Our house (in the middle of our street)

Summary:

Clark has faced all kinds of strange things. He lives in Smallville after all. Smallville, where there’s a meteor freak every other week.
But when two kids show up wearing his father’s symbol…let’s just say Clark is more than a small bit confused.

Notes:

Firstly, to anyone here who is reading or has read my other ongoing work: I am still working on it but I have also been watching Smallville and thought of this. I started writing this while watching season 4 so that’s all the knowledge I had of the show at the time.

I know that Kon and Jon aren’t canon in Smallville but I just thought that if they were, this would be a hilarious situation.

This is just a crack fic, so don’t take it too seriously.

I tried my best with it so I hope you guys enjoy!

Work Text:

Clark dived behind a stack of crates in the warehouse and debated his options.

Cormac, a local scientist, had been affected by the meteor rocks while alone in his apartment. He was also tying to invent time travel while alone in said apartment. Not that crazy at all right? He had been fired from his last job for his insane ramblings about needing to go back in time and save his wife from her undeserving fate.

His wife had died in a car accident not long ago. The accident was a hit and run, and in a cruel twist of fate, the driver of the other car was never found. What drove him insane wasn’t the lonesome fact that she died, but additionally the fact that everyday as he walks the streets, he looks at every person he passes and wonders ‘is this the person who stole my whole world? The one who tore my heart out and ripped it into a million pieces, shredded it until it was unrecognisable?’.

Cormac decided that only natural course of action was to invent time travel and prevent her from ever stepping foot in any cars on the day she was fated to die.

He had all the math and mechanics figured out, but what he really needed was a power source. He had scoured every inch of the planet for something powerful enough to bring his invention to life and he had finally found what he was looking for in Smallville, in the form of a certain green meteor rock.

When he tried to turn on his machine the whole thing had quite literally exploded in his face. The meteor rocks imbedded themselves into his very skin. The rocks, mixed with the machinery had apparently given him some sort of power over time.

People in strange clothing, claiming to be from both the past and future, had been popping up all around Smallville. They had also all, in some shape or form, been related to somebody who lives in Smallville. When questioned, all the relatives of the time travellers claim they were attacked by a tall man with greying hair. They all said he jumped out infront of them and shot them with a glowing beam emitting from the very palms of his hands.

Needless to say, the police were very doubtful of these stories and chalked them up to some sort of mass hysteria. But when the relatives of different times began to be discovered, the stories became a little less unbelievable.

When a man claimed to be Lana’s great grandfather was discovered shortly after she was attacked herself, Clark decided to garner the help of Pete and Chloe and begin looking into it. All the people who were lost in time were luckily able to stay with the family they had here in the present, so at least there was no issue with where to put them.

Chloe dug up the article about a man matching the victim’s descriptions and found out about him being arrested for attacking a the CEO of the company that fired him and began looking into his past. When they discovered his past, they realised what had happened. Considering the powers he was given, it’s seemed almost as though the universe was backing him. He could bring the relatives of everyone to the present. He could bring all of them but his own.

The teens heard a report over a police radio that there was another attack so Clark had quickly raced out of the school to the sight the attack was reported at. When he got to the scene, there was nobody there other than the police. Using his x-ray vision, Clark looked around and noticed a person inside a nearby warehouse. He had firstly attempted to talk to the man, but Cormac was having none of it. He began to attack Clark so Clark had been forced to behind the pile of crates for cover.

Clark ran towards the man at super speed, knocking him to the ground, but while on the floor, Cormac aimed his hand right at Clark and hit him with his powers right in the gut. Clark stumbled backward but regained himself quickly. He then grabbed Cormac and left right next to where the police were taping off the last crime scene, trusting them to deal with the man.

Clark knew exactly what Cormac powers did and he braced himself for what he would find when he walked back into the warehouse, but nothing could prepare him for the sight that awaited him inside.

In the middle of the warehouse stood 2 dark haired boys. One looked to be around 10 or 11, while the other looked to be around the same age as Clark himself. What caught Clark’s immediate attention was the symbols and clothes both boys were wearing.

The younger boy was wearing blue ripped jeans with a blue, red and yellow hoodie. Printed on the centre of the hoodie, was the same symbol Clark found on Jor-el’s necklace. The other boy had on a t-shirt with the same symbol but he was wearing red pants with a yellow bag around his waist, a black leather jacket and round, black sunglasses. He also noted the boys piercing.

“Who are you and where are we?” The older boy demands suddenly.

