Work Text:
It had been a long day of competition, and Dean had worked his way methodically through the brackets all the way up to the final match.
The crowd in the bleachers roared as Dean pinned his opponent on the wrestling mat. He sprang to his feet as the ref blew the whistle and lifted Dean’s arm.
“The Sullivan County wrestling champion is Dean Winchester!”
Sonny rushed down, grinning widely. “I’m so proud of you!”
A hitch caught in Dean’s throat. “Thanks,” he husked.
As Sonny drove them back to the farm, Dean wished Sam had been there to see it.
