Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Chapter Text
You found yourself lying on the floor in your armor amidst enormous explosions nearby. As you got up, you saw a horrendous sky full of aliens. The Avengers, you thought, must be fighting Loki now. You are very worried as to how this will end.
Looking around, you see injured people scattered all around you. Without wasting any time, you spring into action and run to the first person you see - a man with his leg sitting at an awkward angle.
"May I help you?" you asked him. He quickly nodded in approval. You place your hand on his leg and head and begin to tend to his injuries. The man's injured leg and your eyes glow white. You feel as if something is getting sucked out of you. After a second or two, the man got up and thanked you. You now felt a searing pain in your leg, though nothing you couldn’t handle.
Without a second thought, the man jumps up and runs as fast as he can (which was now very fast, as his leg felt as good as new) to safety.
You do this until there isn’t a single person hurt in sight. Your body is aching all over now. You feel every single injury the people had. Even though you can’t see it, you are gravely hurt. By this time, the war was almost over. you saw Iron Man enter a portal leading into space. Oh shit, how is he going to land? you thought to yourself again, though you decided not to think of it more, since he should be a responsible adult.
In the meantime, you were making your way through the rubble to look for any more injured citizens. When there wasn’t anyone needing your assistance, you limped your way to the Stark Tower, or at least what used to be the Stark Tower. There, you see a blurred-out figure of a man dressed in black and green dragging himself across the floor. You limped your way over as fast as your body would let you without dropping on the floor.
“Are you alright, sir?” you asked. you couldn’t recognize anything at this point. You had become too exhausted for your eyes to see anything properly, forcing them open, not that it would have made much difference. “What are you doing you foolish wench?” Asked the man, in an offended voice. Although he was trying his best to mask the pain in his voice.
“Trying to help,” You say plainly. “So… Do you need my help?”
“Do you even know who I am? For all you know, I could have killed hundreds of people.” He says to you as if you were stupid.
“Does it matter who you are? If you are hurt it doesn’t matter how bad you think you are.” You say, now sitting down beside the man, as your legs get weaker by the second.
“I am Loki. I just failed to take over your planet, and you still want to help me? Why aren’t you scared of me?”
“Hi Loki, I am Y/N. You didn’t try to take over Earth. You were mind-controlled, though I suspect you already knew that. Now, are you hurt, yes or no?”
“Well, technically, yes,”
“Okay, that wasn’t hard, was it? Now, where are you hurt the most?” You say with a cocky tone.
“My chest,” Grunted Loki.
“Okay, could you put my hands on your chest, Loki?” You asked, handing him your hands.
He gently takes your hands and places them on his chest. He feels a sudden warmth spreading throughout his body, one he hasn’t felt in a long time. His face becomes fuller and healthier looking, his bruises start to disappear, and you can hear his bones cracking back into place. On the contrary, in an instant, you feel a cold feeling grow around your body. You only remember feeling like this a long time ago. At the same time, you experience the same feeling of something being pulled out of you. He closes his eyes as you continue to work on making him feel better.
Once you are sure he is feeling much better, you take your hands off of him. You hear him sigh in relief at how well he feels now.
“Why did you do that, and for me of all people?” Loki asked.
“B-because y-you’re innocent, and the innocent shouldn’t g-get p-punished… and I d-did t-this for everyone.” You fall down next to him, curling up to keep as warm as possible, rubbing your arms. This is not helping very much though.
“Hey!” Loki quickly sits up next to you. “Are you alright?”
“Y-yeah, a normal s-side effect when I use it too much.” You say as you start to shiver even more. You are just waiting to freeze at this point.
“Are you cold? Do you want my cape?” He asks, for the first time having some emotion in his voice other than anger, he actually has some worry. You nod, unable to put a single word together because of how much you are shaking.
“Hmm, much better, thank you.” You say with a sigh of relief when he places his warm cape over you. The shivering has now relieved itself a little. You can feel Loki rubbing his hands over your arms and back, trying to keep you as warm as possible. It was relaxing. You feel your eyes close. You haven’t been so relaxed in ages.