Clark stared at the boy, unable to answer, too stunned by the situation at hand. The older boy had one of his arms outstretched, protectively covering the smaller one.

“Well are you gonna answer or just stare at us like a creep?” The same boy shouts angrily.

Clark debated how to answer and ultimately decided to go with the full truth.

“I’m Clark, Clark Kent and I know this may sound a little unbelievable but I think that you guys are from the future and I also think you might be related to me somehow.” Clark cringed as the words came tumbling out.

Clark guessed that they were from the future, as he couldn’t think of any past time period where people dressed any bit similarly to them. Both the boys looked him up and down, a look of recognition dawning across both of their faces after a few moments pass.

“How, how old are you?” The younger boy spoke up for the first time.

“16, why?” Clark could probably guess why they wanted to know his age.

“You are a lot older than that where we come from,” A look of almost horror dawned his face as the older boy continues, “oh my god, I’m older than you! I’m too young to be older than you!”

Clark has to suppress a laugh at the sudden statement, but it seems the youngest boy chooses not to suppress his and bursts into a fit of giggles. The other boy lightly punches him on the shoulder teasingly.

“I’m Jon, and this is Kon,” Jon points to Kon. Kon looks at Jon with wide eyes.

“Dude, this is time travel, you can’t tell him anything or you could mess up the timeline and if I mess up the timeline I think Bart might actually kill me,” Kon whisper shouts to Jon quietly enough that if Clark didn’t have his super-hearing, he wouldn’t have heard them at all.

“Yeah but I mean, wouldn’t us just being here at all mess with the timeline?” Questions Jon.

“We still shouldn’t mess with it any further. Also, Clark I know you’re listening,” Kon turns his head to look at Clark. “We should probably tell you we know about the whole alien thing, I feel like being up front about that will save us a lot of trouble. I also think we should take this conversation back to the farm, away from any possible prying ears,”

Clark is startled by this sudden revelation but he nods his head nonetheless.

“I, um, my truck is just outside,” Clark says.

The three boys walk out to the truck. The ride to the farm is spent in tense silence, nobody daring to speak a word. They pull up outside the house and walk inside together.

“Mom, dad, I’m home,” shouts Clark.

“Clark,” comes the voice of his mother, “You will not believe it! You know the smiths up the road? Their great niece from the future has been staying with them and she just disappeared last night and now they have no memory of anything that happened since she got here!”

Martha enters the hall and sees the guests Clark has brought home with him.

“Oh! Hello, and who might you boys be?”

——

All the Kents gathered up in the kitchen as Clark finished up his half of the story. The new additions seemed to be having a silent conversation which the rest of them were not privy to. They seemed to have come to an agreement if their nods and break in eye contact were anything to go off of.

“So I guess if you’re all just gonna forget this after we leave there’s no harm in telling you,” Kon says, “This squirt here’s full name is Jonathan Samuel Kent,” He finishes with a slight smirk.

“It is kind of crazy seeing you this young dad. And seeing you guys with so few wrinkles, grandpa and grandma.” Jon adds on cheekily.

Shock overtook the room as Clark and his parents attempted to process this information.

“Oh yeah also,” Jon smiled broadly as he stoops down and picks up the kitchen table using only his left arm. The sight of a tiny eleven year old boy holding up the large, wooden table that was nearly double his size, was quite a sight to witness.

“You’re such a show off, Jon.” Mutters Kon.

“So you inherited Clark’s abilities,” Martha says it as less of a question and more of a statement.

“This is a lot to take in at once,” Jonathan starts, “not only do I have grandkids, but those grandkids have the same amazing powers as their father!”

Kon looks down to the floor. Him and Clark had always had more of a brotherly relationship than a father son relationship. He didn’t really know how to proceed, teenaged Clark already believed that Kon was his son and Kon was sort of afraid of what he would do when he learned the truth. There was no way Kon was going to call Clark dad but if he started calling him anything els, he was going to get suspicious.

“Do you both have the same powers as me?” Clark asks.

“Sort of, except for the good ol’ tactile telekinesis,” Kon responds.

“Dam it, I owe Bart 5 dollars,” sighs Jon.

“What, why?” Kon looks at Jon confusedly.

“He bet you wouldn’t last the whole mission without mentioning your ttk,” giggles Jon.

Kon resisted the urge to thwack him on the head for about five seconds, after which his hand somehow made contact with Jon’s skull.

“Ow!” Shrieks Jon.

