Ash and Misty were sitting in what was an empty blimp. It was only the them and of course, Pikachu, who had his own seat
“Hey, where’s our food,” Ash both complained and tried to get someone’s attention. Surely there had to be a crew for this airship, right?
“We’re hungry here,” Misty complained as well. Pikachu followed suit, probably asking for ketchup. Two adults stepped out in uniform who looked oddly familiar. A man with short blue hair and a woman with long, magenta hair.
“You’re hungry, you say,” inquired the woman.
“Well, I hope you like candy,” said the man, an almost sinister voice coming through.
“As in bars,” a Meowth said in glee.
A talking Meowth? Oh no, thought Ash and Misty. They heard the sound of chains as a cage surrounded all three. They gasped as it landed with a loud thud, scaring Pikachu. Ash leapt to his feet, grabbing the bars.
“What is this,” Ash challenged. Instead of getting a straight answer, the man and woman laughed
“Passengers, prepare for for trouble,” the woman said, in almost a sing-song voice.
“If you’re flying coach, make it double,” rhymed the man.
Oh, no, Ash and Misty both thought. It’s them.
“To protect the world from devastation.”
“To unite all people within our nation.”
“To extend our reach to the stars above.”
“Jessie!”
“James!”
“Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!”
“Surrender now or prepare to fight!”
“Meowth, in flight,” the talking Pokémon added. Ash and Misty looked straight at Team Rocket, with both exasperation and annoyance on their faces.
“I give up,” muttered Ash.
“Why can’t you three leave us alone,” Misty angrily called out.
“We’ll leave you alone when—“ but Jessie stopped herself. “Hey, wait, where’s the other twerp who hangs around you two?”
Ash and Misty looked surprised, noticing Team Rocket’s observation.
“Oh, you mean Brock,” answered Ash.
James took his own chin between his fingers, a sly look crossing his lips.
“Jessie, I think we’ve actually caught a very romantic pair of creatures in our cage.”
“You mean—? Awww… how cute!”
“They’re loveboids,” teased Meowth.
Misty was about to retort, when Ash pulled her aside and whispered into her ear.
“Instead of denying it, why don’t we play along?”
Misty’s anger turned from Team Rocket to Ash. “Are you kidding,” she whispered back in a huffed tone.
“It’ll throw them off, and start to turn the tables in our favor,” Ash answered, trying to calm Misty. “Besides, I know you can act as you’ve done performances before we even met.”
“What about you,” quietly argued Misty.
“Pallet Town Children’s Theater,” Misty was surprised at this, seeing how Ash never told her. “So, c’mon, roll with me here.”
Misty considered it for a few seconds, then nodded. Team Rocket was growing impatient as the two kids seemed to ignore them.
“Hey, hey, hey, what are you two’s whisperin’ about,” questioned Meowth. Now it was his turn to be annoyed.
“So what if we are ‘loveboids’”, asked Ash, his hand reaching to Misty’s. He gave it a slight squeeze, and Misty squeezed Ash’s in return. Team Rocket was taken aback. Sure they were ready to keep on making fun of the pair, but for Ash and Misty to confess? That was very unexpected.
Jessie shook her head, getting the feeling out of her system. “If you really are together, why don’t you prove it to us with a kiss?”
“Yeah right,” huffed Ash, turning away. A blush crossed his face.
“I’d never do it in front of my sisters, even if they begged, let alone you three,” said Misty, doing the same. Their hands tightened together more, trying to protect each other from this verbal attack.
Jessie, James, and Meowth stared at them, taken aback. Were they really together? In Team Rocket’s confusion, Ash commanded Pikachu to use Thunderbolt.
But before Pikachu could fire off the attack, Jessie stopped them. “Hold it! This blimp is a giant, flammable gas tank.” Upon hearing that, Ash and Pikachu backed off.
James took over. “If your Pikachu uses Thunderbolt-” he started.
“We all go ‘Pika-BOOM’,” Meowth finished. Ash and Misty could only growl. “Now, time to hand over dat Pikachu.”
“Jiggly!” Out of nowhere, a certain Jigglypuff appeared in front of everyone. Their faces turned from surprise to horror. It took out her microphone and began to use Sing. For Ash, Misty, and Pikachu, everything faded to black as the airship began to lose altitude where it crashed onto Tangelo island.