That’s when you hear footsteps stopping in front of you two, causing Loki to slow down.
“Are t-the Avengers p-pointing guns at us?” You ask.
Loki hesitates for a moment before answering, “Yes”
The Avengers are in fact staring down at your and Loki’s similarly gaunt faces
“Well, c-can’t say I’m s-surprised.”
“Y-yeah…” Instantly, the pain in your body peaked. you groaned with pain, loud enough to be a shout. You feel your muscles tighten to an excruciating level before you feel everything release.
Darkness.

Chapter Text
It’s completely dark, you are shaking from head to foot on the cold stone floor. You are trying to squish yourself as far into the corner of the room as possible. Corners are safe after all.
A big man with heavy steps walks into the room.
“Have you reconsidered your options?” He asks in a gruff strong voice. All you do is shake. “Pitty,” He says after a few seconds of waiting for a response. “Guards!” He called out into the distance. As he says that, two men stride into the room, back straight, and face facing forward all the time, in a very robotic way. They grab you by the arms, and without the energy to fight them off, you just let them pull you away, dragging your bloody feet across the floor. You already know what is coming for you.
They throw you into a metal room, the size of a cupboard. “Have fun in there.” says the gruff voice, slightly chuckling. Someone ties you down and injects something into your neck. Suddenly every inch of your body is suffering a blazing burn, every nerve goes on fire.
“PLEASE STOP, PLEASE!” you yell for help.
***
You wake up with a cold sweat covering your face. Opening your eyes is a mistake, as you are greeted with a blinding light. You hear the beeping of a monitor next to you. You try to move but you can’t, you start struggling with your binds. You start hyperventilating.
“LET ME GO! LET ME GO! DON’T TOUCH ME!” Start crying, begging for no one to touch you.
“Are you okay?” A soothing voice asked you.
At that moment, you didn’t know what you should do. You calm your movement a bit, though, at the same time, the question that the soothing voice asks was said in such a caring way. No one has ever said anything to you in such a way before. It was calming, warm, and safe.
“Can I touch you?” The voice asked.
At first, you are hesitant, but after a few moments of consideration, you nod. This man’s hands were cool and relaxing. Gently he runs his hand through your hair. Your rapid breathing now slows down to sharp hiccuping sighs. You can feel that with his other hand, he is undoing the binds.
“I’m sorry,” you say in a whisper.
“For what could you possibly be sorry for?” says the voice ever so gently.
“For being so weak,” You answer, tears rolling down your cheeks.
“Why would you be weak?” He asked.
“For crying, for showing vulnerability,” You say, more salty tears sliding down your rosy cheeks. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
“Hush now little one, don’t say such absurdity. You are just tired.”
At that moment, footsteps thundered around the glass dome. You jump at the sound of people shouting, scaring out more tears from your eyes. “Please don’t hurt me, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Loki embraces you in a warm hug, holding your head close to his chest. He sits on the floor, ensuring not to let go of you.
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER LOKI!?” One of the people shouted. You started to shake slightly at the shouting increasing in volume, more tears forming in your eyes.
“Won’t you shut up for once? Don’t you see she is scared? I did nothing to her.” He responded angrily, but not raising his voice. You are very thankful for that. You didn’t think you could take any more yelling.
“Let her go, Loki.” says another voice.
Despite the fact he was ordered not to hold you, he still grasped you in his arms, rocking you forward and backward gently. This returns you to your normal breathing. “I’m NOT letting her go.” You hear Loki growl menacingly at the people surrounding you. You are very thankful for this. Hearing his heart beating against your ear was very calming.
“Don’t worry little dove, you’re safe here. I won’t let anything happen to you. Now rest those beautiful eyes of yours.” Loki whispered into your ear gently, his breath tickling you a bit. At this, you feel reassured. You slowly close your eyes, drifting away, back into darkness.
