Gates opens the door leading into one of the empty conference rooms and Tim freezes on the spot. Yes, in fact, his little brother is dumb enough to get caught by these idiots. And yes, these idiots are dumb enough to capture fucking Robin.
Tim can feel a tension headache forming.
“What. The fuck,” he says, because he can’t say anything else without breaking character.
He is going to murder Damian.

Summary
The moment the grandfather clock slides back in place, Damian bends over to cough harshly into his elbow. He coughs and coughs, like he’s trying to hack up his lungs, and it’s like he can’t stop. He stumbles into the wall and tries to breathe, tries to smother the coughs being torn out of him.
He finally forces himself to stop, but the itch in his chest is still there.
Damian doesn’t care for it. He desperately tries to catch his breath. When his breathing goes back to normal, Damian pushes himself off the wall. His vision is blurry with unshed tears and his legs feel like they’re made of cotton.

Damian wrinkles his nose, but thankfully doesn’t make any further comments. Steph doesn’t move for a few minutes and instead focuses on catching her breath.

Damian’s expression is oddly calm, but Tim’s learned a long time ago that the kid’s distressingly good at pretending nothing is falling apart.
“These idiots are incompetent enough. I expect Father to be here soon,” he says confidently.
Tim hums. “He’d better be,” is all he says.

Dick sniffles, blood dripping down his chin. He regrets putting up a fight only for the fact that his nose is bleeding and makes it hard to breathe, but he can’t complain. At least Two-Face didn’t break any bones this time.
At least, he thinks. He doesn’t think his ribs are broken, but he’s not a hundred percent sure. Maybe a solid seventy-seven.
It doesn’t help that his head and chest hurt, too.

Duke blinks and finds Tim crouching in front of him, eyebrows furrowed in concern.
“What’s wrong?” he asks. “Did you get spelled during patrol?”
His voice is muffled, like Duke is underwater. Sinking, sinking. He tries to shrug, he tries to reply, but he’s so drained. There’s nothing left to give. He tilts to the side and with no strength to fight against gravity, he lets himself slide sideways against the wall.
Tim catches him and the concern is easily replaced with panic.
