Summary
An alternate first meeting, where Mike Stamford suggests Dr. John H. Watson, who is newly home from being injured in Afghanistan, apply for an innovative position in the hospital. And guess who seems to be always underfoot?
They start with a turf war over a patient, take the battles to Baker Street, and ultimately end up both winning.
Sherlock gets a bit reckless when unaccompanied by John. No surprises there, yeah?
*********
"Why are we here?” John asked, quietly, in low tones. Pale blue eyes met his, held, definitely longer than necessary, longer than was comfortable. A power play.“Because I’m surrounded by imbeciles and morons all day, every day, with rare exception.”
“I’m a rare exception, then?”

Summary
A high stress, high profile job can lead to significant health issues. John and Sherlock receive an early morning phone call that Mycroft has had a heart attack.
Yup. Mummy Holmes was right that one Christmas gathering. They should definitely have stopped smoking.

This is a continuation of Dr. Watson's flatmate, a series that finds Dr. John Watson hired at the suggestion of Mike Stamford at the hospital as an intensivist, where he meets and discovers an entertaining and satisfying relationship with consulting detective Sherlock Holmes. They have moved in together, and have shared some crazy adventures already. And... they are just getting started. This story would stand well enough on it's own.

“Not hungry, but thanks anyway.”
“Backrub then?”
“Who are you? And what have you done with my flatmate?”
“Shut up. We can skip the backrub and go right to sex, then?”

Summary
Dr. Watson has been recruited by hospital administration to help out with a fundraiser in support of advanced education for nurses. All that's required is to show up, walk around with trays of food or drink, collect a few tips, and socialise. Certainly the evening will be predictable, fun, and safe. Oh, and Sherlock Holmes will be attending with him. Nothing could possibly go awry with this evening, yes?
While Sherlock is the one who may typically do the unexpected, John may have a surprise or two of his own.
++
Dr. John Watson, MD, is an Intensivist at the hospital, where his paths crossed with Sherlock Holmes. They have cultivated a rather satisfying relationship on Baker Street, and seem to find mischief and adventures from time to time. While this is a continuation of a series, it would stand well enough on its own. John is a take charge kind of guy, which ends up being a character trait that gets called into play on occasion when dealing with his unpredictable partner.
