Waking up to blue skies was not what Alastor was expecting. Alastor wasn’t expecting to wake up, to be fair. Bleeding out from an angelic wound didn’t lend itself much in the way of coming back from dying a second time. The color of the sky was more of a shock. Instead of a blood red sky encased in a Pentagram, crystal clear blue skies with fluffy white clouds were above him. A blue bird flew overhead and chirped a merry tune. Alastor blinked a few times, just to be sure of what he was seeing. But no, nothing changed. He breathed in and the air was almost sweet from the scent of flowers, the breeze was cool and the sun was warm.
Surely he didn’t do anything that would warrant actual redemption that Charlie was gunning for.
Alastor sat up. He looked around and looked down at himself. Still a demon, still in his deer form. His claws felt around, but his cane was nowhere to be found. Just soft dewy grass under his fingertips.
His ears caught the sound of a tingling of bells and he looked around. The sound grew closer and he startled when he realized it wasn’t bells, it was laughter.
“Well, hello there!” The voice was all too familiar, but the face was a bit different.
Lucifer Morningstar.
“I’ve never seen you around here, and I’ve seeing everything in Eden, ‘cause ya know, I created everything in Eden!” Lucifer’s laugh wasn’t prideful and boasting, just a happy sound of someone who thought his joke landed.
His teeth were blunted, no fangs. His red circles on his cheeks were blue and so were his eyes. His robes were golden and white and so were his six wings. His awful hat didn’t have its snake and apple but a intricate halo wrapped around the spot instead.
And he looked genuinely happy.
“Aw, can you not talk?” Lucifer asked and reached out to rubbed at Alastor’s left ear. “You do have animal features, maybe you’re just a cute little woodland creature Father created.” He cooed and scratched gentle fingers into the meat of Alastor’s ear.
Alastor swatted his hand away and flicked the pleasant feeling away.
“I can talk you imbecile!”
Lucifer blinked wide eyes before they went even wider and his smile took up most of his face.
“You do talk! Yay!” He cheered and pulled Alastor in an overly enthusiastic hug, swinging the demon around in joy.
“Oh finally! I knew Father was making something special, He said I wouldn’t have to be alone so much once He finished and now you’re here! Oh—“ he dropped Alastor on his feet and held him still by the shoulders. “Do you have a name? I CAN NAME YOU!” He squealed excitedly.
Alastor’s right eye twitched and his smile was all teeth. “My name is Alastor!”
Lucifer only looked more excited and floated midair and smushed Alastor’s face between his hands. “What a cute name! Alastor, it’s lovely to meet you, my name is Lucifer!”
Alastor wanted to bite his hands off, how was Lucifer calling him cute with yellowed teeth and red eyes. “I’m not cute.” He growled.
Lucifer just smiled. “Of course you are, look at those pretty ears and I bet you have a cute fluffy tail!” He cooed.
Alastor tensed and his hands went to his backside. “Refrain from touching my tail or I will bite your hand off.” He threatened.
Lucifer giggled and finally pulled away and up into the air. “Aww, alright, no touching the fluffy tail.” He promised and swooped down to be face to face. “But really, I’m so happy you’re here! Let me show you around, oh you should meet my twin brother!”
Alastor was quick to squash that notion. “No!”
Lucifer blinked and tilted his head. “No what?”
Alastor grasped at straws, how did he keep himself a secret from the literal Sword of God and keep his life?
“Because I’m just for you,” he grit out, oh how he hated this. “Your Father made me to be your friend and no one else’s. You aren’t expected to share me with anyone, so we’ll keep me a secret until your Father says otherwise.”
Alastor immediately regretted his quick thinking. Lucifer squealed in cheer and tackled him back into a hug, lifting him fully off the ground and into the air.
“You’re my friend!” He cheered and laughed as they went higher and higher, Alastor tensed and latched onto the angel.
“I don’t like heights, Lucifer!” He exclaimed but the angel didn’t hear him over the wind as they flew.
Alastor determined he would needed to find a way back.
There were no weeks in Eden, days or time frames. Alastor notated the days gone by from when he slept. The sun did go down, but only for short bursts of time. No one needed sleep here and the sun didn’t overheat or damage the earth. Alastor only rested to find some relief from Lucifer’s constant presence.
Lucifer was a lot to handle, but after spending six months with Charlie, he wasn’t horrible either. Just a bit more innocent than Charlie was. The problem with Lucifer it seemed, was he was bored. He wanted to play all the time, wanted to fly together and swim or dance around.
He never ran out of energy and for the most part neither did Alastor, minus a social battery. Lucifer was touchy and clingy, always touching his ears and hugging him close, picking him up to fly around. He was insufferable, loud and obnoxious yet naïve and open in such a way that it was like picking on a child.
Not that that stopped Alastor.
When Lucifer showed him the flowers he created, Alastor plucked one and hummed. “I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a flower such as this,” he remarked, its colors of bright blue bleeding into an ugly yellow, causing their centers to be green.
Lucifer smiled in that innocent way of his. “Do you like them?”
Alastor held the flower to his lips and smirked. “Not particularly, no.” He replied with a bored little sound. “The colors clash horribly, they smell awful too.”
He saw the little wilt to the angel’s wings and turned away to smirk. He was so easy to poke at, still a prideful creature, even now.
Another time was with an animal he created. He called it a dodo and Alastor outright laughed.
“What a useless little thing.” He chuckled and tapped the stupid bird on the head. “Ah, I wonder if it taste good though.”
Lucifer whole face crumbled just a little, as he gathered up the bird in his arms. “You don’t think they’re cute?”
Alastor shrugged with a nasty smile. “Ugly things can be cute I suppose.”
They went on like this, Alastor picking at his creations but always brushed it off as a joke or laughed with a smile. It wouldn’t do to ruffle his feathered friend too much.
They went on like this for several months, if Alastor was correct in his days. He’d lighten up from time to time, just so he didn’t bruise the little angel’s ego too badly. They’d do fun things Lucifer wanted to do. Alastor searched for someway out of this nightmare.
But there was no way out.
Adam, Lilith and Eve weren’t created yet, that he was certain of. Lucifer acted as though he was completely alone in Eden, besides now having Alastor to play with.
As the days kept on, Alastor grew tired of seeing Lucifer’s sad expressions. The last time he tried to continue his game, something changed. Something in his gut twisted when Lucifer hugged the creature Alastor made fun of, he looked like he might actually cry.
“Now, none of that.” Alastor admonished and floundered at what to do.
“You don’t like anything I’ve made, I am bad at this.” Lucifer sniffled and hugged the hairless cat to his chest, the ugly thing mewed softly and licked his angelic cheek.
Alastor scowled. “I never said that, no one’s said that. You just make unusual things!”
Lucifer tipped his head down, hiding under the brim of his ridiculous hat. “You’re not the first to say I make awful things.” He whispered and turned to walk away, Alastor watched a tear drip down his pale cheek.
Alastor lurched forward and grabbed Lucifer by the shoulder. He yanked the angel back and reach down to tip the angel’s face up.
“I’m…” he took a breath, this was a new feeling. “I’m sorry, Lucifer. I was being unkind. Who am I to judge what is and isn’t hideous.”
Lucifer sniffled and let Alastor wipe away his tear. “What do you mean?”
Alastor swept a hand over his person. “I am a monster, Lucifer.”
Lucifer shook his head. “You’re beautiful to me.” He said simply.
The demon eyes went wide, he paused and watched as the little cat jumped from the angel’s arms and trotted away.
