[13:27- Above the Mushroom Kingdom. From Bowser’s Airship]

Koopa Troopa: Airship due south over the Mushroom Kingdom. We got her.

Kamek: This is Kamek! Report status of Princess Peach, over!

Hammer Bro: We’ve got everything under control. [thinking] Bowser will be so proud of me, I’ll be lined up for that promotion for sure... [surprised] What?!

Kamek: What’s going on?! Stop boondoggling and tell me what’s happening this instant!

Hammer Bro: The Princess is gone! She's taken out everyone aboard and...

Kamek: WHAT?!

Paratroopa: What in the world?!

[Peach busts out of the Airship and grabs onto the side of it]

Freeze! What do you think you're doing!? Get that Princess!

Peach: [Hops on top of the Airship and unfolds her trusty Parasol]

Talk about a low budget flight! No food? No movie? That’s no way to treat a royal, count me out!

[She jumps off the Airship and glides into the city using her parasol]

Woo-hoo!

[Cue Kingdom Escape]

Paratroopa: Attention all units. Princess Peach seen heading south. Block all major roads and capture her!

[After managing to outrun a rampaging Banzai Bill, Kamek arrives to stop her himself. The Mushroom Kingdom is seen in disarray, with Toads scattering all over the place.]

Peach: What kind of game of tag is this?! I better go warn Mario! [She looks over to see Kamek] Bowser’s second-in-command is here too? Looks like I don’t have much choice…

[After Kamek’s Defeat]

Peach: [Looks up] What?

[A hooded, silver-haired girl clad in purple is seen next to the defeated Kamek, holding a Power Star.]

Are you… who I think you are?

Skylar: [Holding up the Power Star] So… it all begins with this... a tiny Star containing the ultimate power...

Peach: [Surprised] That's a... Power Star!

[She makes her way toward Skylar]

Now I know what's going on, Bowser must have mistaken me for the likes of you! Where do you think you're going with that!?

[Begins to run, chasing after Skylar]

Hey, come back here! I need answers!

Skylar: Hah…

[She activates the Power Star and quickly zooms past Peach]

Peach: [Surprised] Oh my... she's fast! Wait… this doesn’t seem natural. She must be using the Power Star!

Skylar: [On top of a building. She finally takes off her hood revealing her face.]

Peach: Skye?!

Skylar: That’s Skylar to you, the world's ultimate Warrior and destined hero of the Mushroom Kingdom! I’m on a long and arduous mission to prove my worth, and I don’t need any distractions like you to hold me back... farewell, old friend...

[She uses the Star Power to warp away]

Peach: [Blinded by the flash]... wait… what sort of mission do you mean? You don’t know what you’re doing! Stop!

[As Peach opens her eyes, she is surrounded by a plethora of Bowser’s minions. Bowser Jr. flies in using his father’s Clown Car.]

Bowser Jr.: Don't move! Hands up in the air, papa’s been waiting for you all day! Now move it!

Peach: Huh?

[She looks over to the camera and shrugs]

Not again!

Chapter Text

[Enter Rosalina]

[11:08 New Donk City - Rosalina and Mayor Pauline are seen in the latter’s condo with a Grand Star, having a jam session with Rosalina playing a guitar and Pauline playing a saxophone.]

Rosalina: Thank you for helping me recover that Grand Star, Mayor Pauline. I don’t know how that fell down here.

Luma: [Giggles happily]

Pauline: Don’t mention it, a friend of Mario is a friend of mine too! I didn’t know you were also a musician.

[Suddenly, Captain Syrup snatches the Grand Star with a claw that descends from her flying contraption.]

Pauline: Hey… what happened?!

Rosalina: This is too suspicious… show yourself!

Syrup: I came here following a signal from the Star... if I'm not mistaken, this is a Grand Star, is it not?

Rosalina: Who is that?

Pauline: That's Captain Syrup. Leader of the Black Sugar Gang and feared pirate, she must be trying to make a fortune on your Star!

Syrup: [Preparing to leave] That's right, and no busy-bodied diplomats are gonna stop me. I'll be taking this! And as a thank you, here’s a present from yours truly!

[She drops a Bob-omb down towards the two, the two jump in shock.]

Luma: [Scared, hiding behind Rosalina] Eeee…

Rosalina: Not if I can help it! [Rosalina then quickly uses her wand to throw the bomb back at Syrup, and then uses the wand’s gravity-bending magic to steal back the Grand Star. Syrup is blown right out the window, but the Grand Star was unfortunately damaged during the explosion.]

Pauline: Great work!

[The two high-five.]

Now… what was that all about? Oh no… the Star…

Rosalina: I had to take that risk to prevent the Grand Star from falling into the wrong hands. Not to fear, it will be quite easy to restore its power – just as the cosmos constantly change and repair itself, so will this Grand Star. And with that, I can go back home to my Observatory.

Syrup: [To herself] Hmmm... interesting... [sneaks off]

[Rescuing Peach]

[11:56 Bowser’s Keep: Daisy is seen speeding down Rainbow Road in her Wild Wing.]

Daisy: There it is… Bowser’s Keep. Yeesh, it’s a lot tackier in person... Peach terrorizing her own kingdom? That’s hilarious! Hold on, girl! I'm on my way!

[Looks down and spots Mario being pursued by Syrup]

Wait… that’s Mario! And that Captain Syrup too! I gotta help him out!

[The duel between Daisy and Syrup ends in a stalemate.]

Syrup: This time, I'll let you go. But the next time we meet...You won't be so lucky! [Leaves]

Mario: Daisy, you-a did it! But... what are you doing here?

Daisy: Thought you needed some backup.

Mario: I know, but I'm-a here to save-a the Princess, and-a Luigi!

Daisy: Luigi too? This is too weird!

Mario: Syrup must have something to do with this… Let’s-a go!

Daisy: Yeah! Hey, I know! You nab Peach, I’ll bust your brother out. Deal?

[She rushes off, ready to rumble.]

Mario: Wait! We don’t-a have a plan!

[He follows after Daisy]

[Escape from Bowser's Keep]

Peach: [Pacing around in her cell and notices Mario approaching her] Mario?

Mario: Have-a no fear, Princess!

[Performs one of his classic Super Jumps]

Super Mario is here!

Peach: How did you get past Bowser? How did you get here so fast?

Mario: Hmm… good-a question, when I got to the throne room, Bowser was gone. Jr. was-a crying! And if you must-a know… I caught a ride with Daisy!

Peach: Mario, I don’t think you understand… I’m here because Bowser’s after someone else!

Mario: You don’t-a mean… that axe-wielding lunatic in boots?

Peach: It’s Skylar… wait… oh no… Where is she now?!

Mario: Mamma mia! You-a know her?

Peach: She… she’s my childhood friend…

Mario: [Caught by surprise at her statement] Childhood friend?

[He breaks Peach's cell door with his trusty hammer, Peach walks out]

That-a does not seem like a good friend, she was-a here with Captain Syrup…

Peach: Captain Syrup? Could… she be the reason Bowser’s gone missing?

Mario Hmm…

[Turns around and sees that Peach is gone]

Huh? Princess! Hey, wait for me!

[He breaks the fourth wall to shrug at the camera, amused and clearly crushing, and then runs off after her.]
