Truly, just truly, Uzi sometimes should keep her mouth shut.
“Oh what, too chicken to just spend some time with her~?” V snarked out, noting how Uzi was already failing to hide how anxious the thought of some time with Cyn was.
It would be nice, but repressing more of her emotions again…?
“Come on, Uzi! I’m sure it’ll all go well! Just go in, drink some oil, and chat with Cyn! You know she doesn’t bite, so it can’t go that badly!” N said, trying to support his best friend as best as he could, by being a massive golden retriever about it.
“You know the alternative is worse, right? Not even paid time-off would cover how embarrassing it would be for you to, y’know, cheerlead for us?” J mentioned, once again finding a way to subtly antagonise Uzi, and bring up a good point.
That point being that Uzi had a reputation to keep up, and cheerleading would just kill any hope left of that reputation staying unbroken. How can she still stay angsty and emo if everyone has the image of her in a cheerleading uniform? UGH.
“...Okay, fine. BUT, if this goes wrong, you all have to wear maid dresses to school for the next month, got it?” Uzi relented, knowing how this deal wasn’t the most unfair, but definitely not at all that fair.
“Eh, I’m fine with that.” “I’m always up for trying anything new!” “Eh, not like we didn’t do that a long time ago.” V, N, and J said respectively, all knowing just how desperate this deal was for everyone’s sanity…
Mainly Uzi’s.
“BITE ME! I don’t get how that versus a cheerleading dress isn’t the same tier of cringe to you!” Uzi shouted.
“Because it’d be funny? Plus, this is for your own good. You know that, right?” V said, finally mentioning the important bit (and of course, trying to uplift Uzi slightly).
“Ughhh, whatever, I’m going. Don’t wait up for me, seriously, don’t, I’ll maul you if you even screw an ounce of this up for me. ‘Kay?”
“Yup!” “Go get her, toaster.” “Just quit stalling, slacker.” N, V, and J all said simultaneously.
“Bite me.”

Somehow the spire’s ship felt almost… warmer than it usually did. Being in a frozen wasteland with corpses scattered all around of course. But a few things stuck out to Uzi here, that being Cyn in one of the chairs using the cockpit as a makeshift table to sit the kettle on, along with both teacups sat next to it near their respective seats. And a weird, familiar green and silver stand the kettle was on as it heated up.
“Uh… hey?” Uzi tried to say casually, along with only slightly losing her cool already seeing the setup in front of her.
“Oh, hello- Uzi! You’re here on time, the oil is- nearly done!” Cyn attempted to say enthusiastically as best as she could. At least, Uzi took it as such.
“Uh, cool, cool. So, why a tea party?”
“Well, I just wanted- to experience what the manor- was like again. So I went to- find these from anywhere I assumed I’d- find them.” Cyn mentioned, motioning to the tea accessories.
“Okay, but how are you heating that up in the first place? I thought you didn’t want to screw up the ship any more than it was?”
“[Giggle], I’m using- your gun! It gets hot enough- from charging that it heats up anything- it touches right where the energy gets stored in the gun!”
“Wh- why did it have to be my gun and not some random heater or something?”
“I wanted to get you here- regardless. After all, this was- for you and I to- hang out. Was it not?”
“Oh- uh, it was, yeah! Definitely made the choice myself!”
“[Chuckle], Of course- you did, silly.”
“...I see steam coming out of the kettle, but that weird screeching noise isn’t happening… It’s weird.”
“I modified the kettle- to stop it from making that noise. It hurts my- receptors when it goes through them.”
“Oh yeah, I get that, not too fun to hear when it’s actually right next to you.”
“No, it is not. Anyways, take- a seat! The ‘tea’ is ready.”
“Uhm… sure…”
As Uzi sat down across from Cyn, she’d realised two things.
One, this was the most comfortable she’d felt in a long time, and two, she felt way too close to Cyn.
Sure the chairs didn’t really offer that much space, but it almost felt like the chairs moved themselves closer just to tick Uzi off. She wasn’t going to get mad, nor was she going to let any anxiety win over her just for some space in a tiny fricken’ ship! Yeah! She was just fine. She was-
“Would you like- visor shavings in your oil, Miss Doorman?” Cyn said innocently.
…She wasn’t okay.
Nope, not one bit, too little space, too many emotions, too much. Too much.
“Uhhhh… sure.” Uzi attempted to get out, hoping Cyn didn’t catch on to the cluster-frick of emotions swirling in her.
“Hmm, good taste. Here!” Cyn said as she passed the (somehow well preserved) teacup.
“...Thanks.” Uzi mumbled out before taking a sip (with a finger out, of course). The oil helped to steer her just a bit. Enough to get a hold on herself at least.