“Kon! Don’t hit your brother!” Jonathan Kent lightly scolds.

“Oh please, I bet he barely felt a thing,” Kon argues his defence.

Mister Kent’s glare alone was enough to make Kon swallow his words.

“Ok, fine I’m sorry,” mumbles Kon.

“I humbly accept your apology,” the corner of Jon’s mouths twitches up in a slight smirk.

“Wow look at you mister grandfather,” Martha jokes with Jonathan.

Clark is watching the whole interaction very carefully. Usually his father is the most skeptical of the family when it comes to new people but it seems that Jonathan is welcoming the boys who claim to be from the future with open arms. Clark doesn’t really know what to do at this moment. He’s only 16, he’s much too young to be a father! And on top of that he’s not even dating anybody, who could their mother be, maybe Lana?

A familiar, loud voice cuts off Clark’s train of thought.

“Hey, Mr and Mrs K, something smells great in here! What’s on the stove tonight?” Comes the vice of no other than Lois Lane. Great, this is just what Clark needs. His and Lana’s kids from the future show up and Lois just has to come in and be her good old bothersome-self.

“Mom!” Screeches Jon, as he run over to the doorway in which Lois is standing. He nearly knocks her off her feet as he collides with her and wraps his arms tightly around her waist.

“Mom?” Lois and the Kent family all echo the word.

“Em, kid? I don’t know who your mother is but she sure as hell ain’t me.”

“Yeah I second that,” Clark pipes up.

“Oh my god,” sighs an exasperated Kon as he pinches the bridge of his nose. “And you wonder why we don’t let you tag along on our time travel adventures, Jon.”

Jon turns his head out from Lois’ chest, ”I thought you didn’t let me come because you wanted to hit on women from different time periods without me being able to snitch?”

“Oh you little-!”

“Somebody tell me what the heck is going on right now!”

“Yeah, yeah just a minute,” Clark turns to look at Jon, “who do you think that woman is?”

“Lois lane, duh.” Jon says as he throws his eyes up to the clouds, answering Clark’s question as if it were the most obvious answer in the world.

Clark’s jaw drops to the floor so fast he swears he just got whiplash. He also knows technically that’s not how whiplash works but he’s making an exception just this once. Extenuating circumstances and all that. Nothing about this situation makes sense, his own thoughts included.

Lois Lane and Clark Kent. Lois Lane and Clark Kent with children. These kids have got to be from an alternate universe of something because there is no way that Lois Lane and Clark Kent get in a relationship, there is no way that they get into a relationship that lasts long enough for them to have, not just one, but two children. Clark would never date Lois, she’s just so…well she’s just so Lois!

Clark looks at the boys, really looks at them, he notices their eyes, their noses, their ears, their facial structure, he notes every single detail. The smaller one has Lois’s eyes, her nose, he even has her facial structure, he really does look like her.

The older boy, Kon, on the other hand, looks nothing like Lois. He had Clark’s hair, Clark’s eyes, Clark’s face, but nothing of Lois’. In fact, Clark would put money on Kon having no blood relation at all the woman. Could he be Lana’s? Clark takes in the boys appearance and quickly concludes that his mother is not Lana either.

Perhaps Clark is overthinking everything, maybe Kon just takes after Clark more so than Lois? Clark cannot believe that he’s hoping that he’s hoping this child belongs to Lois. He just doesn’t want their to be some secret third woman who he has a child with before he was one with Lois.

“And she’s both of your mother?” Clark asks cautiously.

When Kon immediately looks down at his shoes, Clark knows that it’s all the answer he needs.

“No, Kon’s your secret love child with Lex Luthor,” Jon smirks.

“Ha ha, very funny, but,” Jonathan speaks up, “I’m pretty sure we already established that we are going to forget anything you tell us the moment you leave, so there is no need to lie.”

But the way Kon looks at Jon angrily, the way Jon has stopped smirking and is now looking at the floor, guilt covering his features, tells Clark that there was some bit of truth in the boy’s statement. Oh god. What does this even mean? He’s going to be sick. Or pass out. Or both.

“Jonathan Samuel Kent, what the actual-“ Kon shouts.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, it’s like a reflex! I just forgot who we were talking to for a moment!” Jon attempts to defend himself halfheartedly.

Kon sighs to himself.

“I really deserve some sort of tropical vacation to try grow back the hair you make me pull out with stress.”

“Here’s to that!” Whoops Lois. “Now can someone please tell me what is going on?
