Chapter 2: NOT ANOTHER CROSSOVER!!!!
Chapter Text
Earth-38
The DEO headquarters hummed with quiet efficiency, its agents moving in calculated precision as they prepared for the arrival of yet another Fort Rozz escapee. The air smelled faintly of ozone and sterilized metal, a reminder of the advanced technology surrounding them.
J’onn J’onzz stood at the center of the command room, his towering presence alone enough to command attention. His piercing gaze swept over the gathered agents, most of whom had already taken their positions around the reinforced containment unit designated for their incoming prisoner.
"Alright, listen up," J’onn’s voice was firm, carrying the weight of his authority. "We have a special alien prisoner coming in today from Fort Rozz, so please be on your best behavior and prepare yourselves." He crossed his arms, eyes narrowing. "Supergirl just captured another Hellgrammite who escaped Fort Rozz and should be bringing him here any minute."
Alex Danvers, fully suited in her tactical gear, exhaled and adjusted her weapon. "Another one? I thought we took care of their nest months ago."
"So did I," J’onn admitted. "But this one must have slipped through our scans. Supergirl tracked him down before he could do any damage, but we need to be cautious."
At the weapons console, Winn Schott swallowed nervously. "Uh, just a quick reminder—these guys eat DDT like it's candy, and their exoskeletons can take a direct hit from a Kryptonian before they even flinch. You sure we don’t want to... I don’t know... move to Plan B and launch this thing into the sun?"
"You know we don't do that," Alex shot back. "We're containing it, not incinerating it."
"But shouldn't we incinerate it?" Winn mumbled under his breath.
Before anyone could respond, a loud sonic boom rattled the walls. The lights flickered for a moment as the building's security measures adapted to the pressure shift.
Supergirl had arrived.
The large doors at the far end of the room hissed open, and Kara Danvers, in full Supergirl attire, strode in, gripping a struggling Hellgrammite by the arm. The alien creature hissed and snarled, its exoskeleton glistening under the DEO’s harsh lighting. It thrashed violently, but Kara barely flinched, her grip unwavering.
"Hey, everyone!" Kara greeted casually, as if she wasn't dragging a hostile alien behind her. "Hope you’ve got that containment cell ready."
"Right this way," J’onn nodded, motioning toward the reinforced chamber.
The Hellgrammite hissed again, its eyes darting around as if calculating an escape. "You... can't keep me here forever," it rasped in an unearthly voice.
Kara raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? Tell that to your buddy we caught last time. Pretty sure he’s still in DEO lockdown, not enjoying the gourmet protein bars."
Earth-1
The steady whir of the high-tech treadmill echoed through the training room at S.T.A.R. Labs, accompanied by the rhythmic crackling of electricity as Barry Allen pushed his speed to its limits.
Barry’s scarlet lightning sparked off his suit, flickering in the dim glow of the lab’s overhead lights. His breathing was controlled, his eyes locked ahead, focused on the digital speedometer flashing in front of him.
Mach 1.2… Mach 1.5… Mach 2.0…
He could feel the air resistance growing, the familiar pressure in his chest building as his body adjusted to the increasing velocity. The world around him blurred, the hum of machinery fading into white noise.
From the control panel, Cisco Ramon leaned forward, watching the numbers spike. "Alright, Barry, looking good! You’re at Mach 2.1, but let’s see if we can hit Mach 2.5 without you turning into a human lightning bolt this time."
Barry smirked, barely missing a step. "You make it sound like that’s a bad thing."
"Uh, yeah, because the last time you overclocked your speed, we had to replace three power grids and evacuate the lab thanks to the 'Barry Allen Electrical Fire Extravaganza.' And I, for one, would love to not get roasted today."
Barry rolled his eyes but pushed forward.
Mach 2.3.
The walls around him seemed to stretch. The treadmill’s reinforced plates groaned under the force. His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
Then, suddenly—the lights flickered.
For a split second, Barry thought it was just the usual power fluctuations caused by his speed. But then—everything shut off.
The treadmill’s display glitched, numbers scrambling before the screen went dark.
The hum of S.T.A.R. Labs died.
Barry barely had time to register it before—
BOOM!
A shockwave of energy burst through the room, sending a pulse of static through the air. Barry stumbled, thrown off balance as the treadmill exploded in sparks, sending him skidding across the floor.
"What the hell?!" Joe yells.
“Okay, either Barry Allen just went all supernova on us again, or someone’s playing Pac-Man on a cosmic scale,” Cisco muttered.
Caitlin looked over his shoulder. "Barry? Are you alright?"
Barry groans. "Yeah, I'm fine thanks for asking Caitlin."
Waverider
Aboard the Waverider, Ava Sharpe stood with her arms crossed, glaring at the Legends like an angry school principal.
"For ONCE, I’d like you all to follow protocol. No time loops, no paradoxes, no—"
A sudden flicker in the ship's systems cut her off, and the team groaned collectively.
Nate squinted at the monitors. “Uh, guys? Either we just got timeline-whammied again, or something very weird is happening.”
Sara Lance pinched the bridge of her nose. "Did we break time again?"
Jax snorts. "Again? We still haven't fixed time since we broke it the first time."
Ava Sharpe rolls her eyes. "Why can't you Legend's be serious for one moment? I still don't understand what the hell Rip was thinking when he recruited all of you. You're definitely not responsible or mature enough to replace the 'Time Masters', I guess that explains why he created the Time Bureau."
Sara rolls her eyes. "Listen, we aren't responsible for whatever the hell just happened. So you can take yourself back to the Time Bureau and tell Rip what an 'amazing' job we're doing. Or you can just mysteriously disappear, I'm not a picky person."
In the Arrow Bunker, Felicity Smoak was deep in an encryption program while Oliver Queen and John Diggle sparred.
You two done with the macho workout?" Felicity asked, not looking up.
Before either could reply, her monitors flickered.
Thea Queen, leaning against the table, raised an eyebrow. "Uh, is that supposed to happen?"
Oliver and Diggle stopped. Oliver turned to Felicity, already bracing for bad news.
Felicity’s fingers flew across the keyboard before she froze. “Oh no.”
“What?” Dig asked.
Felicity looked up. “I think… we’re about to get another crossover.”
"What the hell do you mean by 'another crossover'?" Roy asks.