“So… why a tea party with just me?”
“Hmm? [Anxious Expression] Oh, u-uh, you’re just- more fun to mess with than- the others..?” Cyn somehow stuttered out more than usual.
…Huh. Weird.
“Oh, okay…? NotthatIdon’tlikeitofcourse! It’s just that… I’m sure N would’ve killed to get more time with you, especially since we’ve been so busy the last few months, y’know? Why waste it on me?”
“I didn’t- ‘waste it’, Uzi. [Frustrated] I wanted to spend- time with you! Just you- only.”
“Oh. Uhm… Thanks?”
“You’re welcome. [Smile]”
…How do you even continue this?
As they sat in a somewhat comfortable silence, Uzi kept asking herself that same question over and over. But every time, it stayed the same…
Ask her out.
That was the last part of the deal of course, tell her the truth, or wear a cheerleader outfit and cheer for her and the disassemblies for not killing everyone a month in. Uzi would cheer for them any day… Just not in a cheerleading uniform. Anything but that.
But damn, asking someone out was hard, especially if you’re pushed into it by your friends(?).
But Uzi was a drone of her word. She wouldn’t back down, no matter how hard this was. Actually, it being hard made it more likely she’d overcome this, somehow.
So, she just tried to say it, no matter how botched it came out, she’d say it here. Right when it was just her and Cyn. Nobody else to judge her as she said it, nobody at all.
“So- uh, don’t- er, get annoyed or anything but… I- uhm, kinda like you…?” Uzi finally stuttered out, finishing the deal.
“You… do?” Cyn responded, genuinely taken back for once.
“Yeah, like, in a romantic way?”
“Okay… t-then kiss- m-me. [Determined Expression] If you do, then- you have to kiss- me to prove it!”
“‘Kay, fine!” Uzi said as she put her cup down, then pushed herself off the chair towards Cyn.
She was all over the place mentally, but she knew one thing.
Uzi Doorman doesn’t back down from a fight. Especially one she’d win.
So she walked over, sat in Cyn’s lap, and pushed in, kissing Cyn. And waited…
After the shock, Cyn reciprocated and pulled Uzi in closer. And for once, something in her clicked.
Damn, she really did like Uzi like that! And Uzi should’ve done this a long time ago…
Even after they both pulled away, Uzi stayed in Cyn’s lap, just calming herself down. The hardest part passed quite fast for her. Much faster than she thought it should’ve. But it didn’t matter now. Honestly, did it ever?
“So… are we- like.. girlfriends now or something?”
“If you- want to be, then yes. [Grin]”
“Uh- cool! So…. I guess I should say that….”
“I love you, Uzi.”
“WH- oh come on! I wanted to say that first!”
“Too slow, silly! [Smug]”
“Bite me!”
“[Giggle] You’re so- cute.”
“W-whatever, love you too I guess…”
…
“So did they give you a deal too or?”
“Oh yes, that’s why I have- your gun.”
“They told you to use my gun to get a rise I’m guessing?”
“No, they gave it- to me to have an excuse to- bring you here.”
“Oh, what if you didn’t take it?” Uzi asked as she reached over to grab her cup.
“They would, make me dress up like- V and J and take off my- maid dress.”
“Oh ew! That’s like, your main thing too other than the voice box!”
“It is, yes, so I took the offer. It was easier then-”
“Ruining your reputation in a ‘prank’?”
“Yes. What, they gave you- a deal too?”
“Yep, go to this party or wear a cheerleader uniform and cheer for you and them tomorrow.”
“Oh… well, at least- you’re here with- me now.” Cyn said as she pulled Uzi slightly closer, pushing her tongue out smugly at the entrance to the spaceship.
“What? What’re you- WHAT ARE *YOU THREE* DOING HERE?” Uzi shouted as she realised she had a crowd of three watching her and Cyn.
“This was- the last part of my deal. [Saddened Expression].” Cyn shamefully said.
“Yep, and this was DEFINITELY worth the wait!” V said gleefully.
“BITE ME! Just give me and her some *privacy*!” Uzi shouted as she slammed the door shut and hid further into Cyn.
She could hear some snickering and a very audible *aww* from N specifically from outside. But that didn’t matter now. She had Cyn, she was with Cyn now. And no amount of embarrassment would change that. None at all.
“ANYWAYS! I think we have a party to continue, right Cyn?”
“Oh, yes! I forgot about this- party! So, more tea Miss Doorman?”
“Yes please, Miss Cyn.” Uzi said as she started snickering with Cyn.
And even now, she knew the embarrassment was still worth it, the pressure was worth this. Just to be in Cyn’s arms in comfort. Just for a little while…
She was comfortable again.
