Chapter Text
Doombringer sighed, shedletsky had been ‘slacking off’ as he had regretfully put it.
Being the assistant manager of ‘weapons’, the excess work fell onto itself, on top of xis responsibilities of holding the banhammer.
Xe had already made up its mind that xe’d have to confront him, which he had already been dreading, though on top of that it would have to FIND him.
After forming a somewhat sound plan he stood up, stretching while preparing to walk for a while.
He put on his helmet, concealing the ears he had painfully grown mere days ago, so far it’d been successful at keeping them hidden, aswell as the tail that had made itself known when he woke up in the morning.
It left the arena it had remained in for some time, the air cooling as xe headed to the first stop on xis list.
He was surprised to see the storage unit wide open, but even more confused at the fact that shedletsky seemed to be in the storage unit, and talking to someone.
Its ear twitched against the bucket, trying to listen in though xe was too far away.
“Hey, shedletsky” it tried to make its tone warm as it projected its voice, it coming across more as an accusation though.
The yellow admin visibly scrambled forwards, looking extremely tired and clearly trying to hide something.
“Oh, doombringer- what brings you here” he chuckled nervously as doombringer cocked xis head at the obviously suspicious behavior.
He wasn’t going to press though, his eyes set on getting shedletsky to not dump an extra workload onto it, even if unintentionally.
“You’ve been slacking off, ive had to work overtime these last few days to keep up” it again tried to make its voice lighter, though this time the tone was seemingly noted by shedletsky as the other relaxed significantly.
Its ear twitched again, this time in frustration.
“Sorry doom- ive been caught up with alot of stuff lately, ill try to do more” shedletsky scratched the back of his neck nervously, averting his eyes.
“Thank you, i can handle the workload, i would have just liked a bit more than- no heads up” doombrinder deadpanned, earning a light laugh from shedletsky.
“No that’s completely fair, i should’ve tried to keep up more”
“Look if you couldnt keep up because of personal issues thats fine” xe reiterated, shedletskys eyes met xis as xe said this.
“I.. uh- do appreciate you doing the work, even if you shouldn’t have”
“Yeah, its- fine, i just wanted to let you know” Doombringer was tired, and hoped that was enough to make shedletsky at least try to catch up.
“Well ive got to turn in now- its getting incredibly late” it stated.
Shedletsky seemed to look around, as if he hadn’t realized the sun was setting.
“Night shedletsky” doombinger said, walking towards the hq, it not being far from the storage units.
Shedletsky never responded from what doom bringer could hear.
His ears uncomfortably pinned by his hat.
It shook its head as it entered the front entrance to the HQ, heading to the shift manager clockwork to well- clock out.
Doombringer was amused at the seemingly unintentional pun, tail wagging as if to agree.
Xe went to the elevator, only to be met with dusekkar, who merely floated out, not sparing a glance nor word to doombringer.
He could sense dusekkar was upset, and he didnt want to upset him further- dusekkar was the type to talk when he wanted to- at least thats what doombringer had gathered from experience.
It shook off the worry it felt as it entered the elevator and went to floor two, the stairs being on nearly the opposite side of the building of the check in/check out office.
As xe approached the ‘window’ clockwork seemingly already knew xe was coming as they handed out a sign out sheet immediately.
“Here ya go!” They exclaimed in their clearly customer service voice.
Doombringer took the paper, and grabbed a pen from the ‘clean’ pen holder.
It quickly signed the paper, only stopping to check the time before handing the paper back.
“Night clockwork” he said turning to walk back to the elevator.
Clockwork had said something about staying safe which doombringer could only nod to, exhaustion washing over xim.
Xe eventually made it out the front entrance and pulled out xis admin panel and typed in xis home coordinates.
He suddenly appeared back in his house, thoroughly drained, barely making it up the stairs before collapsing on his bed, not even bothering to take his ‘armor’ off.
It would hurt like hell in the morning but it couldnt bring itself to have the energy.
