Chapter 1: Stitchwraith Stingers

Chapter Text

Prologue: Stitchwraith Stingers

There is something off about tonight in Oakton.

Officer Hill, the lanky blond man, and Officer McCord, the older officer with a round belly and sunglasses, receive a strange call from the manager of the restaurant called Le Jackpot. What they can assume is rats eating out his trashcans. Once they arrive at the restaurant, the manager tells a different story.

“You called us?” Officer McCord says to the manager.

“Yes, there’s this thing digging around the garbage…down that alleyway,” the manager points down the alleyway with his trembling finger.

“What thing?” Officer McCord questions.

“I dunno. I know that it ain’t an animal,” the manager answers, fiddling with his hands out of a nervous habit.

“Are you sure that it’s not just the rats?” Officer Hill probes, squinting at the manager with a look of confusion.

The manager shakes his head, his eyes tremble in fear. “Yes, I’m sure! That thing is wearing a black hood and had some red glow in its chest. I don’t think it’s even a person.”

“Did it leave?”

“I-I don’t know. I panicked and ran before knowing that it left.”

The officers exchange glances and then shift their attention back at the manager.

“Stay here,” Officer McCord commands the manager, who nods in obedience. He looks at his partner. “Search for the ‘thing’. He may of scared it off.”

With a nod in understanding, Officer Hill goes towards the alleyway, splitting up with Officer McCord while he questions the manager further more.

Officer Hill investigates the alleyway, noticing the mess left behind in one of the garbage cans. He examines the scene to find one of the soda cans melted and a beer bottle having red imprints on it as if something grabbed it and discarded it. When the officer looks ahead, he sees much more mess with half of the trash melted and scattered and the other half covered in red prints.

“Somebody’s going to have to clean that up,” Officer Hill says with a sigh. He keeps going down the alleyway until he hears collision. He hurries towards the noise ahead of him. He almost looks past the black hooded figure until he hears two different voices whispering to one another. He shines the light on it. The black hooded figure turns to look at the officer.

Under its black hood, the creature’s white mask reflects the light. Its chest glows red dimly as it stares at the officer with one eye scratched out and missing a tooth in its toothy grin. Underneath the black cloak, the robotic skeleton is barely noticeable until Officer Hill shines the light on it.

With heavy breaths, he takes out his pistol to point at the creature. “Put your hands up!”

The robotic creature takes off into the darkness.

“HEY!” Officer Hill shouts as he chases after the black-hooded robot. “Come back here!”

As he’s chasing after the robot, Officer Hill calls over the walkie-talkie.

“McCord, I found the thing the manager is talking about!” Officer Hill shouts in the radio while focused on chasing the robotic creature through the alleyways. “I’m in pursuit! Call for back-up!”

There is no response, which concerns Officer Hill.

“Officer McCord? Officer McCord!”

There is still no response.

“Fine, I’ll do it myself,” Officer Hill grumbles and continues to chase after the black hooded robot.

The yellow rabbit monster attacks him from the side alleyway he is about to pass by. The cop screams in terror at the monster’s sharp teeth and blue glowing eyes as he loses his grips on both his flashlight and his gun. He tries to fight the monster, but the monster overpowers him. The monster has a piece of an officer’s clothing hanging from its sharp teeth with blood and Officer McCord’s nametag on it.

Before the monster can rip his face off, the black hooded robot joins the fight and pushes the rabbit monster away from the officer. The robot slams its hand on the rabbit’s chest, seeming to melt the monster’s purple bowtie with its touch. The monster screams in pain and agony, running off like a scared-off predator. The robot turns to the officer, tilting its head.

The officer breathes heavily in fear and calls over the radio as the creature steps closer to him. “Back-up! I need back-up! Please, send back-up now!”

The creature offers a helping hand, but the officer refuses it. The officer grabs the pistol and points it at the robot. The robot raises its hand up in an immediate reaction.

“D̸o̷n̷’̸t̵ ̴s̷h̸o̵o̶t̵.̷ ̸I̵ ̶w̸o̴n̵’̸t̵ ̷h̵u̴r̸t̵ ̷y̸o̴u̵.̵ ̴” the robot speaks in the glitchy tone.

The officer trembles as the robot approaches him more warily than before. “Don’t come any closer or I’ll shoot!”

The creature stops in its tracks, watching the officer get up on his feet. He keeps his pistol pointed at the robot. The robot raises a finger as if it’s telling the officer to give it a second before reaching into his coat pocket.

The officer can’t stop trembling, his finger tickling a trigger until he pulls it by accident. The bullet hits the robotic creature in the shoulder, causing the photo to slide out of the pocket of the black cloak. The picture is revealed to be a purple glitchy bunny. The robot turns, the red glowing brighter as if it is becoming angry. However, the red glow dims as it picks up the photo and shows it to the officer.

“P-Put your hands up. I’m warning you,” the officer snarls, cocking his pistol back to ready it to shoot again if need to.

The robot raises its hands up with the photo in its hand. “Y̵o̷u̵ ̴d̸o̷n̴’̴t̸ ̶k̵n̶o̴w̵ ̵w̸h̶a̶t̵ ̵y̶o̵u̴’̴r̷e̸ ̴g̵e̶t̸t̴i̸n̸g̴ ̶y̵o̴u̴r̵s̴e̷l̵f̴ ̷i̶n̷t̶o̸.̴”

“I’m going to take you down to the station right now,” Officer Hill says. He is about to go around to put handcuffs on the robot, but the robot steps back.

“Y̶o̶u̷ ̴h̸a̴v̷e̶ ̶t̴h̴r̴e̸e̶ ̸c̷h̶a̷n̵c̴e̵s̵ ̷t̵o̷ ̵l̷e̵a̷v̷e̷.̸”

“If you resist arrest, I’m going to have to use excessive force,” Officer Hill threatens out of fear.

