Chapter Text

  "Mystic Falls School? Really?"

Audrey glanced around as she took her first steps to Mystic Falls in a few months. The evening was dark and seemed to hold the secrets of centuries.

She turned around to meet Rebekah's blue eyes as the blonde met her gaze. The original hymmed, "It is a lame place, isn't it."

"Agreed. I've always wanted to move away," Audrey spoke.

Just then a thud came from the truck behind the blonde and the brunette. The girls turned around to see Stefan awake.

"Ah, he lives," Rebekah stated, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"What happened?" Stefan asked as he looked around.

"You took a beating," Rebekah began. "Klaus has been breaking your neck," Audrey continued. "Quite the temper," Rebekah finished.

"Why did he bring us back to Mystic Falls?" Stefan asked again, pretending to be confused.

"You can stop playing dumb now," Rebekah deadpanned as Stefan was getting up. "It didn't tane him long to figure out wha you've been hiding."

Stefan got up, shaking his head, "I'm not hiding anything. I've done everything Klaus has asked me to."

"No, you just failed to mention that the doppelgänger's still alive," Rebekah said.

Stefan stayed quiet for a while, then trying again, "What about her?" He pointed at Audrey, "How do you know she isn't hiding anything."

Audrey rolled her eyes at the Salvatore while Rebekah just chuckled. "Even if she was, my brother, or I, would never be angry with her. She's family now."

The Salvatore turned around, his back towards Rebekah, "Where is Klaus now?"

"With any luck? Ripping that cow's bloody head off."

That was when Stefan turned around, speedung towards Rebekah and tackeling her to the ground. Audrey looked surprised at that, her eyes narrowing slightly. But she didn't move, only continuing leaning against the truck with her arms crossed.

  "Where is she?" Stefan demanded.

"You really do love her, don't you?" The blonde answered before she grabbed Stefan and slammed him to the truck. "Consider me jealous," and Rebekah stabbed Stefan, leaving the Salvatore in pain.

As the original turned to Audrey, her angry expression faded. A smile came to her face, "Come now, sweets." Rebekah tucked Audrey's arm as the two walked to the school.

"Was that really neccessary?" Audrey raised an eyebrow. "No," Rebekah admitted. "But it was fun." The werewolf could only chuckle.

The duo walked over the school, Rebekah leading the younger one. Their steps echoed in the school halls. The school halls were empty and dark, the whole placed seemed haunted.

Until they were met with Tyler and Caroline making out against the school walls. Audrey let out an awkward sigh, the silence speaking more than words.

But Rebekah spoke, letting go of Audrey's arm as she took steps closer. "You two are adorable."

Caroline and Tyler broke away from the kiss, looking confused. "Do we know you?" Caroline asked, before she spotted Audrey standing further behind. "Audrey? Is that you?"

"You're Caroline, Elena's friend. Which makes you Tyler, the werewolf," Rebekah just randomly stated.

The Forbes took steps forwards to Rebekah, "And who are you?"

Rebekah gave a fake smile, "I'm the new girl." With that she showed her vampire teeth, and rushed forward, snapping Caroline's neck.

Audrey looked down as Rebekah took Tyler's arms in an unyielding grip and began to walk him towards the gym hall. Audrey sighed before she rushed after them.

Elena turned to see Audrey that she hadn't seen in months, not knowing if she was okay. "Audrey?" Elena whispered. "Elena," the werewolf greeted her as she walked towards where they were.

"Get off of me," Tyler snapped as Audrey opened the gym hall door for them, Rebekah flashing Audrey a smile of thanks. "Hush now," the blonde told Tyler.

"I'd like you all to meet my sister," Klaus introduced Rebekah, gesturing to her. "Rebekah. A word of warning, she can be quite mean."

"Don't be an ass," Rebekah said as she pushed Tyler towards Klaus. "Leave him alone," Elena snapped.

"I'm gonna make this very simple," Klaus raised his voice. "Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually." He bit into his wrist, then feeding the blood to Tyler. "I need you to find a way to save my hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler's shake, you'd better hurry," and with that, Klaus snapped Tyler's neck and the werewolf fell to the floor.

Elena let out a gasp of surprise while Audrey's eyes widened as she looked from her soulmate to Tyler and back again.

The room went entirely quiet for just a while. Audrey went to sit down on a bench, Rebekah soon following to sit next to her, Klaus a little bit further away.

"He killed him," Matt spoke. "He's not dead. Klaus' blood will turn him into a vampire."