***
Although they told Loki to leave you, not to touch you, he didn’t listen and continued to comfort you, even though you were in deep sleep.
After a day's worth of sleep, you slowly start to open your eyes.
“Well hello there sleeping beauty,” Loki says gently, a smile caressing his features. “Feeling any better?”
You nod. You yawn, having just had the best rest you’ve had in years.
“How long have I been sleeping?” You asked Loki, looking around for him, as you are not yet fully used to the beaming lights.
“Over here,” Loki chuckles a bit, grabbing hold of your hand, carefully massaging it, “You’ve been asleep for a day, you were very tired when you first woke up.”
“This must be the best sleep I’ve had in a very long time.” You say, smiling at him. He returned it, by giving you a huge smile, reaching from ear to ear.
“Where are we?”
“You’re in a clinical bed. In another Avengers tower.”
“They don’t think you’re innocent, right?”
“Of course not, why would they?”
“Because maybe they could give a crap to look at just two pictures.”
“I beg your pardon?” Loki says looking at you, doubt clear on his face.
“All I need to prove your innocence are two pictures of you, one at the attack, another now.” You see that Loki is still unsure of how that would help him.
You roll your eyes, still smiling, “If we look at a picture of you during the fight, we would see that your eyes are blue and blurry, instead of emerald green.”
Loki quickly stands up from where he is sitting and starts to wave his arms at a camera. Was he really using me this whole time? You thought to yourself. I wouldn’t have expected this from him, he seemed so nice. Confusion rises on you, until…
“HEY! HEY!” Loki started to say rather loudly, worry clear on his face. “WE NEED HELP! SHE’S BLEEDING!!” You put your fingers to your lips. You see a dense, shiny, dark red liquid, resting on your fingers.
“No… no, no Loki, this is normal. This always happens when I overdo things.” You say chuckling a bit, which turns into a cough.
Loki looked a bit less worried. At that moment, the Avengers barged into the room. You roll your eyes at the sight of them.
“Hey guys, don’t worry, bleeding has ceased, now let's talk business.” You say in a slightly mocking voice.
You see Bruce and Tony putting on some sterile gloves. You see them approaching you, as the others stay guarding the door.
“You better not put those filthy mitts in my mouth.” You told them, menacingly. They hesitate for a second, but then insert their fingers to investigate further the cause of the bleed.
“Hey! Stop!” You try to mutter, fighting against their arms. They are muttering to each other in a scientific blabble, the possible causes of the bleeding. You gently bite down on their fingers, causing them to pull their hands out. They look at you with disgust on their faces.
“Great, we have more pressing things to investigate than what is in my mouth.” You say looking at them as if they were stupid.
“Well then? What is it?” Tony was pressing on.
“Loki is innocent.” They all look at you for a second before breaking into fits of laughter, some of them collapsing on the floor.
“DO YOU MIND?!” You shout over all the clatter. “How about you stop laughing and let me explain before you judge me with rude comments.” You say to them, frowning at the floor. You were never known to be a very bold person, so this was already exceeding your limits.
They look at you, waiting for you to explain yourself. “Could someone put a picture of Loki during the fight and one now?”
“And how are we supposed to get a picture of Loki during the fight?” Steve asks you as if you were stupid.
“Well, with Tony’s Ironman helmet of course.” You say as if answering to a child. Tony looks at you in surprise as to how much you know of his suit.
“Jarvis, you heard her,” Tony says. Instantly, you see two pictures of Loki hovering in mid-air.
“You see, in the picture on the left, Loki has blue eyes, on the right, he has green.” You fling your arms to your sides as you prove your point.
“How do we know he’s not tricking us?” Natasha asks.
“Great question!” You smile at her. “Well if he were tricking us right now there would be a slight electromagnetic disturbance in the room right now, and I’m pretty sure there isn’t one.”
“No, there is none.” JARVIS pipes up.
