Faraway Town

Kel thought he was the best King of Cards player around town. After all, he did snag himself some of the most valuable and powerful cards there is. He was practically unbeatable and he took that status as a badge of honor. It wasn't until today when some random kid named Angel walked up to him in the park and challenged him to a duel. Kel entertained the kid's requests since it's not like this was the first time someone wanted to dethrone him. Surely, this would be a mere cakewalk. He was wrong.

"Come on, dude! How are you so good at this!?!" He yelled in sheer exasperation as Angel knocked out yet another card from the table.

"You may be a decent player in your home turf but I am a master at this! You cannot defeat me, the great Angel of Cards! I'm the best," Angel proudly boasted while posing like a superhero.

God, this kid reminds him of Mikhail so much; he even acts so overconfident like him too. Ugh, just thinking about Mikhail drives him to wipe that smirk out of Angel's face even more. Time to show him who's the boss around here!

"I choose Drifter Knight, go!"

"Oh yeah? Well, I got Bug Knight and his effect will stop your lame-o drifter!"

Oh shi-uh... shoot! He now has 3 gems, same as Kel. It's anyone's game now. If only he can bust through these buffer cards....

Trying to save face, he tried his hardest to put on a confident smile and seem cool. "Heh, th-that's what you think. You see, I actually did not reveal my secret weapon until you forced me to." Admittedly, the few remaining cards on his deck aren't too shabby but Kel still isn't sure if they're enough to get that last gem and survive the next round to win.

"Wait, what? You actually do?!" Angel was so shocked that he's actually panicking a bit. Somehow, Kel managed to pull off a bluff. Now's his chance to seize this opportunity!

Carefully, he pulls out his favorite card, Baller Knight. It allows him to put a ball as a barrier on the board. If he placed the ball correctly, it should prevent one of Angel's cards from stealing a gem.

He thought that putting the ball to the right should be enough to secure a narrow victory but unfortunately, Angel has his own ace in the hole.

"Go, Roaring Knight!"

As the Roaring Knight decimates the ball and grabs the gem anyway, Kel sat silent as the kid loudly cheers about his guaranteed victory. How? How did he get the limited-edition card? Weren't there only 4 copies of it made? He kept pondering as the next round concludes and Angel inevitably wins. Words cannot describe how he felt after no longer being the best player in town.

SwordGirl523's Cool Blog #24
08/17/2006

Guys! Charlie said she wants to join baseball with me! Ever since she met my other friends Kim and Vance, she's a bit more active and more willing to do risky things like TP-ing houses. Anyway, I bet that she'll be a great catcher!

Other than that, Kel has officially been beaten by an 11 year old kid at King of Cards. You should've seen the utter despair on his face when I met him a few minutes after his defeat. That's what he gets for constantly beating me at that game! >:)

For lunch, I just ate some leftovers from yesterday. That chicken noodle soup still tastes pretty good, though.

Before I finish today's blog, I wanted to tell you something about my friend Hero. A few hours ago, I got him to listen to some songs that I've been listening to lately. Unfortunately, he didn't like any of them. I swore he would at least like "Bring Me To Life". He listens to what I can only describe as dad music. You know, stuff from the 60s-70s. That sorta stuff.

Peace! :)

OrangeGuy: Shut up! I was just going easy on the kid. Next time, I'll definitely beat his ass. Just wait and you'll see!
Wallflower: It's alright, Kel. I can be there to cheer you on during the rematch. :)
CandyGirl: Hmmm, I wonder what your friend Kim looks like? She must be like super cool and s■■t.
SwordGirl523: Kim, you can't fool me.
OrangeGuy: Your baseball team is totally gonna fail so hard, dude. I'm gonna be the MVP of my basketball team!
CandyGirl: Alright, bro.
Super Sandwich: Aubrey, I'm not that old!!!!
OrangeGuy: Dude, you're basically the dad of our friend group. You even act like a dad sometimes!
SwordGirl523: For once, I have to agree with Kel. Even if he insulted my team.
Super MAR1: Wait, what does that make me then? The mom of the group?
SwordGirl523: Nah, you're more like a big sister to me.
Super Sandwich: Then shouldn't I be like a big brother?
OrangeGuy: Whatever you say, gramps XD
Super MAR1: You're more like a cutie patootie to me! :3
SolarDreams: No one says you can't be a big brother and a dad at the same time.
Super Sandwich: Uhhhh, thanks?????

Notes:

* Angel is almost 12 when everyone else in the Scooter Gang is at least 13.

* If Kel had stayed in Texas instead of moving over to Faraway Town, I imagine that he would basically sound like Ellis from Left 4 Dead 2.

* I can imagine all of the main cast doing that one Tenna dance. You know the one.

*Question of the chapter: What are your favorite chapters so far and why?
