Eternal Damnation

Chapter 19: Chance III - Determination

Summary:

It’s tough confronting close ones over topics that may seem scary to you, but you got this.

Notes:

ABOUT NO CHAPTERS BEING POSTED FOR A WHILE, the screen to the device I write my chapters on broke badly, so I had to wait a while to get another screen and a protector. Said device also has all my main paaswords and gmails and stuff on it so I couldn’t access a lot for a while.. I am back and will keep writing more and more!! Also coming back to 1,000 hits was insane.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Suddenly I feel like I can speak to him.

He’s only in the cabin right outside, yet he feels so far to get to, every step feeling like walking through a 3 foot tall layer of snow.

I stand at the door, extremely nervous.

My hands are shaking, my mind blank.

I don’t know what to do now.

I’ve come this far, yet traveled so little, but if i’d I walk away, I’d feel guilty forever.

For not being able to support my part be in his current state.

That’s why I need to do this.

knock..

No going back.

knock..

Whatever happens, happens.

knock..

No changing that.

I hear a low, tired voice come from the other side, “what..”

I feel a surprised to be hearing his voice again, and gasp.

“Ell-Elliot..” I put my hand on the door.

“It’s me, Ch-Chance.” I try to sound gentle and comforting, but I can’t help but sound weak and scared. “Please open the door.”

I hear a faint whimper come from the other side, followed by shaky breathing.

“No no no no no.. Please..” He pleads.

“Oh, I-I don’t mean to scare you.. I just want to talk.” Words seem to slide side off my tongue, but I can’t even think of what I’m going to say before I say it.

He stands closer to the other side of the door, as both his voice and breathing get louder. He sniffles before saying, “Okay..”

The doorknob shakes and turns to the left, before the door slowly slides open.

“Elliot..”