Everyone looks at you with wide eyes as if you just solved something incredibly complex.
“Oh come on, it’s not that hard to notice!”
You put your arms down and look at Loki. He gives you a thanking smile.
“Can you now, umm, you know, take the chain off of him?” You ask with a small voice, your shyness betraying you.
Tony makes his way to Loki, puts in a code and the shackles drop to the floor.
Loki looks shocked at this and starts to rub his wrists where the shackles were placed.
You start walking towards the Avengers who stop you before you can reach the door.
“Where are you going?” Clint asks, eyeing you.
You start to get nervous as to why, not knowing what you did wrong.
“I think I would prefer to, you know, change out of the hospital gown.” You say pointing to the white plastic medical dress you have on.
“I can lend her some clothes,” Natasha says to Clint, shrugging as if to say she doesn’t mind.
Natasha escorts you to her room, where you are greeted with her warm smile as you enter in awe at how big her room is. You’ve never seen a better-looking room in your life.
“Wow!” You say when she opens her walk-in closet to reveal neat piles of clothes. She chuckles as she looks at your utterly stunned face.
“So,” Natasha turns to you, giving you a funny, mischievous look. “What’s your style?”
“Style?”
“Yeah, what kind of clothes do you like?” Her smile dropped slightly.
“I don’t know, I never got to experiment with this kind of stuff.” You say shrugging.
Natasha eyes you for a moment before she starts to speak again, “Where did you say you were from?” She asks you.
You stay put for a few seconds as you hesitate as to how to respond.
“How about a big shirt and some sweatpants?” You say, trying to dodge the question.
She looks at you in concern, before she changes her face into a calming reassuring smile.
She walks into her closet and pulls out what you asked for.
“This good?” She asks you.
“Perfect!” You say gratefully. She let you dodge the question this time, but you know it will cause a problem in the future.
You ask her to leave as you change into the fresh set of clothes.
***
It’s already the evening and the Avengers are all in the dining room getting ready to have dinner. You close your eyes as you breathe in the amazing smell of warm cheese pizza waiting to be eaten. You forgot how hungry you were, you couldn’t remember the last time you ate.
You look at Loki. He too changed into some sweatpants and a big shirt. He is eyeing the pizza with suspicion. You see that he starts to drool as he looks at it now as if it were the only thing in the room.
You see that Loki now looks away from the Holly pizza and looks at you. You quickly glance away and start to look up and down the wall awkwardly.
“Hey!” Loki says from behind you.
“Holly shit!!” You exclaim, not expecting Loki to be behind you.
“Geez! You scared me!”
“Sorry!” He says chuckling slightly.
You start to eye him suspiciously.
“How did you get from there to here?” You ask him, pointing to where he was before with one hand meanwhile with the other one pointing at the floor.
He chuckles again before answering, “I have powers as well you know.” He says smiling down at you.
“Okay, that makes sense.” You say shrugging and nodding at the same time.
“Let’s have dinner no?” Tony says to get everyone's attention to sit down at the table.
You and Loki sit down next to each other. Everyone starts having dinner, talking and laughing with each other.
“So where are you from?” Tony asks after some time.
You wait a few seconds but hear no response.
“Are you asking me?” You ask him.
“Well, we know where everyone else is from.” He stares at you shaking his head.
“Oh… sorry, umm…” You hesitate for a second as you try to recall where you used to live. Everyone stares at you, worry striking across their faces.
You look down at your feet trying to hide the tears that started to roll down your cheeks again.
“I’m sorry,” You say standing up from the table, leaving the room as your breaths start to shutter.
You find your way to the roof of the building.
“COME ON!” You shout to yourself as you slide down a wall and start to hit your forehead with the palm of your hand.
“YOU'RE SO STUPID, YOU CAN’T EVEN REMEMBER WHERE YOU LIVED!” You hear the door of the roof open. You quickly stop everything you are doing.
“Y/N, are you here?” You hear Loki.
