Summary
Mark never wore gloves while he worked. It was always his bare hands, free of any covering, that did the job. This led to you frequently being able to hear loud swears or choruses of “ow” that echoed through the halls of the Invincible II as he was shocked by wires or other electrical devices. Sometimes there would be a loud crash as he would pick up a too-hot piece of metal without thinking about it. Because of this, his hands were tough, the skin thick from the many burns that he acquired each day. They also were covered in scars. Long ones, short ones, thick ones, thin ones.
Scars weren’t the only things on Mark’s hands though. He was almost constantly covered in grease or oil. Streaks of the dark substances were permanently stuck on his hands, transferring to things he touched but never quite coming off unless he really scrubbed at them.
In which your Head Engineer is constantly dirty, and you can't help but notice.

Summary
Hank gets a late night call. Four fellow officers are too drunk to drive themselves home, so instead they drive Hank crazy as he makes sure they get home safely. Tina just wanted burritos. Chris was bored. Gavin got invited for some reason. And apparently androids can get drunk, but Connor is incapable at the moment of explaining how that works. Hank just wants them all to shut up.

Summary
There's something... off. About the Captain and their faithful Head Engineer. Like a puzzle piece that's been shoved into the wrong place, it's always a struggle to make a complete picture. As much as the crew and the colonists are weirded out by the feeling of knowing more than you should that follows the Captain and the Head Engineer around, for some reason they don't find themselves to be too concerned about it.
(Or, it would be naive to think that one could bring about the end of the universe without being left with some marks.)
