Chapter Text
They lay lazily on the bed, warmth pooling around them in the late afternoon light. Izuku’s head rested on Katsuki’s chest, his arm draped over Katsuki’s stomach, breathing soft and even. Katsuki’s arm was wrapped around him, his hand idly trailing up and down Izuku’s side, fingers brushing the bare skin in slow, thoughtless strokes. It had been a while since they’d had a quiet moment like this, just the two of them. Izumi had claimed she needed a break from their “nerdiness” (mostly Izuku’s), but Katsuki knew better. She wasn’t fooling anyone. The kid just wanted to give them space. Smart little brat.
Izuku’s voice broke the silence, soft and uncertain.
“Do you think she’s okay?”
Katsuki snorted, flicking him lightly on the forehead.
“How many times do I have to remind you nerd? She’s a teenager, not a baby. Plus, she’s with Cheeks. We trust her, remember?”
The words came out gentler than he meant them to. He could hear it feel it even, and it made him cringe a little inside. There wasn’t much he could do about it anymore. That softness always came out when it involved Izumi.
Izuku hesitated, frowning a little.
“Yeah, I know… I just hate being away from her this long. I hope she’s behaving, or that she isn’t—”
Katsuki didn’t let him finish. He tilted Izuku’s chin up and kissed him, cutting the ramble short. Izuku responded instantly, which is starting to become their new normal, pressing closer, chasing the warmth.
Katsuki could feel every heartbeat between them, every small tremor that ran through Izuku’s body. His touch was fire, steady and consuming, and Katsuki couldn’t help but lean into it, losing himself for a moment. Letting Izuku take his heart bit by bit.
When Izuku finally pulled back, pouting, Katsuki raised a brow.
“No fair. You can’t distract me like that,” Izuku muttered.
Katsuki smirked and leaned in again, brushing another quick kiss against his lips.
“And what’re you gonna do about it?”
The blush that spread across Izuku’s face was almost immediate. He bit his lip, eyes flicking up shyly.
“Well, I could get up… leave you here. All alone.”
Katsuki huffed out a quiet laugh. Empty threat. He tightened his hand around Izuku’s hip, kissing up his neck, voice low.
“Okay. Try it, then.”
Izuku laughed, pushing his face away with his palm.
“Kacchan.”
He said it like it meant something more than just a name, and Katsuki felt that familiar heat rise in his chest. He could never get used to it how easily Izuku could make him feel everything all at once. Watching him pretend to think seriously about leaving only made Katsuki’s grin widen. The nerd was hopeless.
Eventually, Izuku gave up the act and wiggled closer, resting his forehead against Katsuki’s chest with a quiet sigh.
“Fine, fine… you win. But only because I don’t want to leave you.”
The words hit him harder than he’d like to admit. Katsuki pressed a kiss to the top of Izuku’s head, the gesture small but grounding.
“Thought so.”
Silence fell again, comfortable and steady. Katsuki focused on the rhythm of Izuku’s breathing, the slow rise and fall against him, the soft weight of his hair brushing his skin. The world outside faded, Izumi’s distant laughter, the hum of the city, everything else was background noise. All that existed was this.
Then Izuku spoke, voice quiet but certain.
“Kacchan… like, obviously we’re official now… should we tell the others?”
Katsuki couldn’t help the low laugh that slipped out.
“I think our future daughter already made that kinda obvious, dumbass.”
Izuku’s face went red instantly, his laugh muffled as he lightly smacked Katsuki’s chest. He hid his face, ears pink. Katsuki felt something twist in his chest, not unpleasant just warm.
“Yeah, yeah,” he muttered, brushing his thumb along Izuku’s cheek. “We’ll tell the extras whenever you’re ready. Doesn’t matter how fast or slow we go. You’re mine, and I’m yours. That’s it. Don’t overthink it.”
Izuku’s only response was a small nod against his chest. Katsuki tightened his hold just slightly, letting his hand rest at the small of Izuku’s back. For once, he didn’t feel the need to say anything more. Everything he wanted everything that mattered was already right here.