"Oh, yeah you weren't there. A couple of weeks ago, we got attacked by a bunch of creepy aliens called the Dominators. They were way too powerful for us to deal with on our own, so we had to team up with a bunch of other heroes including Barry and his team back in Central City. And our friends Sara and Ray and their team of 'Legends' as they call themselves showed up in a freakishly cool looking time-ship. And then Barry introduced us to an Alien from another earth named Kara or Supergirl, who turned out to be this invincible superhero with awesome powers like super-strength, x-ray vision, flight, heat-vision, and a bunch of other abilities. It was both frightening and oddly awesome at the same time." Felicity explains.
"Yeah, those Dominators were crazy. They wanted to kill off all of the Meta-Humans because Barry traveled back in time." Thea says with a groan.
Time Bureau
With a flash, Barry, Kara, Oliver, the Legends, and their teams landed in a heap on the floor of the Time Bureau’s headquarters.
Ava Sharpe, who had also been caught in the displacement, groaned as she pushed herself up, completely baffled by the unexpected intrusion.
"What—how—WHY are you people HERE?!" she demanded, looking at the scattered heroes.
Sara smirked, dusting herself off. "Aww, miss us already?"
Ava ignored her, turning toward the control panels. "Gideon! Explain!"
Gideon’s voice came through the speakers, calm yet cryptic.
"Apologies, Director Sharpe. But the timeline has deemed this necessary."
Ava’s eyes narrowed. "Necessary for what?"
Oliver Queen’s sharp green eyes locked onto Ava Sharpe, his posture immediately shifting into combat readiness. His muscles tensed, his instincts screaming at him to take control of the situation.
He didn’t recognize her. That was a problem.
"Who the hell are you?" Oliver demanded, his voice edged with authority, his stance ready for a fight if needed.
Ava narrowed her eyes, arms crossed in irritation. "I should be asking you the same thing. None of you were supposed to be here."
Barry stepped forward, hands raised in an attempt to de-escalate. "Okay, let’s just—take a breath. I think we all got teleported here against our will."
Ava barely glanced at him. "Right. And what are you supposed to be? Some kind of wannabe speedster?"
Barry blinked. "Uh… I am a speedster?"
Sara Lance snorted from the side, crossing her arms with a smirk. "Yeah, Ava, that’s Barry. Barry Allen. You know—The Flash?"
Ava’s face barely shifted, unimpressed. "Congratulations. You run fast. Good for you."
Felicity let out a nervous laugh. "Oh, I like her."
Oliver ignored the banter and took a deliberate step closer to Ava, his presence imposing. "You didn’t answer my question." His voice dropped into that familiar gravelly Arrow tone.
Ava didn’t flinch. If anything, her expression hardened in defiance.
"My name is Director Ava Sharpe. This is the Time Bureau—an organization designed to regulate time anomalies and prevent reckless people from messing with history." She sent a glare toward the Legends. "And them."
Sara smirked. "Love you too. Sharpe"
Oliver’s eyes flickered between the unfamiliar surroundings, the advanced tech, the large screens still flickering with glimpses of the past.
Time anomalies? Another secret organization messing with reality? He was so over this.
"So let me guess," he said, voice dry. "You're some kind of time cop?"
Ava rolled her eyes. "More like cleaners. We fix the messes caused by people like your friend here." She gestured vaguely at Sara, who simply grinned in response.
Oliver still wasn’t convinced. "And why should we trust you?"
"Because I work for an actual authority that knows what it’s doing," Ava shot back. "And you are currently trespassing in my facility."
"Believe me, Ava. If I had the option, I would not be stepping one foot in this 'hell hole'. You and I both know my feelings about the Time Bureau. Rip, made me Captain of the Waverider. And then less than fifteen minutes later, he takes away our time ship and puts us out of a job." Sara says with an eye roll.
"Yeah, what seemed like fifteen minutes to you Ms. Lance was actually five years for Rip, he spent his life building the Time Bureau. And believe me our feelings about you and your hoard of idiots are mutual. All of you single-handedly destroyed time, and wonder why Rip wanted to replace you. And then entered our facility without permission a couple of months ago, and stole Time Bureau property." Ava replies.
"Technically, the Waverider belonged to us before the Time Bureau. And we wouldn't have had to steal it, if Rip would've just given it back to us." Nate explains with an eye roll of his own.
"Can someone please explain what the hell is going on here?" Cat Grant yells.
"Apparently, Gideon decided to transport you all here to the Time Bureau so you could sit back and watch past, present, and future events like this is some kind of twisted reality show," Ava Sharpe says, crossing her arms tightly over her chest. Her tone is clipped, her annoyance barely concealed beneath a thin layer of professionalism. "I have no idea why she would do that, considering she knows exactly what Ms. Lance and the rest of the so-called Legends have done to the timeline—breaking it, rewriting it, butchering it beyond recognition." She lets out a sharp exhale, pinching the bridge of her nose in exasperation before waving a dismissive hand. "But, of course, logic rarely applies when it comes to the Legends. So here we are."
"Alright," Ava announces with a sharp sigh. "Since Gideon decided to throw an impromptu multiversal reunion, let’s just get this over with. Everyone, introduce yourselves so we don’t have to waste even more time answering basic questions later."
Sara Lance, standing beside her, smirks. "Translation: Ava’s already got a headache, and we just got here."
"Yes, thank you, Captain Lance," Ava deadpans before motioning for the introductions to begin.
Barry Allen steps forward first, smiling brightly. "I’ll go first. I’m Barry Allen, also known as The Flash."
"You really like saying that, huh?" Cisco Ramon teases.
Barry shrugs. "It’s my thing."
Cisco grins and gestures to himself. "Cisco Ramon. Engineer, metahuman, and certified genius. Also known as Vibe."
"Iris West," Iris introduces herself with a confident smile. "Reporter, and Barry’s fiancée."
"Joe West," Joe adds, giving a nod. "Detective with the CCPD and father figure to an entire superhero team."
"David Singh," the CCPD captain introduces himself, eyeing the assembled heroes warily.
"Harry Wells," the Earth-2 scientist mutters gruffly, adjusting his glasses. "I build things. I yell at people. That’s it."
Cisco snorts. "That is the best description I have ever heard."
"Shut up Ramon."
Eddie Thawne steps forward, looking vaguely confused. "Uh, Eddie Thawne. Detective, CCPD. Not entirely sure what I’m doing here, but hey, nice to meet you all."