"And if Bonnie's successful," Klaus called out as he began to walk back towards them, "He'll live through hus transition. Go on then. Go fetch your Grimoires and enchantments and whatnot. I'll hold on to Elena for safekeeping," he grabbed Elena's arm then.

With one last look to Elena, Bonnie and Matt rushed away and into the school hallways.

Audrey hopped off of her seat, with crossed arms, walking towards Rebekah, Klaus and Elena.

Rebekah turned to Elena, "So this is the latest doppelgänger." The blonde looked at her up and down, "The original was much prettier."

"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf-boy elsewhere, would you?" Klaus spoke to his sister.

Rebekah walked to Tyler and grabbed his leg, taking him away. While Klaus spoke to Elena, "Just ignore her. Petty little thing."

Meanwhile Audrey grabbed Klaus' forearm, turning him towards her, her voice bitter, "Tyler? Really? Of all werewolves."

"Come one, love," Klaus joked. "Would you have prefered it to be you?"

"You wouldn't get me turn into a vampire for anything," Audrey snapped. "Though I wouldn't be surprised if you tried anyways."

"I would never hurt you like that," Klaus stated, a slight offend in his voice. Audrey just raised an eyebrow. Elena only looked at her, giving her blank eyes and blinks.

The night went on and on while the chaos kept unleashing.

Audrey had moved to sit down once again, this time Klaus next to her. The werewolf could feel the hybrid's eyes on her. Through their bond, she could also feel the frustration that Klaus felt, just like Klaus could feel the unsureness that Audrey had about herself.

Elena stayed with Dana and Chad, trying to comfort them quietly.

Until a loud thud came from the metal doors, and Stefan Salvatore stormed inside.

"Stefan," Elena breathed out as she stood up.

Stefan kept his eyes on Klaus, "Klaus."

"Come to save your damsel, mate?" The hybrid asked.

"I came to ask for your forfiveness and pledge my loyalty," the Salvatore opened up.

"Well, you broke that pledge once already," Klaus hymmed.

"Elena means nothing to me anymore," Stefan argued. "And whatever you ask of me, I will do."

Klaus considered it before he got up, "Fair enough. Let's drink on it."

Audrey stood up at that, "Klaus." But Klaus held up a finger, "Just wait, love."

Then Klaus stormed towards Dana and Chad, gesturing to them, "Kill them. What are you waiting for? Kill them."

Elena cut in, "No. Stefan, don't. He's not gonna hurt me. He already said that-"

But she was cut off by Klaus' slap on her that sent her to the ground.

In a second, Stefan was rushing towards Klaus. But the hybrid was quicker, grabbing his throat. "She means nothing to you? Your lies just keep piling up."

"Let her go," Stefan rasped out. "I'll do whatever you want. You have my word."

"Your word doesn't mean much. I lived by your word all summer, during which time I never had to resort to this." Klaus pupils dialated as he compelled Stefan, "Stop fighting."

"Don't do this. Don't do this," Stefan whispered.

"I didn't want to. All I wanted was your allegiance. Now, I'm gonna have to take it." The hybrid's pupils dialated again, "You will do exactly as I say, when I say it and you will not run. You will not hide. You will simply just obey." And so he let go of Stefan's throat.

  "No. Stefan," the doppelgänger whispered.

"Klaus, just stop. This is getting ridiculous," Audrey said.

Klaus gestured to Dana and Chad, "Now, kill them, Ripper."

Stefan eyes turned bloodred with veins as he rushed to Dana and fed from her until she dropped to the ground, dead.

After Dana, Stefan began to feed from Chad, until he was dead, too.

"It's always nice to see a vampire in his true element," Klaus chit-chatted with Elena. "The species has become such a broody lot."

Elena shook her head, "No. You did this to him."

"I invited him to the party. He's the one dancing on the table."

Just then Rebekah stormed inside, looking furious. "Where is it? Where's my necklace?" She demanded loudly.

"What are you talking about?" Klaus asked from her.

"She has my necklace. Look," Rebekah gave the phone to Klaus.

With a single glance, Klaus noticed it. He looked up to Stefan and Elena, "Well, well. More lies." He turned his head towards where Audrey sat, "You knew of this?" Though his voice was gentler. The werewolf only shook her head.

"Where is it?" Rebekah gritted through her teeth.

"I don't have it anymore," Elena said.

"You're lying!" In a second, Rebekah's fangs were on Elena's neck. And in a second, Klaus had pulled her away, "Knock it off!"

"Make her tell me where it is, Nik!"

Klaus turned to Elena, kneeling down in front of her, "Where's the necklace? Be honest."