“You.. what?” He questioned and blinked in surprise when Lucifer floated up to be face to face.
“You’re beautiful to me.” He repeated and reached to cup Alastor face. “You’re one of a kind.” He complimented with a small sad smile.
Alastor’s ears flickered and before he could think too hard on this, he reached forward and pulled the angel in for a hug. Lucifer wrapped his arms around his neck and gave a happy little sigh, his fingers moved up to scratch at Alastor’s ears and the demon softened further, curling close and breathing in his clean scent.
“I forgive you.” Lucifer murmured.
Things changed rapidly for the former Overlord. Not his routine per say, but his reluctance wavered in the face of unbridled joy at his presence and someone who laughed at all his jokes. They curled together and talked for hours about nothing and napped in the shade, they ate themselves silly on blueberries and other fruits, and they rough housed on occasion.
Alastor noticed once, that the flowers Lucifer first showed him were now plain white. He plucked one and the scent wasn’t so strong, something mild and nondescript.
“Why did you change them?” He asked.
Lucifer touched a petal and looked away. “You didn’t like them.”
Alastor’s brow furrowed as he twirled the flower between his claws, his angel coming over to lean against his shoulder and snuggle close. “You changed it because of that?”
Lucifer nodded. “No one comes down here to look at what I’ve made.” He murmured. “You weren’t wrong, they did smell off. They look nicer white anyways.” He hummed and wrapped around Alastor like an overtly affectionate cat.
Alastor twirled the flower back and forth between his claws and hummed. “Did you change anything else?”
Lucifer shrugged. “I made furry cats too, but I still like Arnold the way he is.”
Alastor snorted and put the flower in his pocket. “Arnold, what a silly name.” But he said it fondly.
Lucifer giggled and squeezed the demon close. “It’s a cute name, just like yours is cute!”
“My name is not cute!”
Lucifer laughed and lifted Alastor up into the air with ease. “Everything about you is cute, Alastor!” He cheered and pulled his friend up into the clouds.
The first few times they did this, Alastor hated it. Not having his feet on the ground and relying on someone so dunderheaded was not something that agreed with his sensibilities.
Yet now, he went along for the flight with nary a word, secure in Lucifer’s grip as they flew wherever the little angel decided to go today.
Eden was big, but it was mostly empty. God created most everything, but Lucifer was tasked with bringing vibrancy and life to this world. So far, the creatures and fauna created were delicate and beautiful, some a little different. But Alastor had come to understand that Lucifer saw beauty differently, what one might find ugly or useless, he found incredibly charming and important.
Today Lucifer kept them up in the clouds. Alastor sat in the smaller man’s lap while they lazed among the clouds. The demon swirled a claw through the cold mist and still reveled in the feel of cold. It’d been so long since his thirst was truly quenched or his body was able to cool off and he felt content. While Eden itself was boring, the perks made everything tolerable. Plus his little angel helped pass the time.
“Alastor?” Lucifer murmured, his arms around Alastor’ waist squeezed. “One of my siblings is coming down to check on things and I have to report what I’ve added. Since I don’t have to share you and no one has to know about you, I need you to be quiet somewhere else and I’ll come find you when I’m done, okay?”
Alastor rolled his eyes. “I’m not a simpleton, Lucifer, I can make do on my own while you have your little meeting with Heaven.” He replied and patted the arms around his waist to soften his words where he couldn’t. “Just come find me, and we’ll go about our business when you’re done.”
Lucifer nodded against his back. “Sounds perfect.” He murmured and squeezed him closer still.
As was his way of things, Alastor did not make himself scarce and he made sure to be close enough to hear any juicy details from this meeting. His shadows no longer answered his call, ever since he woke up in Eden he was no more than a beast among the forest with just his wits. But that served him just fine, the seraphim wouldn’t feel his demonic presence if he was just one of the woodland creatures.
“Hi Sera!” Lucifer greeted with his usual bright smile and wave.
Sera’s smile was more reserved, she gave a half wave in reply. Her demeanor wasn’t cold per say, but for someone who hasn’t seen Lucifer in months, she didn’t seem to care how obviously excited he was to have a visitor. How Lucifer moved for a hug and she turned to inspect instead. Alastor’s claws flexed at the need to comfort, as he so often found himself doing for the little angel, but kept himself rooted to his hiding spot.
“What have you been doing down here?” She immediately admonished, even if her tone with gentle, she was all business. “This place is so quiet, Lucifer. It’s supposed to be teaming with life.”
Lucifer scrunched up his shoulders and clasped his hands together. “Oh it is!” He assured her and swept a wing towards the valley full of the little white flowers. “I created flowers to make the air smell sweet and feed the bumblebees who feed the bears. I have fish in the ponds and rivers, I also just created a new creature!” He excited gushed.
With a golden glow, appearing in his hands was a little living being, a little white duck with a bright yellow bill.
“See?” He grinned and held out the duck for her to look at.
“Quack!”
Sera didn’t turn immediately to his creation, but instead floated around to inspect his progression. Alastor watched from a distance as the two went through Eden and she asked questions on why things were what they were and what purpose they served.
“It’s called a cat.” Lucifer explained and allowed the bald thing to jump up onto his shoulders and purr against his face. “Arnold gives love and his purring is soothing.”
“What else can it do though?” Sera pushed.
Lucifer blinked and pet the docile duck still in his arms. “Meow?” He answered.
Sera sighed in disappointment and with a wave of her hand she produced a paper.
“We were afraid of this.” She stated and handed him the paper. “Create these creatures from here on out,” she ordered. “No more playing around with your powers, Father granted you the ability to create life, so create things that will serve a purpose rather than something useless.” She added.
And then she was gone, no goodbye or hug for a being who thrived on touch, who never let Alastor have a moment of peace.
Alastor’s dead heart clenched, because he was starting to see why the little angel was the way that he was. He watched as Lucifer stood there, surrounded by his creations that loved him dearly, and stared at the paper in his hand. Arnold meowed against his cheek before jumping down to roll in the grass and soak up the sun, but Lucifer didn’t move.
Alastor came to stand beside his friend. He bent at the waist to see his face under the brim of his hat. Lucifer was lost to his thoughts, his blue eyes dim and distant. His normal radiance gone and replaced with a cloud of despair. The look was a familiar one, one Alastor vaguely remembered back in Hell, when the then King had told his daughter about how Heaven didn’t listen.
So, Lucifer had always been depressed then, he was always like this. Which explained his need to be close to Alastor, his desperate want to be close and feel something.
Alastor reached out and ran gentle claws over the apple of Lucifer’s cheek. The angel didn’t startle, his eyes came back into focus and he turned just enough to look at Alastor.
“Hello friend.” Lucifer greeted in quiet tones.
Alastor hummed and took the duck and placed the little thing in the grass before getting on his knees and pulling Lucifer into a hug. The angel melted into their embrace and he held so tight Alastor could barely breathe. Alastor shushed him sweetly and pulled the hat from his head so he could run his claws through bright golden strands.
“Fuck her.” He said simply.
“I don’t know what that means, but it sounds not nice.” Lucifer sniffled into his shoulder.
“You’re correct, it’s not pleasant but it also isn’t horrible,” he reasoned. “Sometimes it depends on the infliction of ones tone, you can say it to a friend if your tone is friendly.”
Lucifer chuckled and snuggled close. “Your tone wasn’t friendly.”
Alastor smirked into his hair. “Nope.”
