Summary
Seven days. Seven documents. One man learning what it means to be seen, chosen, and loved.
Tarquin has spent most of his life following orders—first as a soldier bleeding for an empire that saw him as expendable, then as a Chantry adherent trying to fit into boxes that were never meant for him. But after walking away from both, he finds himself writing: journaling, crisis-of-faith explorations, scar inventories that become self-acceptance manifestos. Through fragments of writing spanning his time with the Shadow Dragons, we see a bitter ex-soldier slowly learning to trust again. Learning what chosen family actually means. Learning that love—real love—isn't conditional on conforming to other people's definitions of worthy.
And learning that sometimes the most radical act of faith isn't believing in institutions, but in the person who sees the divine in you when you can't see it yourself.
A week-long journey through letters, journal entries, and personal notes chronicling one man's evolution from surviving to actually living—and finding someone worth building a future with along the way.