"I'm telling the truth. Katherine stole it," Elena explained while holding her neck.

The hybrid stayed quiet for a while, thinking, "Katerina. Of course." He stood up, "Well, that's unfortunate. If we had the necklace, it'd make things easier for your witch. Since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?"

And so Klaus walked to set a timer to exactly 20 minutes. "Twenty mimutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, i want you to feed again. Only this time I want you to feed on Elena. You know you want to." Klaus told to Stefan.

"Klaus. Don't do this to him," Elena begged.

"No one leaves. If she tries to run, fracture her spine," Klaus only said as he made his way to Audrey, taking her arm and walking away.

Audrey tried, and failed, to struggle out of it, "This is insane."

  "Of course."

Finally, Audrey shook Klaus off, "I'll go to outside. Have your fun." Without waiting a response, the werewolf made her way away, her steps echoing in the hallway. The night was dark and full of terrors. But this night, those terrors did not reach Audrey.

○●○●○

Audrey sat on top of some car for what felt like forever. And it was like an eternity. Until she heard the familiar voice of Rebekah.

  "There you are."

Audrey turned her head to see Rebeka hopping to sit on a car next to her. "Turns out the doppelgänger is not the problem, her blood is the solution," Rebekah stated.

  "Oh," Audrey breathed out.

  "Seems so," Klaus spoke.

"How did you know?" Rebekah turned to Klaus.

"You know how much the Original Witch hated me. Do you honestly think I would do anything than the opposite of what she says?" Klaus said to Rebekah. In this, Audrey felt like the outstander. Better that way, she thought to herself.

"A thousand years in the grave and she's still screwing with you," the blonde vampire said.

"It makes sense if you think about it from her perspective," Klaus turned back to Rebekah. "It wa sheir fail-safe in case I ever broke the hybrid curse. The doppelgänger had to die for me to become a hybrid, but id she was dead-"

"Then you couldn't use her blood to sire yourself a new species," Rebekah finished.

"Leaving me alone for all time."

"Is that what this is about? Your obsession with hybrids? You just don't want to be alone?" Rebekah spoke.

"Wha I want, is to take my girl-" he gestured to Audrey who raised eyebrows "take the doppelgänger, take my hybrid, get the hell out of this one-pony town."

As he turned to leave, he turned back to face Rebekah, "Why don't you get the truck? I'll get Elena." Rebekah only hopped off and walked away to get the truck.

And as Rebekah was gone, Damon Salvatore appeared.

"Well, look who finally decided to show up to the party," Klaus said.

  "Where is she?" Damon asked.

"Elena? She's making a donation to a greater cause," Klaus told him. "Can't let you interfere, mate."

"Then you'll have to kill me," Damon said.

"Oh, I would love to, but I made a pledge to your brother, and unlike him, I keep my word. Although, thinking about it now, he probably doesn't care that much anymore."

With that Klaus slammed Damon to the car, but before the hybrid could attack properly, Damon spoke, "Don't you wanna know about your friend Mikael."

That stopped Klaus, "What do you know about Mikael?"

"Just that he knows you're here," Damon explained.

  "You're bluffing."

"Katherine and I found him. Consider it our leverage," Damon rasped out.

Klaus threw Damon into another care then, sped to Audrey and sped the two away, leaving Damon alone.

○●○●○

Klaus had made the decision to leave Rebekah behind and take Audrey with him.

Right now, the two drove in a car that went further and further from Mystic Falls.

Audrey sat on the second seat and Klaus was the one driving. The werewolf stared out into the dark night while sipping the car Klaus had gotten her so she could stay awake.

"Why are you taking me with you?" Audrey broke the silence.

Klaus glanced at her, then back at the dark road. "Is it so hard to believe that I care about you?"

The werewolf let out a small chuckle, under the caffeine, "Yes."

Klaus smiled at Audrey's chuckle. A real smile, not a smirk. "I can understand that."

The silence of the night was on again, the darkness surrounding them. Her hazel eyes examined the moving surroundings.

Then Klaus spoke once again. His voice was quiet and soft, "Just know that I would never hurt you."

"I know that," Audrey whispered back.

That was when the silence fell between them for that moment. The darkness seemed to get closer, and the only thing that was heard, was the moving car.

Notes:

As you read just now, Klaus took Rey with him. And that means... I'll get to write just those two for a while.

I feel like Audrey wouldn't fit in the coming chapters if they were by the episodes. So, I've decided that I shall write this another storyline with just Rey and Nik. Because they are my babies and my fav ship<3

So the next chapters will just be me writing some shit. That's it.
