Chapter 35
Kamui looked up at Fuuma. He didn’t realize how much he had missed the other male. With graduation upon them, what if they never made up? What if this was when they’d parted ways? They’d never see each other again, then what? Were the past two years meaningless? “What about?”
“Us. I understand you’re afraid of losing me, but as much as you mean to me, I have my future to think of too. But just because I’m thinking of that doesn’t mean you’re not included in said future.”
“F-Fuuma...”
“We’re graduating in a few hours, there’s a graduation ball. I don’t know about you, but I hate to be on the bench when I know I used to have someone in my life. Me going off to play Pro-Quidditch is not the end of the world. I will be back.”
“I know, but I’m afraid…”
“What have I always told you about taking life one day at a time?”
“I know, but haven’t you ever been scared?” Scared was never a word Kamui would use to describe Fuuma. Yes he was human, but he was always so brave and happy and confident. He wasn’t one to let things stew and let his emotions bottle up and turn into a time bomb ready to go off; but surely he was afraid at some points of his life?
“Of course I was. The first time I remember being scared was December 24, 2017. I lost my brother and my sister that night. My sister was taken from me by my mother; not that I ever liked her anyways; and then my brother. You might as well say she took him too. To this day I don’t know why he stayed with her and it’s not like he’s going to tell me. The only reason I was able to somewhat enjoy my Christmas that year was because that same night…I met you.”
Kamui was at a lost for words. How? How could one person influence another person so much? How had he not realized all of this sooner?
“So Kamui, I do have a question for you. After graduation will you—”
“OI! Kamui! Fuuma! You two can kiss and have makeup sex later, we need to go become Hogwarts’ alumni! Subaru’s speech is starting soon!”
“Ah! Coming, let’s go Kamui!”
Kamui let himself be dragged. What was Fuuma going to ask him?

After Subaru’s speech, the music started for the ball during which Subaru spent most of his time sitting on the side, watching his sister waltz around with a boy she had introduced as Kakyou, not that Subaru was unfamiliar with Kakyou of course, but he had never met him face to face.
Fuuma and Kamui were dancing; a bit awkwardly, but together.
I know I’m being selfish, but is it so much for me to want him here? Everyone else is having a good time. I’m just sitting here pouting and being childish. Maybe I should read something.
"Subaru! You're not sitting there like some nerd in a bookshop! You're dancing! This is the last time we’ll be in this castle! So come on! I'll dance with you."
Emerald eyes glanced over to Kamui who was with Fuuma but they looked more like a couple that had just gotten together as opposed to one that had been together for two years. Did that mean they had made up but were putting up walls?
"Subaru you may want to pay attention or you're going to trip over your dress robes."
"Nonsense Hokuto, I'm not that clumsy—WAH!" Subaru felt himself falling, pulling his sister down with him.
"See! I told you! You need to learn to pay attention!"
A strong pair of arms grabbed both twins before they hit the floor. "Now Hokuto I expect Subaru to be clumsy, but I expect more from my one and only sister."
Subaru's eyes instantly lit up. The familiar heartbeat, the strong grip, the ever alluring voice, the smell of Illusionary Dreams.
“Good evening Subaru.”
“You’re late…Sei-kun.”
“I know I am and I’m so sorry…you deserve so much better.”
"You need to stop worrying, I couldn’t ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life and have a family with then you…Sei-kun." Without much more warning the younger boy leaned up and kissed the older; much to his partner's surprise. Subaru wasn’t one to initiate intimacy between them, at least not in public. Oh well, he'd worry about it later. He closed his amber eyes and gently kissed back.
Hokuto for once stayed quiet, with their graduation night coming to an end it was only fitting that her youngest brother truly did begin to grow up and judging by the way him and Seishirou were moving on the floor he had.
Now what was she going to do about Fuuma and Kamui?