Lucifer cried softly for a few more minutes, before pulling away just enough to lay his head on Alastor’s chest and hold up the list.
“I should get to work on this.” He sighed but didn’t move from his comfy spot on Alastor.
The demon huffed and plucked the paper from his hand. He fixed his monocle to better see the page, he did wish he had his readers.
“This is vague hogwash!” He gripped and slapped the paper with his other hand. “They only gave you descriptive words and nothing of substance.”
Lucifer shrugged and rubbed at Alastor’s clothed chest before popping the buttons open and getting his hand in the fluff on his chest. The feel of his blunted nails against his skin sent a pleasant shiver up Alastor’s spine. Lucifer noticed it and their eyes met. The look was anything but innocent yet still uncertain. They moved in inches, slowly coming forward, until they’re lips pressed together.
Alastor never kissed anyone before, besides his mother’s cheek. He wasn’t certain if they were doing this quite right, but just the feel of soft lips against his own made him sigh and relax. When they pulled apart, Alastor at least felt better knowing he wasn’t the only one blushing.
Alastor cleared his throat and turned back to the list. “Now, let’s see about whittling this down and—mph!”
Lucifer it seemed, wasn’t quite done with him just yet. As with everything else, Lucifer did what he pleased and took pleasure in Alastor’s company. He kissed the demon with more insistence, awkward yet earnest. They fell back into the grassy field and learned what lips, teeth and tongue could do. Alastor was oh so careful with his fangs and claws, yet Lucifer didn’t care at all and licked at the rows of jagged yellow teeth. A prick of golden blood fell into the back of Alastor’s throat and the taste and power there made him moan. The heady taste of pure angelic power made him ravenous for more, only holding himself back for his little angel’s sake.
But Lucifer was far too perceptive for his own good. He ran his pink human like tongue over Alastor’s teeth and bled onto the demon’s tongue. The demon growled and swallowed, the kiss turning violent for just moment as Lucifer gave more and more.
When they pulled apart, both were panting and flushed. Lucifer above and Alastor pushing himself up onto his elbows.
“I really liked that.” Lucifer slurred and tackled Alastor back into the grass, the demon giving a bleat of protest before moaning again.
They did eventually come back to the list. After a few days of make outs and heavy handed touches. Alastor knew where this could go, he knew the generals of sex and needs of the like. He never partook in the carnal side of life, but he never had someone he wanted to experience them with. Lucifer didn’t know what any of this was, nor what these make outs could lead to. Alastor felt responsible for his innocence.
Lucifer wasn’t getting the memo though.
Whenever Alastor turned to talk to him, they were kissing. When they were being a pair of louts and laying under the shade of a tall oak tree, Lucifer had his hands in his fur, thankfully so far above the belt. Still though he often left Alastor breathless and straining in his pants. He could never say no very well either, the little condescending list Sera left behind was ridiculous anyways. They hit some points here and there, such as horses for riding, cows for milking and ugh… dogs for loyal companionship.
Sera did end up returning, and Alastor stayed close by. She was mildly better this go around, pleased by her little list being ticked off. But Alastor gave Lucifer some advice when she came back, and listened with glee when he heard his partner speak up for himself.
“I’m down here alone,” Lucifer said firm, pointing at the ground. “I’m the only one besides Father who can create life and was assigned this task.” He continued and pointed at Sera, making her back up in stunned silence. “You were not. You and my twin don’t get to boss me around when you get bored up in the clouds.”
Sera straightened and looked contrite at least. “I didn’t know you felt so strongly about this.” Was her reply. “You often have your head in dreams and don’t finish tasks you’ve been given,” she lightly admonished, trying to gain the upper hand. “We were worried you forgot your purpose here.”
Lucifer almost wavered and Alastor held his breath. The little angel squared his shoulders and pressed on. “When was the last time you had an important job other than delegating to other lower-level angels? I am older than you, I am an archangel. None of you come to visit, you don’t partake in the things I’ve created. When you know how a pair of lungs have to work for the creature to breathe, then come and boss me around!”
Sera frowned and lowered her head. “I see, I’ll be going then.” Her words were cold and stilted before she disappeared.
Alastor let his breath go, proud of his angel, and immediately accepted the tackle to his person. Alastor chuckled and hugged Lucifer back.
“That felt really good!” Lucifer grinned up at him.
“As it should,” Alastor assured him. “You are not the weaker one, she needs to remember her place.”
Lucifer surged forward and kissed Alastor silly and there was no more talking for quite some time.
Alastor did discover one thing, though, that pleased him as much as his angel. After drinking angelic blood, he gained his powers back. The shadows answered his call with just a few droplets. But that also meant he might not be able to avoid detection from Heaven, so he needed to be careful with this knowledge. He couldn’t resist showing off to Lucifer though, and grinned at the look at pride on his partner’s face.
“That’s amazing!” Lucifer cheered and flew around him in excitement. “You’re amazing Alastor!”
Alastor chuckled and polished his claws on his lapel. “I know, but let’s keep this to ourselves, no need to frighten your little family up above.”
Lucifer agreed and more kissing ensued, Alastor couldn’t get away from his mouth for the rest of the afternoon.
Later in the evening, one of the rare evenings, things shifted in their relationship.
Alastor got ready for bed in a thicker canopy of trees to block out the sunlight. Lucifer conjured him pajamas when he explained what he wanted and a cot to sleep on. Since there was no pain or discomfort in Eden, there was few things needed for comfort itself.
He placed his clothes on a little night stand created for him. And grabbed his pajamas, when he felt Lucifer come up behind him and wrap around his chest, digging his fingers into his chest fluff.
“Lucifer,” he warned. “We’ve talked about this, I’m naked, you need to wait until I’m clothed.”
Lucifer hummed against his neck and his hands wandered. “I have a few questions,”
Alastor sighed and leaned back into his partner. “Yes? This couldn’t wait until I was clothed?”
Lucifer shook his head against his neck. “Nope!”
The demon chuckle was good natured and he gave in. “Go on then.”
Lucifer kissed his neck and worked his way up his jaw. “You’re half deer.” He stated.
Alastor hummed at the pleasant feel of his partner’s lips and tilted his head. “Mmhmm.”
“But you aren’t half celestial being.”
“No, farthest thing from it.” Alastor murmured and shivered when curious fingers massaged his furry hips.
“Did you know they brought a man and a woman to Eden today?” Lucifer asked.
Alastor stiffened and went to pull away, to talk about what this meant, but Lucifer’s grip pulled him back against his floating form and held him tight.
“Alastor, are you half man?”
Alastor nodded. “Yes, I am.” He answered, his tone pensive.
Lucifer came around to look him in the eyes. “Humans were just created by Father, so that means Father didn’t send you, so where did my cute deer man come from?” He asked, blue eyes intense.
Ah, well, Lucifer may be a halfwit but there was a still a wit.
“You have to promise to believe me.” Alastor insisted and was surprised when Lucifer came up close and kissed his forehead.
“Whatever you say, I’ll believe you and I’ll keep your secret.”
Alastor blushed. He was naked, had his partner’s hands all over him and being outed, this was entirely too vulnerable.
“May at least put my clothes on?” Alastor huffed and reached for his sleep pants.
But Lucifer pushed him back a step, causing him to stumble backwards. “Nope!”
Alastor glared at his partner. “No?”
Lucifer’s eyes had a gleam to them, something hidden in their depths. “Tell me your secrets and I’ll tell you mine.”
“What does this have to do with my clothes, Luci?”
