"Woah, what even is this place? It looks like a castle.. never seen anything like that before. I've only seen them in books!" Satsuki pointed up to the castle, which was surrounded by the uncleared mist, and glistening from the blood moon, her face full of excitement, she's never seen such a huge fortress before.
"Of course it is a castle, I don't think we'll fly over that.. probably that drawbridge thingy would let us in, and then we can look around. Sounds good?" Reimu scoffed, shrugging as the drawbridge lowers, letting the three in.
As they were all inside the castle, they decide to look around, eventually seeing candelabras around, with Marisa curiously breaking most of them around, with small rewards with hearts, power and score items.
"Siiiick, this castle's got the good stuff! Come on guys, break these here and let's look around!"
"Marisa, you sure that's okay to break stuff in here?" Satsuki questioned to the magician, unsure of the antics she had for damaging property.
"Oh, sure it is! We gotta at least find something useful before we head on out to find who did it!"
Reimu broke one of the candelabras to find an axe. Great. Was it really necessary? Surely not, but it's for just in case.
The nurse turned around to see an incoming zombie, its growling and limp walking was terrifying, and so was the wretched stench of the decaying living corpse.
She screamed as the Marisa shot at the zombie, killing it in an instant.
Blood and guts were spilled on the carpet.
"W-WHAT WAS THAT THING?! WAS THAT.. A ZOMBIE?!?!?" Satsuki held herself close to Marisa, terrified for life after watching the body splatter to the ground. It almost made the kirin nurse vomit from the smell.
"Sure it was, who knows if there's going to be more coming around, then you have to fight!"
"I have a hunch that there is monsters, rather than youkai.. never seen a castle have deadly creatures with deformations and whatnot.." Reimu mumbled, as she flew through the corridor, shooting her ofudas and needles at the monsters, including ferocious leopards that were after her.
Marisa and Satsuki begin to catch up, shooting their bullets at the monsters, this includes skeletons, mermen, and an incoming youkai of darkness.
"I've heard this castle has food here.. surely I'm free to wander around, is it so?~" Said the youkai who is now shooting circular bullets and lasers, slowly enshrouding them in a thick smog of pure darkness as they flew, but they carefully made their way through the halls so they don't bump into anything as they shoot.
Moon Sign "Moonlight Ray"
They split to dodge such bullets and kept close to avoid the closing in twin lasers, but with Reimu who got an axe, she threw it at the youkai, stunning her temporarily rather than splitting her head open from a lucky guess of accuracy.
The smog dissipates, allowing them to continue on the journey.
More zombies ensue, so did flying, bloodthirsty bats. They were also shot down instantly, and somehow fairies were here, and with all the damage some, they collected hearts, more score/point items, even chunks of walls for meat in case of low health.
It was one hell of an adventure, and it just only started. That is that a giant bat started to fly at them once they stopped.
It let out this unholy clicking sound before rushing towards them, spitting fireballs as Reimu got out of the way, Satsuki ducked down to avoid the fireball, and Marisa had to think fast to avoid, eventually they had to shoot their shot at the huge bat.
Health slowly went down, and there she was there, Rumia. The youkai they previously fought in the hallway, now riding the bat as if it were a pet.
Darkness Youkai Spreading the Wings of Night, Rumia
"Looks like I'm having a feast tonight, and it's going to be wonderful!" She said, as she shot her bullets towards the girls, but then as they dodged and grazed, she had to pull out her spell card.
Night Sign "Night Bird"
She spread out her bullets in arcs, making sure they get to them as cluttered as possible, but that didn't stop them. The giant bat kept shooting fireballs while at it.
Satsuki shot flowers as she played sweet melodies on her erhu dodging much bullets as much as possible.
"These bullets are too much for me to handle!!" The kirin nurse whined as she tried to graze without being hit, this is her first time, and it's already intense.
"Satsuki! This is just the beginning, trust me on this!" Reimu shouted due to the fact the bullets were loudly shot, and this is a noisy battle.
Marisa used her Master Spark to cancel away the bullets, turning them into grey star items that add up her score.

And luckily, that blast did not break away any part of the castle, and the fight continues. Though the bomb was temporary, it helped enough to clear most of what's in the way.
Spell card end. Rumia shoots several lasers, even a few bullets to stall.
Lasers end, and more bullets are shot. Pretty easy, huh? This is an STG mixed with platform, after all.
Dream Sign "Evil-Sealing Circle"
A holy barrage bomb strikes deeply at the youkai, making her activate her second spell card. She wasn't ready to give up just yet.
"Did you really have to be in our way? All we're doing is investigating the cause of this mist, da-ze!" Marisa exclaimed loudly as she glided through with her broom.
Darkness Sign "Demarcation"
A circle of blue, green, and red rice-shaped bullets were shot out, stopped for a moment before spinning at sharp angles, widening the circle before summoning a cluster of blue bullets that were homing downwards, directly at the girls.
Luckily they all grazed it at once, which gave them enough time to shoot down Rumia altogether, as then the fight didn't last, with the giant bat still being ridden on shot down more fireballs that synced well with the blue cluster bullets.
They also shot down the bat too.
The bat was engulfed in flames and into a charred nothingness, Rumia was left heavily injured on the ground from such defeat.
The girls finally take a breather and land safely. A red crystal ball is summoned as a reward for their effort in defeating the boss, lending them back their health as needed.
"About time! Let's take a break and look around this place before we can continue on with our mission." Satsuki stretched and took a deep breath as the three girls continued on walking through the empty halls.
