Chapter Text
Aleksandr found Ivan shortly after leaving the tent where he had left Alina, the words he heard from her ringing in his ears.
The anger in his veins burned more and more intensely, and his racing heart was what caught the heartbreaker's attention.
"Ivan, I want everything on General Chernov."

The wait and anticipation made Alina's stomach churn, a thousand hypotheses about what Aleksander might be doing swirling through her mind as she waited in her tent.
Her Sasha, her friend, confidant, ally... Love.
Alina shuddered as the realization dawned on her, the situation as clear as day, so obvious she wondered how she hadn't realized it before: Alina loved Aleksander.
How had it come to this? Alina didn't know. What would she do now? Alina didn't know. Did he feel the same way?!
For that was the real question, the most important of all, and the one Alina feared asking most: did Sasha feel something for her? He certainly cared deeply for her, and his quest for revenge on her behalf demonstrated it, but... did he love her?

That night, Aleksander returned to his tent and found Alina asleep in his bed, unable to take his eyes off the woman he'd killed two men for that day. Aleksander sat on the edge of the bed, wondering what to do next.
He'd killed General Chernov and Malyen Oretsev, done it in a way that no one could discover, and now Alina could sleep peacefully knowing her tormentors were no longer breathing. But what now? What should he do? He needed to return to the capital sooner or later; his plan to seize the throne was in full swing, and he needed him there to take care of everything.
"Do you want to go with me, Alinoshka? Do you want to go to the capital?" he asked in a whisper, even though he knew Alina wouldn't answer. But suddenly, he heard a sleepy voice say:
"I want to go everywhere with you."