Lucifer smile turned decidedly naughty, something Alastor couldn’t say he’d seen before. “Because I like your body and I want to see it.” He stated.
Alastor face boiled and he sputtered. “Where is this coming from!?” He yelped.
Lucifer snickered and bumped their foreheads together, his arms over Alastor’s shoulders as he played with his hair. “You first, Al!”
Alastor scowled and scrunched up his face when Lucifer just left kiss after kiss on every surface he could reach. Lucifer’s hands roamed over his upper body and made him gasped and squirm.
“Alastor.” He prompted.
Alastor squeaked when Lucifer’s wandering fingers found a nipple. “I’m from the future!”
“Ohh,” Lucifer sounded intrigued and pinched the nipples in between his fingers and Alastor grabbed his wrist and eyed him suspiciously. He grinned and tilted his head. “Continue Alastor!”
Alastor grumbled and despite himself, pulled the other closer and wrapped his arms around the angel. “I was once just a human, several thousand years into the future, I’ll be born, I’ll die and I’ll become this. At first I wasn’t very thrilled with the deer features,” he admitted. “But I had power, and I could terrify anyone who thought I was an easy mark. I had enemies but I always came out on top…”
Lucifer wrapped himself around Alastor, scratching between his shoulders blades and making him rumble deep in his chest. The demon laid his head on top of Lucifer’s.
“I was fighting… someone who was much more powerful than I, and I got to cocky, I died for a second time and thought that was the end of it. And yet…” he tightened his grip on his angel, his little dove. “I woke up here, I woke up to you. I woke up at the beginning of it all.”
Lucifer frowned and looked so very lost. “What’s dying?”
Alastor slapped a hand to his forehead. “Something that doesn’t happen yet and I forgot.” He hissed out. “Be that as it may be, I am from the future and I’m not the good guy.” He cautioned but had to chuckle a little.
Lucifer didn’t look to like that though and Alastor was dragged over to the cot and laid out. Lucifer sat above him and removed his hat, letting it float over to where Alastor’s coat hung.
“That last part doesn’t matter,” Lucifer concluded and pulled his robes over his head and let them fall to the ground, leaving his bottom half in linen pants and his sandals on human feet. “You aren’t there anymore, you’re here with me, and as long as you’re with me you’re good.” He affirmed and started to pull his pants down.
Alastor sputtered again and grabbed his wrist. “What is this all about!?”
Lucifer blinked and grinned in excitement and something a little… steamy.
“Humans,” he stated and leaned closer with half lidded eyes. “Can have sex.”
Alastor blushed and fought to stop Lucifer from pulling his pants down again. “I know that, but why are you acting like this?”
Lucifer sighed as though Alastor was the thick one, and that was not allowed you little—
“I read how sex is for procreation, but it’s not like it is for animals,” he went on to explain, as though Alastor were the naïve one. “Sex can be very enjoyable and bring pleasure to both partners. And while you are a man, and I have male parts—I wanted to enjoy each other still. I saw where male parts have places they can go into other men so—“
Alastor sat up and looked scandalized. “Who gave this information to you?! I’ll wring their necks, your innocent mind shouldn’t see those things—h-hey, Luci stop ahk!” This whole thing turned into a quick game of rough housing with Lucifer winning by a large margin.
Alastor’s hands were trapped above his head by Lucifer, who looked down at him with such open want and happiness the demon froze.
“Alastor,” he teased. “By your own admission, I’m eons older than you.” He chuckled and leaned down to kiss his nose. “I know I act silly, but I do know a lot and I process information very quickly.”
Alastor huffed and his ears went back in embarrassment, suffering through kisses peppering his entire face and his ears as well.
“You did lie though, when you said Father made you. And lying shouldn’t be able to happen,” Lucifer murmured now against his lips, nibbling on Alastor bottom lip and causing him to gasp. “But you said you were made for me, and I think you were correct,” he panted against Alastor kiss bruised lips. “I think you were supposed to be mine, and you were put where you belonged all long.”
Alastor’s traitorous—supposed to be dead but no longer—heart skipped a beat. He moaned as Lucifer’s inquisitive mouth left his own to work down his jaw and nibbling down his neck.
“I know I can make you feel good, my cutie pie—“
“Do not call me that with us both like this you—“ Alastor stiffened and choked on his words when one of Lucifer’s hands wrapped around his half hard cock.
“But you are a cutie pie,” Lucifer pouted even while his hand gently worked Alastor into mind numbing pleasure. “You’re my snookums, my sweetie, my doodlebug, my cuddlebug, my schmoopy, my love lump, my—“
“HOLY SHIT SHUT UP!” Alastor shrieked and gasped when Lucifer twisted his wrist and he had to grab hold of the cot to not come out of his skin. “You are ruining this!”
Lucifer snickered. “I don’t think I am though!”
“If you don’t shut up and—ahhh!”
“Oh! You’re my little sugarplum!” Lucifer added and dragged Alastor’s precum from the slit to work him easier in his palm.
“No!” Alastor shrieked and turned burning red eyes on his partner. “You egotistical idiot, if you call me another na-na-ahhhhh yes yes yes!”
Alastor went slack after he came, claws dangling over the edge of the cot, his ears drooped as he panted for breath and his heart pounded against his chest. He watched Lucifer inspect the cum on his hand curiously before licking a strip off his pointer finger, making Alastor moan at the sight. Lucifer’s blue eyes widened as he looked at Alastor and licked his hand clean, Alastor enthralled by this silly angel doing something so dirty.
“You taste good.” Lucifer commented and vanished the remaining mess.
Alastor shuddered and tried to think through muddled thoughts. “Hmm, don’t say things like that.”
Lucifer grinned and rubbed at Alastor’s thighs. “Why not, it’s true!”
Alastor finally smiled and held out his arms. “Come here, dove.”
Lucifer cocked his head. “Dove?”
“Hmm, yes, if you’re going to give me a silly pet name, you get one too.” Alastor murmured and wiggled his fingers to coax him over.
But Lucifer wasn’t done with him just yet, and he said so. “There’s one other thing I want to try, if that’s okay?”
Alastor raised a brow but gave consent with a nod of his head, after all what else would he know besides what the main part of a man and woman could do—
“Ah!”
Lucifer middle finger was rubbing wet against his hole. The pucker clenched at his touch and his hips jumped in surprise. The angel was patient but persistent, his other hand came up to hold fast to Alastor’s narrow hip and follow his upward movement. Lucifer’s finger stayed, rubbing the pad in gentle circles with a wetness that never lessened. They stayed like that for a while, just careful touch and consistent pressure. Until Alastor started to relax into the touch and sighed. Until Lucifer’s touch loosened tightly clenched muscle and his finger easily slid inside, slick and wet. The feeling wasn’t as horrible as he thought it would be.
They didn’t speak for a while and when Alastor took a peak at his angelic lover, he watched how serious Lucifer was, how hard he was concentrating. How he was watching his own work and seem to take Alastor’s movements of any type of discomfort into consideration. Lucifer pushed his next finger in once Alastor was completely relaxed, the stretch was only uncomfortable for a moment before Alastor was able find pleasure again and relaxed into his pushed and pull. Lucifer took his self-appointed task very seriously, and by the time he was three fingers deep, Alastor was half dozed in the comfort of his touch.
“Alastor?” Lucifer’s whispered breath against his drooping ear barely pulled at his senses.
“Hm?” Alastor questioned and practically purred when warm lips kissed the inside of one of his ears.