You try your best to stay as quiet as possible, but you accidentally sniff causing you to reveal where you sat. You quickly wipe the tears off your face.
Loki looks down at you. You look up at him and see that his face looks sad.
“Sorry, I needed some air.” You say sadly.
“Don’t be, I understand.” He says, sitting down next to you, putting one arm around you, letting you lie down against his chest.
“You know the Avengers can help you find your parents, right?” he says in a reassuring whisper.
You look into his eyes, hopefully, asking him to help you.
He smiles in response and brings you to your feet.
“Come dove, let's go inside.” He says, gently.
When you guys start to go down to the dining room, you run into Steve.
He eyes you two for a moment before starting to talk, “Hey, so we are in the meeting room, come.” He says with a sweet smile.
You two follow him down. He brings you into a spacious room. In the center of it was a table. In front of it was a big screen, ready to be used.
You see all the Avengers inside, talking to each other. Thor looks at you, giving you a huge kind smile, waving at you. You chuckle and return the smile, waving back at him.
“Your brother is Thor right?” You ask Loki, turning to him.
“Yes,” Loki says surprised at the weird question, he raises an eyebrow in confusion.
“He doesn’t have powers like you do, does he?”
Loki looks at you confused and worried. “No, he doesn’t, where have you been living these past few years?!”
You turn away, starting your bad habit of chewing your thumb.
“Hello miss Y/N!” Says a sweet voice. You see it’s Thor approaching you. You look at Loki, you see him roll his eyes before you look back at Thor.
“Please, just call me Y/N!” You say happily, shaking your hands in front of your chest.
Thor gently takes one of your hands and lays a sweet kiss on it. You blush as he pulls away from your hand.
“That’s sweet!” You say, trying to hide your face in between your shoulders.
You can basically hear Loki roll his eyes.
“Sorry, it’s a habit of my brothers,” Loki says.
“It’s a nice gesture!” Thor counters.
“So Y/N, what’s your last name?” Thor asks you sweetly.
“Solace,” You say.
“Y/N Solace, that’s a very nice name.” He says to you, making you blush more before he bows his head to you and walks back to Tony.
You look at Loki who starts to mimic Thor mockingly. It makes you laugh at the silly faces Loki is putting on for Thor.
“Do you want a kiss from me as well?” He asks with a stupid voice. It only makes you laugh more. He breaks character and starts to chuckle with you.
“What?!” You hear Tony say loudly to Thor.
“Y/N Solace, as in the same Y/N Solace that went missing eleven years ago?!”
Loki realizes what they are talking about as well and looks down at you. The smile fades off of your face at his look and changes it for a neutral indifference.
“... It’s been eleven years?” You ask tilting your head to the side a bit and putting a confused look.
“Who took you?” Natasha asks, worriedly. Well, everyone was looking at you with worry.
“I was taken by… Him.” You say. You’re not able to say his real name, being too scared to use it. “Loki… Loki knows the name.”
“Wait, you don’t mean…” Loki starts. You nod when he doesn’t finish the sentence. He pulls out a chair and sits down rubbing his face.
“Who was she taken by, brother?” Thor asks. You cover your ears before he answers.
“By Thanos, I met her on the sanctuary, his ship. She can’t hear his name so not a word about him.” He taps your shoulder to let you know he is finished. They all nod.
Tony goes back to searching for your relatives and home.
“How old are you, y/n?” He asks you.
“Well in theory this year I’m 14.” They all turn to you giving you shocked looks. You step closer to Loki, who is still rubbing his face and wraps an arm around you.
“Did you have any pizza yet?” Clint asks, giving you a smile. You shake your head. He offers you his hand and leads you to the table in the center of the room, Loki not far behind you, and gives you a slice. “You can take more if you want.” He says and leaves when you give a nod to help the others.
