Chapter 1: THE MEETING

Chapter Text

Magnus c'mon it would be fun. Leave her boring homework and come with us. I don't want to hear anymore. “ Catherine shouted from the other side.

Magnus breathed out annoyingly. It's not that he hated parties and pubs or clubs, instead he loved them. However, his college work and his part time work in a cafe didn't left him alone for a minute.

“ Ok ok cat I'm coming. Now it's good.” He replies and in return could hear an appreciation for himself. He rolled his eyes and went forward to the wardrobe for the pub.

Magnus Bane, age 28 years old. Originally he belongs from Indonesia but after losing his parents he was raised in an orphanage along with Catherine who's the daughter of the owner of that orphanage. And later he met with Sam and Rapheal.

She's soft-hearted and always loved to be happy and make those around her happy. Next comes Rapheal. Magnus didn’t have any elder brother but he could tell if there's any then it would be the same like Rapheal. He was the most protective person among them. Lastly comes Sam who's just opposite to Catherine. He's shy in nature and a good friend of theirs.

Just like Magnus worked in a cafe , Catherine in a pub as a bartender. Rapheal as a tutor and Sam as a photographer. So after a long break from both works the three decided to do a party however Magnus got stuck with his homework which created a problem for him. However like before Catherine’s humble request he could never ignore.

Hence he put a navy blue translucent shirt with vertical line pattern matching with a brown sleek. Intentionally he left open the upper two buttons with a blue eyeliner as makeup along with lip gloss. A snake style ear cuff and a light necklace. For today he let his hair fall over his eyes like a messy style. Often he didn’t but today he let them. With a last glance at the mirror he smiled while shifting his hair and went out.

//

Pandemonium was already alive when Magnus stepped inside. The bass pulsed through the ground like a heartbeat, neon lights splashing across bodies that moved without care for tomorrow. Today he didn't want to come but tonight, after another week of scraping rent together and keeping his head above water, he needed to breathe. He needed to remember he was young.

And his friends were waiting.

“Magnus!” Catherine's voice cut through the noise, warm and commanding. She waved him over from a corner booth, her dress glittering under the shifting lights. Shay always looked like she owned the place, even if she was just here for the night.

Beside her sat Sam, already grinning like Magnus had walked into a private joke. Sam had that disarming charm still that made people forget their worries. One hand drummed lazily on the table, the other cradling his drink as if he was just as much part of the music as the DJ.

Raphael, on the other hand, was leaning back in the shadows, eyes sharp and posture casual but calculating. Always the quiet one, but his smirk tugged at the corner of his lips when Magnus approached.

Magnus slid into the booth.“Well, if it isn’t my favorite trio of trouble.”

Catherine leaned in, brushing a kiss against his cheek. “Took you long enough. I was about to send Sam to drag you in.”

“I would’ve carried him over my shoulder,” Sam said brightly, smiling at Magnus. “But then you’d owe me two drinks.”

Magnus rolled his eyes, though a smile tugged at his lips. “You’re unbearable.”

“And yet you keep showing up,” Sam shot back, playful as ever.

Raphael chuckled under his breath, finally speaking. “Because without us, you’d drown in your textbooks and stitching needles. Admit it, Magnus, you need this.”

Magnus’s expression softened, and he let himself relax against the booth. For a moment, surrounded by them—Catherine’s fierce loyalty, Sam’s humor, Raphael’s cool steadiness—he didn’t feel so alone.

Catherine lifted her glass, eyes glinting. “To survive another week.”

Sam clinked his glass against hers with exaggerated flair. “To survive Catherine’s bad taste in men.”

“Excuse me?” Catherine shot back, but her laugh betrayed her. She glanced at Sam a second too long, cheeks warming, before quickly turning back to Magnus.

Magnus noticed. Of course he noticed. But he didn’t say a word. Instead, he raised his own glass. “To survive… everything.”

The glasses met, the sound sharp against the heavy beat of the club, and for a fleeting moment, Magnus felt like he belonged.

What none of them knew, not yet, was that outside these flashing lights, fate was already turning. And somewhere in the city, an Alpha with steel in his veins and shadows in his heart was about to enter Magnus’s life

//

Alec Lightwood had everything from which a man is defined as perfect. He was rich as he's son of famous ex CEO of Lightwood Enterprises, Robert Lightwood. And now after Robert, the responsibility goes to Alec's hand. Moreover, he's handsome. He came in the list of top ten most handsome people in this world. Although he's not much into social platforms. That tall dark six feet alpha has nothing that made him imperfect.

However there's a word in this world nothing was perfect, even the moon has scars and the sky roars thundering. So a man couldn't. Yes Alec Lightwood was lacking normal things like he thinks he didn't deserve love because he never got it which was the main reason for him being stoic.

Years before he married an omega. It was a love marriage and Alec was very happy at that time. But two years ago his mate died when he's saving their youngest son during a sudden firebreak in their apartment. Max Lightwood. And like anyone Alec made distance from his own son. Means from Max. The little baby wasn't even aware of what he had done. But was it his fault? No, of course not. Alec knew this matter too. Yet somewhere in his heart reject him for being close to his son.

Max was now only two years  old. He has an older brother. Edward Lightwood. While Max wasn't very close to Alec. Edward was  there; he's of calm nature, born as alpha and kind from heart. Even he agreed that what his father was doing was wrong. But he couldn't help because he knew in this way he could never make his father love Max.

