The Umbrella Corporation answer's Wesker's memorandum regarding the laboratory accident.

Chapter Text

Umbrella Corporation – Central Administration Office

From: Corporate Operations Oversight Division
To: Dr. Albert Wesker, Chief Researcher, Arklay Facility
Date: [redacted]
Subject: Response to Internal Memorandum – Incident UMD-A-1183
-------------------------------

Dr. Wesker,

The Administration acknowledges receipt of your memorandum regarding the containment failure in Greenhouse Laboratory 3. We appreciate the precision and urgency with which you have outlined your observations.

After careful review, Central Operations finds that the existing maintenance protocols meet or exceed current regulatory and corporate safety standards. The incident in question has been formally classified as an isolated mechanical deviation. Independent audit data does not indicate a systemic risk necessitating full equipment replacement at this time.

While we recognize your concern for laboratory safety, please be reminded that operational continuity remains essential to Umbrella’s global research commitments. Preventive replacement of all greenhouse containment systems, as suggested, would require suspension of multiple active projects—an outcome deemed disproportionate to the assessed risk.

Nevertheless, Procurement has been instructed to prioritize replacement of the specific gauge model involved in the event upon completion of the current fiscal quarter. Routine inspection schedules will continue as planned.

We value your dedication to excellence and invite you to direct any further recommendations through your Division Head for appropriate review.

Respectfully,
Diana Kerr
Director, Corporate Operations Oversight
Umbrella Corporation