“If you don’t like what I’m about to do, I promise to stop. We’ll never do it again.” He murmured and nuzzled close.
Alastor muddled thoughts tried to scrape to the surface and give a response, but then Lucifer’s blunt cock head was pushing inside of him. The feeling wasn’t like with his fingers, Lucifer’s cock was much thicker, like velvet wrapped steel. The way it filled him stole his breath away and he dragged air back into his lungs. The cock throbbed inside him and Lucifer had to pause halfway in. The angel gave a broken sound and Alastor opened his eyes to see him with tears pricking the corners of his eyes.
“I didn’t know—“ Lucifer gasped and was shivering. “Didn’t know this could feel so good.” He sobbed and with trembling hands he reached out for Alastor.
He reached for him, for Alastor’s comfort and security in this moment. Who was Alastor to refuse him?
Alastor bent forward and hugged his little dove close, whimpering in unison when Alastor’s movements caused Lucifer to go deeper.
“You feel so good, Alastor.” Lucifer gasped and kissed him.
They trembled and held tight to each other until they could bear for Lucifer to move again. Lucifer rocked his hip with stuttering thrusts, leaving dozens of kisses against Alastor’s flushed face. Pampering in affection while pleasuring him below. Alastor gasped when Lucifer brushed nerves inside him and despite his own overwhelming pleasure and emotions, Lucifer caught the tension and breathy sounds. The angel watched him with dark eyes as he rolled his hips to hit that spot again. Alastor jolted with every strike, nothing hurt, Lucifer was gentle with him. The crescendo of hot pleasure up his spine intensified until Alastor gave a broken moan of Lucifer’s name.
Lucifer didn’t make it further, when Alastor clenched down on him, the angel cried out in ecstasy and his spend filled Alastor’s insides. The feeling was interesting, Alastor vaguely noted the tingling feeling and warmth that spread through his lower half before they both fell asleep in the other’s arms, spent and sated.
Lucifer was very proud of himself the next morning. His hands warm and his touch playful as he told Alastor how cute he was and how good he felt. He asked for more and Alastor quickly relented. They didn’t last any longer this round, but it still felt amazing. They were half laying on their sides, with Alastor’s leg pulled back over Lucifer’s hip as the angel rocked into him. The throb of his cock was exquisite. Lucifer was far bigger than Alastor expected and was not disappointed. Pale fingers found his mouth and cut on his teeth purposely, doubling his pleasure as he sucked angelic blood over his tongue and rocked back into his lover’s cock.
When Alastor felt his climax, Lucifer followed close behind and they gasped and choked on their emotions. Collapsing into the other’s embrace and napped again.
The demon wasn’t sure how long they stayed in this little hidden grove Alastor carved out for himself. They didn’t need to eat or drink unless they wanted it. And at the moment the only thing either wanted was the pleasure of the other’s company.
The little angel’s cum still left a weird feeling inside him and he asked him why.
“Oh,” Lucifer murmured into his hair. “You don’t like messes, so my cum is just absorbed into your body, easy peasy.”
Alastor was very glad he was a man. “Yes, easy peasy…”
When they finally were able to keep their hands off of each other for more than enough time to sleep in between bouts of sex, Alastor suggested they might venture out and Lucifer might need to make an appearance now that he had humanity to attend too.
“Only if you come with me.’’ Lucifer pouted and kissed his jaw. “I don’t want to be away from you, sugarbear.” Lucifer smiled like a cat that got the cream.
Alastor scowled and swatted his shoulder. “‘Not that one.”
Lucifer snorted a happy little laugh and squeezed the demon close and wiggled back and forth with his prize in his grasp. “You only get one more no and then the next nickname is the one that sticks.”
Alastor grumped and ran claws over pale arms. “I don’t agree to this.”
Lucifer rubbed his cheek into the soft fur of Alastor’s shoulder. “Cuddlekins.” He declared.
Alastor honestly wasn’t thrilled with this one, but he couldn’t imagine the next one being better.
“Would you like to know the next option?” Lucifer offered, his smile open and his eyes bright.
Alastor sighed and had to smile, this angel held no ill will for anyone. He truly just wanted to help and be loved. His vague memories of his meeting with Lucifer the King of Hell were poor after so long spent in Eden where he stopped counting the days, but he could remember Lucifer saying Heaven didn’t listen, that he tried so many times to change how Heaven saw the world. He remembered Lucifer’s pain and he remembered laughing at it.
Now though, falling in love with the angel and knowing how great he could be if given the chance, if someone were there to guide him and help him. Alastor had the opportunity to give him a better future, save Lucifer that heartache.
“Fine,” he huffed. “Choose whatever silly name you’ve set your heart on.”
Lucifer perked up and his smile turned giddy. “Oh well then, if it’s whatever my heart’s set on—you’re my snugglebuck!”
Alastor rolled his eyes Heaven’s ward and questioned why he loved this silly angel. “Yes, fine. That’ll do then, but no more!”
Lucifer squealed in excitement and pushed Alastor back onto the cot. Leaving kiss after kiss against Alastor’s face. “Snugglebuck, y’know ‘cause you’re a deer and super snuggly?”
Alastor grunted, squinting away from his overly excitable lover. “Yes my dove, I get it.”
Lucifer pulled back suddenly and Alastor turned to look up at him, a brow raised.
“You said that before. Is that really my nickname?” He asked, his tone reverent.
Alastor’s blush came back in full force, leaving him feeling ridiculous considering all the debauchery they’ve gotten into. “Is that a problem?”
Lucifer’s eyes gleamed with emotions and tears welled up in his blue eyes. He cupped Alastor’s face with such gentle care that the demon held his breath for what he might say.
“You,” Lucifer’s voice wobbled. “Are the best thing that has ever happened to me.” He murmured and looked at Alastor like he hung the moon. “I love you, Alastor.”
Alastor stuttered and grabbed at his face in return. “I-I love you as well, but all this over a nickname?”
Lucifer gave a wet chuckle as his tears flowed. “Did I ever tell you what they call me in Heaven?” He sniffled. “The first draft, choirboy, Heaven’s mascot, God’s pet… I just… I’ve never been accepted by my family. They hear my ideas and call them childish. I wanted Eden for so long,” he was rambling now, all his hurt coming out at once. “I pitched this for so long, but Sera and the others didn’t see a use for it.”
Alastor stayed quiet and only wiped at his tears. Lucifer needed to get this out, needed to say what he kept hidden.
“Why does everything have to benefit them!” He exclaimed and leaned into Alastor’s touch. “Why can’t things be created to just be?” He anguished. “So, I went to God and I pitched everything straight to him. He immediately agreed and I thought… I thought they’d see that, if Father could see the good in this idea, than they might see it too.” Lucifer sniffled and scrunched up his face. “But they just said of course he said yes, you’re the favorite, he does anything you ask. Like my ideas weren’t the reason he picked them, just that it was me who pitched them.”
Alastor shushed him, bringing him back down from his hysterics so he could talk again.
Lucifer took a deep breath and went on. “I’ve been down here for a very long time. Father promised someone would be sent to keep me company. When I saw you, I didn’t care that you were mean to me, that you put me down. You still stayed by me, you still hugged me back and in your own way, you helped me with my ideas.” He squinted when Alastor wiped more insistently at his eyes.
“You look at me, and you think I’m silly, but that doesn’t mean you don’t care about me. You care about my innocence, you care about my feelings and you listen.” Lucifer cried again. “You listen and you love me, and you call me dove, the first thing I created for my Father.”
