Notes:

So yeah, I kind of forgot to continue posting chapters. Blame my ADHD addled mind, but I'm back and so is the fanfic.

Chapter Text

Images born of a connection and a shared spirit..

“Lavellan!?”

Cries and calls echoed off the thick snow, the few trees rustling due to the intense, bitter wind. Two figures stood within the white snow, one elven and the other human. Familiar faces, labeled heroes and known for their respective titles.

“Fuck! How are we supposed to find her with this crazy wind!?” The human spoke out first, running her tanned fingers through her dark hair. This was Eryn Hawke. Known to the world as the champion of Kirkwall.

“The wind itself is a sign she’s still close. Nature is likely reacting to her presence.” The elven woman, Kiara, was quick to try and reassure the other. Kiara Surana, the Hero of Ferelden. “As long as things remain unsettled we can track her..”

Eryn huffed, eyes drifting over the blaring white.. “It surely doesn’t help that I can barely see out of one of my eyes..” She grumbled, her fingers tightening around the staff in her hands. “Come on..”

Kiara glanced back towards her, her sharp features grimacing at the sight of the nasty scars over Eryn’s right eye. Scars left behind from the events of Adamant fortress. It was a miracle that Fae Lavellan had been able to draw on enough of her old abilities to get both Eryn and Alistair out back then. “It’s better than being trapped in the fade..”

“Meh..” Eryn groaned, her gaze flicking back to the distant fortress of Skyhold. “You think Wisp will be fine?” She questioned, trembling as she tried to trudge through the thick snow.

“Cole stayed behind with her… but it won’t do any good if we can’t find Lavellan.” Kiara stabbed her own staff into the snowy ground, using to pull herself forward as she called out once more. “Lavellan!!!”

Mimicking the elf’s actions, Eryn dragged herself forward and followed with the desperate calls. “Fae!! I know you can hear us.. Just come back and we can figure this out!”

A flash of red against white flickered in the distance where a petite female stood. Her form flickered in and out of existence, an erratic display that only seemed to worsen the snow. The woman turned, and a once emerald gaze was stained red. Deep, red… like endless pools of blood within those once emerald eyes. Suddenly the snow grew erratic, lifting and surrounding the figure until she disappeared completely.

“No! Wait!” Kiara cried, unable to move due the biting cold until the figure was already gone. “ Fenedhis!”

“There’s only one place she would likely go..” Eryn sighed, her gaze drifting towards the elf.

“I suppose we're traveling to Arlathan Forest..”