Dead silence.
Team Flash freezes as if someone just pressed pause on reality itself. Barry's smile vanishes, his face going pale. Iris audibly gasps, her hands instinctively covering her mouth. Joe’s eyes widen in shock, and Cisco looks like he’s seen a ghost—which, technically, isn’t far from the truth.
Iris’s breath hitches. "Eddie?" she whispers, her voice barely audible.
Eddie blinks, confused. "Uh… yeah? Did I say something weird?"
Barry opens his mouth, then closes it, struggling to form words. "Eddie, you—" He swallows hard, glancing at Iris, who looks like she might cry. "You… died."
Eddie frowns, looking around at their shocked expressions. "Okay… gonna need some context here because, last I checked, I was very much not dead." He lets out an awkward chuckle, but no one else joins in.
Harry Wells clears his throat, stepping in before the stunned silence becomes unbearable. "Well, this just got significantly more complicated."
Joe finally regains his voice, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief. "Son… what’s the last thing you remember?"
Eddie shifts uncomfortably. "Uh, I was still working at CCPD, dealing with the Trickster situation—crazy guy with bombs, and the original Trickster from the '90s came back?—and then… I don’t know. Next thing I know, I’m here." He gestures vaguely around the Time Bureau.
Cisco exhales sharply, running a hand through his hair. "Ohhhh, this is some timey-wimey nonsense. I hate when this happens."
"Tell me about it," Sara says with an eye roll, even though she has to deal with time anomalies every single damn day of her life now.
"Try, working for an organization dedicated to fixing time anomalies. You get used to stuff like this."
Next, the Arrow team steps up.
"Oliver Queen," Oliver says, his voice carrying the weight of his reputation. "I’m the Green Arrow."
Thea Queen crosses her arms. "Thea Queen. Sometimes known as Speedy. Not a fan of time travel, alternate Earths, or anything that makes my life more complicated."
"John Diggle," Diggle introduces himself, nodding to the room. "Team Arrow’s field leader, and the guy who usually keeps Oliver from brooding too much."
"Felicity Smoak," Felicity adds with a wave. "Tech expert, hacker extraordinaire, and the one who somehow manages to keep this team from falling apart."
"Anyway," Kara Danvers steps up next, beaming. "Hi, I’m Kara Danvers, but you probably know me better as Supergirl."
"Alex Danvers," her sister introduces herself, arms crossed. "Director of the DEO and professional Supergirl babysitter."
"Winn Schott," Winn says with a wave. "Tech guy, hacker, and resident pop culture expert."
J’onn J’onzz steps forward, his presence immediately commanding the room’s attention. "I am J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter."
A beat of silence follows before Nate Heywood excitedly whispers to Ray Palmer, "Dude, that’s so cool."
Ray grins. "I know, right?"
"Speaking of which," Ray says, finally stepping forward. "I’m Ray Palmer, aka The Atom. Billionaire scientist, superhero, and overall great guy."
"Jefferson Jackson," Jax introduces himself, nodding to Stein beside him. "One-half of Firestorm."
"Dr. Martin Stein," Stein follows, adjusting his glasses. "The more refined half of Firestorm, I might add."
"Nate Heywood," Nate says with a grin. "Historian, superhero, and the guy who can turn into steel."
"Legends," Ava mutters, shaking her head before gesturing toward Sara.
Sara takes a step forward, smirking. "Sara Lance, Captain of the Waverider, aka White Canary. And trust me, I know exactly how insane all of this is."
A beat of silence follows before Oliver sighs and looks around. "Okay, now that we all know each other, can someone please tell me why we’re here?"
"That," Ava says, rubbing her temples, "Gideon, please explain before I get a migraine."
Every head turns as the Cat Grant strides into the room, exuding an air of power and authority that makes even the most hardened heroes momentarily straighten up.
"Well, well, well," she drawls, adjusting her designer sunglasses before lowering them slightly to scan the group. "If it isn’t the Justice League… or, at least, the discount version."
Felicity blinks. "Uh—who—?"
Before he can finish, Kara steps forward, looking both excited and nervous. "Ms. Grant! What are you doing here?"
"Kara? You know her?"
"Um, I know her too. Ms. Grant is our old boss from CatCo. You know the Queen of all Media herself. Kara used to be her personal assistant before she got a promotion and became a reporter. And I was her IT guy until I got a job working for J'onn at the DEO." Winn explains.
"Yup, that about sums everything up." Alex says with a nod.
"Nice to see you too. Winn, Keira."
"Perhaps I should clarify," Gideon says, materializing as a glowing blue figure in the center of the room.
Barry jumps slightly. "Still not used to the whole ‘AI suddenly appearing out of nowhere’ thing."
Felicity crosses her arms. "Pfft. Amateurs."
Gideon continues without acknowledging the interruption. "I transported you all here to the Time Bureau for a very specific reason. Recent disturbances in the timeline suggest an event of catastrophic proportions is imminent—one that affects all of you, across multiple points in time and space."
Oliver frowns. "That’s… vague."
"Yes," Gideon replies, "but necessary. If I reveal too much at once, it may accelerate the damage."
"Classic time travel nonsense," Cisco mutters.
Eddie, still grappling with the whole I’m supposed to be dead revelation, raises a hand. "Okay, but why me? I’m just a detective from Central City, and based on the way everyone looked at me a minute ago, I probably shouldn’t even be here."
Gideon hesitates for half a second—just enough to make everyone even more uneasy. "You are here because you must be. Your presence is crucial to stabilizing the future."
Iris’s voice shakes slightly. "Does that mean… Eddie was never supposed to die?"
Gideon remains silent for a beat before answering carefully, "The timeline is malleable. What is ‘supposed’ to happen is often a matter of perspective."
Joe rubs a hand over his face. "That is not an answer."
Cat Grant sighs dramatically. "Alright, so let me get this straight. We were all kidnapped from our very important lives, thrown into this bland government facility, and told that time itself is on the verge of collapsing—oh, and the dead guy is apparently not supposed to be dead. Have I missed anything?"
Ray Palmer raises a hand. "I think that sums it up!"
J’onn, who has remained stoic until now, finally speaks. "What exactly do you need from us, Gideon?"