You plop down on a chair, Loki pulling the chair he took before next to yours. You reach over to the middle of the table, straining slightly from the distance with your small stature, and pull over a box of pizza, taking a slice for Loki, handing it to him, and one for yourself since you already finished your last one. The two of you sit in comfortable silence, enjoying dinner together.
You hear a sigh emit from the group behind you causing you and Loki to look back at them.
“What’s the problem?” Loki asks, his brows furrowed.
“Y/n, your parents died a few years ago in a car crash,” Tony says.
You look back at your slice of pizza. “Well, I don’t remember them anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.” You shrug, taking another bite.
“Do you want to know where you used to live?” Steve asks, sitting down on your other side.
“Sure!” You perk up.
“Norway, in Bergen.” He says with a smile.
“Nice!” You smile. Taking another bite of pizza.
“Do you remember how to speak Norwegian?” Bruce asks.
“Ja, jeg kan norsk.” You say grinning.
“You know Thor and Loki come from Norse mythology?” Natasha pipes up, sitting in front of you.
“I actually didn’t. What role do you guys have in mythology?” You ask.
“We’re gods,” Loki says, chuckling slightly.
“Yeah, some gods, Loki here has six children with 2 wives.” You looked shocked at Loki, mouth gaping open.
“That’s absurd! I don’t have children or wives!” Loki says angrily. You start to laugh uncontrollably, Loki having to grab the back of your shirt to keep you from falling forward.
They look at Thor for confirmation causing Loki’s eyes to widen in disbelief. Thor nods to prove Loki’s statement.
“Thank you,” Loki says, shaking his head in disbelief. “Unbelievable, are you always this gullible?” He asks rhetorically.
You stifle a yawn as best as you can and climb off your chair to snuggle onto Loki’s lap, who without even a thought wraps his arms around you. They all give him a look at what’s happening before them.
“What?” He asks, looking around at the group, following their line of sight down to you. “Oh, we have an agreement.” He says, starting to stroke his fingers through your hair. “Are you tired, do you want to go up?” He asks. You hum in confirmation, nodding slightly. He then looks up at Tony who waves his hand in a motion to follow him. Loki sits up, adjusts you in his arms, and carries you behind Tony.
The rest of the Avengers are left staring after them.
“You know, for someone who doesn’t have kids, he sure does act like a parent,” Clint says once they have left, everyone nodding in agreement.
***
Tony gave Loki and you a room near The roof, on the same level as Thor, Clint, and Natasha. Tony thought you and Loki would do better sleeping in the same room from the way you were acting together and seeming as Thor is Loki’s brother and Clint and Natasha hit it off pretty well with you, the arrangement couldn’t be better.
Once he left, Loki gently laid you down on the big bed and tucked you in gently to not wake you up. He sat down on the other side of the bed and rubbed his face again. Today was an emotionally taxing day and a few hours of sleep would do him well.
He gets up to brush his teeth, wash his face, and get ready for bed. He then walks back to the bed and pulls the blanket over himself. After a few seconds of staring up at the ceiling, he decides to pull himself closer to you, wrapping his arms around you. It’s a good thing Tony gave him and you the same room, he wouldn’t be able to stand being separated from you again, not knowing what would happen to you, his mind buzzing with possible scenarios ranging from bad to absolutely fucking horrible.
He quickly falls asleep with the feeling of your warmth against his cool skin.
Notes:
Thanks for reading! I hope you like it. Kudos are great but comments are even better! Tell me what you would like to see happen and what not. I sincerely have to say, that I love a father figure Loki. I find it very wholesome, plus Clint and his fatherly side coming out, the same for Natasha. I really wanted to give them a kiss meanwhile writing this, imagining how they are treating y/n and whatnot.

Chapter Text
You are sitting pressed as far back in a cold, stone room, trying to disappear, leave this... not life of yours behind.
You hear heavy footsteps walking down the corridor next to your small cell. The door creaks open and the being comes to sit next to you in your corner.
"Hello, my child." Came the voice you knew all too well.
