge in their “victory” for long as she continued. “But not without demands. The insemination will be natural but every time Kaleb shares my bed Freed will be present and involved, same with Erik and Vander. While I am familiar with the literature for and against artificial insemination, I personally believe it has less to do with the act and more about the love involved in the act. While I love both Kaleb and Erik, it is a love that can’t be expressed through sex so I feel it would be no better than a doctor and syringe ‘knocking me up’. With at least one of my Promised involved in the act I believe we can achieve the best for the life being created. Agreed?”
Lucy glared letting her eyes meet each person in the room. This was her body and her wishes would be respected.
“Fine by me. If Kaleb is going to get his pretty hands on my partners I will at least get mine of his.” Vander sneered and wrapped himself around Lucy.
Kaleb rolled his eyes. You okay with that? He silently asked Erik. At the slight nod Kaleb agreed for them both. There was a light in Freed’s eyes that concerned him a little but the man was just as brilliant and attractive as Lucy so it would hardly be a punishment.
“Excellent. Now when shall you start!” Arman exclaimed, excited no blood had been shed, and for a grandbaby. Mostly for a grandbaby.
Lucy bared down, pushing as Xally coached her. “Just the shoulders left Lucy. You’ve got this!” The past 11 months had gone surprisingly well. With their pettiness finally set aside for the benefit of Lucy, Kaleb, Erik, Vander and Freed had decided on an interesting way to placate Lucy’s belief of the One Magic. If Lucy’s love for her partners should be considered so should Kaleb and Erik’s and Lucy never wanted to be the focus of that much attention. Four men tag-teaming her… there was such a thing as too much pleasure and she’d found it. Thankfully she’d only had to experience it once as they’d considerately timed it with her ovulation, thank dragon slayer enhanced senses. Her pregnancy had gone smoothly and with four men catering to her, well four men and most of the White Sea guild members in White Sea as she was carrying their GM’s child and everyone wanted to be part of the experience in some way. God bless Beck and Thane. Between those two they left very little for anyone else to do for her.
A baby’s cry sounded and Lucy slumped in relief. Her part, aside from breast feeding and pumping milk so the daddies got that experience, was down. Umbilical cord snipped, after-birth passed and the soothing healing magic of Cristoff flooded her tired body. Lucy smiled as the little boy was laid on her bare chest. He looked red, pruny and squashed like every newborn but his head had a shocking amount of thick platinum blonde hair and his back had white wing marks along his shoulder blades.
“I’m thinking I know who the godfather is going to be.” Lucy mussed eyeing Zen, breaking everyone out of their shock to surprised laughs and congratulations all around.
“Good job my love,” Freed whispered in her ear tenderly kissing her brow.
Vander smiled at the pair and wrapped them in his arms. “You know, I think I might be ready for one of those of are own when you are.” He pressed a kiss to her temple reveling in the huge smiles from them both. Yes, he was ready to expand their own little family.
“Aww but we wanted Luce to be our surrogate,” Natsu exclaimed tucked under his mate’s arm eyes dancing with happiness. He’d always wanted a family, had found it mostly in Fairy Tail but that paled in comparison with the support and love he’d found with Rowan. They took turns spending time at each guild, so he hadn’t even lost his relationships to those still in Magnolia.
“Us too.”
“Yeah, was going to wait to ask, but…”
“I mean in a couple years but if a waitlist is already starting…”
“Put me on there as well please.”
“Me too!”
“You’re not even promised Hestor!”
“I will be by the time my turn comes around.”
“Damn it Natsu, look what you started!”
Lucy looked around at the suddenly much more crowded room in disbelief as playful bickering broke out among those who couldn’t have children with their significant others or, like in Hestor’s case, didn’t expect to be able to, started vying for placement on a waitlist for her womb.
“You think they realize Lucy hasn’t agreed?” The humor in Freed’s voice was apparent.
“About as much as they see our Pet’s expression on their trying to turn her into a baby factory.” Vander quipped back.
“I shutter to think what this will do to her vanity. Remember the mirror incident?
“Oh dear. I guess we have no choice but to keep Cristoff close at least. Just in case.”
“You don’t think that might give him ideas, do you?”
“Oh, don’t mind me. No mate yet so she’s safe from me for at least a few years.”
“I hate you all.” Lucy pouted but couldn’t help the smile curling her lips.