Gideon’s holographic gaze sweeps over the group. "I need you all to watch videos from your past, present, and future, in order to prevent this 'Anachronism' as Director Hunter and Director Sharpe like to put it, from destroying everything you know."
A heavy silence follows.
Sara sighs, cracking her knuckles. "Well, we should probably do what Gideon says before the Time Bureau gets on our asses again"
"I think you mean, 'before Agent Sharpe gets on YOUR ass again'." Jax corrects with a snort.
"Exactly, I just had to sit through an hour-long lecture from little Ms. pantsuit on the wave rider. I don't want to hear an even longer lecture from her, if we destroy time again."
Ava snorts and rolls her eyes. "Again, time is still destroyed because of you and the rest of the Legends. So how about we just watch whatever Gideon has so that we don't destroy it even further."
"Sara? How the hell did you destroy time?" Thea asks genuinely curious.
Felicity snorts. "And I thought, Barry traveling back in time and creating Flashpoint was bad."
"What the hell is Flashpoint?" Eddie asks confused. What the hell was going on? Eddie turns to Barry expecting an explanation.
Barry sighs, "Flashpoint is the name that Dr. Wells or Eobard Thawne gave the alternate timeline I accidentally created when I ran back and stopped him from killing my mom a few months ago. I lived in Flashpoint for around six months before I started getting these weird flashes. I thought I reset everything when I brought Thawne or the Reverse Flash back to the night my mom died and let him kill her. But instead, the timeline changed and certain aspects of the previous timeline were altered while others stayed relatively similar to our original timeline."
"Wait, Dr. Wells is the Reverse Flash?" Eddie asks shocked. "I thought he was paralyzed because of the Particle Accelerator explosion?"
Team Flash including Harry snorted.
"Yeah, that whole wheel-chair thing was just another lie he told us," Cisco explains bitterly.
"Wait, who are you?" Eddie directs his question to Harry who looks exactly like Dr. Wells- Or 'Eobard Thawne'.
"Oh, this is Harry. He's Dr. Well's doppelganger from Earth-2. He's also a pain in the ass." Cisco says.
"Speaking of Harry, why is he here instead of H.R.?" Iris asks confused.
"Yeah, that's a good question." Caitlin agrees.
"H.R.?" Oliver questions.
"The Harrison Wells of Earth-19." Team Flash explains in unison.
"Anyways. Let's go ahead and begin, shall we?" Gideon explains.
Chapter 3: The Origins of the Scarlet Speedster

Chapter Text
"So, what are we reacting to first Gideon?" Sara asks the futuristic AI program that has guided her and the rest of her team through Space and Time for the last three months.
"We will start by watching Barry Allen, before and after he became the Flash," Gideon explains.
Barry’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise as he crosses his arms. "Wait—before and after I became the Flash? Are you talking about that trip I took to Starling City, a few days before the Particle Accelerator exploded?"
Gideon’s interface flickers as she responds smoothly, "Correct, Mr. Allen. You will be observing the events surrounding your visit to Starling City, where you assisted Oliver Queen’s team in investigating an unusual break-in at Queen Consolidated.
Oliver smirks. "This should be interesting, shouldn't it Barry? If I remember correctly, you lied about being a full-time CSI from Central City and you also lied about being sent by your boss."
"You don't have to remind me, Oliver. I know exactly what they're about to show everyone. A week or so before, I was struck by lightning," Barry explains with a sigh.
"Oh right. I forgot you told me you met Oliver before you became the Flash." Kara says.
This door was made of expanded reinforced titanium.
What did they use to do this?
Not sure yet. No sign of any explosives. Maybe a crane, maybe a forklift.
I'm guessing there were at least three of them, maybe four. And given how quickly they got in and out of here...
They were fast. Whoa, hey, stop, wait! You don't even have a fare!
Quentin: Any idea what these guys were so hot to break in here for? You didn't happen to leave a spare earthquake machine lying around, did you?
This is what we're able to pull off the security cameras. He was the only guy we got on video.
The rest of the crew must have come in after him.
Actually, it was only one guy. Ah, sorry I'm late. But actually, my train was late. Well, the second one. The first one I did miss, but that was my cab driver's fault.
I've got this great traffic app, and... But he thought that he was right. I'm here now, though. So.
Captain Singh sighs. "Allen, you said it yourself, you're the Flash. So how the hell are you always late to work every day? Don't you have superspeed?"
"Yes, he does Captain. Bar also has a superpower called 'Super tardiness'." Joe jokingly says.
"Hey, I'm not late to work every day. I was on time yesterday. And I got to work an hour earlier than usual on Wednesday." Barry tries to explain mumbling to himself and waving his hands in defense.
"Barry. You and I have been best friends for years, so I will be very blunt. You are late to work every single day. You've been coming late to work since before you even became the Flash, and now you don't have an excuse because you can just run and avoid long traffic." Iris tells her fiancee.
"He doesn't even have a car, he never had an excuse to begin with." Captain Singh says with an eye roll.
"So the Scarlet Speedster is late to work every day huh?" Sara jokingly asks her friend.
"Hey, in my defense THIS happened months before I even became the Flash," Barry says.
I'm here now, though. So.
Great. Who the hell are you?
And do your parents know that you're here?
I'm Barry Allen.
I'm from the Central City police department.
I'm with the crime scene investigation unit.
We're working on a case with some similar unexplained elements in Central City, so when the report of your robbery came over the wire, my captain sent me up here.
Barry winces when he hears Oliver talk about his parents. Barry's mother was murdered by the Reverse Flash when he was 11 years old. And his father was killed in front of him by Zoom last year. He still hasn't fully recovered from the loss of both of his parents, especially since he just got his father back.
Oliver notices Barry, "I'm sorry, Barry. At the time, I didn't know that your mom was dead. And I know you're still grieving about the death of your father."
"It's fine, Oliver. You're right, you didn't know anything about my parents or personal life." Barry reassures.
"Wow, I don't think I have ever heard Oliver Queen give a sincere apology." Sara jokes. "What have you done to him, Felicity?"
Thea snorts.
"Oh, haha. Sara. Just wait until we have to react to you." Oliver says with an eye roll.
"I'm just kidding Ollie. You and I have been friends for years, however, I'm not joking about the fact that I have never seen you give such a sincere apology to anyone." Sara says.
"Allen? Is this the week you took off because you had 'food poisoning'?" Captain Singh asks the young CSI.
