Chapter 2: 02 ; builderblox

Summary:

Builderman and Roblox.

The two were practically inseparable, always being together as if they were attached to the hip. For some ungodly reason, they also co-parented a bird; leading to something always being in the forums and reports — asking whether or not Roblox and Builderman were secretly dating.

With all the affectionate actions the two committed such as constantly gifting eachother items and more lovey-dovey things they did, it was hard to think they weren't lovers. Still, both denied the accusations and excused it as business related. Obviously, Robloxians didn't believe it and continued to feed into their 'delusions' (according to Roblox).

Even then, there was one thing that the two had never done..

Holding hands.

Oh yeah. They also stargaze.

Chapter Text

7:32 p.m.

The HQ was quiet.

Nighttime had rolled in, carrying the soft, chilly winds of its presence along. Many admins would clock out for the time being, deciding to instead spend the last hours of twilight at their respective experiences. 'Many' did not apply to Roblox and Builderman, (also Doombringer but..) however.

Builderman had been in his office, reading contracts and signing them. Each passing day felt like more paperwork piled up, either leftovers or freshly printed. While writing one, his pen slowly ran out of ink and only left imprints of writing in the paper. He groaned, putting the ball-point pen down before messily opening the furthest drawer to the left.

In it contained black ink capsules, filled to the brim and ready for use. "Twelfth refill t'day," He quietly huffed, opening the writing utensil and emptying it. The spring detached unfortunately, but it wasn't that hard to put it back in. The room was dimly lit, only the light of his monitor and the barely-functioning lamp on his desk on. He should really get the light-bulb in the lamp changed before it burns out.

Once he fixed the pen back up, Builderman closed the cap and placed it down. His calloused hands were sore, winces escaping the man as he gently moved it around. 'Should I take a break?' He thought, looking around the room. It was relatively clean, although the trash bin was practically full. Maybe he should go throw that out. Builderman slowly stood up, steadying himself carefully.

With a quick stretch and forgetting what he got up for, the CEO walked over to the trash bin. He compressed the trash to make sure none escaped before tying a knot to close the rubbish, pulling it out of the bin. Builderman walked to the door, twisting the door knob and walking out. He could hear Doombringer's distant grumbling as the loud bang of fist against desk caught Builderman by surprise.

He didn't go over and check Doom's office, though. Instead, he continued walking to the office's garbage disposal as quickly threw the bag he had been carrying into the bin. Builderman rushed towards a nearby sink and washed his hands in water and watermelon-scented soap. Builderman hummed in delight, delicately wiping down his hands using a fresh tissue.

The night went on without a word from Builderman, only soft expressions. As he went back into his office, a small sticky-note was plastered onto the back of his monitor. With an intrigued mindset, he stepped close and read it.

'To Builderman: Please come outside. :)'

How.. mysterious and slightly terrifying! The hand-writing was quite neat, black ink cooperative yet fluid at the same time. Who could've wrote this.. oh. A name popped into Builderman's head; Roblox. They enjoyed sending cryptic messages towards Builderman everywhere, on text, paper or simply stating it. He peeled the note off and folded it, placing it into his jean pocket.

He once again walked out the door and spotted Doombringer, who was pouring himself a mug of coffee. Hazelnut was wafted in the air, silky and sweet. "Hey, Big B." Doombringer's gruff voice greeted with a lingering hint of playfulness. The nickname was never his favourite but Doom insisted on calling him it no matter what, so it practically stuck.

"Hey, Doom." Builderman responded, waving. "Ya' makin' coffee?" He grinned, enthusiastically walking over only to get flicked on the head. "You're not getting any," Doom scoffed. Builderman let out a chuckle, holding his hands up in protest. "A lil' face like me couldn't do nothin' bad!" The CEO pleaded his case, although Doombringer didn't buy it. "Mhm.. Yeah, totally." The taller nodded along, absentmindedly pouring his coffee. Builderman sighed and walked away, but not before saying his farewell.

"Where're you going?" Doombringer called out. "Outside, my—" He coughed. "—Roblox called me outside, dunno why though." Builderman answered, nervously stumbling on the second piece of his sentence. "Don't kiss outside, okay? I won't be there to see it," Doom snorted, laughing to himself. Builderman rolled his eyes and walked outside, looking around for any signs of Roblox. There, a familiar visor was spottable. 'Bingo,' The CEO hummed, skipping over to where Roblox was.

"Hello," Roblox turned their head to look at Builderman, ushering him to sit beside them while patting the grass next to them. Builderman gratefully took the offer and sat, sitting in a criss-cross formation. "Why'd ya' call me?" Builderman warmly smiled, turning his position to look at Roblox. They fidgeted with their hands, a nervous tic that they had never grown out of. Awkward silence stood as a barrier between them, only the sound of grass rustling audible.

"Hey, hey. If yer' not ready t'say it, it's fine." Builderman reassured, patting Roblox's shoulders gently. They nod, taking deep breaths even if they don't need it. "I wanted to ask if you'd like to.. hold hands?" Roblox blurted out in a single breath, panicking. He blinks before enthusiastically nodding, excited yet afraid. "Of course, of course—! If yer' wantin' ta'!" The other grins, happy.

Roblox's neutral face looks worried, as if they had found an unknown glitch. "Do you promise not to tell anyone about this?" They sternly ask, eyes narrowing. Builderman nods, inching closer. "Yesyesyesyes, obviously!" He squeals, focusing on the moment rather than why Roblox wants to do this in the first place.

Slowly, they lift up their palms and hold them out for Builderman, trembling like a stray puppy. Delightfully, Builderman takes their left hand and connects his right hand with it, looking up at Roblox. The temperature difference is odd, Roblox's hands being very cold while his are pretty warm. Still, the act takes his mind off of it and only makes him think about what's happening right now.

"I feel weird now," They mumble. Builderman catches note of this before he's about to hold a grasp on Roblox. "Good weird or bad weird?" He asks, Roblox responding with a quiet 'good'. It feels like time has slowed down just for the two, like even time wants this moment to never end. Roblox pulls away, flustered and trying to find the words to say. It comes out jumbled, their speech-bubble descending into random symbols.

"Did ya' like that?" He clasps his hands together, his smile brighter than ever. "It was uhm.. good. Pleasant," They chirp, pink dusted on the tips of their ears and their cheeks. Builderman snickers and lays down onto the grass, nudging Roblox to do the same.

It's now quiet, though the silence is much more comfortable. Roblox's mouth had opened multiple times, but nothing was said. They lay like that for a while, before Builderman points to the starry sky.

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