"l-I’m not your ch-child." You say with an accent, stuttering. You feel his larger body tense next to you as he lets out a sigh.
"I could remind you as many times as I wanted and you still wouldn't understand." He starts, his voice loosing any and all gentle touch it had before. "Without me you are nothing." He pronounces clearly. "You only have what you do because I made it that way, from my hard work. You are only the lucky subject that got the benefits of what I did. You were and still are disposable, child, it would do you good to remember that." His voice is grave and strong, sending chills and shivers through your small frame.
"I want my Amma and Abba!" You shout at him. "I miss them and they want me back!" Your young voice wavers. It's been years since you last saw them. You are so sure that they were real. They couldn't have been created by your imagination.
He quickly turns to you and slaps one of his big hands across your face. "Your parents are dead you fool." He rages. "I made sure of it. Now you have no one left but me." He angrily grabs your arm. "Stop crying now, pest. We have important work to do.
He drags you out of the cell feeling... nothing. You felt nothing, not being able to believe the news you just got. They where always so real to you and now they're gone, all because of him... and you for, willingly or not, being involved with him.
***
You startle awake, jumping from the position on the bed you where sleeping in. You frantically look around you and see a very disheveled Loki sitting next to you on a bed that wasn't in your cell before.
"Loki, were are we?" You ask, your voice shaking from the threat of tears falling, scared out of your skin for what might happen to you two if he comes.
"We’re in the Avengers compound, remember?" He said, rubbing your arms comfortingly. "He's not here anymore, we got away."
Your nerves start cooling down, finally realizing where you were.
You look at Loki. You have calmed down, but the shock of what you have dreamed is catching up with you. Your eyes start filling with tears.
"I'm sorry" You start sobbing. Loki pulls you to his chest.
"Hush now, you've done nothing wrong." He says, caressing the back of your head. "It’s alright. Rest now lille en, tomorrow has yet to come and you should be rested and ready." He said, pinching your cheek softly. "You should be especially prepared for my brother, you have seen how over excited he gets." He said jokingly, earning a chuckle from you.
You yawn before answering, "yeah, I'm tired." You two lay down and snuggle close to his chest. The soft rithmic beats of his heart lulling you into a cozy sleep.
Before Loki went to sleep, he made sure that you wouldn't be plagued by any more nightmares. Only then did he sleep peacefully.
***
You wake up slowly, still tired from you nightmare but you couldn't go back to sleep just yet, not when you feel like somethings wrong, as if someone's missing. You blink away any sleep left in your eyes, looking around the room. You can't find Loki next to you on the bed. You check the time. It's 8:42 am. You get off the bed and start looking around the room, under the bed, in the closet, the bathroom, but he's nowhere.
"JARVIS?" You call out.
"Yes, y/n?"
"Do you know where Loki is?"
"He appears to be on the ground floor." He answers.
"Oh, how comes?" You ask.
"He seems to be fighting with the Avengers against SHIELD."
"What's that?"
"SHIELD stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division." He answers. "In summary, it's a service that offers protection from higher risk entities."
Oh flip.
Why are they fighting against them? Especially Loki, what does he have to do with them?
You start worrying about all the possible outcomes of this, ranging from bad to absolutely gruesome.
You quickly run through the corridors, to a spiraling staircase, prefering to go faster and not wait for the elevator. It takes you more time than you would like to admit to find the right floor, even with the help of JARVIS.
Once you reach the right floor, approximately 13 stories down from where you were, you slowly creep down a corridor that leads to the open space where everyone is fighting. You assess the advantages and disadvantages of your position. Liking your odds, you slowly creep closer to the end.
You can see two groups in the area, one of them was formed by the Avengers and Loki, and the other buy some agents dressed all in black uniforms. The man in 5he center of the group looked like the leader, he was taller than the rest, had dark skin, no hair and an eyepatch. He wore a long black cloak, and to be honest, he kind of reminded you of a pirate.
