Epilogue

It's been a few months. We've settled into something like a normal life.
There are still days when Arden wakes up screaming, when something slips in my head and I disassociate. We're getting better.
I've calmed down enough to go back to helping in the shop.
Yeah, we’re still damaged. We'd have crumbled on our own. But we're together. And that's what gets us through each day.
We'll be fine. I've even started looking at colleges. I think it's gonna be okay.
I don't really see a reason to keep this journal anymore. The danger is over. He's gone.
And Arden's still here. We're together and for now, we’re happy. We're in love. And that's not going to change.
if you happen to find this out there somewhere in the woods, learn from our mistakes and burn this the first chance you get.
This is Arden writing, I managed to grab our journal before Astrid took it out and buried it.. While I agree that you should burn the journals, there’s a chance that might not keep you entirely safe. So find people to support you. Even if you think it’s impossible there will be a person out there, you just have to find them. If the worst is to happen they’ll be the ones to help you get through it all.