"Yes? Am I in trouble Captain?" Barry asks slightly afraid of the answer.
"No, you're lucky that you're good at your job. And I don't want to find a replacement." The CCPD captain says.
And you think one guy ripped through this door like it was tin foil?
One very strong guy, yeah. Uh, it takes about 1,250 foot pounds of torque to break someone's neck.
Do you see the marks on the guard's neck?
The bruising pattern suggests the k*ller used only one hand. I'm guessing you don't know how hard it is to break someone's neck.
Hmm? No. No idea. Uh, we're going to need a list of the entire inventory here to figure out exactly what was stolen.
Actually, I think I know what was stolen. A centrifuge. An industrial centrifuge. Probably the Kord Enterprises 2BX 900. Maybe the six series.
Both have a three-column base. Here, you can see the three sets of broken bolts where the thief just... ripped it out of the ground.
And what exactly is a centrifuge?
It separates liquids. The centripetal acceleration causes denser substances to separate out along the radial direction. And lighter objects move to the top.
"Ok, first of all, Barry how the hell were you able to determine the model of the object stolen? And second of all, how did you know what he was talking about?" Eddie asks Barry and then Felicity.
"It's like Captain Singh said, I'm very good at my job," Barry says.
"And, to answer your question. I graduated from MIT. Also, in case you haven't figured it out, this room is filled with science nerds." Felicity says.
"She has a point," Winn says.
"Yeah." Ray agrees.
"Eddie, just wait until they start rambling to one another about science. I remember that time we went on that double date with Felicity and Barry, a couple of years ago, and I had no idea what half of the shit that came out of their mouths meant. Now that I've started hanging around S.T.A.R Labs more, I've picked up on a little bit of nerdology." Iris says.
Barry snorts, "Nerdology? Iris?"
"Iris has a point, Barry, we've all seen what happens when the geek squad assembles," Nate says with a groan. He might be a history nerd, but that didn't mean that Nate understood half of the scientific shit that came out of Ray or Professor Stein's mouths."
"Yeah, our friends are fluent in 'Nerdology'," Thea explains.
What did you say your name was again?
Barry. Allen.
Felicity. Smoak.
Um, you can see the cracks heading towards the door. Footsteps.
One guy.
Anyway, it's just a theory.
One backed by a lot of evidence.
There has to be another explanation.
Yeah. I'm sure you're right
"While the possibility of an alternative explanation is possible. Allen is rarely wrong when it comes to diagnosing crime scenes." Harry says.
"It's true, Mr. Allen has a talent for dissecting every aspect of a crime scene. And thanks to Barry, the CCPD has been able to lock up dangerous criminals and dangerous Meta-Humans." Captain Singh explains.
"Yeah, I know that now. But at the time, Barry just showed up out of nowhere." Oliver explains.
"Valid." Thea comments.
"I think Felicity, was the only one of us who trusted Barry from the moment she met him," Diggle says.
"I think that's because Barry and Felicity are so similar." Ray comments.
"Yeah, they both stumble over their words, talk about a bunch of weird science nonsense, and they can be awkward whenever they're having a conversation," Thea explains.
"I remember the day Barry and I met." Kara says.
"Yeah, I do too. I was testing out a Tachyon enhancer and I accidentally ran too fast and opened a breach to Earth-38. And then I found you falling from a building so I caught you, and then you said I didn't have to catch you and flew away in your little super suit after you shed your burning clothes." Barry says
"The two of you totally bonded over donuts and other unhealthy foods," Winn says with a snort.
"In my defense, I have to eat around 10,000 calories a day, or else I run the risk of passing out. It's a side-effect of my enhanced speed and my enhanced metabolism. The good part of the situation however, is that I run so fast that I burn my calories off in less than an hour."
Got the final inventory from Applied Sciences. That CSI from Central City was right. The only thing missing is a centrifuge.
You have to see this. I pulled up CC traffic camera footage from across the street of applied sciences.
This is three minutes after the alarm went off. [Thunder]
Can we help you with something, Detective?
Oh, CSIs aren't actually detectives. We don't even carry guns. Just some plastic baggies. [Chuckles]
[Chuckles]
Uh, where should I set up my equipment? I'll show you.
"Hey, Barry? Didn't you and Felicity go out on a date with one another?" Cisco asks.
Felicity chuckles. "It wasn't a date, we just went out to trivia night. And then Barry sped off and started doing Flash stuff."
"It was a date. Eddie and I were there." Iris says with a grin.
"But now, I'm engaged to Iris," Barry says with a grin.
"Wait, what? Barry, you're engaged? How the hell did I not know about this?" Oliver asks.
Barry just shrugs. "Don't feel bad Oliver, Iris and I just got engaged a couple of days ago. I didn't even tell Cisco and Caitlin until around two days after I asked her."
What are you doing?
We need to find this intruder. And he seems to know more about it than any of us. Forensic science isn't exactly my forte, so...
I'd say we need him. Wouldn't you?
Mm-hmm.
I'll show you around.
Why am I getting the feeling you know more about this than Felicity's new friend? Pray I'm wrong.
AN: I'm skipping to the next episode after this scene. Sorry, but I'm cramming scenes from three different episodes into this chapter so I have to cut out certain parts, otherwise I might never get this chapter posted.
"I guess it's a good thing that Barry is an expert in the Forensic Science field," Cisco says.
"I wouldn't call myself an expert-" Barry starts.
"Trust me, Barry you're one of the best CSI's that I know. I'm an expert hacker. And you're an expert Forensic Scientist." Felicity reassures her friend.
"By the way, thank you for helping us revamp the S.T.A.R Labs server, Felicity, our server was still bugged with all of Dr. Wells old code. And since he turned out to be a crazy psychopath speedster from the future, I decided that I wanted to get rid of all traces of our Wells." Cisco thanks his blonde friend.
"It was the most I could do for you, considering you helped us reroute the Arrowcave so that the servers wouldn't continuously crash."
Timeskip
Please save my friend. Hold him! He's not going to make it. He will. We just have to find out what's in his system. I--I--I usually only work on dead people. Barry! All right, I can think of four possible diagnosis for what's causing his body to react this way. Make three possible diagnoses.
"Wow Barry, you don't work very well under pressure." Alex jokes.