Lucifer leaned forward and pressed their foreheads together.
“I don’t care what you are, I don’t care where you came from,” he murmured. “You’re mine now and I’ll take care of you always.” He promised and kissed so sweetly Alastor was choked with his own emotions.
When he pulled away this time, Lucifer’s smile was more genuine and happy. “I want to be with you forever.”
Alastor returned his smile. “I think I can do forever.” He teased.
The Tree was ultimately always going to be Lucifer’s undoing.
Alastor found it on his own or so he thought at first. He’ll forever believe the Tree called him in some way, that it did the same thing to Lilith in the other timeline. Alastor hadn’t been looking for the damn thing. His plan for Lucifer was to build up his confidence, make him better at speaking. He had charisma of his own, he just needed help channeling it. The plan was to have him speak up in council meetings instead of avoiding them for eons and letting them make all the decisions for Lucifer’s project. Eden was Lucifer’s dream and Alastor would help facilitate that dream. Without having to see him fall from grace.
So, when he found an apple tree, he didn’t think much of it. He hadn’t seen apples around, and it’s been quite a long time since he woke up here, but perhaps Lucifer had only just created them.
He went to pluck one, a sudden need for a bite of supple red flesh and crisp fresh sweetness—that should have tipped him off right there, he hated sweets—when Lucifer’s hand gently took his and pulled him away.
“Alastor, that’s not for you to eat, snugglebuck.” He warned and guided the demon further away from the tree.
Alastor blinked several times before his brow lowered. “That’s the tree then, of Knowledge of Good and Evil.”
Lucifer gave him a quizzical look even while he continued to guide him away from the hill.
“Yeah, something you remember from where you came from?”
Alastor’s ears swiveled in thought. “Yes, you… you and Lilith gave it to Eve. I don’t remember the specifics, but it gave humanity free will and Heaven didn’t like that.” He replied.
Lucifer looked over his shoulder and back to the tree. “Is that why you look the way you do? Because you ate of the tree?”
Alastor chuckled and shook his head. “I look like I do, because I used the free will you gave me to do evil things.”
Lucifer’s eyes darted back to his. “Evil?”
Alastor nodded and allowed Lucifer to pull him into his arm, folded nicely to his chest since the angel was floating. “Yes, humanity used free will to do as they pleased. Some chose to be good, while others like myself chose to commit acts of violence. When we die—when the body no longer breathes and becomes a part of the earth again—we become souls that descend into a place dubbed Hell. It’s punishment, and where I went. I was there longer than I was among the living and thrived.”
Lucifer frowned and pet Alastor’s hair. “How can you thrive in a place meant to punish you?”
Alastor leaned into his touch. “I enjoyed tormenting others, I enjoyed doing terrible things, because I hated being bored.” He answered.
Lucifer wasn’t looking at Alastor when he said. “You don’t do those things now.”
And Alastor just replied: “I don’t have free will to do so now, I tried with that dodo. I can’t kill here.”
The whole thing had caused him a bit of an existential crisis, but when the choice is taken from you, after a while you just have to move on. But it was still his choice to fall for Lucifer, his choice to kiss him and his choice to stay by his side.
He didn’t see the way Lucifer looked at the Tree, the way his eyes darkened. He only felt Lucifer pull him closer and kiss the top of his head.
When he looks back on this moment, he truly believes that damnable Tree has some sort of sentience to it.
Nothing happened immediately, nothing ever does in Eden. There is no true way of telling time, but you do get the sense that things have transpired. His memories of Hell and the him of Before are hazy now, he couldn’t tell you what New Orleans was like or what his mother’s jambalaya tasted like or how to even recreate it now. He vaguely recalled Lucifer having a daughter with Lilith and that thought rubbed him the entirely wrong way.
He did meet Lilith at some point. Alastor was ever a gentleman and greeted her and told Lucifer to conjure her some clothes, which she was incredibly happy about. Honestly, he just didn’t want Lucifer to look at her naked form. The only naked body Lucifer would get to see was Alastor’s own.
A friendship was formed, at least something Alastor would designate as a friendship. It wasn’t the same level as what he used to call friendship with Lucifer, but nothing with Lucifer was normal.
Lucifer and Lilith were fast friends. Alastor hated it. They both had an innocence about them that clicked so easily. Both the dreaming hopeful sorts. He couldn’t always be around to watch them either, because he had no interest in being around Adam. He may not remember everything about Hell, but he remembered who killed him.
He also may not have the same freedoms as before and oh how he wished he could remember what the sound of screaming was like again, or what meat tasted like, but he still had the ability to feel negative emotions.
He was old enough now to be a bit more level headed and his insanity was a whisper of a past life. He knew what was wrong, he was insecure and jealous. Because at another point in another time, those two were in love and have a child together. What if Lucifer decided he would rather a conventional relationship with a beautiful woman instead of a monster for a man?
Alastor had to sift through his emotions before he finally brought up his insecurities with his dove.
“You think I’m gunna WHAT!?” Lucifer exclaimed looking like Alastor had slapped him.
Alastor sighed and ran claws through his hair and tugged at an ear. “My thoughts, whether ludicrous or not, are still my thoughts and how I feel.” He affirmed and couldn’t meet the angel’s eyes.
Lucifer moved himself until he was all Alastor could see, brow furrowed and frown set in place. “There’s a word you used to call me, halfwit. That’s you now, you’re the halfwit.”
Alastor took the bait easily, Lucifer was getting better at riling him up now, a couple thousand years will give someone the upper hand eventually.
“I am not a halfwit, my feelings are fucking valid! She’s a beautiful woman, you’re a beautiful angel, you both look very lovely when you stand beside each other!” Alastor argued.
Lucifer had the audacity to roll his eyes at him. “You silly buckaroo—“
“I distinctly remember giving you one nickname allowance—“
Alastor was quieted with a hand to his mouth, his ears twitched back and he glared at his dearest.
“Shush you silly, adorable, cute, deer man.” Lucifer ordered but his lips were trembling with the need to smile. “You have my heart, I want to snuggle by beautiful buck and pet your ears for eternity. I don’t want anything from Lilith but friendship. You are my cuddlebuck.” He reasoned and removed his hand.
“It’s snugglebuck.” Alastor sniffed and crossed his arms.
Lucifer laughed and leaned in to kiss his nose. “Oh, sorry, it’s only been a few hundred years since we came up with your designation, I misspoke, snugglebuck.”
Alastor blushed and lifted his chin. “You’re forgiven.”
Lucifer giggled and they shared a sweet kiss.
And that had been that.
A little later, Lucifer decided Alastor’s suit and tie were boring and switched him into a red robe. Much to Alastor dismay.
“I prefer my old clothes, dove.” He grumbled and looked himself over.
“Aw, but this shows off your tail! I only get to see you fluffy cute tail when I get you naked.” Lucifer argued and floated around him, appraising his work.
“Hm, somethin’s missing…” he mused and tied the outfit up around the waist with a black bow at Alastor’s back, a faux black and red glowing halo affixed to his antlers and his hair tied up with ribbon. It had gotten quite long and Alastor hadn’t bothered to trim it recently.
Alastor blinked at his new look and peered into the mirror Lucifer conjured for him.
“I’m hardly a divine being, dove.” He pointed out with a touch to his fake halo.
Lucifer smiled and said. “You told me once, that people in the future were trying to redeem the souls of the damned. I think that has merit, and I think you coming back here, says you were redeemed.”
