She considered him. Johnny seemed nice enough, he'd saved her life after all, but she hadn't forgotten what the Last Men stood for. They believed that hybrids should be eradicated, and no amount of niceties would make her forget what they'd do to her kids if she'd let them.
But, it seemed they'd do just that whether she helped them or not. And if she really could be any use to them, it would be incredible. "Before the beginning, there was a disease. Its name? H5G9. But everyone calls it the Sick. For this story though, we have to start closer to the end.
No one knows what came first, the Hybrids or the Sick, but one thing was clear: life would never be the same again. When Hybrids were first born, they were considered blessings from the angel Raziel. The families that had Hybrids were regarded very highly. Soon though, the Shadowhunters, the ones born human, began to think that Hybrids weren't what they had originally thought, so they massacred them. Flare-ups of the H5G9 virus started not long after.
This, along with the founding of the Circle, is what caused the breaking of the Shadowhunter world."