"I work very well under pressure, I just tend to stumble over my words under pressure," Barry explains.
"Don't you stumble over your words every day?" Caitlin teases.
"Shut up Caitlin. I'm not that bad."
"No, Caitlin has a point there Barry." Iris teases.
Barry groans.
Start chest compressions. Got it.
He's suffering from intravenous coagulation. His blood is unnaturally clotting. It's like maple syrup.
You can save him, right?
Lucky you guys have a rat problem.
"Wow, Barry. The comparison between Oliver's blood and Maple Syrup is uncanny. If I throw up next time I eat pancakes, I'm blaming you, dude." Cisco complains.
"Barry, please tell me that you didn't give my brother rat poison!!! Isn't that shit supposed to kill humans?" Thea asks waving her arms around.
"Normally, the answer would be yes. However, in this situation, the rat poison was used to thin down his overly thickened blood. So it actually brought his levels down to a normal state." Barry explains his actions.
"I still can't believe you gave me rat poison Barry."
"Hey, it was either Rat poison or dying. Which option sounds better in your opinion?" Barry sarcastically asks his friend.
Oliver sighs. "Thank you, for saving my life, Barry."
"You're welcome, Oliver."
[Monitor beeping] [Gasping and choking] Oliver, let him go. Oliver! What the... What the hell is going on? You were injected with a strong-acting blood coagulant. [Coughs] You would have stroked out, ahem, but fortunately you had a very effective blood thinner handy. Warfarin. Better known as rat poison.
"Modern problems, call for modern solutions," Cisco says.
This is the point in a lifesaving emergency where you thank the person that did the lifesaving. You told him who I am. Yeah, I did. That's not your secret to tell, Felicity. I decide who finds out my identity. Well, we didn't have time to get your vote, what with you unconscious and dying. What happens if he leaves here and goes right to the police? He wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that.
"Ok, technically. I'm a CSI and Forensic Scientist for the CCPD. So I work with the police every day, but I have never told any one Oliver's secret identity. I didn't even tell Dr. Wells, Joe, Caitlin, or Cisco when Oliver showed up in Central City. I know how to keep a secret." Barry says.
"That's debatable. Remember how you revealed your identity to Lyla?" Caitlin asks unimpressed.
"Ok, in my defense. I seriously thought that Lyla and Diggle were married at the time, and I also thought that she already knew I was the Flash."
"I keep secrets for a living Barry," Diggle says.
"I know that now."
I trust him. I don't! What are you going to do, put an arrow in him?
Barry groans, "That's exactly what Oliver did. We were training, and he decided to shoot an arrow into my flesh."
"Oh come on Barry, that was two years ago. Get over it."
"I'll get over it, after I finally get you back."
I am considering it. Don't worry, he's kidding! How is this any different from when your mother shot you and you came to me for help? Your mother shot you? Or when you brought Dig down here when he was poisoned with curare. The difference is that I did my homework on both of you! I don't just tell people easily. I'm not going to tell anyone. And you don't have to thank me, but you should thank her instead of being kind of a jerk.
"I already said, 'thank you' so I won't repeat myself," Oliver says.
AN: Time for another episode change soon. I would totally add more scenes to this chapter if it wasn't currently 1 AM.
[Cell phone rings] [Ring] I should take this. [Ring] Hi. Barry: Hey Did you make it? I made it back to Central City in time, but I missed the cut off in line at S.T.A.R. Labs. I was late, as usual. But in spirit of not being late again, uh, if you ever decide that Oliver Queen isn't the guy for you; if you decide that you want to go on a date with someone else, um... You should know that that guy, he'll be on time. Good to know.
"You know, as similar as Barry and I are. We're much better off as friends."
"I completely agree, Felicity," Barry says with a smile.
"I hope so, considering you're marrying me, Mr. Barry Allen." Iris teases her childhood best friend.
Oh, hey, and I left something for Oliver. I hope he likes it. Bye, Barry. Bye, Felicity. [Thunder] I'm Linda Park and we're live outside S.T.A.R. Labs despite the inclement weather, which is only going to get worse. The torrential downpour has driven away almost all the protesters though S.T.A.R. Labs CEO Harrison Wells has assured us that the storm tonight will in no way affect the particle accelerator, which is up and running smoothly.
"I'm glad you used that mask I made for you Oliver."
[Thunder] Wait, we are now being told to evacuate the facility. The storm may have caused a malfunction to the primary cooling system. Officials are now trying to shut down the particle accelerator, but so far have been unable to regain control of the system. [Power shuts down]
Barry winced, the moment he watched himself get struck by lightning.
"OH MY-"
"HOW THE HELL ARE YOU STILL ALIVE, BARRY???" Alex asks shocked.
"I ask myself that question every single day. Also, the lightning bolt that hit me was infused with dark matter which is how I became a Meta."
"Yeah, you and half of Central City. I don't know why, it took us so long to integrate a Meta human wing into Iron Heights prison." Joe asks before rubbing his temples.
"Joe, you have to remember, that when I first became the Flash. Dr. Wells or should I say Thawne, wanted to keep everything on the down low because S.T.A.R Labs was still facing major backlash from the Particle Accelerator explosion. And we delt with Meta Humans by locking them up in the old Particle Accelerator, so there was no need for a prison at the time."
"Alright, I am going to skip to Barry Allen's very first battle as the Flash." Gideon says before skipping through her program until she found the necessary video.
"Ah yes, Weather Wizard."
"Cisco, you seriously need to stop naming the Meta Humans. First it's Weather Wizard, then you came up with the name Fallout, and you even nicknamed Snart Captain Cold because of the cold gun that he stole from our facility." Caitlin says with an eye roll.
"Wait, you're the one who gave Snart his title? I always thought that Snart gave himself that name." Ray says
The night of the storm, after S.T.A.R. Labs blew, after our plane went down, and I woke up on the ground alive, when I saw what I can do, I understood.
I am God.
Shut the hell up. Turn around.
Do you think that your g*ns can stop God?
Why in the hell would God need to rob banks?
You're right. I've been thinking too small.
Barry! Barry!
This thing's getting closer. Wind speeds are 200 miles per hour and increasing.
Barry, can you hear me? Yeah. Loud and clear.
If it keeps up, this could become an F-5 tornado.
"You know, I'm starting to think that the nickname Weather Wizard, was pretty fitting for this bastard," Jax says.