Alastor smirked and placed hands on his hips. “Oh yes, I look like I’d be right at home with the cherub.”
Lucifer giggled. “Maybe not the cherubs, but you’d look adorable in the choir!”
Alastor chuckled and tapped the space where Lucifer’s nose would have been. “This face wasn’t made for the stage.”
Lucifer huffed and grabbed his hand to kiss his knuckles. “It is if I say it is.”
Alastor just smiled. “If you say so, my little dove.”
“I do, my silly snugglebuck!”
The day everything changed, Alastor was determined to never forget.
He was at one of the ponds, twirling his claw through the waters and watching the fish nibble at the little blades of grass he scattered, when the earth beneath him shook violently.
Alastor pushed himself to his feet. He watched as the sky darkened for the first time and seraphim descended from the clouds. His breath caught and he melted into his shadows, searching for his angel. When he found Lucifer, he was standing over Lilith who was hiding Eve.
A half eaten red apple clutched in her hands.
Alastor cursed. When had they schemed this?!
He moved swiftly and before the two could be whisked away where he couldn’t follow, Alastor materialized in front of Lucifer with a snarl.
“What is that!?” Sera cried and lurched back with the others.
Lucifer’s eyes widened and he grabbed Alastor around the waist, manhandling him behind his floating form.
“That is mine, and none of your concern. None of this is your business!” Lucifer shouted.
Alastor grabbed his arm and tugged, “Lucifer, what have you done, my dove?”
Lucifer didn’t look back at him. “The right thing.” He murmured.
But Alastor shook his head. “You had better options, you were making headway in the meetings—“
“I’m tired of hiding you,” Lucifer pushed back. “Everything you wanted, everything you were working us towards, you still wouldn’t have a place in. Because in their minds, you still shouldn’t exist.”
Alastor winced and tightened his grip on Lucifer’s arm. “You don’t know if that could have changed!”
Sera at this point regained her footing and pressed herself into their conversation.
“You’ve been hiding a monster in Eden?!” She accused.
“His name is Alastor, he’s half man and half buck. He belongs to me and we’re in love.” Lucifer stated simply. “Don’t call my love a monster.” He ground out.
Sera looked disgusted and the group of seraphim behind her were aghast.
“His form is an abomination of creation—“
“How would you know, you can’t create.” Lucifer interrupted with a smirk. “I create things, Father creates things, not you. You’ve no right to call anything an abomination. He’s beautiful, he’s adorable, he’s mine.”
Sera’s frown set lines in her face. “Your prideful arrogance won’t save you here,” she lofted. “You let a creature of darkness live in Eden and gave humanity fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil. You’re fate is sealed, Lucifer.”
Lucifer’s arm came back to hold Alastor close. “I get my trial in front of God. You are not the final decision maker.”
Sera scowled and waved a hand in the air. “Than to trial,” she agreed and all at once the seraphim flew into the air and up into the clouds.
Lucifer watched them for a moment before turning to Alastor. “I’ll be right back—“
Alastor snarled and his eyes turned black, his power surged through his veins. “Oh no, my dove, you won’t be making any more decisions without me again. I’ll be right there by your side.”
Lucifer smiled despite it all and scooped Alastor up into his arms. He turned to Lilith and Eve and gave them as much of a reassuring smile as he could.
“Everything will be alright,” he promised. “We’ll be back before you know it!”
The moment they landed in Heaven, everything was chaos.
The seraphim threw a massive fit over Alastor’s presence, they accused Lucifer of making a demented angel, what with his faux halo and robes. Alastor spotted Lucifer’s twin sitting high above with Sera, he looked disgusted and arrogant, something Sera accused his angel of being.
When they came to stand in the circle for this trial, golden chains shot up from the floor and wrapped around Alastor. They dragged him to his knees and kept his arms pinned to his side. Lucifer tried to rush to his side, but large angels with spears forced him back.
“What are you doing?” Lucifer exclaimed and made to reach for Alastor.
“He’s dangerous,” Michael answered and waved his hand. “This is all a misunderstanding, you’ve been deceived by this creature. We’ll rid Eden of it and you’ll be forgiven by Father. You were tricked by that beast to hand over the apple.”
Alastor watched as Lucifer’s gentle distress turned to rare rage. His lip curled up and he bared his teeth in a snarl, his eyes glowed gold before he spun around to glare at his brother.
“No!” He screamed and the Heavens shook so harshly, pillars groaned. “You don’t get to make those decisions! He’s mine!”
The celestial beings shouted in panic as their world shook for the first time. Michael and Sera stood stunned at the power Lucifer displayed. But Lucifer didn’t care, he turned back to Alastor and the guards with a snarl and growl. He flew at one of the angels and grabbed them by the throat and tossed them away like the being was made of paper. The other guard scrambled away in fright.
Lucifer stood over Alastor, protective and magnificent.
“You wanted a trial,” he snarled out. “So let’s have this trial. My love didn’t know I was giving humanity the apple, he wanted me to talk you down, work on everything from up here.” He shouted around the voices. “But none of you ever listen. You’re pompous, you’re arrogant, your pride is too great to hear anyone else talk!”
“So I took matters into my own hands.”
Michael glared from above but Sera spoke up. “You call us prideful, yet you declare yourself the one to make the decision for humanity. You doomed humanity because of your own pride.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes and Alastor had to smirk. “Oh please,” he called out. “Humanity is not doomed! If free will were to doom them for their actions, we’ll have a place for them to go below and give them a second chance. They are our responsibility, Father’s most loved creations and mine as well. I will handle those that cannot find redemption, but they should have that choice.”
Michael shot to his feet. “Ah, so you wish to rule, is that it?” He accused. “Being the favorite isn’t enough for you now?”
Lucifer countenance didn’t change in the face of the obvious insult. “I do this not because I am the favorite, but because out of everyone here I have more understanding of humanity than anyone of you ever truly will. They are not your toys, they deserve to make the choice of good versus evil. What is life without choice?” Lucifer urged.
“Enough!” Sera exclaimed. “I’ve heard enough.”
The seraphim and archangel shared a meaningful glance, before looking down their proverbial nose at Lucifer.
“You knowingly and willingly went against Father’s direct orders.” Michael intoned.
“We don’t need Father to make a ruling on something such as this.” Sera stated haughtily.
Alastor tensed and shook his head. No, this couldn’t happen again, Lucifer deserved better. He went to speak but Lucifer shushed him and met his desperate gaze with one filled with warmth and love.
“Whatever happens,” he murmured. “We’ll handle it together.”
“You show no remorse for the crimes you’ve committed?” Michael asked.
Lucifer pointed his finger at his twin. “I’ve committed no crimes! I’ve loved humanity and shown it more respect than you and your lot ever will!”
Sera scowled. “Then may your pride be your downfall.”
Alastor shook his head. “No, Lucifer, don’t do this to yourself. Blame me!” He urged but Lucifer’s resolve wasn’t shaken.
His dove moved to stand in front of Alastor and pushed his face into Lucifer’s chest. His fingers ran through his hair and shushed him. “Whatever happens, we’ll handle it together.” He promised again.
Alastor heard a sword pulled from its scabbard and tried to shake free from Lucifer’s hold but his love held firm, shielding him from what was about to happen.
Everything happened so quickly and where was God for his favorite? Didn’t he have the final decision? Why wasn’t he protecting his child?
