Chapter 1: The very beginning
Chapter Text
When Neteyam was born very different. He was born with dark gray skin, black stripes, orangish yellow eyes and orangish red speckles that glow when it gets dark. He was also born with a message from Eywa; ‘This boy different among the people but will be a strong, and mighty warrior’. While Neteyam grew up he got very different reactions about his appearance and his skill level. Many of the Omaticaya people thought that he was strange or that he was just like the demon people and that he would turn on them but in the end, they never did anything because he was the son of the Olo’eyktan. Neteyam attracted all sorts of weird creatures. For example during his Iknimaya the ikran that chose him was mostly black but with some dark red and light orange in some places, he named her Vitani. She was abnormally large and very strong. Another example is when he was hunting in the forest with Neytiri when they came across a hurt young palulukan (Thanator) that looked completely black but in the dark had stripes that glowed red. He took him home and cared for him until he healed and tried to set him free after but he would not leave neteyam’s side. After that he made tsaheylu with him and named him Kilvan (river). Kilvan is much bigger now. When Neteyam found out that they were leaving the forest he was afraid, he was afraid of what would happen to his family. The day before they left Neteyam was arguing with his father about bringing Kilvan with them. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring the palulukan, he will not fit on the back of Bob or Vitani.” “What if I made something?” Jake raised an eyebrow. “Like what?” “ I-I don’t know,” Neteyam took a long pause, “something that Vitani can carry” Neteyam had said with uncertainty in his voice. Jake gave him a nod and walked away. And by the time they had to leave he did, Neteyam had made something that Vitani could hold on to that would allow Kilvan to be carried to their new home. Wherever that was. (Image links are in the note)
Chapter 2: First look
Summary:
After 5 hours of flying they had finally reached an island, the closer they got the more people they could see. When they finally touched down the other Na’vi had surrounded them, some with spears and confused faces. Others had baskets and curious expressions with a little worry. Then they noticed Neteyams skin and eyes and started to talk. The crowd started to part and out came two boys.

Chapter Text
POV: Neteyam
When we landed I had a cloak that covered me from head to toe and even dragged a bit. The other Na’vi were quiet, they just stared at us but as soon as I lifted the hood of my cloak they all started talking and staring. I felt myself wanting to shrink and make myself smaller but I held my head up and straightened my back. I could see Kiri trying to cover herself, she was visibly uncomfortable. I started to take off my cloak and I put it on her to cover her more. Tuk was excited to be in a new place but mom was keeping her by her side. Lo’ak looked frustrated and I don’t blame him, he doesn’t fully understand why we left and is to stubborn to ask anyone. I walked over and stood by him to at least bring some form of comfort. He looked at me and gave me a slight nod before the crowd started to part. Then these two boys came out. One was tall and lean and his hair was very peculiar with it sticking straight up and it was very curly. The other boy… as soon as I saw him I shivered a little bit and I felt my face start to heat up. He was handsome and he was probably taller than me, his hair was up in a bun but you could tell that his hair was long or at least medium length but obviously curly and thick. As I was looking at him we made eye contact and I signed ‘I see you’ and Lo’ak followed with the motion. He stared at me for a moment longer then he looked at my brother and looked at the other boy and they circled us. Then the one with the peculiar hair pointed and said “Look at their tails, how are they able to swim with such a small tail?”
The tall one looked at us again and said “Look at their hands they have demon blood”
I felt myself frown and my tail flicking with annoyment at the fact that they had said that about us. I have to keep myself in check, I can feel my fathers eyes on me watching my reaction.
“Look at him, he doesn't look like any of them he's some kind of freak”
As soon as he said that I looked away and I knew this place wasn't going to be different, they would all still view me as a freak. Maybe that's all I'll ever be.
POV: Aonung
I was in the middle of weaving a basket when I heard the horn. I don't think I’ve heard this one before but Rotxo might know. I started to follow the crowd when I saw Rotxo. “Rotxo”
He turned around and motioned for me to come over. I managed to get by his side and we continued to follow the crowd. “Do you know what that horn means?”
“You are next to be Olo'eyktan and you don't know what the horn means?”
I get him the look of shut up and tell me. “It means that someone has come to the island and there not one of us”
After a couple of minutes we had made it to the front of the crowd and the first thing I could see was a mother with a young excited girl pressed against her side protectively. Then what I figured was the father stood tall and with a calm face. Then a tall girl with short hair and a long shawl. I guess you would call it i have never seen something like that before. While I was looking at her I could feel eyes on me. I turned to find who was staring at me when my eyes met these gorgeous orange and yellow eyes that complimented his dark gray skin and black stripes with orange speckles. He had his hair in long braids with a couple of feathers. He is breathtaking, his outfit made him look even better. He had a bandolier on that accentuated his small waist and something on his head that I have never seen before either. The front of it went to a point with what looks like small translucent wings. He had a red loincloth with some large holes in the front but they didnt go all the way through it. He also had these things on his feet: it was made of metal and string and some beads and wrapped up his legs a little bit. Overall he was gorgeous, after he signed ‘I see you’ I noticed that there was someone next to him. He had his hair tied back also in braids, he had more of an irritated and or bored expression but I don't really care. We had started to circle them when Rotxo turned and said “Look at their tails, how are they able to swim with such a small tail?”
I looked at their tails but I noticed something else too. “Look at their hands, they have demon blood”
As soon as I said that I noticed the older boy's reaction, he frowned and his tail kept flicking. I felt kinda bad now but it was true. “Look at him, he doesn't look like any of them he's some kind of freak”
When I heard Rotxo say that I frowned and turned and hit him in the side. “That was too far”
The older boy had heard, I could tell when I looked back at him and he had his head slightly down and his ears back. When I stopped looking at him, I looked at Rotxo and he was looking at me with confusion.
