Chapter Text
"Attention, Crew of the Galactic Way!"
The squeaky voice of Searchingway roused the Warrior of Light from her slumber.
"I am pleased to announce that we have reached our destination, and arrived at a brand new exoplanet!"
Stifling a yawn, the savior of Eorzea made her way to the front of the craft, giving greetings to the other crewmembers as she passed them, until finally she reached the front. It was then, as the last vestiges of sleep finally cleared away, that she beheld the planet in all its splendor.
"it... It can't be.."
From their seated positions, the two Lopporits assigned to the mission turned to face her. "Is something wrong?" The red tunic-ed one, Namingway asked.
"When I signed on for this, I told myself I would have to be ready for just about anything. New monstrosities, grand ruins of peoples lost to the Song of the End..."
Summer Rose looked down at the world, around which a solitary satellite steadily orbited despite its shattered state.
"But the one thing I wasn't prepared to find... was home."
Notes:
Hey everybody! This one is a bit different from my usual fair, more of a loose connection of moments, not entirely in order.

Were you to ask him, Taiyang Xiao Long would be the first to admit that he wasn’t perfect. Like any huntsman of his level of experience, he had his demons. And he liked to think that, barring the regrettable span of time 9 and a half years ago, he had them fairly well handled. But as he sat by the fireplace on a chilly December night, waiting for his youngest daughter to return home from her own attempts to make peace with things, his mind couldn’t help but drift back to old questions. Whys and whats and hows he still wasn’t sure he wanted to know the answers to.
He was pulled from his musings by a knock at the door. Huh, that was odd. He wasn’t expecting Ruby back for another half an hour. And he hadn’t heard the telltale sound of rifle fire that would mean she was in trouble.
But as he opened the door, it was not the face of his daughter staring back at him. Although it was a close resemblance. Standing there in the moonlight, covered in a white cloak that blended with the snowy ground, was-
"S-summer?"
The face, so very much like his daughter’s, but bearing the weight of life, smiled back at him
"Hey Tai..."
The apparition of his second love lifted a white carton into view.
"I'm back with milk..."
Despite everything, all the questions he had, the conflicting emotions swirling in his head, Tai couldn’t help it. It started with a sharp exhale through closed teeth, followed by a chuckle, and then Taiyang wrapped his arms around Summer Rose, spinning and pulling her back into the house, laughter filling the air only to fall silent as their lips pressed together in a kiss that could only just begin to make up for a near decade of lost love, thought to never be found again.

What's the best way to reunite with your husband after you disappear for 10 years? Open with a joke to break the tension.
Chapter 3: Deliverance
Summary:
Just how DID a woman from Remnant end up on Etheirys?
Chapter Text
Deep within the swirling mists of the Aetherial Sea, Venat-as-Hydaelyn stood her eternal vigil. Watching over her beloved world from within, empowering its people to fight against the misguided plots of her former compatriots. Six times, they had initiated their rejoining, not counting their disastrous attempt on the thirteenth. And every time, countless unique existences had been forever lost. Surely they must see the pointlessness of their actions? Surely they must be doubting their cause? But then, were they so without resolve to stop now, then they would not have risen to the convocation to begin with. And so, her vigil continued ever on, awaiting the day her children would grow strong enough to end the Song. Then, one day out of an infinite number, it came.
A call, one singular burst of aether, too precisely directed to be random, yet too weak to have come from any on the star itself. And bearing a signature she had not seen in eons. Vulkana, formerly of the seat of Lahabrea. One who had, upon the end of their term, not returned to the star, but escaped it . Left for the grand sea of the cosmos with nary a word. All had written her off for dead, but it seemed as though she had gotten the final laugh, escaping the Final Days in their entirety. But Venat did not have time to appreciate the irony, for Vulkana’s call relayed to her a message of singular import. There was a soul upon her distant star that was in turmoil, slowly being eroded away by some vile force. A soul Venat recognized , for it was the singular soul that had set her vigil in motion oh so long ago. Mustering all the strength that she dare, Venat-as-Hydalen reached out to that distant star, grabbing hold of the lost fragment of Azem, and pulled .
What ended up in her grasp was definitely similar to the soul she remembered, but heavily diminished. Whatever Vulkana had done to spirit Azem away, it had happened after the Sundering. Even now, the six rejoined pieces of Azem were converging upon Venat, seeking to rejoin their core. But before they did, Venat was able to see something she hadn’t before. A collection of Light aspected aether, centered around the woman’s eyes. Interesting. She had never noticed it before, the two motes hidden by the brilliance of the whole. As the six shards of Azem rushed in to fill the gaps left by whatever had been preying upon her champion to be, Venat looked for a place to lay the weary woman that would ensure future. Somewhere she could thrive, where her weapon would not go remiss... Ah, there. Amidst the pirates and the counters. Bundling together her champion, Venat set her Aether out towards one of the many beacons her children had erected. The rest would be up to her. But Venat had faith. After all, Summer had an appointment with her in the past to keep.