"Thank you!!! See, someone else values my amazing talent."
Barry chuckles.
But it's headed towards the city. How do I stop it? Guys? What if I unravel it?
How the hell are you going to do that?
I'll run around it in the opposite direction, cut off its legs.
He'd have to clock 700 miles per hour to do that. Your body may not be able to handle those speeds.
You'll die.
I have to try.
[Chuckles] The suit's holding up.
But he's not.
He can do it. I know he can do it.
Barry snorts. "700 miles per hour is nothing compared to what I run now. What am I Mach 7 or 8 now?" Barry asks.
"Around that range. Barry, you and I both know that I care much more about your well-being than you do. And as your meta human physician I have my reasons for worrying so much. You always dive head first into danger."
"Caitlin has a point, Bar. You're always putting other people first, even in situations where you really should be prioritizing your own safety." Joe says
[Grunting]
It's too strong!
It's time to think big.
You can do this, Barry.
You were right.
I am responsible for all of this. So many people have been hurt because of me, and when I looked at you, all I saw was another potential victim of my hubris.
And yes, I created this madness, but you, Barry, you can stop it.
You can do this.
Now run, Barry, run!
"You know, looking back on this now. That speech was so rich coming from Dr. Wells, or should I say my mothers murderer The Reverse Flash. He only helped me and trained me to get faster to help himself, because without my speed he wouldn't be able to get back to the future."
"Yeah, but you have to admit Dr. Wells gave some pretty good advice even though he was really only helping himself. Like when he taught you how to phase for the first time, you might've blown up if he hadn't shown you how to phase your body." Caitlin says trying to look on the brightside.
"What is phasing?" Oliver asks.
"Phasing (also called quantum tunneling) is one of Barry Allen’s signature abilities as the Flash. It allows him to vibrate his molecules at just the right frequency to pass through solid objects." Gideon explains through the speaker system in the Time Bureau building.
"Thanks, Gideon."
[Screaming] Barry?
Hey. I didn't think there was anyone else like me.
I'm not like you. You're a m*rder*r. [g*nshots]
Barry?
It's over. I'm okay.
What you can do... It was the lightning bolt?
More or less.
I'm sorry, Barry. I'm sorry I didn't believe you. And I called you crazy for chasing the impossible.
"Thanks to Dr. Wells. Central City is now the home of the impossible, we discover brand new Meta humans every day."
"Alright, let's continue to the next topic." Gideon says
Chapter 4: The Flash Vanishes in Crisis?!
Summary:
They will be reacting to the scene from season 1 of the Flash when Caitlin, Cisco, and Barry find the TIme Vault and meet Gideon for the very first time.
Chapter Text
Cisco: The night we trapped the Reverse-Flash in the force field, there's no reason that the containment system should have failed.
I've been having these dreams.
What happens in the dream?
Cisco: Dr. Wells is the Reverse-Flash, and he kills me.
Cisco exhaled shakily, forcing himself to push the memory away. “Yeah, turns out those dreams weren’t dreams. They were vibes of the timeline before Barry accidentally traveled back in time and altered the timeline.”
He said it like it was no big deal, but it was a big deal.
"Barry!!!! How many times do I have to tell you to stop traveling back in time and messing with past events????" Sara asks the Scarlet Speedster in annoyance. She had no idea why the hell Ava and the Time Bureau were pissed off at her and her team, when Barry Allen aka the Flash time traveled and altered events like they were nothing. Hell, the speedster created an alternate timeline where his mother was alive for goodness sake.
"Not that you have much room to talk about reckless timeline meddling," Ava Sharpe retorted, crossing her arms as she shot Sara a pointed look. "But you have a point, Ms. Lance," Ava admitted with a sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose in frustration. "You and the Legends have left a trail of historical disasters, paradoxes, and anachronisms that the Time Bureau is still cleaning up. And Mr. Allen over here created an alternate timeline, however, the Time Bureau doesn't meddle in Meta-human affairs, so we're still only cleaning up after you."
"Ok, Sara, you never answered my question earlier. How the hell did you and the rest of the Legends manage to destroy time?" Thea asks.
SARA destroyed time after she decided to break the most important rule of time travel, never visit the same time and place twice. We ended up interacting with our pastselves in a desperate attempt on Captain Lance's side to prevent the Legion of Doom from reshaping our reality permanently." Professor Stein explains in the simplest terms possible. He dumbed it down enough for the non time-travelers in the room to understand.
"Yup, and because of their reckless actions Anachronisms have been popping up left and right," Ava explains tiredly.
"Anachronisms?" Oliver questions.
"People, places and things displaced from their native period, and instead scattered throughout time." Ray Palmer explains.
"Yup, a couple of weeks ago we got to meet and fight the real Julius Caesar," Nate says before high fiving Jax.
"Tch, yeah and if I remember correctly you Legends made the anachronism ten times worse." Ava counters.
"You know, Ava, you never exactly thanked me or the rest of my team for saving you. You instead proceeded to send Gary to spy on me and my team, and then the two of us had a little sparring match on the Waverider." Sara says
"Flash missing. Vanishes in crisis."
"After an epic street battle with the Reverse-Flash,
"our city's very own Scarlet Speedster disappeared in an explosion of light."
Barry, look at the date.
April 25th, 2024.
"Crisis? What the hell is a crisis? And why is Barry going to die because of it?" John Diggle asks.
Thea turns to Ava, Sara, and the rest of the Legends expecting an explanation. They're time-travelers, which means they must've seen what happens in the future at least once.
"I have no idea what this newspaper article is talking about Thea, but even if I did have a small idea about this upcoming crisis, I wouldn't be able to tell any of you about it, that would risk screwing up the timeline even more than we already have," Sara explains
"You know, I miss my normal life, before time travel, aliens, and meta humans became a normal occurrence. Also where the hell are the three of you?" John asks the three original members of Team Flash.
"The Time Vault is a hidden room that we discovered inside of S.T.A.R Labs, after we started suspecting that Dr. Wells was the Reverse Flash. After we suspected Wells, Cisco, Caitlin, and I started digging around S.T.A.R. Labs and that's how we found the time vault. Now that I own the property, we mostly use the timevault for security purposes." Barry explains.
Guys, when I fought The Reverse-Flash at Christmas, he said that we'd be fighting for centuries.
