Summary
Paul tries to quit smoking. It's liable to drive John insane.
John’s eyes drop to Paul’s mouth. He sees the inside of it, the pink of his tongue, the spit that stretches beneath his molars. It tugs somewhere red hot inside of John, being this close, seeing it work. He wants to shove his fingers inside, feel the wet and warm, trace the sharp canines. Press down on the flat of the tongue that forms their joint words. Hook two fingers around the inside of Paul’s cheek, drag him closer, force him to stay.