Losing a mate was equal to losing all emotions, feelings and soul. The same goes to Alec. He's totally devastated from what happened two years ago. An eighteen year old boy knew this thing. But he hoped that maybe one day his father would come back to Max and take him in his lap.

Now meet Sera Lightwood, she's the most different person from them. Alec adopted her along with Edward before he married Eliot . That's the other reason but since then Sera became a child to Alec. She perhaps did not call him father but she always carried a deep respect for Alec which makes him a father figure.

And the way Alec treated Max she knew why. But she also couldn't help because according to her it doesn't matter. The hardest thing for her was to change Alec. And she believes that no one could do this yet she hoped just like Edward that maybe one day a man will come and tear all the walls which Alec created around his heart.

And now in pandemonium Alec had cane but he has his own reason. Robert said if he didn't marry within a month all the responsibility of the company will go to his step mother's hand.

It's been ten years that Alec's parents are being divorced. Maryse was a proud doctor and she refused to be a typical wife for Robert which was the major reason for their divorce but there was Robert’s case too. He had an affair with Olivia who's the current wife of Robert.

And after many hurdles and conversation they parted and lived separately. Maryse had a boyfriend now whose name was Lucian Graymark. Both love each other and Alec could tell that's the exact thing people call love.

So now return to Alec's problem. Yes it's true he wanted an omega but the omega has to have three qualities. Number one he had to obey Alec and couldn't ask questions about how much he would be late and what his favourite things blah blah. Number two he had to manage his children, especially Max. So Alec could live freely without any headache in his meetings. Next come and the last one he could never ask for Love. Because Alec couldn't give him this.

And he knew a normal omega or from his ex or one night stands he didn't want. As they will have very clingy or nonsense things. Many questions will be in their lips repeatedly and this Alec didn't like.

So he came to the pub to get rid of all these thoughts and problems. He could not lose his seat in the company so what he had to do he had to do quickly. To breathe fresh air pandemonium was the correct option. The club was as it was, he imagined.

However as he entered his face met with the dancing stage as daily there's a place filled with omega's. He's just about to leave the place when his eyes meet with a person. That boy was dancing on the floor in the midst of the people. His moves made Alec wonder how a person could be this so alluring when he waved his waist Alec's heartbeat waved rhythmically.

He left his mouth open and his eyes were stuck on that image. From the look he's younger than Alec. Maybe in mid twenties where Alec is in mid thirties. As Alec's eyes went lower he met the golden skin of that boy who's wearing a translucent purple colour shirt with brown sleek. His bangs looked very attractive in the neon lights.

Still the boy didn't know that Alec was looking at him. He's totally unaware and Alec's lusty eyes admired him from top to bottom. The CEO's breath got high and he could feel his pulse running like an athlete in a marathon. And in this moment he wanted nothing than to fuck that boy deep and hard not only this he wanted that golden coloured boy to be his to be marked by him.

He shook his head, taking out his lighter from his jacket pocket as he went outside. God knows why but that boy woke up to things which were silent for years. Alec could feel what he felt years ago when he first fell in love which ended in a way that left scars in Alec's life and he isn't in a state in which he can hug those emotions which were there.

He needed omega not for himself but for his company to stabilize his position and for his baby boy Max. Until now he knew he could never forget those haunting memories along with Max. It did not matter how innocent Max was. So he needed omega for not wanting one.

But the more Alec tried to repress his feelings the more they pressure him. It didn't leave him for a second in which he couldn't imagine those brown eyes and that crossing smile. Is it wrong to desire him without falling for him? Alec had many one night stands but none can give the pleasure just by looking at that omega.

And he would be lying if he said he didn't want that omega under himself. His ears even started to crave his moans. He lit out his cigarette, smoked it, letting out his mind to calm. Looking up his eyes met stars and his mind roamed back to his mate Elliott. How much he's happy with him. That it took years to forget and to move forward in life.

Elliot would never come in his life but he promised that he would choose his life. He would not weep everyday recalling his memories. Sometimes even he felt ashamed for what he did to try to forget. He sighed and thought about going back to his home.

He just took his steps when he heard shouting. It's not out of pleasure type of shouting but one needed help. He threw out his cigarette and rushed inside. He didn't know why but he did. Old memories turned into reality. And somehow today he had to save him.

The pounding music of Pandemonium barely registered as Alec’s instincts screamed louder than the bass. He had spotted that same omega being dragged toward a dark, back room by two alphas — and then, just as he pushed through the crowd, he saw him slump forward. The omega  was unconscious, limp in their grip. Panic roared in Alec’s chest.

Without a second thought, Alec charged forward, shoving anyone who got in his way. His eyes burned with fury as he reached the two alphas.

“Let him go!” Alec’s voice was ice and fire combined, cutting through the music like a knife.

The alphas hesitated, their confidence faltering under Alec’s commanding presence. In one swift move, Alec grabbed that omega, hoisting him protectively into his arms. The omega's head lolled against Alec’s chest, skin pale, lips slightly parted, breathing shallow.A surge of protective rage coursed through Alec. No one touched my mate.

He stormed out of the back room, weaving through the crowd. Every step was calculated; every breath, controlled. Alec didn’t care about witnesses or consequences . This omega's safety came first.

Once outside, Alec pressed the omega against his chest, checking for injuries. “Stay with me… stay with me,” he muttered, voice low and urgent.

The omega twitched, eyelids fluttering, a faint groan escaping him. Alec’s amber eyes softened just a fraction as he whispered, “You’re safe now… I’ve got you.” Even in unconsciousness, that omega’s warmth against him stirred something deep and irreversible in Alec’s heart.