The robot narrows its eyelid and the red glow brightens in its chest. “T̴h̴r̷e̷e̸ ̸c̷h̸a̵n̴c̸e̷s̶.̸”

Officer Hill raises his pistol, trembling as the robotic creature approaches him. When the officer pulls the trigger, the robot uses its free hand to block the gun. Under its grasp, the gun melts in the cop’s hands. The officer gasps in shock and stumbles back from the robot.

The robot glares at him, the red from its chest glowing brighter. “T̵͎̄w̴͉̚o̸̲̾ ̴̳̈́c̶͔̅ḩ̵̿a̴͛͜ń̸̞c̴̻̄ȇ̵̜s̴̝̍.̸̫̋”

The cop brings out his taser gun and shoots at it. It dodges the tasers, grabbing the electrical line and turning it into red electricity. The red electricity transfers over to the gun, destroying the taser gun with an small explosion. The cop screams and stumbles back from the small explosion.

The red in the robot’s chest glows brighter, showing the anger rising from the machine. “Ở̵̜̩̌n̴̞̲̉̏ͅë̵̠͍̟͉́͑̃͗ ̴̗̲͍͚̬͗̆̐̑̑m̷̡̛͍̈͗̅̿ȯ̸͉͌͊͌̑r̴̪͓̯͗e̶͖͒ͅ ̸͍̝̱̠̍͑́͑̀͜c̴̨̩̪̜̈́̓̋͑͝h̵̟̯̥̮̎̓̈̉a̸͈̪̬̤͒̔̈̿n̶̞̙̟͑̈́c̷̡̝̞̾̈̄e̶̜͈̲̺͆̏.̷̜̖̔”

Officer Hill takes out his baton and whacks it at the robot in determination, but the robot catches his arm with a death glare.

“Ȳ̸̰̮̰̖̄͌ơ̴̢̬̞͊̊̉͌̑͑͊̔u̶̧͙̖̘̪̣͉̯̬͆̓̈́͂̿’̵̱̹̼̜̽̏̎͂v̵̖̱̳͔̩͚͗͗͑̐̆̌̅͠͝e̶̫̪̤̩̹̲̜̮̮̓̔ ̶̳͎̙͉̼̋͊͒̓͘͝ẃ̵͔̰͇̮͚̈̀a̷̧̱͕͙̩͔̽͊ș̶̨̡̘͍͕͎̩̓͒̔͌̑̉̌̇̕t̸̙̣̥̭͊̆̀̌͋͑̇͘̕è̸̥̲͖̽̌̐̈̂̌͝d̴̟̪̠̯̺͈͇͕̀̍͋̇́͗ ̶̮̰̦̯̼̮̘̼͆̍͑̋ͅÿ̸̡͇̳̟̘̼̖͋͜o̷̱̠̮̯̰̯̺̼͖͌ṵ̷̺͔̓̓̔͗r̶̨̠̹̟͈̆̄͒͘͠ ̴̢̘̪̩͓̼̗̍̆̈́͆͐̽ͅt̵̯͎̼͍̮̿͊̓h̷̡̛̲̩̳̙̋̈́̔̑͆̈́͗͜r̶͊͜͝ę̸͎̬̯̳͕̳̺̏̔̈͗͜͝ȩ̵̤̬̟͓̞̬̘̊͋͜ ̶̭̞͓͖͎̤̥̙̜͗̇̽̀͘č̷̦͎͉͕̌̂̂͜h̶͍̥̘̩̮̊̐͘͘ä̸̧̯̩̣͔͎̻͖͎́̋̅̃͋n̶̰͍͙̞͔̻̓̇͘͝ç̴͔̠͕͙͖̠̩͚̍̓͒̓͊͑̎̕͠e̸̼̪̜̗̘͖̟͖̩̓̄͆̒̃̋̕͠͝s̸͇͈̘̭̱͑͋͌̂̿͘͝.̶̥͓͚̻̃̈́͜͜ ̸͕̜͖̠̳͓̫͚̹̅̓̿͊̉͝”

With that said, the pain in the officer’s arm spikes up, burning deep through his skin. He screams in agony, trying to get out of the hold of the robot glaring into the officer’s frightened eyes.

“A̷n̸d̷r̶e̷w̷,̴ ̴l̵e̸t̷ ̴h̴i̴m̸ ̶g̶o̸.̴ ̵T̴h̴a̴t̵’̴s̸ ̶e̶n̶o̷u̴g̴h̸.̴”

The robot doesn’t let go despite the other voice within it telling it to. The orange burn seeps into the officer’s veins. Officer Hill screams grow louder while his veins turns orange from his collarbone to his toes. The orange glow reaches up to his face, feeling his insides being ripped apart. It reaches to his eyes, melting his sockets and turning his eyeballs white. He can no longer scream, his mouth hang open to let out the last of his breaths.

When the back-up officers arrive at the scene, they see a bloody massacre that happens in Le Jackpot. The officers notice Officer McCord laying dead with his stomach torn open and the manager is missing his half of his brain from inside of his half-opened skull. Their guts and blood paint the front walls of the restaurant. One of the officers peek inside of the restaurant with her eyes broadening in horror.

“What kind of a wild animal would do this?” the officer utters as she sees the blood blending into the dark red carpet, except that it stains it with guts scattered around. The customers have their bodies torn open. Some of them appear to be trying to run from whatever is mangling them. Their bodies are deformed with teeth marks and claw marks.

The officers stand behind her, looking around in horror.

“Whatever monster did this, it’s no human or animal,” the chief investigating the crime remarks. “I think we got a demon running loose in Oakton.”