Lucifer hushed him from above, hiding his face away, even when a shadow came over them. Even when the sing of the sword came through the air and the sound of flesh and bone were severed. Lucifer’s hold tightened in his hair and Alastor jerked his gaze up. He watched as Lucifer’s wings toppled from his back and fell away, he watched as golden ichor slipped from Lucifer’s mouth and his face contorted in agony. Alastor watched in his own agony as Lucifer’s beautiful blue hued high leveled halo flickered before disappearing altogether.
“You’re a snake, Lucifer,” Michael hissed somewhere behind in a whisper. “You’ve always been full of yourself, you’ve always gotten your way. No more, you’ll lick the dirt as you gaze upon Heaven for the rest of eternity. I hope you’re happy.”
Lucifer wasn’t able to reply, blood choked his very breath. They cut off his very essence, his wings, and were leaving him to die. But Lucifer still had determination in his eyes and when the chains fell away, Lucifer pulled Alastor to his feet and stumbled back. Alastor refused to be idle and picked up his love, holding him to his chest protectively. The guards were back and shoved spears at them, forcing Alastor to back up out of the pavilion and towards a sheer drop. His grip tightened over Lucifer, knowing what was about to happen.
He needed power to protect them. He felt the warmth of Lucifer’s blood soaking the fur of his arm and he shifted, wincing at the choked off cry of pain from Lucifer, and brought his arm to his mouth and drank his blood. The seraphim around them made disgusted sounds and judgmental comments and none of it mattered.
He drank down as much as he could, feeling his power surge through his soul. He didn’t stop, he drank as much as he could stomach until his limbs trembled and his shadows hissed at his feet, his shadow emerging for the first time since he woke in the garden.
“Lucifer will prove you wrong,” he snarled out. “You’ll eat your words and regret you ever underestimate Lucifer.”
Michael scoffed. “We’ll see then, won’t we?”
Lucifer suddenly pulled himself up, grabbed Alastor’s robes and turned to glare at his twin.
“Michael,” he gurgled. “I have one last thing to say to you.”
Michael glared back but said nothing.
Lucifer smirked and lifted his middle finger like Alastor taught him and wheezed out. “Fuck you.”
Alastor had to grin then, he had to give a laugh of insanity, his little dove wouldn’t be outdone. Alastor’s hoof caught the ledge and he ground his teeth. They were pushed back and just like that, they were falling.
Alastor wrapped around Lucifer and his shadows enveloped them. He felt Lucifer’s arms hold him in return and a golden light surround them. Their powers mingling in the need to protect each other. Alastor kissed his angel and licked the blood from his mouth.
Their landing was not soft.
The crater they left was massive.
Alastor hadn’t felt pain like this in so long. Had he ever felt pain like this before?
His limbs shook with strain to stand. He heard Lucifer’s sobs and he propelled himself forward, reaching out for his love. Answering claws reached out in return and pulled him close.
Lucifer’s now clawed hands were blackened from where he kept the heat of their descent from scorching Alastor’s fur. His pearly whites were jagged rows of sharp teeth, his blue eyes gone replaced with glowing red as was the circles on his cheeks. The horns protruding from his forehead were bleeding like a fresh wound.
The scent of brimstone and sulfur was a familiar memory that Alastor took a lungful of. He gently interlaced their claws and gave his best smile.
“We match.” He pointed out. “It’s a shame though, no fluffy ears for you.”
Lucifer choked on a painful laugh and tried to return his smile, though he looked uncertain. “You’re not scared of me?” He growled out.
Alastor snorted a laugh through his own pain. “Me? Scared of a silly little angel? Parish the thought!” He exclaimed and grinned wide. “My dove, you’re as beautiful as the day we met.”
Lucifer whimpered and slumped against his front. “I’ve never felt pain before.”
Alastor wrapped arms around him and made sure to watch out for the sharp points of horns. “I know,” he whispered. “But you’ll grow used to it, and I’ll be there every step of the way. We’ll do this all together.”
Lucifer nodded. “I love you, Alastor.”
“I love you as well, Lucifer.”
Several thousand years later…
Alastor sat in his plush wingback, unseeing while staring at his book. He couldn’t even tell you what the book was about, so lost in thought.
“Penny for your thoughts, snugglebuck?”
Alastor blinked rapidly and looked over at his husband. Some sort of mechanism in his lap, screws floating around while the King of Hell tightened a spring into place. His forked tongue sticking out in concentration. Yet he knew Alastor was stuck in his head. He always knew when Alastor needed him and visa versa.
“I want a baby.” Alastor stated simply.
Whatever Lucifer was working on was crushed in his claws. His head snapped in Alastor’s direction and his face was flushed gold.
“Ye-yeah?” He squeaked. “O-okay?!”
Alastor grinned wide. “Is that a problem, dove?”
Lucifer shook his head vigorously. “Nope, not at all!” He squeaked. “Do you want to make them now?”
Alastor chuckled at his eagerness, as though they didn’t take a tumble just this morning. A rare day of nothing to do but each other.
Redemption was apparently possible. Lucifer didn’t hate sinners for how they used their free will, because he could whip them into shape and send them to Heaven. When the first sinner found themselves in Heaven, God called a meeting between Heaven and Hell and praised his favorite boy for his work.
Lucifer and Alastor had no decorum in that moment, giddy at a win after struggling for over a hundred years with this need to spite the seraphim, and Alastor loved nothing but a good challenge and a healthy dose of spite.
They turned from God, who was entirely to smirky and all knowing for Alastor’s liking—considering what he allowed to happen to Lucifer—and pointed at Michael and Sera and laughed obnoxiously. For a solid five minutes they laughed and held onto each other, just giggling and making a scene. God never stopped them and waited for them both to calm down before he surprised everyone.
“I’m so glad this worked out better this time around,” God sighed and it was like a balm to your tired soul when His breath hit them. “Lucifer, Alastor,” He drew closer but Alastor still couldn’t see His face. “If you would like, you may live among Heaven. You’ve proven that souls can find redemption still, and Alastor has thoroughly proven himself worthy.”
Alastor held himself back from rolling his eyes and kept his smile in place. “Whatever my King wishes is fine with me.” He deferred, because they already had this conversation before coming up here.
Fuck no.
Lucifer held his claws up and smiled. “We’re fine where we are, plus I’m too busy to be so lazy among the clouds. I enjoy my work and my life with Alastor. But thank you, Father.”
God had laughed a joyous sound and sat back. “This version of events pleases me.” He commented. “By your leave, my son. If you have need of resources, let us know. If you wish to visit for vacation, you are welcome.”
Alastor liked going back to Eden for vacation, and fucking each other senseless in the forest. The beach was a nice new addition, but the forest held good memories for them both.
“No, not now, Lucifer.” He replied, but he already had a lap full of angel anyways.
“When, tomorrow?” Lucifer asked and leaned into Alastor’s space without care.
“Hmm, how about we take a vacation to Eden?” Alastor asked instead and grinned at the obvious excitement on Lucifer’s face.
“Sure, do you want me to carry or do you want to?”
Alastor pulled his dove closer and they shared a kiss before he answered. “I’d prefer to carry, if it’s all the same.”
Lucifer nodded so fast Alastor was sure his head was about to pop off. “Yes! That’s perfect, can I switch your nickname to snuggledoe for a while?” He asked a bit cheeky.
Alastor rolled his eyes. “If you must.”
“I really must.” Lucifer decried to match his energy which ended in a tussle that turned to love making.
Yes, he could agree with one thing from his father in law. This version of events was much better.