You step out from where you were hiding, everyone looking at you. The first to speak up was the pirate man.
"Go, cuff her."
What?
Two agents started approaching you, causing you to quickly run behind Loki, any plans of being brave escaping you in an instant.
Loki happily puts himself in front of you, protecting you from the agents. He's much braver than you. Suits him well, you think to yourself at the angry looks on the pirate's and his agent's faces. He can have all the bravery.
"She’s not going anywhere." Loki says defiantly.
"It’s not for you to decide, and meanwhile you're on earth, you have no say in where she does or doesn't go." The pirate says angrily.
"Well then let's ask the girl, no?" Clint says.
They turn to you.
"Do you want to go with these men?" Tony asks you. You quickly shake your head, stepping nearer to Loki.
"I think that settles it." Tony concludes, everyone turning back to Pirate.
"This isn't a decision she can make either, she's a minor!" He exclaims.
"Well then who makes it to make Furry? This isn't exactly a decision for you to make either." Natasha says calmly.
"We have to treat her as any other external entity, as if it where a threat. That means we bring her to S.H.I.E.L.D where the council will decide what will happen to her next." He says, crossing his arms.
"Nick, she's a kid. She's not a threat." Steve says.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that, and I'm not willing to take chances with this." Everyone starts arguing against this again. "YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS," He starts, shouting over everyone. "Either she comes with us willingly, or we forcefully take her from you."
"And how would you forcefully take her away?" Steve asks.
"Using the Chitaurri technology we've collected."
"Are you threatening to overthrow us? Your own heros?" Tony asks.
"Heros can be replaced, with the advances technology we've been studying, you might not be as important as you think you are." He threatens. You are starting to be really scared of this guy.
"I can go with him." You say quietly.
Everyone turns to look at you.
"It really isn't that big of a deal. Plus, you guys barley know me, it wouldn't be fair to jeopardize your jobs for me." You say. Everyone's in shock for a few seconds before Tony turns back to this Furry man.
"I want two Avengers there... and Loki. God knows those two are inseparable." He rolls his eyes. Everyone turns to you and Loki. You tuck yourself behind him even more.
"Loki’s not coming." Fury says.
"Look, we want him to go as much as you do, but they haven't spent a single minute apart, I'm sadly not even kidding." Tony says, rubbing his face.
"I don't care, he just caused the attack on New York a few days ago, he's not coming with us."
You look at him angrily. You didn't understand why they still blamed him for the attack.
"You guys do understand it wasn't his fault, the attack on New York, right?" You speak up.
"What are you talking g about, we literally saw him directing the attack!" Fury exclaimed.
"I thought we established that he was being controlled!" You said stepping out from behind Loki, looking at the Avengers incredulously.
"She’s right." Steve spoke up finally.
"Thank you." You say, slightly angry.
"Controlled or not," Fury started, "He can't come."
You started to get nervous. You could already see where this was headed. They couldn't keep fighting forever against SHIELD. They would turn you over, promising something absurd so that they don't feel bad, and then forget about it.
"Look kid," Tony starts, looking down at you. "This will only be temporary, if you cooperate you will be out of there in no time, okay?"
There you go. You thought to yourself.
"NO!" Loki says defensively. "She’s not going anywhere without me, do you understand?!" He shouts at them.
"Loki, they won’t do anything to her they know she's innocent, all they want is information and they best place for them to get it, is from SHIELD headquarters. It's nothing bad." Clint reassured.
Loki was lost for words. He couldn't leave you but they would take you away and he wasn't strong enough at the moment to protect you.
"Hey, it's okay." You say, reaching up to pat his arm. "It shouldn't be more than a few days at most." You smile sadly at him. "We'll see each other soon enough." You slowly start walking away from them and to Fury and his agent's.
You look back at the Avengers and Loki as you walk away from them. You wave at them before leaving for the next few days.
"Bye" You call back. Loki waves at you, tears glistening in his eyes as he waved back.