Wait, you can't really think that this is from... the future. That would mean Dr. Wells, or whoever he is, is also... From the future.
I have to say, I'm really digging the brighter red suit. And the white on the symbol? Cisco: That's dope.
Wait a second. Suppose we now change the color on your suit.
Will it be because we got the idea from this picture?
That would mean we're living in a causal nexus. This... wow. This is so trippy.
Like, Marty and the Polaroid trippy.
Not as trippy as the name on the byline.
Iris West-Allen?
"How is Dr. Wells- I mean the Man in Yellow from the future?" Eddie asks.
"Dr.Wells- I mean Eobard Thawne is an evil speedster from hundreds of years in the future, around the 22nd century, and because he's a speedster like myself he was able to use his superspeed and his connections to the speedforce which connects all speedsters across the multiverse and grants us our speed, to run back in time to the day my mother was murdered, apparently he wanted to kill younger me instead but ended up killing my mother because future me or future Flash saved 11 year old me. Anyways, flash-forward several years, Thawne purposely sets off the Particle Accelerator knowing that it will explode and create hundreds to thousands of meta humans to turn me into the Flash. He did this because after he killed my mother, he altered the timeline,e and I never became the Flash so he couldn't use his speed to return home since he never got the idea to recreate the explosion in the future." Barry explains
"Wait, I just realized. If Barry's mother wasn't originally murdered by Thawne, then does that mean that prior to Flashpoint, we were already living in an alternate timeline created by The Reverse Flash?" Cisco asks before turning to the time travel experts waiting for an explanation.
"Ok, first of all, Cisco, just because we're time travelers doesn't mean we know everything about time travel. However, I think you're on to something." Ray says.
"So we all got mad at Barry for creating Flashpoint and changing our lives, while this evil speedster guy is over here creating his own alternate timelines without us knowing?" Dig asks.
"Wait so does that mean we were affected too?" Winn asks.
"No, because you're all from another Earth, specifically Earth-38, none of you were affected since each Earth in the multiverse has a different timeline, so changes to our timeline won't affect yours, because you're already living in an alternate timeline respective to our own." Professor Stein explains.
"Cool."
Mazel tov?
Gideon: Hebrew.
[Caitlin gasps]
Gideon: Ancient language of the Jewish people.
Uh-uh. What the hell was that?
Is someone here?
Hello?
Good evening, Barry Allen.
"Gideon?" Sara questions. She doesn't understand how Gideon was in the time vault, if her operating system was installed in the Waverider, and unfortunately linked to the Time Bureau facility.
"Hey, Sara? Isn't that the futuristic AI thingy that was in your spaceship?" Thea asks.
"Yeah, Gideon is a futuristic AI program. But I don't understand how her operating system could be installed in the Time Vault when she's clearly powering and practically running our waverider."
Uh...
H-hi. [stammers]
You know who I am?
Of course.
Barry Allen, director of Central City Police, CSI Division.
Director?
I guess you get a promotion.
Gideon: Also known as The Flash.
Founding member of...
What are you?
I am Gideon, an interactive artificial consciousness.
"AI. Sick." Winn says with a grin.
"That's exactly what I said when I first heard Gideon," Cisco says
"Yeah, when I met Gideon for the first time, Grey practically drugged me and dragged me on the Waverider, I was asleep for hours, I think, and then I woke up and we were in the 1970s trying to track down Vandal Savage," Jax says with a grimace. He LOVED being a Legend, however Grey still dragged him into this life against his own will.
[cell phone vibrates]
Wells is in the building.
What? How do you know that?
I put a tracker on his wheelchair.
Which, if we're wrong about him and he is paralyzed, I'm going to hell for that one.
"Looks like I'm not going to hell after all!!! At least not for that stunt anyhow." Cisco yells triumphantly.
Team Flash snorts at Cisco's reaction.
Classic Cisco, they all thought to themselves.
He's in the Cortex.
Ask questions fast.
Why did he k*ll Nora Allen?
Because he was angry.
About what?
Gideon: That you escaped.
He's on B level. He's coming this way.
What does he want from me?
For you to be The Flash.
Maybe that's why Wells let the particle accelerator explode, so that you could become The Flash.
"Yup, that's exactly why he did it despite Hartley's warning." Cisco grimaces.
"And then Central City turned the rest of the S.T.A.R Labs employees into the bad guys because HE let the accelerator explode. We weren't planning on the machine we helped build for years to explode like that, we just followed his directions and turned the machine on." Caitlin explains.
"And you created a city full of Meta humans in the process of following your fake boss. " Joe continues.
"Well obviously at the time, we didn't even know about the Reverse Flash and Barry wasn't struck by lightning yet, so there was no way of knowing that Thawne was a meta human, let alone an evil speedster. He killed our Harrison Wells and took his place." Caitlin continues trying to explain herself.
Why? I mean, for what reason?
Guys, we got to go. He's almost here.
Hurry.
All right.
Wait a second. Wait.
What if HAL over there tells Wells that we were in here?
That would be bad.
If I can get into its operating system, maybe I can disable its memory core.
Gideon, can you show us where your operating system is?
Gideon: Certainly.
"Damn," That was all that Jax could muster up once he saw Gideon's operating system. The Legends better hope that nothing damaged Gideon's operating system, otherwise it will quite literally cost an arm and a leg to fix.
[laughs]
Yeah. Nope.
That's not gonna happen.
Guys, he's in the corridor.
Gideon, could you just, like, not tell him that we were here?
Gideon: Of course.
I will accept any command given to me by you.
This comment from Gideon catches Agent Sharpe's full attention.
"Why would Gideon accept your commands, Barry?" Sara asks the speedster very confused.
"I think you're about to get the answer to your question, Sara," Barry responds.
Barry.
Come on.
We got to get out of here.
Wait, wait, wait.
Why would you accept my commands?
Because you created me.
The room fell silent. Everyone turned to stare at Barry, who suddenly felt like the spotlight was far too bright.
“What?!” Oliver repeated, his voice rising with disbelief. “You created Gideon? In the future?”
"Apparently."
Mick let out a long, exaggerated sigh. “You just wait. One day we’re gonna find out Barry created a sentient time-traveling toaster.”
"Honestly, knowing Barry's luck with time travel and technology apparently, I wouldn't exactly be surprised about that Mick," Jax says.
Kara snorts.
