   after the events of saw (2004), Adam is saved, but then falls into a deep depression and kills himself, becoming a ghost, doomed to haunt his old apartment for eternity. Lawrence, after his near death experience, can now see ghosts - Alison divorces him and he loses custody of Diana. he quits his job, unable to deal with all the ghosts/former patients that he can now see - now working at a gas station and suffering ptsd, he moves into the cheapest apartment he can find, that, unbeknownst to him, houses the ghost of Adam. hijinks ensue
