    After two years stationed in the German Statterdome, Yoichi Isagi returns to Japan. Now dangerously low on Jaeger pilots, Marshall Ego Jinpachi orders graduated students to defend the country from an increasing wave of Kaiju attacks.

    Rin Itoshi also returns due to his co-pilot recovering from an injury on a mission. Desperate for active pilots, Ego makes a bold decision to re-pair Rin and Isagi together.
