Chapter Text
A pirate story is what started this all. Deacon had managed to convince Chase to let them go into a pirate story, due to a confession between the main maiden and the sea witch. Chase suddenly forgot about his fear of water at the mention of a kiss between the two.
Deacon was happily steering the ship when Wave stumbled into him from behind, making them crash down onto the planks below. Wave on top of Deacon, who laid there flustered, the red accentuated his freckles.
"Shoot- so sorry, D. My key-" Wave muttered, trying to pull away. Deacon gasped when he was pulled up as Wave tried to pull away. The strings of their keys had somehow tangled together, Bronze resting on Deacons clavicle while Rose glowed between the two bodies.
Wave groaned then moved to sit down on Deacon's stomach to untangle the keys. Deacon flushed more and tried to help, but Rose kept twisting itself more and more until there was no cord left to tangle.
Deacon and Wave were face to face, dirty brown locs falling onto Deacons cheeks.
"What is your key doing?" Deacon managed to squeak out, which made Wave shrug. Deacon could feel Wave's breath on his face and his nose nudging against his own.
Rose flew up and pat Deacons lips with its edge, then pat Waves.
"I am not kissing Dorkin," Wave whispered to the key, but it did nothing to hinder Deacons ability to listen. Rose wiggled slightly, then laid on Deacons lips once more. Wave sighed, his own cheeks heating up.
"I think.." Wave started, looking down at Deacon, who was red in the face and eyes wide. Wave sighed. "I think Rose wants us to... kiss.. and then he'll let us go,"
"Nope!" Deacon yelped and looked away, accidentally yanking Wave with him. Wave tumbled to his side, now the two were laying down face to face. Deacon groaned.
"I am not having my first kiss be because of peer pressure!" Deacon attempted to rip the keys off of their respective cords, but neither broke. The tugging only made them intertwine more.
"Im going to be your first kiss?" Wave giggled. "How old are you, again?"
"I-" Deacon huffed and kissed Wave to shut him up. It started rough and mean, forced through frustration, but it soon melted into genuine love. Deacons lips were slightly chapped while Wave's were soft and gentle.
As the kiss went on, both parties closed their eyes and fell deep. Neither felt it as Rose untangled himself from Bronze, the keys laying on the wood between the humans.
Deacon was the first to pull of, gasping slightly for air. Wave smiled and sat up, cupping his own hot cheeks.
"Good one for a first kiss," Wave chuckled, which made Deacon flick him.
When Deacon himself sat up he was met with a smirking little girl.
"First kiss at 21? Sad," Prunella laughed, and only then did Deacon notice her phone.
"Dont you dare," Deacon huffed, but a hand went to block him.
"She's a kid, let her be," Wave smiled and stood up, offering his hand to the boy below. Deacon muttered under his breath and took Wave's hand and was quickly yanked up to stand. Wave was oddly strong.
Deacon pushed the bronze key back under his shirt, which made Wave realize he should do that as well. Rose glowed in his hand before the key was dropped down against Wave's chest.
"Where's Chase?" Deacon asked, face still red.
Prunella pointed down the ship, where Chase was bent over the edge of the boat, kissing Buddy, who was stuck in the water. Deacon sighed.
"He didn't see us, right?"
"Not to my knowledge," Prunella shrugged and walked off. Deacon sighed again, which made Wave pull him into a hug.
"Hey, it's okay. Rose is weird. I really dont care," Wave laughed. Deacon smiled a little and leaned into Wave's arms.
