“You prefer to earn your keep,” Lucifer repeated slowly, the gears in his head creaking into motion. It was a stupid idea. Grade A, grass-finished bullshit. But he’d felt a spark when he’d heard her sing, and he’d be absolutely damned if he lost it now.
Perhaps she could sense it, too, because she took one curious look at his face before pinching the bridge of her nose. “I feel like I am going to regret asking this, but… what?”
“If I tell you, you have to promise that you’ll hear me out to the end, okay? And, uh, maybe not punch me.”
“...I reserve the right to punch you if necessary.”
“Right. Okay. That’s fair.”
Lucifer took a deep breath.

Summary
Waking up to blue skies was not what Alastor was expecting. Alastor wasn’t expecting to wake up, to be fair. Bleeding out from an angelic wound didn’t lend itself much in the way of coming back from dying a second time. The color of the sky was more of a shock. Instead of a blood red sky encased in a Pentagram, crystal clear blue skies with fluffy white clouds were above him. A blue bird flew overhead and chirped a merry tune. Alastor blinked a few times, just to be sure of what he was seeing. But no, nothing changed. He breathed in and the air was almost sweet from the scent of flowers, the breeze was cool and the sun was warm.
Surely he didn’t do anything that would warrant actual redemption that Charlie was gunning for.
Alastor sat up. He looked around and looked down at himself. Still a demon, still in his deer form. His claws felt around, but his cane was nowhere to be found. Just soft dewy grass under his fingertips.

Summary
Alastor meets Lucifer 2 years before his 7-year long sabbatical, and they engage in a drunken, mistaken night of passion.
What Alastor didn’t expect was to meet Lucifer again after said sabbatical, who vaguely remembers the Radio Demon and nothing of their midnight foray. Of course he didn’t know a thing about their child. Alastor would like to keep it that way.
If only the fallen angel could stop caring about them so much, things would be much easier.
